Tends to be absolutely heaving in the late afternoon/evening but if you start your drinking at a suitably early hour you can get a seat. Lovely little pub, they serve a great Guinness. Rest of the beer selection is limited.

Wonderful place with outstanding staff. My wife and I had just landed in London and headed to Bath. Along the way, we were itching to enjoy an ale in a typical English pub, but everyone we passed was bot open. I happened to spot this quaint pub as we were getting ready to enter a roundabout. I did a u-turn and pulled into the back of the building. We entered and the place was dead - only one other person in the place at 2pm. However, we were warmly greeted by the bartender - he pulled himself away from his cooking show. He took excellent care of us and we had a wonderful time. He even changed his cooking show to sports.for us Americans.

[Edit] I DID eventually have lunch there (third time is the charm!) and I must say it's delicious and original as it could get! Specialized in salted meat sandwiches, I tried also roast beef and onion with cheese and I must say they were all great, my favorite is salted meat, especially with the 4 types of complimentary sauces they offer you. Of course it all went down so smoothly with their fantastic Guinness that really there is nowhere I'd rather call "my favorite pub in London". A+++

Went for a day out in Covent garden & were having a bit of a pub crawl when this place caught our eye- it was a lovely hot day so needed a cold beer 😜 think it has 2 separate bars so a good old fashioned pub and Irish to boot! Not alot of places to sit & very small but a lovely atmosphere felt comfortable but couldn't go to the toilet as needed to use stairs so no good if you're disabled...not sure if the 2nd bar has any because we didn't go in there as it looked packed with people drinking outside in the glorious sun!

My wife and i had lunch in the Coach and Horses on Monday 25th April. We had a very good experience indeed. The beef baguette and salt beef sandwich were excellent and also Tribute bitter was like nectar. The pub was crowded when we arrived but we were made to feel most welcome and the bar man courteously found us two seats by asking some other people if they would make room for us, which they did willingly. I highly recommend this excellent pub.

After living in London for many years and visiting this place regularly great to see 6 years later they still have great staff and great beer and the clientele is still as friendly as ever. Lots of good proper Guinness available along with other beers. Service is friendly and excellent, can’t recommend enough for a true proper pub. Thank you guys, keep the excellent work up! I came here for the Guinness like everyone else. How does the Guinness compare I hear you say.. well, it was really good. I can’t say if it’s the best I’ve had outside of St James Gate but I had a few so it’s not bad. The Guinness is poured well, the glasses spotless and a good head on it. It’s definitely one of the best looking pints of Guinness I’ve had. Was just about £6.60 for a pint of Guinness It’s a very popular pub (inside and out) so you may have to push your way to the bar but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good. I will come back next time I’m up in London.
