Reviews of Baxter’s Court
S. S.
The pros of Wetherspoons are consistent: low-price reliable drinks and food - hence an automatic three star minimum. So in most cases the only real differential is the location and how much character it has… in the case of Hackney that is limited.
On the plus side, it is a large Wetherspoons, so getting a table should not be too difficult, and there are two outdoor spaces: a courtyard just inside one of the entrances and a “garden” patio upstairs.
The staff were a mixture of enthusiastic/eager to please and robotically tired of a thankless task. Fingers crossed you get here the former. But as usual, if you are looking for a cheap pint or meal in unfussy surroundings, you can’t go wrong here.
If you found my review or photos useful, please leave a thumbs up 👍 Thanks!

Really comfortable little oasis with a balcony area upstairs with covered seating and heating in the cold. The food was prompt and hot, the staff polite, friendly and non intrusive. I've only given it 4 stars because it's standard Weatherspoons food, nothing too exciting, but other than that it's a lovely little bar just right for my work day lunch.

Very good pub. Always a decent atmosphere. Lovely people from door staff to bar staff and regulars are also very friendly.
Service is always very quick.
Tom the bar man is fantastic in particular, very helpful and quick to serve.
Always a friendly attitude and fast service.

I visited this place between 7pm and 8pm on Feb 8th while in England. Unfortunately the 2 young ladies working that night were so unfriendly and reluctant to serve our small group of 3 that they bordered on hostility. One of them grabbed her handbag, got herself a meal and began eating, leaving us to wait several minutes for her coworker, while watching her devour her dinner at a table close to ours. The other disappeared in the back for exactly 8 minutes after I had to politely ask her to wipe the table that we had decided to sit at. I was confused I'd never experienced anything like that before, especially since there were only 2 other customers in there besides ourselves. It was not busy! The food when it finally arrived was not too bad. It was typical pub food that can be enjoyed with a few alcoholic beverages. I wouldn't totally rule it out for others to try. Good luck! Unfortunately I will not be revisiting this place.
C. B.
The longest I've ever had to wait to be served! I was 3rd in the queue and stood there for 20 minutes before being served. There was an obvious lack of staff, with only 1 visibly distressed bar person serving a packed out pub. The other bar person was going around the pub chatting to people and collecting glasses the whole time when it was so obvious he was needed behind the bar. Even the security guard came in to see what was going on because the queue ended up looking like a very large mob of people.
We were really disappointed which is a shame because it seemed like a decent place with a good atmosphere. There was just no service and zero friendliness, politeness, or professionalism from the bar staff.
R. P.
Love going to Baxter's Court. They are so busy and the staff are great. Unfortunately they seem to never have enough staff. The staff are doing a great job but are so rushed off their feet.
Please be kind to the staff and be considerate and patient.

Order drinks through the app, one of two drinks didn't show up for 30 mins so went to the bar for it, second drink appeared an hour later but we were allowed to keep it for free. Better of going straight to the bar for any drinks, however during busy times it's painful.
H. T.
A classic wetherspoons bar in Hackney. It was crowded on a Friday night but you can find tables thanks to 2 floors. I can't say it was clean and tidy as it was crowded. The service was fast, we ordered drinks through app.
A. H.
It's a Wetherspoons, so you pretty much know what you'll get. Great prices and a big pub. This is a great one for people watching. It makes other wetherspoons look upmarket. I love it.
D. M.
Good old weatherspoon, value for money and good service. Only had breakfast here and it was on the cold side 3 days in a row,so please a little warmer in future.
The gents toilets are in need of a make over too, otherwise would have been 4 star

One of the biggest Wetherspoon in the city. Service is fast prices are more than reasonable with a good selection of beers.

You know what you're getting with a 'spoons! Breakfast Bacon was rizal thin, but the food still good. Staff very friendly 👍
J. P.
Things greatly improved under new manager. Staff also are more attentive to customers needs.much better customer experience than on previous visits.
M. J.
Nice friendly staff, clean, good atmosphere, everything you would expect from the Wetherspoon franchise
A. Y.
Drinks and food prices are decent and lots of space for seating as well. Staff were friendly but can get a little loud
L. B.
Since a new manager has taken over, Nick, the place has changed for the positive. He understands people want to relax and enjoy the space the place can provide. Enjoyed the company I was with, the food and drinks. Excellent service from Hannah. Thank you.
R. G.
Good place Good polite and friendly staff and service is good
D.
Nice pub situated opposite Hackney Empire. Beer is cheap as chips and served cold. They have a large range of beers, ales wines and spirits. Their food menu is very good, indicating the calories or each meal and the added calories if you have side of something else to go with it. Children are welcome too, with a good choice on their kids meals. £1.99 for a pint of Coors Light beer great price.
R. F.
Very cheap, value for money.
R. M.
Had a good laugh with mates here, cheap aswell
M.
Great pub good vibes definitely coming back again thanks Brandi and Torique made me feel extra welcome and comfortable
L. S.
Not the best Spoons around. Usually quite a limited range of guest ales. Not the most salubrious venue.
S. A.
Lively Spoons located opposite Theatre/Town Hall. Two floors with small exterior area upstairs. Security and service are good. Popular with all ages, retirees and students/young professionals.

Same as usual, lovely pub for a kick meal.
F.
Make Indian cuisine as well as Indian restaurants but at a much cheaper price - bargain. Perfectly mixed atmosphere for romance meals, family meals or event meals and of course drinks
m. w.
What can I say, foods decent and value for money, can get a meal and a drink for a price of a pint in some local pubs, bit rough around the edges but can't go wrong, plenty of options on both food and drinks.
Z. S.
It's a nice area and everything there is pretty cheap aswell. They have an upstairs area and an outdoor seating area so there is alot of space
T. G.
Not quite your typical 'Spoons' with an eternal condiments shortage, sleeping patrons and less than hospitable bar staff. Breakfast cooked to formula but house policy of 'no swapping' hash browns for bacon or suchlike...is a first in all the Wetherspoons visited.
E. D.
Very goof Wetherspoons, feels homely and the staff team I'd wonderful. #Respect!!
P. S.
... busy vibrant, excellent vibe with a buzzing atmosphere . Good food and a fully stocked bar providing an array of choices . Looking forward to visiting again 😊👍🏾.

Friendly helpful staff. Great food for really good prices
J. “. A.
Improving slightly but still a little off. Staff are all friendly and the prices are great.
The main issue is the pub is very big and certain tables not seen from the bar can remain dirty with glasses and dirty dishes for hours.
Iv witnessed large tables being cleaned by customers that want to sit at them, stacking plates and moving them to other tables in turn making them dirty.
The down time from the bar seems to be spent chatting more than making sure the floors up to standards.
I've asked for tables to be cleaned before and the response has been apologetic and dealt with pretty quickly but I personal just think it should be something kept on top of more.
A. J.
What can I say... so many good times, great memories, cheap beer! :)
A. E. A.
Well though bad executes... Order took 1 hour but was nice anyway
c. a.
Although photo proof is required on entry it is a very friendly pub
J. D.
Cheap prices, cheery staff. Pity about the knob-end who owns the business.
T.
good food! nice place to chill with friends an have a drink.
M. G.
This is not one of my favourite branches of W, but it is local and you can't get any cheaper drinks in Hackney, the one good thing about this branch is it serves the local community very well, hackney needs more bar/pubs which serves the local community.
t. h.
Simply outstanding establishment, great breakfast i had myself in there, swashed it down with a DIY tea, cracking job. There were enthusiasts drinking the local wares as I had my breakfast, some appeared to be centinarians. Just goes to show what drinking alcohol every day at 10am can do for you. Been here after me and my better half came back from holiday from Sicily, think we ended up having a few shots of tequila just us two, bit bonkers but hard to get tequila in Sicily, knew were to come. I live above this boozer so not far to walk like. Worked out if we climb on the roof of our flat and walk along, we cab a sail into the little roof terrace/smoking area. Be funny that would 🤣
J. S.
Great food! We used the app to order our food, it was very easy and straightforward. Paid £30 for 8 plates of food. Parking not too far from the restaurant, we parked at Tescos. It is easy to find.
S. C.
We were served by Byron, he was very efficient even though it was a very busy day, his customer service was lovely and we had a great experience whilst there.
M. D. (.
Considering the fact that Wetherspoons pubs haven't got the best reputation, this place was a pleasant surprise. We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and there were only a couple of guests sitting by the tables, it was quiet and clean. There were only 2 members of staff behind the bar and they were friendly, polite and the service was fast, food was very cheap and a bit better than expected. Compared to other gastro pubs I'd give it 4/5 but for Wetherspoons standards it's a 5 star place.
S. B.
Up stairs was closed not happy with this as 8 people had to squeeze around a four table staff down stairs went above and beyond
P. J.
Warm and welcoming pub, with attentive staff, surprising for a Wethersponns. The food was served quickly, despite the pub being busy at the time, and our table was cleaned almost immediately by the excellent staff. I have several dietary restrictions but the head chef was more than happy to come and speak with me to discuss my options.
C. “. A.
Compared to the other weatherspoons that I have gone to only once. The food was more than surprisingly tasty, it was filling couldn't even finish it but I enjoyed it; the drinks deal were amazing. Would definitely go back there again.
S. T.
The best place to eat breakfast, very cheap and a very fast service
M. K.
GREAT spot to catch up with your locals and if you like a good insight on your ordinary people via "people watching" absolute top place to view a mix of your ordinary and quite peculiar person/s! Hehe. The selection of drinks have definitely gone down; however the food is decent and overall a cheap and cheerful time spent.
R. G.
Good place Good polite and friendly staff and service is good
A. S.
Competitively priced place considering the type of the establishment it is.
P. W.
Good food, drinks & atmosphere. Recommended...
j. d.
Went here before going to a show .ordered on app. Drinks arrived in 5 mins, food 10min. Very busy but nice atmosphere.
I love wetherspoons and go in one wherever l visit. Ladies loos up so many stairs but you could the lift.
The best bit was the manager on duty O.J. very helpful and pleasant chap and not bad on the eye either!!!
B. C.
Very nice food and cheep meal with a small group of friends.
R. F.
Very cheap, value for money.
R. M.
Had a good laugh with mates here, cheap aswell

5 stars for service! Amjad, the waiter, exceeded expectations in service. I have a long list of allergies and he gave me so much peace of mind with my food options. It's so rare to find this level of care and tailored customer service. Massive respect, I wish more places would take this approach and have his understanding.
w. r.
-It can be quite noisy and busy of a night time, +a number of meals come with a free drink which is different. - it can take quite a while to actually get your meal, +most of the staff are quite friendly , though they do seem to change quite often.
On 3 visits I've been told that different items from meals are unavailable, twice I was told they had no milk for coffee or tea?!!, another 2 visits they had no squash, yet there is a tesco only 5 minutes away?!.
s. b.
A post apocalyptic experience, staff seemed frantic, stressed by the unfriendly Hackney environment and I don't blame them, they're on the Frontline. The beer was in good condition yet the well-being of the employees had me concerned.
A. O.
I like the place. You get value for money. Good breakfast selection. Also a lot of beers to choose from. Unlimited coffee and tea. The nicest weatherspoon staff in the whole of London.
R. R. G.
Great Place with two different floors and terrace. The Menu offers many choices, on weekdays specials are available. The food is mostly bar-like-simpel but good and the beer affordable, starting from 2.99 !!!
w. G.
Big space, great staff, cheap food, cheaper drinks!,... great location opposite Hackney Empire/beside the Picturehouse cinema.
Got a show in 30 mins? Great, this is the place to go, Need a central place to meet a friend? (Dont forget to use the bathroom before you leave!) Great, use this as a compass...and have a drink while you wait...and when they arrive too!
I recommend. Highly recommend
M. S.
To be honest, it’s about at spoons as a spoons can get. Only issue is that the bartenders don’t look at who was in the queue first. They go to who they recognise or whatever. You’ll be standing there for a while but people who have just joined the queue will get a drink straight away. Other than that, it’s very standard
R. S.
The steak today was superbly cooked medium rear with a smoky grilled flavour. Baxter Court blew my taste buds to paradise and back with the coleslaw and crispy thick chips. Great dining, vibes all the way
J. D.
We were staying in the travelodge just up the road so this place was ideal for us.food was spot on drinks cheap (ish) and friendly staff. My only gripe was the bar manager refusing to serve us any more beer or shots after 10.00 on Fri and Sat night as he said we had had too much !! He was concerned for our safety. Granted we'd had a few but were not noisy or disruptive just 12 blokes in our 40s and 50s and a couple of younger guys who've been around long enough to know our limits.probably won't visit again
S. N.
Nice pleasant staff particularly Becky who organised a get-together for family members - easy pub to get to as there's a train station couple of mins away (Hackney Central) and on a busy bus route. Ladies toilets are very clean and though they are upstairs there is a lift. It's a wetherspoons so drink is very reasonable and it's always busy there .
I. C.
It's Wetherspoons, it is great and has an unrivalled range of premium drinks at exceptional prices on the "High Street". Likewise with the food offer. It does what it says on the tin? ; no, they own the tin!
S. G.
It's a Wetherspoon so you know what to expect. Service and prices always been good.. the only thing is the toilets don't smell very nice at all. Can get very busy and hard to find a table.
Often asked for money from beggars or have someone approach and try to sell you something. Some funny characters around.
J. B.
Went to Baxter's court for the first time in over a year, great service, friendly staff, Hannah was great an asset to Baxter's court
G. A.
Decent value for money, great beers, friendly staff. Very good.
T. M.
Cheap food & drinks, in a surprisingly plush pub. Staff friendly & efficient 2 train stations nearby and plenty of buses so no need to drink and drive. Excellent!
M. C.
My favourite JD Wetherspoons branch ever! 2 floors, 2 bars, massive terrace, smoking area. The interior design, the toilets and the location make it superior than others. Very friendly staff, the food is tasty as always and the drinks are the cheapest you can find! You should definitely try the pitchers of cocktail 🍹 🍸 the draft pale ales, IPAs and lagers. The best place for pre-drinking and dinner to go with your siblings and colleagues. The service is also extremely fast and efficient. I can’t even remember how many times I have been there so far... 🤣
a. t.
Cheap prices !
Loads of seating available !
The idea of having a "rooftop" balcony is also great !
Sometimes the cleaning of tables is being ignored after people (and they become sticky). But once you ask for it most of the staff is happy to wipe it for you.
They often check for İD's which makes it a safer place.
D.
Typical Wetherspoons, why oh why don't you get butter with the corn on the cob and enough coleslaw for more than three chicken nuggets? Beers good though and cheapest in London so all forgiven. Pleasant helpful staff too.
g. m.
Food is of restaurant standard, can't emphasise that enough food is bloody marvellous. Really friendly staff and a small smoking area upstairs. Bad smell coming from the disabled toilets though. Served by JOHN excellent customer service really made our day!
D. W.
Decent enough pub, good food and great staff!
P. G.
Standard wether spoons, normal prices for food and drink, friendly staff. Can get quite busy as it is in a central area of hackney hear the overground train station, but isn't too busy as I was able to get a table quite quickly due to the upstairs bar. Would recommend if looking for a quite drink and bite to eat.
N. B.
Cheap and cheerful food and alcohol - unfortunately food gets worst each time I try it even if its the new healrhier oprion! Friendly staff bottomless hot drinks and clean and comfy environment where you can whatch sports without sound and no music.? Great place to start a pub crawl!
B. R.
If this place wasn’t l so cheap it would get a lesser rating but considering all their drinks and food are very cheap compared to the surrounding pubs and restaurants makes this place stand out! You basically get what you pay for a nice service and a nice place well priced but not much more.
P. H.
This is a very busy Wetherspoons and it sometimes shows. While the staff are always polite, there are always issues of some kind with the good that you order. Best thing is curry club on a Thursday.
K. W.
They accept paypal wetherspoons is awesome. The epic journey up the stairs to the ladies toilet not so much (though they do have a lift I guess) no wonder there's a couch in there, you might want to take a break once you arrive.
D. K.
No frills wetherspoons, seating is a bit dated. Toilets are generally clean. Friendly staff. As always, an extensive range of food and drinks. The food is nicely cooked. I have experienced burnt/overdone food in quite a few wetherspoons, happy to say this isn't one of them. Nice location close to hackney central station, hackney empire and the picturehouse.
R.
My local pub I do like this pub it's always nice to see a friendly face. Unfortunately staff turnover here is high which is a bit sad, perhaps an old man who likes familiarity , but staff very efficient.
l. s.
Good for food and real ale
C. P.
I visited this branch of the Wetherspoon Franchise merely by luck. I had originally planned to do my weekly food shop at the nearby Tesco which is 24 hours however, it only opens at 11am on Sundays. So, as a hungry fellow who has turned up to his weekly ritual 2 hours early, I decided to take a venture around the local area when I discovered this cute and quaint local pub in the heart of Hackney. As you walk in through the seemingly dark doors of the building, you are delighted to in fact be greeted by a rather pleasant and open feeling porch. Following in through the second set of doors you arrive in the space itself. The staff were friendly and perfectly helpful in every way from showing me how to make my tea to talking me through the breakfast menu. The food arrived at my booth extremely quickly not giving even my tea enough time to cool down. It was delicious and I would certainly return as the prices are just too good to miss.
a. j.
Some delicious guest ales at the moment, including Oakham's. Staff are always pleasant. Food is edible, but definitely not a compelling reason for coming here, steak night being the exception.
M.
This is a poor example of Witherspoon's, not many real ales on offer and when I visited on a Saturday there was only one available. Food was ok and is large so usually has seats free
R. G.
It's a weatherspoons but staff are nice
R. R.
Great stop and busy of an evening foods not bad either but if you're going to be eating I'd get there early and check out the upstarts bar and terrace too if there's any space left... Cheers!
L. A.
We stayed for a drink here the staff were very helpful and friendly service although the atmosphere gets very noisy after all it is a pub as well the problem was that the menu were not readable due to the old menus being disposed of .who ever printed the new menu out did not know how to use the fonts enlarger and therefore we were not able to order our food. However when I made the staff aware of this it was then know board and they told us the reason why but we were not given any other means of ordering the food..shame but this is why only three stars....they do have a lift to the second floor and disabled rest room ground floor...wheel chair and scooter access too....
E.
Well...the setting is nice ....
I paid for a BBQ ribs and chips...and a side of grilled halluomi. I was under the impression that side comes with the main...however I was lucky...mine came when my friends had their desert.
The halluomi was harder than Vinnie Jones at Wimbledon.
Overall for east London....not bad 👌🤙
M. P.
Food was great ideal for taking children great afternoon meal with tge family
N.
Good atomsphere, efficient staff great location ,great menu and free wi-fi. Only let down not enough if any plug sockets to sit with laptop and do work that said I will visit with friends,as well jumped up security staff who let others in but checked my groups ID and bags as we werent the "corperate colour" that said we enjoyed the eve.
K. R.
Love coming here! Being my local weatherspoons. The staff are friendly and the bar manager carlos is nice. Was here last night before the soap awards at the hackney empire. Cheap for drinks.
s. o.
Lovely enjoyed a family meal
A. R.
Fish is perfect and so is there buttermilk burgers
B. J.
Can't fault it and amazing value. £6.50 tonight for a very nice lamb rogan josh and a pint of decent ale. Not unpleasant interior (nice fire). What's not to like.
S. M.
I mean, Wetherspoons is just that right?! I definitley feel they need some background music, and it's frustrating when there's no tables, however, we got great wuick service using the app on our phones!
J. K.
Great prices as drinks start from £2.85, super cheap for london, great food as well. Plenty of seats and nice booths- would definitely recommend
I. D.
Good cheap food. Shame about the smokers on the upstairs terrace.
S. P.
It's a weatherspoons standard fare and drink reasonable price no music so talk or read. Staff sometimes overlook women at bar and serve men first.
B. M.
Was ok better when upstairs open can do with better decor
J. J.
My favourite place to visit friends and some of the staff are so helpful especially maf. Kayleigh and byron and was nice to see our Pauline back there
m. l.
Fair prices, friendly staff and local punters. All in all a good experience, personally i much prefer this pub to the "Nouveau Hackney" pubs I.e white boring middle class where none would pay almost twice as much for a pint.
L. M.
Food was ok but overall i Found this place to be bery hospitable as I was able to kill a fee hours here whilst i awaited an appointment. Staff were friendly and helpful
J. S. M.
A Typical weatherspoon but I have to say their brownies are ab it dead. I hope they get more stuff in Stock
I. G.
Venue was nice - plenty of tables and chairs and staff were friendly but not much choice of real ale and that's why I went there.
D. N.
Lunch here today before crossing the road to the Hackney Empire. In many way, a standard Wetherspoons, so you know what you will get - good beer at low prices (for London), plus a menu that we've all seen loads of times. Service was friendy and rapid.
Rather dark interior and a long climb upstairs to the toilets.
S. L. P.
Came here for a couple of drinks before a night out at Hangar London. Absolutely packed for a Saturday night, had the bouncer come over a couple of times to tell us to be quiet @ around half9/10pm...
We were in a pub?"! What did he expect, plenty of people were having conversations and he randomly picked us out.
Staff almost looked like they were struggling to keep up, so decided to use the app service, we waited over 20 mins for a pitcher to come over to our table.
A. C.
Modern looking pub, nice courtyard and additional upstairs bar and terrace. Wetherspoons so good and cheap food and drink. Fully Wheelchair accessible.
M. D.
It's a spoons. But it's not the price of a spoons. Food is still reletively cheap. Not beer though. As ever, a wide selection and the deals on pitchers are probably the way to go.
D. L.
It's a standard sort of jdWetherspoon's ... always been polite to me. Centrally in Hackney and loadsa buses nearby. Modern sort of building. Don't know if it's still available but there was an open air part upstairs.
K. H.
Another traditional Wetherspoons pub, great selection of ales and good food, on an otherwise very 'trendy' area. Lovely to still have the option of a traditional breakfast 😃
A. M.
Reasonable selection of real ale and standard Wetherspoons menu. Upstairs bar is preferable to downstairs though no real ale upstairs so have go downstairs for this.
K. S.
More tables full of dirty plates and glasses than clean. No MILK! with Two Supermarkets very close. Their training needs a serious look at as one member of staff walked past the dirty tablets seven times and went away empty handed, it not the customers jobs to clear the table's!
K. M.
Very nice pub restaurant on two floors good wetherspoon menu and friendly staff but if you like real ale then buy it downstairs as the pumps upstairs are only for show but a great pub
S. M.
Really nice pub the staff was very polite and friendly
C. B.
Very affordable prices.
Has two floors with a beer garden on the second floor.
Nicely decorated.
A very nice bar!
b. h.
Perfectly situated the foods great and cheap great place for pre-drinks however because the alcohol is cheap you have all the locals in the pub from the minute it opens too the minute it closes drinking all day which then runs the whole idea of weatherspoons being a family environment I certainly wont take my kids too this weatherspoons again as don't want too let my kids see drunk people before lunch
M. W.
It was a bit loud the night I was there but had a lovely time meeting up with a old school teacher and got me out for a hour. Like the staff not rude like a pub nearby prices are ok.
H. R.
Staff always absolutely lovely
H. M.
Good customer service. Portion size was abit on the small size (Chips). Burger was nice but needed sauce
t. w.
It is a very popular place .
probably because of the Manager .
(carlos)
I have never seen a manager as
energetic,and enthusiastic and
hospitable as him .
It also draws in a lot of customers
from the town hall & other council
buildings from accross the road.
(While i Live i'll crow)
J. G.
Gorgeous veggie breakfast, very reasonably priced and lots of options. Astonished by the number of people drinking already at midday 😂 Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere though.
K. W.
Which is it Baxters Court or the Angel, posting 2 reviews for the same place.
k. m.
Cheap, nice chilled atmosphere. Local clientele so expect to experience good old east end boys.........
J. C.
Very relaxing 😌 drinking and eating with friends
J. W.
Came for the Sunday roast, but discovered they don't do it anymore. Had a steak with eggs which was fine. Annoyed with beggars coming in whilst we were eating.
V. A.
Decent place for a drink, service is good and the food is, well as good as you can expect from a pub. Nevertheless, the drinks are cheap and service is fast so it's ok
C.
Really good to eat. Hot food and big menu, lots of deserts. Fast and nice service. Lots of drinks. Baxters court it's one of my favorite Weatherspoon.
P. S.
Very nice clean pub the Fish & Chip were delicious pipping hot very busy place but plenty of bar staff so didnt wait long to put our order in
J. D.
Banging fish n chips...And deffo go on thursday 4 the CURRY CLUB!!
J. M.
Its a pub with pub smells and noisy gregarious clientelle. Great for people watchers. Food not bad too.
A. J.
A very popular pub with the locals and office workers. Lots of seating on both ground and first floors. Friendly staff and in the main an effective service.
C. J.
Fish was really nice and fresh
A. A.
It's a spoons, so you know what you're getting. Low prices, no frills. Decent beer selection and a large food menu etc.
L. S. (.
There's a shortage of Spoons in London, after a day wandering round paying £5 for pints. Baxter's Court prices can truly lift your spirit.
£5 for 2 pints or £3.60 for a double gin. You can't complain.
n. h.
Staff very attentive but more training required in most cases
D. C.
Pretty good. Food was competently cooked and hot, bar staff efficient and serve a good pint.
Mostly a hipster free venue.
V. M.
Love the foot in there friendly staff drinks are cheap
L. I.
Great steak dinner, great atmosphere, the staff are pretty good every time I did have a issue with my meal or needed it reheated they always were very kind and helpful about it.
A. H.
Only visit once a year for pre-panto brunch though am a regular of other Wetherspoon pubs. Used the app to purchase food and it works well.
P. N.
Very good fish and chips. Nice and hot. + free glass of red wine on Friday with the Friday special.
J. B.
Staff very helpful, clean environment. Good internet connectivity. Large space. Good selection like always. Always good for a cheap drink.
G. K.
Great pub
S. W.
Bit of a weird 'spoons this one. Very busy and very hot. It was the hottest day of the year, but why no air con? Beer selection was below par for a spoons.
B. F.
Not a bad weathersooons service a bit slow at the bar but overall the food not bad I recommend the 3 dishes for £10 only problem is very slow to take your plates away from the table but will return in the future .
k. o.
The young lady that served us was so joyfully, helpfull .
A. J.
Really friendly staff. Busy, cosy atmosphere. Ideal for food before theatre directly across road.
S. O.
It is so hospitable, and makes you feel imported. Seriously it is casual and fine. Food and service is good.
K. D.
Good for Brexiters, cheap pints and food, a very local gastro experience in Hackney with Daily Express displayed on the tables
j. E.

i. c. H.
Loved it. It was great full so was a long wait to get a drink. But on the hole of things we had a great time
H. P.
Good for a casino bar style, food is ok and cheap - better than most fish and chips schops although quality isnt always there.
j. l. d.
Good food cheap beer and great staff 👍
P. L.
It's a fair size pub with a upstairs restaurant, but can eat anywhere. Obviously good prices and the foods not bad.
G. M.
In the Heart of Hackney an antiseptic pub serving the usual Wetherspoons offer. On my visit there was no coffee. Disappointing!
N. H.
So, the beer was cold and nice; the burger I had was as it should have been: crispy bun, great meat.
L. G.
Great atmosphere, great staff, and great prices.
P. L.
Great pub love it here people and staff are really friendly recommend it to anyone. But I am here every night because it's cheap and I am from Birmingham working out of town 👍
J.

Cheap drinks and cheap food.
Nice for a quick bite or a few beers out.
N. H.
It is a very typical Spoons, however the drinks are cheap and the clientele are alright. Good for some drink and a quick meet up.
r. p.
Good food (beans not great) good prices staff seem over worked but still provide great service...
K. H.
Cheap & cheerful atmosphere. On a tight budget? You can't go wrong with burger & beer!!!!

D. S.
As far as Wetherspoons go this is a good one, bar staff are always great and cheaper beer in London is a win
N. W.
Wetherspoons chain pub that's a little rough around the edges but reliably cheap and with an excellent selection of cask and keg ales.
A. M.
Was excellent place, offering a big variety of Beers from at least 5-7 different countries.
Prices are reasonable.
M. S.
Good customer service.

The staff members attitude to non regulars is rude unfriendly and I have to say the customer service is terrible HOWEVER I
Was contacted by the lovely manager who asked if I could come in and have a meal and a chat we talked and I had fish and chips and I MUST SAY THEY WERE DELICIOUS REALLY NICE
A. L.
One of the better spoons pubs, and more realistic beer prices than you would normally find in that London.
C. S.

T. T. S.
Quick service, chef is good, food is always nice. Whether Spoon prices who can complain
A. S.

C. S.
Good weatherspoons, though the upstairs bar doesn't have all the drinks of downstairs
w. s.
A lovely weatherspoon pub, gets busy in the evenings, if you want a break from all the fancy pretentious pubs and people go here although the hipsters are slowly creeping in.....
S. P.
Middle of the borough, two floor Witherspoons, definitely better that the branch at the Barking Dog. Cheery and lively.
A.
Great!! Good atmosphere and good meals. Recommend buffalo wings and pork ribbs with bbq sauce
S. S.
Basic but in the heart of Hackney..prices are great and also has an outdoor seating area at the upper level can't fault this place.
