Reviews of Dirty Dicks

We had a great time here, watching the rugby. The seating and table set up was great and close to the screen. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly the whole time and the food and drinks were perfect! Will definitely be rebooking in the future!
E. S.
Love the interior look of the place, don't know how old this particular establishment is, but the beams and brickwork look as though they have been lived in for a long time and I mean that in the best possible way. Fast and friendly service. Oh, and they have beer which is always nice. Thanks!
C. A.
Really good red wines, I can especially recommend the last one on the list. For the first time I’ve seen a clean (actually clean) Ladies room in a London pub- what a nice surprise! Tables are arranged in such a way that different customers are not disturbing one another. The customer service was faultless, waitresses taking empty glasses away discreetly, yet NOT trying to take it from you when you still drinking. Had fun there, thanks!
C. p.
Love this spot... don't let the name fool you. Nice classic pub with good food. Can get a bit busy on the weekend, but all good.
O. T. Z.
This place feels like it could be haunted when the doors close. Sitting at the mouth of the Jack the Rippers trail. Sip your drips and enjoy the banter. Just remember don't get left alone in there when closing time comes.
A.
Good experience, friendly staff gets very busy on a Saturday evening. Seating is limited. Toilet cubicles feel really small but have interesting reads on the wall from people that visit and share their problems!
G. S.
Classic and historic London pub. Good drinks, good energy and a fascinating back story. I've enjoyed myself there on multiple occasions
A. O. D.
I visited last Friday with my boyfriend, the supervisor Dieter was amazing, so attentive and had great recommendations. Food was served quickly, and the drinks Dieter recommended were delicious. We will 100% be back to visit again soon.
s. d.
Good, that's fine and there people young olso people old but it's okay tonight is tonight the weekend
S. W.
Crowded. A hotch potch of City and Shoreditch clientele. Fine for a couple of loud pints if you're passing while you head somewhere else, but there are dozens of better pub's and bars within 500m of this one. Hard to recommend.
K. K.
Really would like to give a special thank you to Dieter (waiter from Barcelona, hope I am getting your name right!) who was so kind and considerate on Saturday when a table of men started throwing things and generally being agressive. It was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by the bar staff and Dieter made a special effort to check in with us (4 women) and make sure we were okay :)
M. G.
First time I've been here and it's very good! Not what I was expecting inside, quite atmospheric. Bit pricey for a pint but that's the location.
D. K.
Real Ale is Young's, which isn't what it was, but they have Proper Job, which is usually excellent. A pint is over £5. Food will set you back about £14 for a plant burger. However, the pub interior is great. Try upstairs to get away from the hubbub downstairs.

Was in this lovely establishment last night, wow what an experience, I have visited many bars in the area as I work near Liverpool Street but the service and welcoming manor of the staff here was second to none.
A special thanks to Dieter and Patricia who are a credit to any organization providing a fantastic human touch to my evening, till we meet again.
I. F.
Great bar for spending time catching up with friends. Reasonable selection of beers including a couple of beavertown offerings plus the usual refreshing lagers. Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon there during the Christmas buildup. There's some interesting furniture to admire and an upstairs dining area also.
C.
Great pub just opposite Liverpool Street Station. Plenty of seating and standing as well as an upstairs area. Regularly visit there after work for a drink after visiting the office
A. M.
Great atmosphere as always.
Love popping in as my great great grandfather worked there and we still have the pen knife he was issued.
K. S.
Visited here for the first time recently. It is an old school thats dim lit and is cozy. The drinks prices are standard/reasonable.
K. S.
Food choice limited on the day but what we had was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
M. L.
Love this place for a quick drink. Traditional decor inside makes you feel back in time and it’s always busy with people with good music.
Must visit this place for a fun drinking night.
Also must try the mulled cider, it’s just amazing, better then mulled wine I have tried different places.
M. K.
The old traditional pub with good history and from look you can feel that you are at some old British pub. Separate place for dining on first floor . Public rest room, good ambience and lighting. Various kind of craft beer and ale, wines served with good quality of food. You can have live music in evening and dance anywhere in pub. Good outside security. You can drink and smoke outside the pub. Overall a good place to have drinks.
G. C.
Yesterday I was with my wife and a friend, we were very well received and attended by Dieter. All the while being kind and considerate. I can say the whole team. We will be back more often for sure. For more Pubs with this type of service! Amazing!
T. T.
Dark dingey kinda place you might see in Oliver or the like. It's actually very nice in here with its exposed brick work and timbers. Staff are great in my experience. Right across the road from the station it's always a first stop for me.
K. P.
It was a very chilled out place to hang out, the staff behind the bar were very friendly, even for a novice like me who dont know much about drinks, they made me feel comfortable. the venue is very clean and i like the seating and lighting 👌🏾
J. M.
Cosy pub beside Liverpool St Station with stylish interior and a great array of beers on tap
R. C.
The lovely Italian lady who served us was great. Very friendly and polite service. Never been before but will be back, thanks
P. M.
Loved that they let me in, and kept the lone Fruli I had in my bag on entry, behind the bar for me to pick up when I left. Top service! Very friendly staff throughout.
K. S.
Had my leaving do here, nice and cosy upstairs. Friendly staff and the food was amazing.
R. D.
Very nice bar.
Good selection of beers and plenty of seating.
Good atmosphere and lovely staff!
C. W.
Awesome quirky place, we only had drinks but there is a full seating area upstairs for food.
A. S.
I was curious about this place, having heard about the history behind it. The interior was nice, with some cool looking historic wood and brick. The cabinet of curiosities was the main draw, but it's a bit hidden away. Was super cool to see some of it, though.
Ordered drinks at the bar and perhaps the server was new but he confused my drink order twice, which was hard because it was just a bottle. I was not given, nor offered, a glass.
Went upstairs for food; it was Sunday so opted for the roast chicken, which was dry. The potatoes felt a tad undercooked and the Yorkshire pudding, which boasted double egg, was tough. There was a lot of salt in the food, which was not to my taste. I couldn't finish my meal.
The wait staff were lovely and helpful, which is a plus.
Overall, a one-off visit is fine but I would suggest avoiding the food.
P. W.
Smashing place loved the decor almost has an old ship feel about it-really lovely...apparently there's a few levels but I could only see 2 as disabled there didn't look to be a way up! But there might have been I just didn't ask..they did food too & had friendly staff...definitely recommend just for the look & feel of the place
S. H.
Very old city pub with low beamed ceilings, despite name very clean with good facilities. Gets busy on Saturdays
T. F.
Food was good, service was excellent. Buy as ever, so close to Liverpool Street means lots of hammered people coming in for one for the road, which gets boring.
A. F.
Went for a quick drink on the way home the first time for a lot of years I have been in here much better than I remembered I will put it back on the list to go to . London prices but what do you expect
V. B.
Very cosy, authentic pub with a great selection of beers. I had a very tasty chargrilled chicken and bacon sandwich
K. L.
Everyone has to go there just for the name... Nice bar, friendly staff but can get very busy of an evening although the staff are quick and composed
O.
Great place. Fantastic atmosphere and a very nice feel to it. Friendly staff.
K. P.
Honestly, was really hesitant to have dinner here. Was very loud upstairs upon entry and wasn't sure how good it was going to be. Boy was I mistaken! Aside from our service being pretty slow this place was so fun! Food was fantastic!! Loved how quaint this spot was.
J.
Always drop in when over the city, took a mate in, always a good atmosphere , was better when Dave ran it but it’s still nice place in the city
D. D. R.
Very small but cozy Young's pub. Staff is not the quickest, but very friendly. It can get a bit cramped. The upstairs dining space is a bit more sorted amd relaxes.
P. C.
Couple of perfect conditioned beers on tap, attentive staff, great place to hang out.
v. r.
The ambiance was super and had a lot of fun with team. The only issue was that the tables were so conjusted and every time when the next table person had move then we had to move
J. B.
Excellent atmosphere, good booze and excellent location
T. B.
Good array of beers, friendly staff 👌
V. B.
Great Pub, it has an amazing story, remember to ask about it to someone of the staff
W. M.
Airways enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere, helpful staff, decent Beers. I've not often eaten here, but the burger I had was the best I've ever eaten. Always happy to return
M. T.
This is our go to place for drinks in Liverpool Street. Glad they have kept it as an originally old man's pub & not replaced it with these funky no soul places. It does get very busy during peak hours in the afternoons.
d. w.
Nice place but beer (bitter) is far too cold
Z. B.
Nice pub for the area, not too crowded. Friendly staff.
G. P.
Nice pub, busy but enough seating
s. B.
Barmaid was great didn't catch her name
J. H.
I personally love this place for a lot of things:
- the decor: it looks inside a bit like a boat or a very vintage pub. Which is perfect.
- staff - always friendly and really efficient.
- prices - very reasonable for central London
- sociable place - you can always count to meet someone as everyone here talks and enjoys themselves
Last but not least the music is super cheesy and amazing for nights out!
A. F.
Nice bar, interesting space and lots of fun. Especially Dieter the bartender was great too, very friendly and professional guy - definitely recommend!
S. B.
Cocktails are great and a very cosy ambience. Both female bartenders were friendly and efficient!
L. A.
We had a great time! We went on Sunday, and we were served by a Spanish guy, who was really nice and helpful. We'll definitely come back soon
M. H.
Dieter Was the best waiter I’ve ever had!!! So nice!! The lost Amazing service I’ve ever had :)
B. F.
Great little spot for a drink and bite to eat, there's an upstairs dining area and bar. Had the beef pie and a cider...so good!
J. I.
The ground floor and upstairs were nice but loved the secret basement bar.
C. W.
Really lovely upstairs dining spaces that make you feel as though you've got the place to yourself. Good tasting all around menu with someone for everyone.
S.
It's a nice well located pub. The staff are lovely, but it vets very crowded and very loud
J.
The food and drinks were great! The staff is what makes the experience! Wonderful group! Best service you can ask for! So friendly and welcoming! The history of the place is pretty mind blowing as well!
s. s.
Violleta and her crew were superstars! What cheerful professional service - excellent!
F. S.
Reasonable prices, good energy. Could do with more seating downstairs
L. A.
Good little pub with good beer and great atmosphere
M. G. d. C.
James was just super kind...and helpfull ...great costumer service provider.. food is amazing ! drinks r perfect !
N. W.
Despite its tourist trap image they served a cracking pint of Proper Job cask ale when I visited.
M. R.
Ace place for a drink! Loved checking out the history on this place too! Must read for anyone visiting!
C. C.
Captured by the attractive name, we couldn't miss this place! Wooden pub, warm atmosphere, It's what we found! It was full of people with no seat available. Good choice of drinks and just few step walk to the underground station.
K. W.
The roast was exceptional and the staff delivered the warmest welcome to England i have gotten this far!
K. R.
Great atmosphere, in a lovely building. Friendly staff.
D. M.
decent post work pub. Tamer and 'better' than name and location might suggest.
M. M.
funny name, good beer
J. E.
Love this pub and it's fantastic location right opposite Liverpool Street
m. j.
Great atmosphere, our bottle of beer and bacardi was £11, the Duke of Wellington around the corner was half the price
s. n. u.
pet friendly pub however it closes early.
x.
Popped in here after reading the history of the place. Beer was ok but not much choice of craft and real ales
A. S.
Good venue and atmosphere with friendly staff.
J. J.
Great Venus to meet friends in the City of London opposite Liverpool Street Station.
m. c.
Nice pub, really nice restaurant area upstairs
J.
So good place, my favourite in Liverpool Street.
B. B.
Good auld fashioned pub, great choice of real ales!
K. “. K. P. A.
Must visit! Over 460 year old pub. Great vibe!
C. T.
Nice enough place; very busy on a Sunday night
P. M.
Brings back a lot of memories when my dad took me here a long time ago
L. S.
Standard London pricing but lovely cosy atmosphere
j. m.
Brilliantly interesting old style pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.
J. S.
Nice place and friendly staff but toilets are quite a state
F. G. (.
Not a bad place busy more of an evening.
D. D.
A nice dark, cozy pub atmosphere and good cask ale.
J. W.
Wonderful service. Best person ever. Really lovely. Helped me with my Spanish. Thank you Dieter !!
R. L. C. P.
Funny name, nice pub in front of Liverpool street station.
Food is tasty with sufficient portions, staff is friendly.
J. S.
Lovely pub. The staff were absolutely lovely.
S. B.
Have been here loads, was served by Dieter quality service fast efficient, friendly and really helpful will definitely be coming back! Hope he is still here!!
I. B.
Wonderful old time experience with a great selection of drinks
P. F.
Only came here to do alarm service, but staff and management were great. Thanks
A.
Always a laugh in the City. It is next to the City of London main cop shop. So behave.
D. L.
Great atmosphere, staff are lovely too!
A. B.
Legendary pub! A must go in East London
C. D.
Amazing pub. And the diner upstairs is really good.
M. D. S.
This is quite a large establishment, considering the area it's in.
This means it can be a good place for larger meet ups, which is great as it's not far from Liverpool Street station.
The staff here were polite and informative. We accidentally moved into a reserved area and rather than just telling us to get out the staff member tools is that it was reserved and that there were places downstairs, but the upstairs was pretty busy.
Even though it's quite large the overall volume of the place wasn't as loud as other pubs in the area, so it's a good place to have a catch up, or just chat after work.
M. B.
Nice pub but toilet stinks!
a. h.
Historically significant Youngs pub in the heart of the City of London. Great atmosphere, great beer.
P. O.
Good atmosphere, just slightly cramped for a party of ten.
R. S.
Good vibes in the basement bar, great table slapping for all. Staff are friendly and responsibly stop serving you when you've had too much to drink.
j. i.
We went in here for a quick lunch. Oh wow, the spicy chicken wings were the best I have had in London! So juicy and crunchy at the same time. There isn’t much atmosphere in here though. All the bar staff were friendly enough. A nice place to go and have a quick lunch!
M. R.
Average pub with above average prices
R. G.
A great little quiet boozer this. All sorts of dirty tricks happening here!
S. B.
James, You are so attentive, thank you for making us feel so welcome ❤️ Dieter James
C. F.
Poor menu choices. Went for a burger which was just ok.
I. K.
Nice boozer hasn't changed in years
L. G.
Have to say a really decent all rounder!
The bar staff are all really friendly and efficient which means you never have to wait long for your drinks to be served.
The food was served quickly and the prices are very decent considering the location.
The standard was good too.
There is a follow up with a waiter to make sure all is okay, which for such a busy place that is equally as stand up and drink or sit and eat is quite unusual.
The toilets were keep clean and tidy throughout a Saturday evening, which is no mean feat in a central London pub with this much footfall.
It's narrow and long, and has nooks and crannies but all in all, always happy to stop in here for a couple of drinks or eat sausage and mash or the fish and chips!
S. S.
See the doorman , ever have any trouble kick him in the leg - his leg is knackard up
M. S.
It is a nice place to have some drinks, but the food it’s not good at all. Not fresh and cold. Attention was good and not very expensive.
I. d. C.
Known to anyone who has been in the area mostly due to it's characteristic name this pub is a bit of a surprise. Lovely staff and busy enough yet not too busy. Beautiful and cosy on the inside with a decent draft selection and a great cask ale selection. Next time you're around come on in and have one
İ. D.
Amazing place with very friendly staff! The story of the place amazed me particularly, definitely will go again!
R. B.
A nice place to have a beer on the way home
K. M.
This is cool pub in Central London. It was actually out first stop for lunch once we got off the train from the airport. The vibe is nice inside, the staff are lovely, the food.....is like most other London pubs where the menu repeats. Fish and chips were pretty good, but the chefs special from the board outside, was the pork loin which was far to dry. But they do have sweet potato fries!
S. C.
Service was amazing specifically Patricia and dieter were amazing servers and enjoyed the atmosphere a lot
D. P.
Not a bad spot for a quick sit and a beer. We arrived about an hour too soon (they don't start serving food until noon), so we were a little disappointed, but it was not bad overall. They could turn the music volume down just a little, though.
S. P.
The beer was good. The bartender had excellent pouring skills. The only downfall is that the website did not indicate that the kitchen opened later than the bar. We stopped by about 10:30 for lunch and the kitchen was not open yet so we were very disappointed had one beer and left.
edit: We were disappointed that we couldn't order food. The bar was fantastic, but our intention was lunch...
S. M.
Nice quiet pub that doesn't play loud music if you fancy a chat. Wasn't busy when I was there but it was a Sunday afternoon. Chips are very nice as are the staff and location well handy if heading to Brick Lane or Spitalfields Market.
F. E.
Lovely service and great cocktails, I've been a couple of times now and had a great time both times!
S. N.
Surprisingly nice and quiet, also spacious upstairs. [Additional Comment]: to be fair I think this is one of the best pubs I've been too for after work drinks in the area; was live but quiet and calm on a Thursday night upstairs!
B. S.
The name alone makes you want to stop and have a pint! Once inside you will stay for more! Great staff and fast service
Y. T.
Would highly recommend - Thai BBQ offers a change from the norm - excellent bream, courgette curry and my son especially liked the wings. Staff easy and friendly. Prices reasonable. Would have given 5 stars except some of dishes just warm and I prefer my food hot.
E. c.
Fun traditional pub, good mix of people having after work drinks, locals and tourists. Gets busy, especially on a Friday evening. Good selection of beer and ciders on tap, I'd probably not choose to eat here, there's lots of better places for food in the area.
K. T.
Good pub decent beer
S. L.
Bar staff not engaging enough
M. S.
Track and trace app enforced on entry which was refreshing to see. Tables spaced apart and the gins were flowing. We had a great, safe time.
D. M.
Here i go again, I'm not into pubs but i keep finding myself in them lately .
Anyway, this is a lovely pub, good atmosphere. And if like me ,you like older looking pubs instead of these corporate looking drinking establishments, you will enjoy this place .
S.
A beautiful traditional pub with lots of character. A great place to escape from the countless skyrise office environments that frequent the area. Fantastic beer and a wonderful choice of hearty meals that really do compliment each other.
F. J.
Traditional pub and a great atmosphere
E. O. D.
Cant actually remember being here, which, as you all know,is a sign of a good night. Girlfriend told me I didn't make a fool of myself, bought some people drinks and all in all i was a sound lad. The lads behind the bar are class. The dancefloor is non existent, but nobody minds if you stand anywhere and shake your ass. 5/5 would recommend.
E. P.
A wonderful Albanian manager on the 28th of December around 1:30am was extremely helpful and polite. Charged my phone and was super nice. Beer that I got in a meantime was also very nice. Thank you!
T. D.
Great pub for a lunch time beer and food at good prices
A. J.
Best pub in London
J. G.
The best blue cheese burger I've had in an age. Friendly service. Well priced. Love the dark wood old school bar. Not enough of them left!!
C. G.
Ancient pub with wood beams, steaped in character with tasty cold beers, what more do you need from a pub?
P. R.
Upstairs is a restaurant - nice food well priced.
Ground floor is a busy pub - good selection and random crowds. Not great.
Basement is a cocktail bar - this is where you want to go. Some good knowledgeable staff and some less so. See if the Italians are working.
C. B.
Big crowd of us (spurs supporters) descended on this pub at 10am on a Saturday morning. 2 bar staff were exceptional. Been here many times and never disappoints.
D. N.
Venue is quite big. Interior looks nice. Selection of beverages is decent enough. Does get very loud in the evening. Although it's mostly a pub the music gets loud and does not allow for good conversation. We had to seek out a less loud spot upstairs.
U. G.
Nice pub to get drinks. Perfect location with Liverpool Street Station just across the street. You can take your drinks outside, corner location makes it less crowded with passerbys, or drink inside where there's plenty of space to sit and stand. They have good selection of drinks. Didn't try the food, but they do serve some.
C. R.
Proper traditional old pub, can just imagine the sawdust on the floor with the sound of tankards clanging!
A. D.
Friday night visit so was quite busy and a few early drinkers starting to feel the effects of early doors drinking. Good beers, slightly pricey but thats London. Good pub.. Fast service.
N. D.
Very busy pub with crowds of drinkers. A location for meeting mates and heading out for an evening round spitalfields. Definately more if a boozer than somewhere to eat.
E. S.
An old timey pub with relatively cheap drinks. The food is the standard pub selection and for the most part is excellent. Staff is very friendly and make an effort to clear tables quickly so that customers can sit down. They have a great selection of local beers as well as the standard beers. Nice place on the corner of a very busy intersection.
L. W.
I like the oldest of that pub. It shows a different side. Of London aside that we all forgotten about but when I go in there and I see the Deco well, that's it. I'll stop and have a few. It definitely brings back some sort of memorie
M. N.
I've been here on 2 ocassions - Halloween and New Year. The ambient is super cozy and the pub is beautiful, with plenty of secluded spaces for privacy and old features. We had great cocktails on Halloween and the bar staff were all in disguise, which made it quite fun. I can't remember if there was music, as we were able to converse quietly which is exactly what I want in a pub. On New Year's we came for more cocktails, but the bar downstairs was unfortunately closed so we'll have to try again some other time. The staff upstairs were very friendly and tried to be helpful, but they didn't know why the downstairs was closed and when/if it would open. This makes me think pub managers/owners could do a better job at informing and training their staff, who are often underpaid and underqualifies to do their jobs correctly. I hope my feedback gives them a heads-up and contributes to make this place as great as it can be.
P. C.
Despite the name, it's a really nice pub and it was open later than others in the area.
E. P. M.
This would be a good pub for drinks but not for food. We had our Christmas party here and waited 1hr 30mins for our food to arrive, even though we pre-ordered everything in advance, and it wasn't that busy. The wait between courses was so long that by the time dessert arrived we weren't hungry anymore. The staff were very nice and we were offered 2 bottles of wine as compensation but we won't be eating here again.
A. T.
Went for drinks last night. Great pub and atmosphere. Very clean, and awesome service. Our bartender for the night, Anton, was very fast, friendly, and funny. We will definitely be back soon!:)
S. D.
Waited half hour for our roast to arrive, stone cold when it did 😔 I was offered some hot gravy to warm it up, I sent it back for it to be warmed up... Could of done with more vegetables especially when your paying £17 for one meal.
S. M.
It's a jewel in the Young's crown but has to follow the same everything as every other London Young's pub.
If they gave it some autonomy and a better, more diverse range of products.
It's a shame, its a beautiful pub, but just feels like another Young's pub
N. B.
Best barmans in town!
Great variety in music !
The best place to celebrate your drunk nights.
The one place where strangers interact and dance with each other
It's a fusion of a pub and a club.
Having Liverpool Street station opposite is a blessing.
Overall it gets 5/5
A. F.
The pub is attractive & historic, if a bit overdone so that it looks rather like a "Disney" version of a "ye olde English pub". The drinks are overpriced, but not out of line with many other London bars and the barmen are friendly enough. The pub is open late, at least it was on the day we were there, and attracts a diverse crowd, so it has its charms.
I. D. m. i. E.
Not as dirty as you might think, 3 in one/// a public house authentic with histories over 200 years, dining up stairs with photo s,min gallery, the place, the deals, the secrets, have a beer and you might hear.. excellent staff and management , this is the team,, working together in high spirit and very helpful to all,one two hours ,or evening,5*+easier five star plus highly recommended.
R. P.
Visited years ago when there was a cellar bar with money from visitors stuck on the wall. Very full of character. Now... no cellar & crowded bar. There is some seating upstairs which can take the pressure off downstairs however didn't see many people using it. Beer was OK but overpriced as usual. What let's it down are the loos which are in serious need of refurbishment & cleaning at the time. Lack of bar staff for awhile meant a wait for drinks.
M. P.
Right opposite Liverpool Street station. Can be crowded downstairs, good seating for food upstairs. Excellent sausage and mash. Staff were great when I was there. Toilets clean. All in all very recommended.
C. M.
The atmosphere was amazing the staff were fantastic the food was excellent
S. R.
Busy pub right next to Liverpool street... good beer too
L. H.
My first time here on a recommendation from friends and it was a fascinating small bar which is completely original, I only gave 4 stars because We only had a couple of beers and didn’t have time to eat but from what I could see the food looked great.
S. T.
Quite average bar close to Liverpool Street but it is open till late. Very dark. But they did play some decent music to dance too so not all bad.
Wouldn't be my 1st choice to go to, but equally there are worse places. Come here if it's midnight and the pub you've just been to has shut and you can't be bothered to go further afield.
d. g.
is nice place and good stuff
E. W.
Nice pub within the city of London. Does get extremely busy at weekends and evenings. However it has a nice feel, plenty of places to sit and a good range of drinks.
L. R.
Good service, funky pub
A. C.
Nice cosy pub with great pub food which me and my colleagues have frequented over the years. They recently refurbished the place and only reopened a few months back, and the place looks fantastic, with some nice old school photos and ornaments. Upstairs is now a sit down restaurant and the basement is a cocktail bar. Ground floor is still the regular pub with a decent variety of beers. I like the meantime beer which is brewed locally in Greenwich. These days we tend to go upstairs into the restaurant and order some nibbles and have a nice sit down with our drinks.
R. A.
Nice pub that's always seems to be full. That's a good sign.
D. S.
Huge pub over three floors on Bishopsgate, opposite Liverpool Street Station. Probably a little too big for my personal taste but really popular with regulars, tourists or those just passing by.
Good selection of beers, well kept and the staff remain really friendly, despite how busy it gets.
Would have given it four stars but met a wheelchair-bound friend there recently and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly towards him, without being patronising - and it was pretty busy at the time. So, for me, that warrants the additional star.
L. M.
Very good food and prices. Kind service. And just next to Liverpool station.
T. R.
Aesthetically great. Staff lovely. Very very pricey but right next to Liverpool St Station so relying on the Essex crowd coming in.
s. c.
Great place for a chill drink on Sunday night
F. B.
Very busy pub! Has great character but sadly it is so busy you don't get chance to appreciate it. The Vault room downstairs hosts events - comedy, lectures etc. It is very hot and stuffy! There are nicer pubs in the area but it is a convenient location.
G. L.
Amazing atmosphere, extremely fun and close to the station!! Only thing that was weird was that a guy that wasn't getting served who they kept saying was drunk, but the guy was definitely more sober compared to me...when I handed the guy my drink ..was threatened to get kicked out ...made me kinda annoyed
F. V.
Cool dark and dingy looking spot in London. Took my Grandma for a coffee and to be honest was very surprised the place didn't have any lacto-free options available. Was met with a distasteful look when asked which was confusing as the guy's style was screaming hipster. Think they have live piano music on certain nights? But that could be the joint behind them
B. Z.
It manages to have a personality as you expect a pub to have but some how fitting in with the city vibe. The staff are nice and friendly too.
m. m.
Great to get a sense of normality, popping in to DD’s after work
There were a few small adjustments however I felt very safe and comfortable
Looking forward to plenty more good times I’m the future 🍻
A. W.
Nice place. Great service. Prices are decent for London.
C. G. A.
It was a real discovery. It was just beside of our bus stopped. We decided to have some food and a drink. The food was really good. It is a good value for money. The place is charm, cosy, interesting history behind.
J. L.
Lovely traditional pub.
S.
Very best pub in town. The weekly newsletter is amazing! So sad that we are so far away. Best greetings from southern Germany. We will come back one day.
J. R.
Proper old school london boozer serving pints of genuine real ale. They have other stuff if you're that way inclined but if you are in the Liverpool Street / Bishops Gate area, this is the best. Oak beams, old tables, yellow walls, the lot.
S. Q.
Very cool place! Have a visit!
C. Z.
Lovely place bit packed
A. S. L.
Expensive. Tourist trap. (Because of the name) Good, if you want to meet randoms. I'm not giving it a bad review. It's just too expensive. Over £5 for a beer. If it was alot cheaper I'd give it 5 stars.
J. O.
Great atmosphere great pub
L. H.
Thanks for a great night. Had booked a table upstairs for a group of 20 and the space was perfect. Staff are really helpful and friendly and the food and drinks are great. Great vibe in the pub and opposite the station too :)
s. g.
Just popped in with Wife to finish off our holiday/honeymoon week for a few drinks. Clean, tidy, reasonable prices but staff made it different with humour and sarcasm.
S. Y.
My first night out in London for a good meal unfortunately it didn’t works. Ordered Angus beef with watercress. The beef was over cooked to medium which I ordered medium rare. Instead of watercress it was rockets. The meal failed. Perhaps Should have ordered simple meal. But the watiter is attentive. Good place for drinks.
I. T.
Good pint and friendly staff
P. E.
Been nearly 40 years since I last went there, was upstairs, could do with a refresh as decor a little tired, Great location for Liverpool Street
E. G. C.
Was a great pub with room upstairs and off street smoking area. Not too busy for after work drink and the food was good. Speedy service and pleasent staff.
V. A.
Seemed like an interesting place to check out, inside was nice and not too loud, however no drinks carte in sight and staff too busy to pay much attention to someone seeking advice. Got hassled by a very obtrusive bathroom attendant when trying to change a £20 note as I had no coins for a tip, initially only got £15 back and when asked for coins got £2 and sprayed on with perfume even as I protested that I don't want it; then he got angry when I asked for the rest of my money back and virtually shoved me out of the lavatory. Eventually resolved the matter with help from the manager but the mood was irreversibly spoiled so had to leave the place. Maybe better luck another time, just have to remember not to have any money in sight of the greedy bathroom man.
D. C.
Great steak ale pie, filling and delicious. Atmosphere is lively, and traditional venue. Staff are very friendly and helpful too!
A. S.
I've visited the place a couple times now. Good atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. Everything is perfect, it's a great pub, on the other hand, they need more staff.
J. E.
Atmospheric, historic pub just opposite Old Street. It is a great place for meeting people or for an after work swift one. Quite a nice range of whiskey.
C. S.
Not dirty anymore yet nice
B. M.
Nice little pub near to Liverpool Street station. Had the burger and a pint which was just shy of £20, so not cheap. Nice discreet seating available.
J. B.
Nice friendly staff good atmosphere
R. C.
It is a very warm and cosy place. The interior is amazing. Staff are efficient and friendly. Great location. Just across the road from London liverpool street station.
D. M.
Great pub and great food
G. H.
Historic old pub. My fist visit for 30 years and it hasn't changed much. I remember it from before it was refurbished in mid 80's when it was literally spit n' sawdust floor and animals suspended from the ceiling. Photos of how it was then on walls.
N. D.
Great laid back vibes, busy on the weekend but easily enjoyable for drinks with friends. Food is reasonable and price is quite respectable given its location
A. C.
A bit pricey for the fish and chips. Also I felt like the server was pushing us to leave, even though it was an empty dining room and I admit we we're two people sitting on a booth, but probably only three other tables were filled. Eventually they moved us even in an empty dining room, the server told us the booth was reserved. We stayed for a while after and never saw anyone.
R. J.
Love this pub, handy place, lots of suits but also good mix.usually drop in here on rtn from holiday.only thing was they were blasting out heavy UK street music which I liked but didn't seem to suit most business people and was way loud.
T. O.
Not dirty. The dirty Richard lol
D. W.
Standard London boozer
Oak panels and creaking floorboards, sticky surfaces and a decent range of beers, bitters, lagers and spirits.
Over two floors, this place serves food in the upstairs dining room as well as another small bar.
This place is a mix of tourists, city types and creatives from nearby Shoreditch.
J. L.
Ah, so this is where all the cool people go. Great place, lots of little cubby holes so can be cosy as well as loud.
They have two well managed bars so never a queue to get a drink even when busy.
S. T.
Quite average bar close to Liverpool Street but it is open till late. Very dark. But they did play some decent music to dance too so not all bad. …
I. B.
Great atmosphere! Good choice of drinks. The barmaid didn't speak much English and was a little rude, but overall great experience!
V.
Rodrigo was a fantastic server. Ask for him when you go
S. P.
The beer was good. The bartender had excellent pouring skills. The only downfall is that the website did not indicate that the kitchen opened later than the bar. We stopped by about 10:30 for lunch and the kitchen was not open yet so we …
K. G.
Great customer Service, amazing food to enjoy with good company
L. H.

W. B.
Great traditional pub that we've used for many years. Only three stars though because of the intensively loud music. Why?
X.
Do not worry it is kid friendly, because the name was just about a dirty warehouse. The food is phenomenal, and the service is amazing. 9/10
J. B.
Cosy pub, lots of character
I. B.
Great atmosphere! Good choice of drinks. The barmaid didn't speak much English and was a little rude, but overall great experience!
D. M.
Food was good, but felt like they where very keen on getting us out of the door. Every time we put our cutlery down, the waitress was ready to take out plate, even though the place wasn't all that busy
M. “. O. K.
Not a bad place to have a few drinks after work. Gets quite busy with the 'city' types but those in the know head upstairs and grab one of the non-dining tables that allow you to have a conversation without shouting!
P. K.
A very nice and cozy place, it's a welcome break from all the hassle around and with it's wooden interior it pulls you away from the glass, metal and marble building all around. The prices are high, but within the Central London norm. Usually really crowded.
M. B.
YOU CANT HELP BUT LIKE THIS OLD PUB MY FIRST VISIT WAS 1957,MY DAD AND I WENT FOR A MEAL,THE FOOD WAS SUPERB,AND A GREAT CHOICE OF BEERS, I WAS SO IMPRESSED, I LOST COUNT OF THE NUMBER TIMES I WENT BACK FOR MORE,GREAT NIGHT OUT FOR A GROUP, OUR

THE SAME CAN BE DONE TO THIS DAY. TAKE A CHANCE ,BE LIKE ME,GO ONCE YOU WILL BE HOOKED🇬🇧🍺🍯🇬🇧
R. T.
Good in its day old hat now
W. B.
Great traditional pub that we've used for many years. Only three stars though because of the intensively loud music. Why?
N. H.
What a great pub!
J.
It looks great in the inside but the staff and atmosphere are very average. There are definitely better pubs around but it's worth going visiting at least once.
M. F.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff
R. F.
Amazing place steeped in old English charm. Fascinating to think people have been drinking in here since 1745!! 😳Wow that's a lot of beer right! 😂
c. c.
Good fun, open late and decent beers. It's a boozer but a fun one. Don't expect fine wines and great food but get drunk and have fun.
P. A.
Contrary to what the name suggests, nearly everyone in this establishment seemed clean enough. good selection of drinks and nice atmosphere
A. K.
Dirty dicks is worth a visit, just to see the interior! The pub is charming, with its old, wooden beams and Elizabethan feel. We did not order food when we visited this pub, however, the drinks were decent and typical london prices! Worth a visit and very conveniently located to liverpool street station.
K. G.
Having giggled over the name for years, I finally popped inside this place recently. The decor is suprisingly charming - it's got a very old, 'Elizabethan public house' feel, with low ceilings and little wooden booths for gossiping. Sadly nowadays it's full of suits, and has a weird open smoking area in the front which makes the whole place smell of old man!
S. S.
Good selection of rum, which is my spirit of choice. A fair bit of seating which is nice for somewhere in town. A tad expensive, but it is right opposite the station.
G. C.
First went here when I was in my 20s and it was literally spit and sawdust. Came across the place accidentally on a walk about, no more sawdust :0( Still the place has atmosphere and a good pint
P. W.
I have been using Dirty Dicks for over a year on both week days and weekends for both a social meeting point and for comedy events held downstairs. Dirty Dicks is always friendly with efficient staff. The bar area is laid out with numerous small seating areas that allows for groups to have a degree of privacy in this busy bar. Situated close to Liverpool Street train station and easy bus access outside it is easy to travel to and from.
I.
Nice pub for the most part. Insufficient policing of smokers near the entrabce means an odour of stale cigarette smoke prevails on days that when the doors are open. Nice otherwise!
L. H.
Cool pub with great beer selection
R. K.
Very friendly pub....staff and manager made me, my colleagues and dog very welcome. Wine was that good I had far too much...great
m. K.
Nice little hide away near Liverpool street. Pub still has an old London feel. Price is reasonable
P. B.
an ancient pub with lots of character. beer is good and there is enough seating. A popular pub after work, so its busy in the evenings
P. D.
I thought it would suck but it's actually quite good! Pub food is decent and it's not terribly full on weekends so you can actually have space to talk with your friends.
J. B.
Beautiful old style pub in the centre, worth 1 drink just to sit on a table that is a butchers block
y. p.
In front of Liverpool station..so easy to get via tube. Nice music and good place to have a pint. They closed earlier even when it said closing time was 3 A.M when I was there.
s. S.
Nice cosy bar. Bar food surprisingly good. Not a great beer range. Friendly staff.
D. B.
Incredible place. Traditional and modern at the same time. Ni e choice of beers and nice cocktails. Very recommended.
S. S.
A rabbit Warren of a pub, fully refurbished and leaving no trace as to why it got it's name in the first place. All the dead cats, rats, bank notes and business cards are long gone, leaving just another standard pub with historical prints and allusions to history, a pity!
M. M. W. T.
After 40 years Serbians come's again here...!!! 😎😎😎😂😂😂
P. K.
good character pub ,bit busy at times but the up stairs bar is ideal for grabbing a great burger
L. S. (.
A bit rough. A haven for suits after 5.30pm on a week night.
There's a bit of history to this place so when inside it's not all that bad.
Probably wouldn't go back unless I needed the toilet in passing.
G. C.
Not a bad place to go, food okay. Nice atmosphere. Some staff could do with a little less attitude.
s. h.
Good atmosphere, and very attentive staff. Food, one meal excellent, the steak. The other, the house pie special, definitely not so special.
J. S.
Absolutely fabulous service, great food and fantastic beers! You guys really made two weary travellers' day. Cheers!
J. S.
I was here for more than 30 years ago and it's still the same, except the cats. They have put them behind the glass. Absolutely a place to visit!!! I will come back again
T. C.
A nice pub with a fantastic wooden interior that makes me wish to experience pub as it was in the 18th Century. The modern chandelier lets the place down, though.
S. L.
Good service, great selection of drinks but a bit overpriced. £27 for a standard bottle of wine.
M.
Good historic pub. Well worth a visit if your in the area.
Good selection of beers which is always a plus
T. S.
It's a fun pub, friendly vibe, bit expensive, but that's London. Playing upbeat music. Got Quick service at 6pm on a Thursday.
R. R.
Good beer (Young's special) and very lively.. We even had table service to refill our pints...
D. O. L.
Top bar! While my memory of the night is pretty hazy, I do remember it being full and buzzing, and I think they served my tequila shots chilled, which is a nice touch.
X.
Do not worry it is kid friendly, because the name was just about a dirty warehouse. The food is phenomenal, and the service is amazing. 9/10
N. M.
The name has put me off going in here for years. You can't miss the neon lights which adds to the affect flashing at you from opposite liverpool street station. It's very wooden inside, kind of reminds me of what country western film with wooden barrels for tables. Quite cheap for the area.
S. H.
Pretty good for a pub in this location. Kids only aloud upstairs after 6-ish. Interesting decor. Not as dirty as the name suggests.
T. N.
Very nice place to meet up with people after work. Just opposite the road from Liverpool Station, it can get a bit crowded on Thursday and Fridays. A wonderful mystique of a place
S. F.
Nice pub even better name. Good atmosphere. Slighlty annoying man selling big issue outside. Will use again if in the area.
H. T.
Good bar lively atmosphere good selection of beers and wine prices okay what you would expect to pay in the area.
K. ™.
Had a blast during new years 2020, great service, the Lithuanian bartender from Vilnius was lovely and very helpful.
C. D.
I was expecting this place to be really sketchy but when I walked in it was not only quite wonderful inside, the staff was great, and it was extremely clean. The bathrooms were also really clean.
T. F.
Great pint, good atmosphere, can't go wrong 👍
K. L.
Great customer service, nice place to chill
B. C.
Cozy old pub. The downstairs has a bit of a strange layout but drinks are reasonably priced for central London.
M. B.
Great old London pub - superb drinks and service. Good location to stop off for a pint or two!
D. B.
Good pub. It overpriced! Double vodka with cranberry juice for £10! We're decide walk back to weatherspoon pub £5 cheaper!
T. S.
Quaint little bar with good choice of ales. Not overly busy (but was a Wednesday afternoon). Food choice seems pricey but hey, we are in London.
J. J.
This place has a really great vibe to it. The food was great and the waiter was so sweet! :) Def recommend!
R. K.
One of the few bars open in the City at 10 am on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff and a nice selection on tap.
N. G.
Very nice pub with lot of beer 😳😳 And absolutely Anton very fast bartender and very good quality I was very impressed about this plaice! See you soon again Guys!!!
K. G.
Great customer Service, amazing food to enjoy with good company
I. V. B.
Very nice old pub. Though they slightly changed the ' in Dick' s...it's actually a very comfy place to share drinks with your friends, l
J. E.
Really interesting space, seems a bit dingy but you quickly get used to it and it really fits the name. Good place for an after work drink, decent drinks selection if a little expensive on the cocktail front.
A. P. R.
Quite packed, lively had wait awhile to order a drink which is to be expected, given time of the day & month. Good evening overall!
S. P.
Great atmosphere and full of nostalgia. Friendly staff with some good food and nice selection of beers.
J. V.
Trendy bar with a buzzing vibe and affordable drinks. Great seating arrangements upstairs makes this a great place to come for a night out after work.
M. T.
Best open mic comedy night in London! Hilariously funny and packed. Traditional english pub with all you need for a good evening.
i. m.
Wow what an amazing bar. It feels like walking back into history with all the hotch porch of beams. Great selection of beers.
B. N.
Very nice place. It has a traditional look inside and staff is very friendly. Lots of beer and ales to choose from.
f. s.
Great boozer. Friendly staff. Drinks are expensive but you're in Central London, so drinks are expensive everywhere.
A. H.
It doesnt have a wide variety of beers but good for a catch up , it has an old pub feel to it and general crowd is comely
E.
Nice wings and burger, slightly over the top prices but it is london after all...
M. M.
Not one of my favourite bars in London due to being situated so close to Liverpool Street station (Very busy) and a very average beer selection.
J. H.
Beer is okay, but other things are not very...
- beer taste was not my style (sorry it's personal)
- inside was smelly
K. P.
Nice old school pub, with some interesting history too. Not many proper pubs left in the area. Good mix of people.
G. H.
Really nice friendly pub, just across the road from Liverpool Street station ideal place to have a drink while waiting for your train.
T. T.
Nice cosy venue. I like the interior design, which has character. Only came for drinks but it was nice.
k. l.
Great cocktails in the basement bar, so good we overindulged. Loved the building
S. D.
Nice place, one of the best pubs in the area but could do with a better beer selection
G. M.
Lovely food, friendly staff and authentic Victorian (I believe) feel to the place. Pricing is very reasonable too ££
J.
Ok boozer, but not the cheapest and very crowded when I was in. Service at bar was a bit hit and miss because it was busy. Expect a lot of pushing and shoving to get to bar and dont expect a seat!
S. N.
Was a last minute stop off before catching a train ,
What a lovely place
Covid safe too
Fantastic!!!!
S. C.
Been here a few times. Can get busy but its a good pub to visit to get away from the Liverpool St public.
V. V.
If you're looking for a no frills pub across Liverpool street station with affordable drinks and a good tap list you have found your place.
s. b.
Still got the dead animals out the back
A. B.
Nice place to have Sunday lunch. Would have given 5 stars if they had more veggie choice.
B. L.
Bars quite different in atmosphere but good service and good beer all round
T. B.
A vintage Youngs pub in the City of London on Bishopsgate opposite Liverpool Street Station. The pub takes it's name from Nathaniel Bentley who ran Dirty Warehouse in Leadenhall Street, taking over the business in 1761 from his father, also called Nathaniel Bentley. Although very well educated young Nathaniel saw no need in keeping himself or surroundings clean, he was happy to use the name "Dirty Dick" to refer to himself.
s. 9.
nice place, kind of pub and night club, very nice bartenders and quite busy in night time, so if you like pubs dancing and a busy atmosphere this is a great place
O. T.
Awesome music, great atmosphere, was packed but still get served quickly. Very friendly staff.
C. B.
Great historic pub in the heart of the city. Its always lively and welcoming. Great for a post work beer
L. S.
Nice place to grab a quick drink, not many tables though so expect to stand. Small variety of ales.
J.
Great atmosphere and very lively, great music playing in the background. A very popular pub in London.
P. C.
Very nice Pub. The stuff is Friendly the food is very British. Nice time here.
C. B.
It's a pub. It has good beer. It's not some horrible identikit chain. What more could you want?
N. G.
It's quite cramped inside and the staff behind the bar could be friendlier. I personally also find it a bit too heavy on the wallet.
F. H.
a decent bar even if the drinks are a little pricey. The upstairs is easy to miss but there does tend to be more space up there.
D. B.
Not enough dirty but alright x
j. l.
Nice little pub... Gets pretty crowded tho... Even on week days as it's right next to Liverpool street station
B. P.
Good solid boozer in the heart of Liv St. Smells of a proper pub as you walk in... can find no faults here...
c. h.
Superb pub. Great beer. Good times tunes and character
L. T.
Love this place. Nice interier friendly staff.
M. B.
Went here with a large group. The food was good and we all had a great night out.
M.
Amazing staff and great drinks
A. P.
Nice crowd place to have a pint after work and meeting new people!)
A. S.
Best pub in london. Super friendly staff and great beers. Recommend!
J. G.
A lovely old quirky pub with a good selection of Ales. However it is draughty, I spent most of the evening with my coat on.
R. T.
Nice place to pop into for a few drinks. Friendly bar staff and a nice bar area with a good atmosphere
C. H.
Really cool place to have breakfast, but you need to be hungry ;) good food, and loads of it ;) cool atmosphere, good service - worth a visit
I.
On the pricey side but a very nice ornate pub with a friendly staff and doorstaff.
P. Z.
Hehe. I think is one of the oldest pubs in London and for me personally quality place for a drink
m. h.
Good beer and burgers, onion rings were excellent. Definitely would visit again 👍
S. W.
Attended for a meet up, good drinks. Has snack food was ok. Good place for a meet up.
K. I.
It was alright. We went up to the restaurant area because it was Friday and the bar was so full! It is alright for quick drinks.
M. P.
Cant fault a bar in central london with good beer being busy on a saturday. Probably not for everyone but the ones its not for would not go are the type who would do so because it says "Dick"
T. L.
Popular place. Good crowd but can be a bit rowdy. Not the cheapest of places but for the olde worlde pub atmosphere its the place to go
A. G.
Great atmosphere and staff is lovely. Would always recommend it. (Fun name too)
t. a.
Nice place with a bar downstairs and upstairs. A good range of music playing and helpful staff
s. c.
Excellent fish and chips, not a lot of beers, but very good brands ! I enjoyed it a lot
G. B.
Rather shabby and over priced
J. B.
Can be very busy at peak times, but always a nice atmosphere for a drink after work.
D. P.
Excellent!!! Definitely will come back again!!
Love the environment, love the food and the staff was so nice!!
D. W.
great bar, food tasted good although the portion sizes were quite small
S.
Upstairs and downstairs available to accommodate everyone with bathrooms in both areas. Bathroom stalls are small.
g. t.
Friendly helpful staff, restaurant area upstairs has extra tables for non diners it's a great place and fairly priced considering the area
R. S.
A pub with a great name and with a great atmosphere! They also cook so you can get something to eat with your beer or wine :)
P. J.
Sweet pub to hang out at while waiting for a train. Food's good, ales are good, can't complain!
