Reviews of Flying Horse
S. W.
Great spot. Staff were so friendly. Busy upstairs but quiet in the basement with large tv and second bar.
J. D.
Always visit here when shopping in Oxford Street especially when at Primark. Nicholsons old school style pub. Nice stained glass and roof lantern. Toilets are a bit snug and basic but a welcome refuge from the busy street.
G. P.
Good ales. Friendly welcoming staff. Didn't do food but were happy for us to take food in. My only criticism is the cubicle in the gents. You have to be an acrobat to use it.
A.
Service could be be faster, but the bar itself and location make up for it. Other than that the staff are decent and so are those imbibing.
R. J.
Just a quick review for this place.. Was going to see a show across the street and wanted a quick bite and pint. I believe this place is part of a group, which showed a menu online. Went in, grabbed a beer, and found out there was no food. Ah well! For what my meager review is worth, the pint was reasonable for central London, the staff were friendly, and the place was cute. Just don't come here for a meal. :)
L. F.
This is a great little pub, a real hidden gem of the west end. It feels like you're stepping back in time when you walk in. Give them a visit you wont be disappointed. Incredibly friendly staff and great atmosphere. DONT MISS OUT
A. M.
Watched Scotland beat England here in the 6 nations it'll always have a place in my heart haha. Busy little pub with a great atmosphere.
T. V.
Lovely happy hour pub, visited with friends on Sunday, friendly polite efficient staff, great to watch a football match, as two large tellies, or simply enjoy drinks with friends! x
K. B.
We popped in for a quick drink. Friendly, helpful staff, nice atmosphere. We would have had a few more but we were off to the theatre and the friendly staff pointed us in the right direction.
M. D.
Good range of beers and nice surroundings. Good location. Couldn't get cask beers downstairs when I was thete but pumps were there so that may be unusual.
J. D.
Popped in here for a swift glass of wine before heading to Picadilly Theatre! Lovely traditional pub. Perfectly located in Theatreland for the Dominion Theatre and The bottom of Oxford Street.
T. C.
A nice old fashioned London pub .right next to the big shops .ideal for Husbands who don't like shopping when the wife does
D. A.
Popped in here on a trip down to London, didn't really know what to expect from the pub or area. The drinks selection was good and there was a decent selection of ales and beers.
Didn't eat so can comment, but the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. They don't do table service so bare that in mind. We had to stand for a while as it was busy too.
Would go back, as with all pubs in London from a northern perspective... It's a bit pricey.
J. T.
Nice at 14.30 today. Good polite service and fine pint of Corona.
Not so good early evening last night tho. Music far too loud and toilets filthy.
N. S.
Very friendly, good atmosphere, well stocked selection of beers. Got served quickly each time I went to the bar.
D. B.
Good pub on Oxford Street at the Centre Point Tower end plenty of beers to choose from
D. R.
Nice pub in central London. But lots of tourists so don't expect an intimate atmosphere.
A. H.
No service in the basement bar despite the pub being busy as football was on. Drinks were good and a reasonable price for the location.
C. C.
Beers were watered down. Too crowded. Looked nice from the outside but it's nothing special.
R. J.
Had two pints for 8 quid and for the location it's a good price. There isn't much seating and kids aren't allowed after seven which is nice. Lots of cask options and a lot of gin and tonics.
I. P.
Tiny Rebel Cali Pale good pint 5%
D. N.
Busy pub just near Tottenham Court Rd tube station, great decor good beer and reasonable prices considering its location , recommended
A. G.
Great pub. Friendly staff. Went in pre and post gig. Busy but still enough space to drink.
E.
Amazing vibe, really good music and convenient for big groups. I would recommend staying in the downstairs bit which is much more vibesy.
T. M.
The Flying Horse is a traditional pub on Oxford Street, opposite of Tottenham Court Road underground station. The decor is fairly stylish, and there's a large range of hand-pumped ales and lagers on offer, along with all other kinds of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. They also serve solid pub food. This is one of the busiest pubs in central London even during the day, finding a table won't be easy. In addition to the main pub area on the ground floor, there's also a dining area in the basement. It's all fairly glitzy, and the prices for drinks are elevated. The ideal pub to hang out before or after a performance at the Dominion Theatre next door.
N. R.
Quality pub, they've always looked after the beer. We had the whole downstairs to ourselves. Staff are friendly and quick, thanks
S. T.
Said on website they did meals so booked table but no meals. Disappointed
PlAce looked very nice though, upstairs and downstairs 👌
S.
Only had time for one drink, nice pub showing live sport.
J. I.
Nice access from tube station. Clean, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Price is okay too. Would like to visit again for waiting friends or something.
T. S.
was really lovely atmosphere, great variety of drinks, decently priced drinks and located in the perfect place in london
w. p.
Great welcoming atmosphere.. brilliant staff 👏 a good old London pub..
H. C.
Great drink and cosy atmosphere, old style Public House
M. A.
Nice space if you can get a seat. Drinks are reasonably priced. Great to place to water the world walking by on the corner of Tottenham Court road and Oxford Street.
C. C.
I love this pub, been coming for years. Unfortunately they don't do food anymore, hoping this is temporary. Friendly service, good range of lagers and ales.
S. R.
Didn't try anything as off now but the ambience was really amazing and it's great ! I'll say must visit place ..! :)
D. D.
Bar staff were friendly and atmosphere good but ladies toilets were below par, one was blocked with loo paper and and was unclean
E. D.
Was great lovely staff nice wine.
first time there will not be my last
S. K.
Nice place, staff friendly, prices good 👍
J. V.
Just stopped for a quick pint but it was excellent and the girl serving was so nice.
A. S.
This is where I always met friends in Central London before the theater of cinema. Traditional pub with a good range of beers.
C. D.
Fantastic interior and vibe! Really blows you away when you arrive as the face of the building is a bit underwhelming but upon entering the atmosphere is so enlightening! A vast array of beers and sprits to enjoy and more than enough space to bring your friends and sink a few brewski's away from the ever so busy streets of Central London, would love to try the food upon reopening!
D. T.
The only pub on Oxford St decent enough but overpriced as expected
D. E.
Pet friendly pub with lots of seating and quick service. Downstairs seating also available.
H. D.
Nice small pub with nice staff
S. H.
This is local to where we stay when in Lindin Town. Always busy but we love it
M. W. u.
Great find . Cosy pub with normal prices . Great selection of beers to . Including Corona beers on tap !!!
N. B.
Perfec place for rest in shopping and to put husbonds while shopping. Nice and cosy place. Great service
A. A.
Never written a review for a pub before, but the service was great the other day. Was having a few drinks with a friend and another customer came in and started over enthusiastically chatting to me. Which I did engage with out of politeness (normally I'd be fine continuing, however he had been unnecessarily rude to the staff). One of the girls behind the bar then came over and ushered us away from him to a nicer table downstairs. And another came and apologised later on (which was really not needed, it wasn't the staffs fault at all). All in all really lovely service and good quality pints. Will definitely pop in again.
D. F.
Average pub with mega prices. Staff had a couldn't care less attitude
S. R.
Lovely staff and good food excellent 👌
B. T. T.
Nice pub. Real old classic pub feel.
S. G.
Great place to meet up for a drink before football
A. M.
Always a must for a few "refreshments" on our London visits, it's the one place we visit every time, Love sitting near the window watching the world go by, always friendly staff, great friendly atmosphere and great beers n ciders, can't wait till September (2021) to get back in here, Cheers
P. N.
This is a landmark. Been coming here for over 20 years. Nice meeting place and real ales on tap.
A. F.
Great atmosphere. A gem of a place
M. R.
Fabulous pub, still standing in a sea of consumerism and waste. Really friendly staff.
j. m.
Was a bit busy, for the time of day we were in, so it's probably a popular pub
S. K.
Lovely wee pub for stop off drink from shopping
A. J.
I was so impressed by one of Nicholsons other pubs (the swan in hammersmith) that I decided to Pop into the flying horse when I saw it. We were greeted at the door by the manager, a happy smiley Italian lady called Lorena who took our details and seated us. Tom the barman was very knowledgeable about the beers and let us try a couple before buying, its a lovely little pub with great beers and friendly staff, definitely recommend it.
S. k.
Good place to grab a few drinks but there is no food
J. M.
Friendly staff and a good selection of ales.
P. J. N.
Extremely decorative pub...be sure to go down to the rear and look up at the wonderful little coloured glass dome...nice friendly staff...
Can get very busy though, being the only pub on Oxford Street...highly recommended!
E.
Great place to come sit down and have a couple of beers after going to the theatre across the road. Great interior and noise not overwhelming so you can have a chat without raising your voice.
Excellent selection of beers too
T. H.
It's a great little pub
b. g.
Not a bad pub unfortunately its not a weatherspoons as first thought
P. T.
Really interesting antique decor with an extensive range of beers and spirits. Always busy early to mid evening and therefore it can be difficult to find somewhere to sit. There is also a cellar bar which I think can be hired out for a private event.
A. H.
Amazing atmosphere. Variety of beers and whiskeys and outstanding service!!!
R. B.
Cool Victorian era pub - both old and new in the right places. Popped in on the weekend with a mate as we were passing. Great atmosphere, and although it was difficult to get seated we weren't bothered propping up the bar. Good selection of beers and real ales, although we were just glad for a Guinness or two. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Fair prices for a central London pub. Worth dropping in if you're nearby.
L. S.
Top range of beers and friendly knowledgeable staff, having a decent range is one thing but actually knowing the beer, being able to suggest similar options when one is out, recommending a decent beer that maybe I hadn't tried before and might like really sets this place a part from other pubs I visited in the area. It was small without much seating but not really an issue as seemed fairly quiet given it was a Friday lunchtime....
R. B.
Beautiful interior, ceiling and window add to the relaxing old school vibe. Busy street outside, this is a quiet relaxing spot to enjoy one of the many drink selections on tap. Came in for a refreshment break after visiting the British museum around the way.
M. D.
Only had a drink here. Nice pub with a reasonable range of draft beers. Leather chairs need reupholstering, unless that is supposed to be part of the pub's charm. Will visit again if in the area.
J. H.
Great atmosphere and lovely food
M. O.
Awesome. Could genuinely spent the entire day here.
H. L.
As a northerner, I'm naturally suspicious of all things southern, especially their beer. However, on this occasion, I could not have been happier to call into this pub. Great selection of ales, served well, in a friendly warm environment. A home away from home.
K. H. S.
Probably one of the best pubs in London. Great atmosphere and always smiling staff.
E. R.
Good location but can get crowded
T. S.
Great beer selection in addition up many ciders. Friendly staff.
L. O.
A fairly nice London pub situated on the busy Oxford Street/Tittenham Court Road junction. Caters for the casual passers by and those wanting a temporary escape from the hustle and bustle of the shopping. A big choice of gin based drinks and a reasonable choice of beer. Staff attentive and polite.
S. B.
Traditional style pub opposite Tottenham Court Road Station. It would be easy to walk past to Soho or the rest of the West End but it's worth a visit. Gin Palace with a great selection and plenty of other booze on offer.
T. D.
A nice pub to have a Quick Beer or two. We found this pub while walking along Oxford street. We waited here for a friend and we had some tried differend beers while we waited. I liked the style of this pub. Will come back the next time i stay in London
M. S.
Right across Tottenham Court Road station.
Wifi Available.
Selective choices of drinks; for food only sandwiches are available.
B. B.
Way to busy that is nice but. It is kind expensive.
D. K.
fantastic london pub
S. C.
Typical London pub ,good atmosphere.
M. S.
Nice little.pub conveniently situated near to the entrance to Tottenham Court Road Underground Station and a short walk from the Dominion Theatre. A good selection of both draught and bottled beers from all around the world, as well as an extensive wine list and the usual array of spirits and liquor. London prices.
B. J. P.
I really like this pub, it is very cozy, the staff is very friendly especially Lorena and Tom with whom I can talk about football while having a beer 😊
M. H.
Bit of a tourist boozer and a Friday after work place for workers.
They have music in the front by the window sometimes.
Beer is standard fare and expect London/West End prices.
If you're claustrophobic and/or don't like small spaces full of loud busy people, avoid at busy times
S. s.
Nice and clean place to drink...the only down side my friend ask for a glass of rose wine and the guy give one and we realise that was the expensive one! He didn't ask any questions of which kind of flavour she want so she could choose! Cosy place and good music!
B. B.
Place is busy as you would expect. one of the three staff came across as helpful and friendly. The red headed female was.grumpy about something which.in turn upset another of the staff. He too armed grumpy. Drinks are ok with nice company.
D. S.
I really liked this venue good choice of drinks
D. N.
Nicholson pub. Good choice of beers and the Tribute own-branded. Actually a fairly decent experience and somewhat unexpected at this busy end of Oxford Street and opposite Tottenham Court tube. Standard central London prices. Just fine for one or two.
R. S.
It was aiit I guess - nothing special. Toilets probably need to be redone to accommodate the amount of people they cater too. Was at a thing downstairs so not squashed up like upstairs. Good for a quick one before heading off to enjoy the night
E. H.
Great place for a quick stop, good atmosphere &.food is available.
D. B.
Quaint but very busy pub opposite Tottenham court road tube station. Drink prices are reasonable, it has a proper old style boozer feel to it. Drink choices could do with some more ciders.
M. B.
I had a really amazing time. Cocktails and halloumi fries are the best!!! I ordered to the table using the whetherspoon app because it saves having to queue.
J. G.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere
G. W.
I like it it's located at the top of Oxford St opposite Tottenham Court Rd tube station and right next to Mcds & Primark ;) The bouncer & bar staff are friendly and if it gets a bit crowded upstairs there is a downstairs seating area.
S. M.
A pleasant and charming pub with period features and a nice atmosphere.
j. w.
Great pub with quite alot of space. Drinks are a bit expensive but very easy to order and have a conversation. Would recommend for a quick drink
S. L.
This is the first time we have been here, the staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely come back
S. B.
Surprisingly light and spacious at the back. well-kept beer but the range suffers from the generic NIcholson's issue of offering nothing darker than Doom Bar.
V. C.
FLYING HORSE.
FAMOUS FOR BEING THE LAST REMAINING ALEHOUSE ON OXFORD STREET! 🍻🍺🍻
G. T.
lovely old pub very well maintained. vVery friendly staff Very good looking. The most important part is you can tell the lines very very clearly well looked after. best pint today by far
A. D.
Top service, top beer and cider, number 1 place to visit when in the area
P. S.
Cosy clean and fresh smelling ( unlike most pubs in London sadly) with jovial host. Good range of local beers.
r. m.
Nice pub with amazing decor. Good customer experience inspired by professional staff that attend to customers courteously. Like it!
M. M.
Great location, friendly staff, a couple of TV screens and a decent selection of beer set in a traditional London pub.
J. C.
This traditional pub is the only one on Oxford Street and is directly opposite Tottenham Court Road station. It is small and the ground floor is always packed, but everytime I go the basement bar always has space. Good starting place to have your first drink before moving on if you are on a night out in Soho/west end.
C. L.
A very cozzy place to have a drink. You can see its an old pub but its clean. Moreover I was very happy with the price and the friendly staff.
V. W.
Last pub on Oxford Street. Grade II listed. Fascinating place with ornately painted mirrors and panels on the walls and ceiling. The chandeliers are a stark contrast to the plain, wooden floor. Full of character and reasonable prices.
D. W.
We popped in for a post-London Palladium drink.
Friendly staff, a large choice of beers and ales on tap.
At 23:00, they rang the bell for last orders and everyone had to leave by 23:20 (Wednesday night).
J. o.
Nice old pub, decor is beautiful, the only annoyance was the football on the two big tv's and the rowdy men, take the tv's away keep the music and i would have a drink there again, otherwise its a no from me.
W. Y. C.
Pub on Oxford Street. Wood panelled interiors, efficient staff, serves a selection of beers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. More seating downstairs (half a floor underground) for larger groups though the atmosphere is arguably livelier on the ground floor.
M. S.
Nice pub with good central location with extra seats downstairs and board games for those looking to linger! Team were friendly and service was quick - nice for an escape for busy shoppers on Oxford Street!
O. W.
I was pleasantly surprised by this pub. Excellent selection of ales, useful staff, not massively expensive for the area. I shall be back! Name changed fairly recently.
R. P.
A great old fashioned pub good selection of real ale and other beers food is also available at a reasonable price very close to theatre and TCR underground and on bus route from Victoria station along Oxford street well worth a visit
N. D.
Nice traditional pub in yhe centre of London
L.
Great traditional London bar. Retaining many of the Art Deco features. Very high prices, but probably to be expected on Oxford Street!
J. F.
Really nice pub. Nice staff, good atmosphere, really convenient. Oh also lots of good beer and cider. Will return.
T. M.
Ok pub. Can be busy on occasions. £23+ for 4x Peroni's so quite expensive if you wish to drink there
M. P.
Good selection of draft beer and a friendly staff. Prices were fair! Nice place to pop in for a pint of beer.
A. V.
Not a bad place to get a quick drink in central London. Not the most experienced staff but considering the fairly low prices for a central pub, you probably get what you pay for.
a. w.
Lovely traditional London pub with lots of original features. Can get really busy. Good selection of beers.
j. k.
Great place. One minus. No Napue gin from Finland. The best gt gin in the world 😊. Visited Nov. 2018
J. D.
A good traditional pub, a reasonable selection of beers and spirits. Quite busy but with a reasonable level of seating.
H. V.
Nice Pub with great history. The men's room could be nicer and why not get rid of the flags and concentrate on the genuine feeling.
D. G.
There' was a war of words between an evertonian and a manc.. the evertonian won because he'd actually been to liverpool... 🎣
But the beers good and there's sport on TV. Delicious
B. M.
Your average pub so don't expect too much in any way, however the tap selection was pretty insane, which alone deserves the 5 stars!
S. P.
Decent pub with good selection of beers. Friendly staff and the decore was cool. Gents bathroom was fairly clean too.
N. M.
Popped in for a swift very nice old boozer
h.
Very little place ti actualy sit down and rest but thats ok the staff are freindly and the beer options there are so much to choose from its hard to knwo what you want amd all for a decent price its a great atmoshphere must come and come fir the experience
C.
Had an amazing fish finger sandwich and fries with a non-alco drink. Very reasonably priced and amazing views both inside and outside.
S. T.
Great atmosphere, drinks choice and just the location itself very central.
M. R.
Very cool old style pub with a good drink selection at good prices. The chandeliers and high ceilings also add to it's charm.
P. B.
Very nice pub. Bar man was very friendly. Looked like a decent crowd
G.
Nice busy pub in the heart of London. Polite efficient staff and a real feel good vibe considering how busy it was
m. h.
Proper small boozer opposite tube station, great place to break up the horror of shopping
K. G.
Great place for food and drink
T. M.
Great pub. Amazing Irish bartender. Good selection of beers and ales. Cheap in relation to where it is and it’s history.
I. E.
The Tottenham Pub, FAMOUS feature of the favourite pub that Cormaron Strike the detective drinks at, Fav drink in the books is Doombar - Novels written beautifully by J.K. Rowling as a pseudonym Robert Galbraith
M. H.
Really nice looking pub!
I really enjoyed having a few pints of cider in here... I'd recommend it for a little shopping break
N. M.
Nice and friendly pub. Staff are great and helpful. Lovely atsmpohere. Good vibe
A. A.
Super cosy, good drinks selection. Not too pricey 👍😍
J. B.
Nice pub right opposite Tottenham Court Road station, nice friendly staff decent drinks prices (considering where it's located)
k. j.
Nice bar, well located and I think it's slightly cheaper than the others
a. f.
Decent pub, nicer inside than it looked from the outside, standard London selection of beers and priced for the area
P. M.
Nice place and great 🍺
T. R.
A decent pub but they don't make Irish coffee. Lots of people and hustle there.
m. h.
Quaint traditional pub opposite Tottenham Court Road Tube station, not much seating so expect to stand in the evenings. Good choice of beers and whiskey
R. H.
Legends, a whiskey and ginger ale for a pound! Sneaky one, while the wife went in Primark.
Great pub!
j. m.
Traditional victorian London bar
K. R.
Great pub.... busy.... good atmosphere and serves a good pint. Plenty of staff. Great place
J. F. F.
Beautiful place with an authentic feel, fair prices and vibrant atmosphere. Minor downside, the menu wasn't up to date.
R. L.
Good location. Bit small and cramped but decent beer and it's possible to watch the football when in town.
J. B.
Busy city centre pub. Good beer. Good service.
F. G.
Cosy place - not too busy when I went (Wednesday). Reasonably priced. No food. Good music.
C.
Cozy, it wasn't full of people in a sarurday night. Great service, although they don't ley you pay with card for less than 5 pounds. I actually liked this place
J. C.
Great choice of beers at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff too.
D. B.
Nice local pub
J. K.
Surprised at how local feel this place is. Guest ales and friendly staff. Not what you'd expect for commercial districtly pub.
d. w.
Friendly place with good staff. Not cheap but where is in Central London
J. J.
Nice cosy cellar bar. Very quick and pleasant service from bar staff. Excellent pub.
G. G.
Amazing surprise. Place full of life, great beer, good music, so busy, yet there is not too busy.
S. C.
Nice atmosphere and a decent lager
D. D.
Great selection of beers on tap. Good choice of ciders. Friendly helpful staff.
M. F.
Was once called Tottenham. Probably lost some of it's heritage charm. But still a handy pub if the family are shopping on Oxford Street.
L. M.
Average London pub, has a downstairs section which was surprisingly spotlessly clean, although the loos left a lot to be desired.
D. K.
Went to lunch here and had a great time, the hamburger was great and the cottage pie quite good but was served very hot.
If your hangry this is a solid choise
J. M.
Nice old pub , a bit on the expensive side . Good selection of beers
J. U.
Easy access from major roads (close to underground station and bus stops) , friendly staff, and variety of drinks to choose from.
F. M.
Very nice place to spend quality time with your friends ! Nice staff, good beer !
s. c.
Surprisingly nice pub, given its location on a very busy crossroads with a massive building site. It doesn't feel "fiddled with" and hasn't been filled with taxidermy
D. G.
Quit nice friendly warm pub Have nice list of alcohol.
J. D.
Good service and nice beer.
S. E.
Very nice staff and a fantastic place for birdspotting, through the window:) Also, a big THANK YOU for taking care of my forgotten OMD-record! See you soon...
J. E.
We love this pub and always visit on every trip to London. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Y. Z.
A nice quiet British pub in Central London, it has a decent selection of drinks, food wise, I would like to see some more options.
A. A.

Very nice and cosy place with beautiful features and architecture. Good beer and options
M. T.
Small friendly pub with a fair selection of good beers - just opposite the Dominion Theatre

V. A.

a. n.
A nice Nicholson's pub next to Tottenham court rd station. nice decor and good selection fo drinks
A. S.
Nice atmosphere and good old style decor. Liked the cellar bar too.
t.
OK pub. Conveniently near to the tube station so it's good for meeting up with people.
