Reviews of Dean Swift Pub
B. M.
A great pub with a great selection of beers. The food style here is tapas with some of the typical favourites. Service was quick and it all tasted really great. Fantastic beer food. The dishes that really stood out were the chorizo, pardon peppers and the calamari. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is out for a few beers and a bite to eat.
K. L.
My new favourite pub for an incredibly tasty Sunday roast and Spanish tapas! The Sunday roast is available in a few options: veggie (mushroom pie), chicken, lamb and beef, priced between 14-18.50£ respectively, so very reasonable in ny opinion. The food comes quickly and in decent portions. We had lamb and beef and its been a long time since I had such tender meat. It was not chewy at all but perfectly cooked. We didn't have a booking but yet the service was incredible and they tried to accommodate us regardless. The staff was kind and attentive. We also had churros with chocolate which, according to my Spanish companion were authentic, fresh and simply delicious. I will definitely be coming back and I recommend anyone searching for Sunday roast in this area to head to this pub. Although try to book in advance to avoid being turned out in case it gets very busy.
C. B.
Amazing place, service and food. When back in London we will be back. By far the best roast I have had in ages. Gutted am not local
A. G.
Tried the Sunday roast here. The place was pretty crowded and so I was placed on the high bar stool (even though I made a reservation) which isn't a comfortable while you're eating. The roast itself was alright. Not as well as I had expected though, especially for this price. The beef had some stringy parts, too hard to cut or chew. Potatoes were dry and lacked seasoning. Not great overall. I want to give them the benefit of doubt and say it's probably because of the rush.
D. J. C.
Make a reservation for Sunday Roast, you won't be disappointed. No walk-ins for Sunday Roast. Excellent.
S.
Great food and atmosphere. The lamb roast was delicious. Tables are a bit small though.

(Spanish)
La comida espectacular, la cerveza grande muy variada y de precio genial. Pedimos un Sunday Roast para dos y hubo mas que de sobra.
(English)
The food was amazing, the beer was pretty large and the price is really fair. We ordered one Sunday Roast for two and it was more than enough.
r. d.
Really good Sunday roast. The chicken was super tender and so much gravy I didn’t even need to ask for more. The beef was nice and rare, which you don’t always manage to get at a pub mid afternoon.
P. M.
Great little boozer with a changing selection of IPA and pils on tap. Good has switched to tapas now which is very tasty
A. M.
Adding this review as I noticed someone left a mediocre one below "without having even visited"?! I've been several times with family and friends over the years - looking forward to lunch in a couple of weeks, first return since lockdown. The quality of the beer is exceptional, always a wide range and usually a couple of my favourite "the Kernel" on tap. The food is very good too always fresh and well made, this is a relatively small venue but all the better for it, it has a lovely calming atmosphere, really friendly knowledgeable staff, as described elsewhere a true oasis and definitely one of my favourite destination pubs in London.

A lunchtime stop to rendezvous with our son, so ordered food as well as drink. The menu had a Spanish Tapas theme and I had the jamon baguette with patates bravas. I was disappointed with this, bread being soft and tasteless, the Iberian jamon being tough and dry and the patatas simple chunky chips with some commercial sauce. The only redeeming feature was the IPA pint that I had, which was very tasty and went down a treat. Other than that, the staff were great and the toilet was very clean and actually smelt nice!
A. H.
Decent selection of beer and quick service. My pint wasn't fully topped up but the manager behind the bar noticed and sorted without me even having to ask.
A. M.
Fantastic roast dinner, excellent craft beer and the staff were absolutely superb!!! Nothing too much trouble. Our go to London pub!!
J. W.
Cozy pub, friendly bartender, a lot of good local craft beer. So close to the beaten path, but still a little hidden.
Try this hidden gem if you are near the tower bridge or tower of London!
N. M.
Great little pub, bar staff friendly including the manager Zed. Food is good and since and dairy and wheat intolerant it often tricky, but not an issue here even had the roast minus the yorkshires and was good.
J. L.
Great and stylish pub! Good just to have a drink or to eat as well! Very good beer and friendly staff 🙂
E. M.
Perfect experience
I’m Spanish and there’s some Spanish food in this bar that is delicious!! I will come back sure. The owner was so nice and polite.
G. C.
If you are looking for food, the pub has a nice quiet second level which has quite a lot of seating. The food itself is pretty good. Had the special, which was a steak sandwich. Fish and chips were pretty respectable as well. Overall a nice gastropub that is slightly away from the tourist centre.
T. K.
Good beer & amazing tapas! Nice prices for such a cool and tasty place.
S. S.
Craft beer, food and excellent service. Very confortable place with tasty food and good craft beers. Pint price about £5,50; main dishes price about £14. Very good place.
C. H.
Lovely local, with solid beer selection.
Also very much dog friendly
J. C. (.
Nice little pub with good food. Can get crowded and busy, but that is a good sign that it is popular!
O. S.
A very nice small two storey pub located about 5 minutes from Tower Bridge and situated in a residential area.
We visited on a Sunday especially to enjoy their famed Sunday Roast.
I can say that we were not disappointed at all.
After enjoying a glass of their Gulliver's Pimm's we ordered the Lamb Sunday Roast.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Ash who did a good job in serving us not withstanding one or two little mishaps however this did not detract from our enjoyment.
The Lamb was excellent being both moist and tender and ample in portions. The Yorkshire Pudding and the Roast Potatoes were also excellent and could not be faulted as were the vegetables.
The Lamb was served with a Red Wine Jus which was probably the best I have tasted and made the dish even better.
Chef Noelle and his team deserve a special mention even taking the time to visit our table to ensure that one of our party who does not drink had a special Gravey prepared.
A very big thank you to the whole Dean Swift team who made a great meal even better.
We shall certainly all be returning to enjoy what the 5 of us consider one of the best Sunday Roast Dinner we have ever had.
Top marks all round.

Great pub, small place with nice ambiance and the food is impressively good. I wasn’t expecting to be that tasty and special with a lovely presentation! They have a bunch of beers as well however haven’t tasted since I got a glass of wine. Great selection of wines by the glass also. Definitely recommend it!
C. J. S.
Great service, lovely pub and nice tucked away location. Food was spot on! The Paprika Hummus was the dogs b****ks, and the roasts were delicious. Pleasant surprise was the Custard Fritters, not crazy sweet and with an unusual texture, absolute treat! Will definitely go back again.
J. f.
Great place for craft beer, staff could maybe know a little bit more about the beers, but wasn't an issue.
N. S.
Got the Sunday roast and was blown away. Great selection of beer, incredible food, and table reservations are only for an hour max so it's not impossible to get a table no matter how busy it is. The restaurant came on recommendation from a Brit who works at Bugsy's in Paris (apologies that I can't remember the name) and I gotta say he was spot on. One of my favorite meals in recent memory and all-around great spot to visit if you're in London.
F. E. B.
The pub is a little out of the main hustle and bustle of the river but what a great find - a lovely atmosphere with a nice buzz. A modern pub a mix of different seating options with tables upstairs too. Great variety of beers on offer but the highlight for us was the food. Authentic Spanish tapas with so much choice - a diverse menu with options to suit everyone's tastes - we ordered lots of different dishes (the beauty of tapas) and my top 3 favourite tapas, although hard to choose, were the cod fritters, padron peppers and the octopus skewer - but to be honest it was all delicious!
Despite the pub being quite full, the staff were super accommodating and friendly and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated as we were hungry! Honestly, couldn't recommend this place enough and will definitely be back again for more drinks & tapas.
I also heard people raving about the roast dinners while we were there so can't wait to try on a Sunday!
N. R.
Small but perfectly formed corner pub with 15 or so keg lines, a short cocktail menu, and small plates/tapas menu. Upstairs area available for private hire.
I. G.
Great Sunday roast. Love the refurb too. Definitely worth a visit. And beer lovers are spoilt for great, artisinal choice!
J. C. (. a. J.
Good pub near Tower Bridge. Only one cask beer on tap available when I visited but 16 craft keg beers and ciders. Interesting Spanish influenced menu. No seating outside but people standing drinking in the street.
P. C.
Nice local pub with range of trendy rather than basic beers so not cheap. Friendly staff
C. T.
Disappointing visit since the renovation. Overcrowded, overpriced, mediocre food, and service was slow, but friendly at least. Bizarrely, the beer selection upstairs didn't include everything on the taps downstairs. I used to love the Dean Swift, but I fear they have lost their way.
I. N.
Always a great experience. Our go to pub when in London. A short stroll from Tower Bridge. It's superb for Sunday lunch and an excellent beer selection. The staff are also great in terms of both service and beer advice. What's not to like?!
A. W.
Neighborhood pub with really good food choices. Service was attentive. Meals were well presented and very tasty.
P. C.
A friendly local pub with a good range of beers. I've been here about three times over a period of five years and it has been improving, which is always nice to see. It seems to attract a diverse crowd of young and older people. It seems a good place to watch sport, but if you just want a quiet chat there are corners you can sit in.
M. B.
Great place for having a pint of beer with friends. They have so many beers on tap that its hard to choose, but friendly staff would let you taste them so you can decide better what beer you like. Cheers!
K. Y.
I came here as a group of 7 on a Friday post-work evening, and expected a pub crammed full of punters that you so often find in Soho, I was pleasantly surprised to find we had the entire room upstairs to ourselves including a personal service from a bubbly member of staff. This adds another pub to my list that focusses on sending out superb plates from the kitchen, and the selection of beer would satisfy most connoisseurs. Will definitely come again if in the area!
Q. A.
Two words. Chocolate fondant. Bloody good.
Food was lovely. Nice flavour to salt chilli squid and the scotch egg was pretty decent. Would've taken a photo but scoffed the lot before I remembered to.
A. T.
Mini burgers are really good! But a little bit pricey for tapas
M. H.
Lovely selection of craft beers, will be back
K. K.
Great Sunday roast place!! The lamb & beef were devine and the staff friendly and chilled. Will go again.
C. D.
Amazing food. Great prices. The Sunday roasts are highly recommended.
A. S.
Good craft pub with a good selection of cask ales available. Just off the main road from tower bridge, but definitely one of the best drinking holes in the area. Will report back one I've managed to stuff my face with the delicious looking food.
R. D.
What a lovely oasis of calm, good humour and great beer choice, just minutes away from the crazy of the touristy Tower Bridge riverside bars.
Clean lines, great food menu, wide choice of beers and friendly, efficient staff. Definitely recommend!
G. S.
The Dean Swift Pub is a great spot to get a beer and chat with friends. I really enjoy the atmosphere here, everyone is friendly and it feels like a neighborhood pub.
J.
Lovely ambience, tapas were unreal we particularly enjoyed the pork belly and the croquetas! Friendly, laid back yet top quality food and service. Will definitely be back!
A. M.
Small but perfectly formed craft beer haunt near to the iconic Kernel brewery, serves tasty tapas and splendid Sunday roasts. Warm and friendly, nice people and good beer!
D. B.
Beautiful interior and a really good craft beer selection. Food we had too was great. Worth a visit.
G. P.
We come here for Sunday roast every time we visit London, never been disappointed
C. W.
Fun tapas bar with great beer menu. The wine selection meets expectations. The vibe is chill, but nice. Overall 4/5.
L. C.
wonderful Sunday roast beef, and unbeatable selection of beers!
P. M.
Been here twice since the reopening, great experience both times. The menu changed to tapas so tried the meat and cheese platter. It was good quality and well presented. The beer is what I've always come for and it's pretty much the same as before. All the beers I've had were fresh and at a good temperature. Although the real ale selection was quite limited, I'm sure that will get sorted soon. One of the best pubs in the area
A. &. S. D.
Lovely pub - and the staff are really great. Broad selection of ales and the food is some of the best pub grub around.
D. N.
Had the Sunday roast , was delicious and perfectly cooked, tons of flavor, friendly staff that beer selection for the meal was spot on. Awesome atmosphere, local ladies let us sit with their group so we could enjoy our meals, providing great conversations. Perfect experience for the first time in London .
F. A.
Small plates were quite expensive at around £6-£8 but they were quality. Nice bar staff very chilled out vibe nice quiet location.
For the area regular priced. Will definitely be visiting again
K. W.
This has to be the best place for Sunday roast. Lived in the area for 5 years and certainly tried every place along the water. Service is great food is great and everyone should try this at least once. 100% recommended
M. F. D. G.
Great Beers, home made food and lively staff. They were super flexible when booking space for a big group of friends. Thanks guys!
L. W.
Nice pub with great selection of beers.
N. C.
Not bad prices considering the fantastic location. Good service and a nice environment.
R. G.
Best pub in the area and now has Paulaner on draft.
I. B.
Some nice beers. It's a pity the experience is spoiled by young bar staff who don't seem to care about serving customers.
P. J.
Friendly staff. Air-conditioned so an excellent place to visit on a hot day like when we visited. Pretty good selection of drinks. Table service due to covid restrictions.
C. L.
Great lively bar with fantastic selection of beers
F. S.
When God invented the combination of good beer and Sunday roast, this place is what he had in mind. What an absolute gem for treating yourself to a lazy Sunday afternoon.
W.
Good IPA selection, nice layout and atmosphere
D. G.
Can't recommend this place highly enough. This year we've spent two Saturdays in there from around mid afternoon to closing time and had an awesome day. Last night we booked the upstairs for my wife's birthday without charge with a free run over the screen and music. The cook went off menu for us and served up an excellent Roast Beef on a Saturday evening . The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and made the party an awesome one.
Thanks to all the staff!
T. H.
Great little pub. Fantastic beers, nice ambience, friendly staff. The food is also top notch.
J. S.
Excellent Sunday Roast! Two of us had the rolled lamb shoulder and I had the beef. Both dishes were excellent. They were both cooked perfectly and the lamb was tender , flavorful, herbal and with a tinge of sweetness. There was plenty of food and we were quite full and satisfied. The staff was friendly.
S. T.
Great place! Great beers! Saved us from the rain as well! Very good, traditional pub!
P. H.
Nice, small, cosy London pub. Friendly service and very good choice of craft ales and lagers. Plenty of seating and they show sport on a couple of TVs too. Slightly off the beaten track so doesn't feel like you are in central London. Large windows so it feels nice and light and airy. Well worth a visit
A. T.
Great pub that I'd never encountered before but absolutely lovely. Warm and engaging service, decent range of drinks and a cosy but modern decor
c. g.
Great roast and good selection of beers
R. P.
Overall not a bad night here. Was a decent boozer but crazy busy when I got there. Food was average. Choice of beers was good. Overall I've been to many many pubs in London and this isn't a place that was good enough to make the effort to return. Its very much off the beaten path.
T. w.
Lovely Sunday Roast, vegetarian option was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. Quiz night was fun, we came 5th out of 11!
R. D.
Excellent roast dinner and huge range of craft beer and cider.
G. A.
Amazing food, really good beer and very friendly service. Highly recommend it
M. L.
Nice little pub with a good selection of ales. 3 cask and several more on keg and a top quality cyder.
J. B.
Old style Pub building in the area near tower bridge. The place is quite nice and seems to attract an after work crowd. They have a range of craft beers of varying quality. There is not a lot of space available. The menu is ok a bit traditional. The prices are not too excessive for the area. I would describe it as pleasant but I am not sure I could class it as destination. Good for a post work drink and a bite to eat if close by.
L.
A great little find of a pub, friendly and welcoming with a long list of ales which made it difficult to choose from but the knowledgeable staff made a good recommendation.
n. n.
Cosy little pub, located out of the way of crowds. Good menu, food nicely done, better than average for a pub. Plenty of seating, big screens, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, even when busy. Have to take a star off because there is only one shared toilet upstairs, which is tiny and unfortunately their black currant mixer is vile.
J. P.
Great spot just out of the way near south end of tower bridge. Excellent beers, good food, friendly staff, good Sunday roast.
D. L.
Great atmosphere, usually really buzzing and often tough to get a seat (particularly during the work week or on sunny days, which I note as a good thing!) We generally only come here for drinks and snacks/nibbles. Got pudding once, which we decided wouldn't be a repeat, but are happy to keep it as a local to meet up for drinks-- as they definitely don't disappoint!
P. H.
Went for staff xmas meal. good food, great beer and brilliant service
C. K.
Sunday roast was great and gluten free without the Yorkshire pudding. If booking, request to seat downstairs. We had to rush through our meal and I left with a headache because it was so unbelievably loud upstairs with two tables of about 20 people competing for air time. It made it an unpleasant experience, unfortunately.
A. H.
Great beer selection and friendly staff
A. G.
I was out of work for a few days, and therefore had the opportunity to enjoy a few beers here while most people were still at work. Needless to say, I also enjoyed a few more beers here once most people had finished work and the bar filled up. A great choice if cask ales, and loads of craft beers on tap. I really like drinking beer, especially cask ales, and this is a nice place to do that.
M. Á. G. P.
The best pub gastronomic experience in London.
I went there with my boyfriend, we've been working in the industry for several years and we love to go out and enjoy drinks, food and service. Definitely this is the best service we've received in London so far. The quality of the food was amazing and the guys were right in all their recommendations. We'll be back for sure!!
D. M.
I was disappointed with the beer I'd found in London until I randomly stumbled into this place for lunch. The bartender was great, walking us through the tap and cask list, making great suggestions and letting us try several. They go in for mostly local beers, and all of them I tried were excellent. The food was delicious. My steak sandwich was perfectly cooked and the bread was excellent.
The guys working there were quite friendly chatting with us about our plans and making suggestions about where we should visit while in London. All in all, a great choice for our lunch that day.
C. R.
Celebrated with work colleagues a fantastic Christmas lunch. There were 16 of us and the food was great, everyone enjoyed their meal which was warm & plentiful. The staff were lovely, helpful and professional. I definitely recommend this bar, and it's superb location. Thank you to Tim the manager and all your staff for a memory maker day!!
E. B.
Stopped by for a Sunday roast. Great selection of beers and the food was top quality, not cheap by any stretch, but I'd say worth paying the bit extra.
They were showing the football/rugby without it being intrusive and overall the atmosphere was good.
M. T.
I live in the area. These guys have a great beer selection including some Belgian stuff, and they know their stuff. Service is usually good. I have had bizarre experiences with the food, however. As an example, the menu explicitly lists the ingredients in their Greek Salad. I ordered it, and when the guy brought it over it only had half of the ingredients in it. It was like their cook had run out of stuff, and then rather then telling me (and giving me a chance to order something else) they had just made up something and put it in front of me. I complained, and the guy offered me a free drink - pretty ridiculous given that I already had a large glass of Coke in front of me. I pointed this out and the reply was a shrug. So the lesson is the place is great for drinks but extremely inconsistent for food and the service (from certain people who work weekends) can be ridiculously poor.
E. m.
Great craft beer selection, very helpful staff who are friendly and keen to assist. Spacious dining room upstairs with some good dishes being served. Downstairs at the bar it gets crowded and they show sports.
C. B.
It's the only pub to go to in the area. It's our local for work and can't be beat for good beer, good service and catching the afternoon sun out on the street
F. D.
Great Sunday roast and good selection of craft beer.
D. T.
A small pub hidden away offering a very warm welcome, beers you don't recognize, but ask! Say what you like and the staff will guide you. I drank Steigl, an Austrian lager and tried the meatballs. Both wonderful. Not my last visit!!
D. H.
The Dean Swift is a beer drinkers paradise, just off the beaten track, on the south end of Tower Bridge. If you appreciate a good pint, this is the place for you. There are two or three really good pubs in the area, so this is one of our favourite "mini crawl" areas.
F. L.
Great little bar tucked away just a stones throw from Tower Bridge. A great craft beer bar, lots of selection from many great breweries, Tiny Rebel, Beavertown, Brew By Numbers, and the like. Friendly atmosphere and nice staff. Great little gem that I will make sure to drop by when I'm in the area.
A. N.
Small pub with two levels. A lot of TVs makes this great for watching sports. Good selection of beer. The cheeseburger was average. Can and should book a table for big events to guarantee seating.
T. D.
An amazing roast dinner!
Nice vibe upstairs extra seating.
B. N.
A premium pub in a hideaway location, this pub is just a few steps away from Tower Bridge but far away enough from the tourist track to be a good local. The bar is adequate but not exactly cozy, with somewhat harsh lighting and a hardwood floor that reflects sound -- it can get very loud when the match is on. Good (but pricey) beer selection, staffed by real beer people. Food is adequate, used to be very good but is on its way down after a change in leadership in the kitchen.
C. B.
Great pub just off the tourist trail in Shad Thames. Superb range of very well kept beers, friendly staff, and good modern pub food.
You can book tables, there is free WiFi, and sport on TV - though the sound is down unless it's a big game.
t. f.
Good food and good atmosphere. However watch out for one of the bar men. Heard him moaning at the bar about our table not giving a tip even though its a pub not a restaurant. However landlord was very accommodating with great beer selection.
C.
A strong 4/5 - Potatoes need a bit of work.
D. L.
Good range of beer which is always a plus. Went on a Sunday and they hadn't sorted out our booking, which was a bit annoying but was resolved and they found us a table. Roast dinner was sizeable, minor niggle was that the potatoes were quite hard.
A. L.
Really good selection of craft beers from local and abroad. Kitchen was closed when we got there, but the dry roasted nuts were delish. Easy going and casual - a great spot for a late night beer.
R. D.
Solid pub food and a decent beer range including proper cask. Friendly welcome, good service. Will be back.
I. d. C.
Great selection of craft beer with knowledgeable staff, good vibe, good music and the food was also pretty good. Crowd is friendly an a mix of local and those who work around London bridge. Beers rotate on a regular so always a good reason to come back
L. S.
Good service but quite an overdone roast, quite average and a bit salty. Not an excellent Bloody Mary either
H. K.
Came here for its famous roast dinner and it certainly did not disappoint.
The roasts are costly however they are very filling and very delicious.
The real cherry on the cake is the apple crumble they serve. I don’t even like apple crumble but have got back several times to eat, it’s just incredible. So if you go, make some room for that dessert!
A. W.
In addition to the warm and friendly service and the great selection of draught beer and menu items, Dean Swift is currently serving an amazing beef and ale pot pie which is served on a mountain of mash, covered in a mouth watering gravy with char grilled broccoli on the side.
Easily a lunch for two or one really hungry person.
Best pie in London!
G. H.
Quite busy when our group visited but the managed to accommodate us upstairs for a meal. A bit expensive but food was good. Then we paid the bill. I gave them a few quid for a tip and left...only to be shouted a few yards away by a waitress who had forgotten to add a 10% service charge to our original bill so not pleased about that especially after already tipping them.
K. L.
Good Central meeting place, good food
S. R.
Really nice place especially if you like your craft beers. Always plenty of choice. Staff always friendly and quick to serve. They have TVs so can watch when footballs on.
M. K.
Had the roast which seems to be held in high regard. The pork was tasty and veggies were pretty good but the potatoes were seriously lacking. I don't think the price is justified, nor the reputation unless we were just unlucky
I. C. L.
Lovely atmosphere, great staff and the roast is delicious! Portions are humongous but don't worry, they'll prepare it for you to take away with you. A great place to have as a local or to be honest, make your way across town for!
C. H.
This has been my local for over 10 years. A great pub in all of its in carnations. It has joined the gastro beer craze and hasn't suffered as a result. The upstairs has opened up and offers more much needed seating. They even offer their own lager beer called the Dean Swift if you live around there you already know it, it you visit it is worth dropping by for a quiet beer.
P. S.
Nice enough pub, but went for a birthday meal with family and was surprised to find they had football on. Was expecting more of a gasto-pub experience (rather than sports bar). Despite this the food and drink were decent.
C. P.
Friendly staff and good beer.
A. K.
Great place! Quiet at noon, with tasty ale and fried brie cheese.
H. A.
Excellent pub in central London. However, if you don't know it, it would be hard to stumble upon it. The place is the perfect getaway from the stress and the hard workday. I recommend it for it's authentic appeal and huge variety of drinking choices available.
C. W.
Had a really great Sunday roast with brilliant service. Staff let us sample the wide beer selection before buying. Dog friendly!
B. D.
Have been going for about 5 years. Constantly great. Beer is a good tier above other pubs, as is the food and the staff.
A.
Do you like your streets cobbled, your pubs cozy, and your beer crafted? No? Then best trot off down the street.
The Dean Swift is a stylish stop tucked down a quiet street just steps from the bustle of Tower Bridge. Cozy combines with a gastro menu and a tap list full of local options and tested faves. Something for everyone. Sometimes there be pirates!
A. S.
Nice pub in a quiet Southwark back street a stones throw from Tower Bridge. Slightly hipster, but a good selection of beers! Watch out for the pigeons though if you're drinking outside, they like a bit of target practice!
T.
+ Great dive off the tourist trails, + delicious pub fare, + nice crowd
Walking around London’s harbor city at Tower Bridge we accidentally ended up at The Dean Swift. I was happy to find this small gem since it has a lot of atmosphere and is lacking all the London tourists!
When we came here we crashed their Sunday Pub Quiz Night, which seems to be a local favorite since the place was packed.
At the bar you get a wide range of local beers, including ales and pilsner. With £4-6 these might be expensive for London standards but if available try the Scottish Bitter & Twisted.
Similar to other English pubs “The Dean Swift” also serves pub food but in contrary to most pubs this one is delicious! E.g. their beef burgers are enriched with some lamb meat giving the dish an extra kick. The menu is changing throughout the year since they only use seasonal produce but I hope this doesn’t refer to their Italian burger! Appetizers are ranging from £4-8, Sandwiches and mains from £6-12.

Grace and the guys really looked after us. Great pub
b. m.
Good choice of beers 🍻 staff very friendly enjoyed our visit.
P. D.
Really nice atmosphere and food. Good selection of beers.
R. W.
Little backstreet boozer in between Tower Bridge Road, Shad Thames and Tooley Street. Usually 3 beers on handpump plus around 10 on keg. I do like the O'Hara's Irish Stout, which puts Guinness to shame.
D. X.
Excellent local pub with very good cuisine, definitely a gastropub, especially the Sunday roast. Not your usual selection of beers, lots of different options available and friendly staff
D. H.
Booked a table for a Sunday roast - roast was lovely with generous portions and the choice of beers were great. Atmosphere is very nice and cosy and the staff were really nice.
W. F.
Lots of beers and ciders to choose from, none of them particularly oustanding however, but they do change them often so maybe I have been unlucky. A good feel inside the pub and the food looked tasty as well.
p. p.
Cozy pub not too far from Tower Bridge. Exceptional selection of beers and a pie which blew me away. Good service, great location, 5 stars for them.
D. T.
A very nice pub with great beer and good food. I strongly reccommend the lager beer which is the best beer I ever had and if you are hungry, the steak or deep fried brie are both very good choices.
A. W.
Came for their well known Sunday roast only to find they had only chicken left, no beef, no lamb. Bit disappointing, I'm a local & probably won't make this a regular thing if you can't count on the food being available.
D. B.
Great beer, wine and food but the stand out feature of this pub is the service, some of the friendliest and most attentive service I have experienced anywhere in London. Great work guys, please keep it up.
J. M.
Had a birthday Sunday lunch here. 14 people, all eating roast, every one was delicious and we left stuffed and very happy. Thanks to all the staff, service was great! 👍
C. R.
Very good food with a friendly staff. Fish and chips was great and the tar tar sauce was definitely home-made. Great place to stop after a visit to London Tower and Tower Bridge.
T. J.
Great craft beer, nice staff, awesome tapas!
K. A.
Great range of beers and tapas in a chilled out location near Tower Bridge.
A. C.
Best roast in London with an excellent beer selection (good gin too). The team is great, they always go out of their way to help.
T. J.
Great beer selection. Food is also always nicely done. Easy-going atmosphere. Nice space.
S. S.
Quaint little pub we visited while on vacation. Looked on Google Maps for a pub nearby us as we were walking and exploring. Fish and chips were great. Cider was fantastic.
H. T.
Nice little gastropub tucked away on Dean Street. Good food and great selection of draugh beers (including my London favourite Beavertown). Additional seating upstairs, and a few TVs litered around if you're interested in sport.
J. W.
Lots of interesting beers with good food in a comfortable atmosphere
D. R.
£17.50 but a classy Sunday roast. Topped up with a cracking pale ale. Great attentive service. Alternative music. Good vibes. Top marks.
S.
Very good selection of beers, would recommend a visit when visiting the south bank
M. W.
Really good pub with excellent craft beers and top quality food. The scotch egg was really excellent. Friendly talkative staff. Highly recommended!
D. Z.
One of our favorite pub/restaurants from the trip to London. Great atmosphere, with great craft beer, in a cute neighborhood. Beer was great & food was good as well :).
C. D.
Last visit a few years ago this place seemed a bit too 'gastro' for me. This time felt more like an authentic back street local, with top notch ale. Good service, too many tv screens.
R. C.
Great space, nice beers and amazing menu. I recommend.
A. E. D.
Great pub with good selection of beer. Went there tonight after drinks to catch the football Liverpool v Bayern Munich. Nil nil!
P. M.
Good local with well kept range of ale. Lacks a regular session beer. Eating is OK. The three big tellies don't add much.
E. B.
Ok atmosphere, decent food, ok beers.
This is London though. Around the corner you can probably find amazing food, great beers and fine wine, in a lovely pub.
D. W.
Loved the atmosphere, excellent choice.
A. M.
A very pleasant and educated pub which not just serves great pints but food also.. Staff are very pleasant.
A. M.
Came for the roast and it has been the best in London yet!!! Roast Beef and lamb were both amazing - tasty chips/fries too
G. J.
Great selection of craft beer. It was rammed downstairs, but there was room to sit upstairs and there was table service. The food was good.
I. S.
Friendly staff, nice Sunday roast. Chicken roast was juicy and the gravy was very good. The chips however, were disappointing.
C. R.
Nice pub, good selection of beer. Fantastic scotch egg. Spoilt by rugby on the telly and everyone asking to "get" their own beer.
P. O.
Very cool pub. Nice buzz, great selection of craft beers. Beats the commercial pubs closer to the main drag hands down.
A. K.
Nice pub, good beer selection. But not cheap. I guess it is where it is so it can, but best part of 6 quid a pint sometimes
S. L.
Great little pub, huge selection of beers and real ales.. Fantastic staff.
C. G. E.
My favourite pub in london. Some of the best food and best ale you'll get any where. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, never too busy. Top stuff
J. M.
Great cosy pub with great beers and food is top notch. Sadly misses 5 stars because of a shortage of vinegar in the condiment department.
R. L.
Brilliant service, walked in off the street as a group of 10, upstairs to cool room with projector for world cup. Food was excellent, recommend the beef on a Sunday.
T. C.
Decent selection of beers, just a very small bar area with the upstairs closed. Seems to attract an after work place for locals.
R. T.
Lovely roast dinner. Food perfect.
J. M.
The place is OK and has an OK selection of f beer, but it's the kind of place you likely want to stand on the curb to enjoy your beer with friends. Not my kind of place.
p. t.
i asked the guy behind the bar to put the footy on Aston Villa v West Brom he cheerfully agreed, as a west brom fan i wish he had;nt bothered but i can;t hold that against the pub, good craic, seemed to have a endless stream of people calling in bit pricey for a black country bloke but the beer was good.

Lovely food. The taste hit the spot for a traditional Sunday roast despite the modern age. Great staff too!
J. N.

R. O.
Nice little pub found just behind tower bridge. Good range of beer and decent food
C. R.
Nice enough place - but £6.50 for a pint of 5.4% Kernel takes the p**s a bit - it's brewed about a mile away?
This is London I suppose.
