Excellent cocktails and a great selection of draught beer. The music was jazzy and interesting so no complaints from me! The Thai menu looks quite attractive too - better than the usual pub menu. Highly recommended.

I visited Firefly for food looking for good Thai in the area. Unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations. The starter was all ready fried food and seemed overpriced for what it was, and main main soup course was OK but not spicy at all (contrary to what was indicated on the menu). It could be I was just unlucky that day and would consider trying it again but I definitely did not have best experience.

Cosy little place in a great location. Great selection of ales and lagers, both traditional and craft. Staff are friendly. I've not tried the food there but it always smells amazing.

Favourite place to go for dinner in Balham - it has a nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, great for a date night or a catch up with a friend. The king prawn pad Thai is so good and such a good portion size!

This is one of my favourite restaurant. The food here is incredible! No 42 is my favourite seafood noodle dish. The red thai curries are a great choice as well. The service sometimes isn’t good but the food makes up for it :) I recommend prawn dumplings and duck spring rolls for starter. I don’t drink beer, but they have a big selection of craft beer as well

Fabulous service, wonderful drinks and such a good vibe to be able to watch the football and start our friends birthday evening off! The place had a nice buzz, and the food was moreish and rather clean! The prices are so brilliant especially if you're all looking to have a load of starters to share and mains.

A great little bar and restaurant, minutes away from the tube/ train station, in Balham. There is an affordable and delicious Thai menu with a good selection of beers on tap. They have a few small TVs and often show sport but not in a sports bar type of way. The vibe is very relaxed. It can get quite busy, especially at weekends, but you can make a reservation by phone or email. They staff are really friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend!

Best Thai in Balham! This is always the place I take friends to when they’re visiting me and it always impresses. It can get noisy as they play sports and it’s always busy but the food is amazing and great cocktails too. I do wish they had a better system for seating though - I’ve grabbed a seat a couple of times only to get a dirty look from staff as apparently someone else was waiting (but it’s so crowded and there’s no specific place to wait so it isn’t clear at all!). Of course happy to move and wait my turn but I wish they could have a clearer system to avoid the awkwardness!

I live nearby and always thought a place next to a station is a no no. I was wrong! They have Thai food that tastes genuine enough. Coctails good. The best is that they are among the very few in London that serve Bavarian beer properly.

Firefly is a fantastic place for a bite to eat/drink. The service is great and the food is excellent. When i went they managed to get us a table in no time despite it being very busy. Great location, 1 minute walk from Balham station. Every dish I have tried from there has been a dream. Only down side is that it is frequently very busy but that just goes to show how great it is. Definitely a must try restaurant/bar in London

This place is a hidden gem. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Their Thai cuisine is as authentic as it can get. To have this within a pub setting is golden. A visit is a must! I've grown very fond of this place over time. It has an excellent selection of beers and its one of the most reliable places to show sports events in Balham. The Thai food is also excellent and I've ordered takeaway from here quite a few times.

A regular over (at least) the last seven years. All sorts of experience from awesome to horrible for so many reasons. Awkward outside seating during this COVID era. Hooked to their Paulaner ! Thank you for the Munich nostalgia. Part of my Balham life. It took me a while to order the Thai food. It's ok and fairly priced for London. And the kitchen staff is very hard-working so special thanks to her. No price hikes on the beers in the near future hopefully.

This is one of my favourite bars in Balham. Relaxed. Good beers and when you’ve had a few jars, or glasses of wine, and your a little peckish... well they do pretty decent Thai food. It can get very noisy in the back if it’s busy. I like the fact that it has a wide age range of clientele and I always have a good evening in here.

I went to Firefly for drinks with friends and think it is a nice place. There were a wide variety of cocktails on the menu, averaging about £7.50 a cocktail. Some of them I had not heard of before. Of the ones we sampled all were okay, though we didn't find new favourites. The service was also nice with plenty of staff behind the bar. We visited on a Saturday night and there was a mix of people eating, people drinking and the place was not crowded.

Nice bar, reasonably priced and convenient location. However... We’ve waited around 45 minutes for our food to arrive!! I do understand it was a busy time but we weren’t warned of this when ordering. Food was delicious and a good portion but no doubt we would have been offered at least a free drink elsewhere with that waiting time...

Really yummy food and great atmosphere, however , the staff (particularly the young blonde girl ) were slow, rude, unapologetic, and didn’t listen when we asked for all the food together and then forgot to bring us our bill. I've eaten here twice. The first time I was very impressed but the second not so much. I'd stick with the green/red curries they're mint! I had seafood noodles last time and it was not the best. Friendly staff and overall good vibes. A nice place to chill.

They didn't add the Thai seasoning to my Thai salad but you can to make it yourself from the condiments (fish sauce, chili sauce soy sauce & possibly tamarind sauce? No labels) on the table. My friends didn't like their food. The salad tasted fresh but I might have liked more Thai basil and coriander. My friends said one of their beers was flat but my diet coke was OK.

Well-above average beer selection, friendly service, food is better than it looks (looks mediocre, tastes better). Spicy vinegar and other condements very tasty too - marginally small portions and drinks a bit pricey. Shouldn't let smokers sit right outside the open front.

It's high time I reviewed this gaff. It's not perfect, but I have to give it a 5 as a 4 just doesn't cut it. Not sure I've ever given something a 5/5 before, so that's the biggest testament I can give to this gem of a place. Genuine Thai family in the kitchen rustling up grub that is fairly priced, especially compared to the average fare served up at most of the nearby pubs. There's a semi-rotating set of 15 beers, all neatly listed on the blackboard with prices and abv. That's not something you see often these days & it actually encourages you to stay longer & spend more. Try not to do all 15 in the same afternoon though, as you'll end up no good to anyone. Aside from this you've got plenty of can & bottle options and a couple of decent gins and whiskys etc. They seem to look after their taps and you'll always get the correct glass for whatever you order. It's a little touch that goes a long way. They show the football and will put the sound on for the bigger games. The sound system does need work though, as you can only hear the commentary clearly on a couple of tables. But in all fairness there's probably no compelling reason for them to alter this as they've got a good thing going on there right now in terms of clientele. Towards the back is the sit-down dine-area where you won't be bothered by people watching sport and can have a quieter meal. Good for a date, good for groups of friends. Toilets are always clean and there's never a Q. The bar staff are very good. There's a very agreeable 2-4-1 happy hour on selected cocktails once or twice a night. Probably been in 100 times in my career and never seen an ounce of trouble. There's some eclectic locals mixed with the younger generation of Balhamites & I wish the owners & staff every continued success.

Great service and an amazing bar tender. Laura is perhaps the greatest single bar lady that I've known. If Laura's boss is reading this, ten out of ten you should give her a raise and also probably saleswoman / bar keep of the year. Definitively the greatest espresso Martini Ive ever had. I hope to come back and enjoy the good times, great drinks and amazing company (not my friends who are mediocre at best but the bar staff). Lots of love j

Great selection of beer and the food is very good, it’s just a slightly odd vibe/decor. When we were there the football was on all of the TVs, there’s a busy bar, and yet it’s still a functioning restaurant at the same time...it’s like it can’t decide if it wants to be a cool bar with craft beers or a restaurant. Still, the food, drink and service is all great!!
