One of my favourite bars in town, if I lived closer by, I'd be in here at least once a week, this way, it's around once a month. A classy and elegant vintage styled venue with an extensive cocktail menu, featuring both modern cocktails and classics, such as the White Russian on the photo, which would find favour with The Dude himself. There are weekly changing £5 per cocktail offers, live music upstairs, and regular film screenings of the weird and wonderful kind in the Tiki Bar styled basement. Fabulous place, a home from home. Fully recommended.

What a gorgeous venue! This was my first time in Fontaine's Bar on Saturday in the main bar with a group of my friends. A friend of mine had recommended this venue to us and we were not disappointed! The staff were hugely attentive to us, especially Ruby - the owner and Bar Manager Ben. We were given so many recommendations adhering to our needs and all the cocktails were fantastic! Staff know what they are doing and have a wide knowledge of drinks. We will be back soon for £5 cocktails and live music on Thursday! Thank you for such an amazing experience team!

What an amazing experience on Saturday myself and my friends had! We were in the main bar having cocktails, first experience and definitely not our last! Another fabulous night at Fontaine's! A huge thank you to Ruby and her team for letting us bring our little Chihuahua, Ella to Fontaine's. the service here is always outstanding, the staff are always super friendly and chatty and feels like catching up with old friends. I've yet to find another bar that serves a better Martini! It's all in the details at Fontaine's, right down to the carpet! Always a fabulous night out!

I had a private event in the downstairs tiki themed bar which was a joint birthday party. From my first email the planning was smooth with Ruby clearly going over all the details, understanding my requirements and being so accommodating. She was on hand every step of the way to answer all my questions. All the guests had a fantastic time, the service was incredible on the night and special shout out to the two lovely ladies who were with us on the night making amazing drinks and helping with whatever we needed. Will definitely be having another event there in the future!

Live music and wonderful cocktails on a Thursday evening. We have been regulars at Fontaines since it opened and were delighted to return after lock down. The venue is charming, mysterious and intimate. I highly recommend the Clover Club cocktails, by far my favourite! It’s wonderful to experience very talented people singing on a Thursday night, create IG a world to get lost in. The staff are warm, welcoming and kind. We’re always greeted with the best smiles and warmest welcomes. Can’t wait to go back!

Vintage decadence at affordable prices. I’ve brought friends, family, and colleagues here since it’s opened and we’ve all loved it. It’s a home away from home and one of my favourite places in London. They know how to make drinks, understand alternative communities, have no pretention (you don’t have to look like Dita to visit), and have lots of plant based options.

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW Unfortunately this is the only way I’m able voice the negativity and harassment which is occurring on our Google reviews. To whom maybe reading the thread of reviews I would like to express what has happened. As the owner of Fontaine’s Bar I understand I cannot please everyone, my team and myself try to give the best service and experience we can to every guest who walks through our doors. There are, I’m sad to say, times when we are taken aback by unnecessary rudeness. We are a family business, with no investors. We invest all our money back into the business to create and maintain a beautiful bar and experience. We have been here for almost 8 years and having survived a pandemic I would not do this if I didn’t love it! It does not in anyway benefit my bar or myself if I was rude to everyone who walked in. With that being said, I have never let anyone who is rude or disrespectful to my staff or bar think it’s ok to behave in that way. I guess it’s to my own detriment I am vocal, I should realise that anyone who is rude to staff is beyond my control in changing they attitude. We in the service industry do unfortunately have to endure this and at times except it, I believe there are some moments where we shouldn’t. We sadly over the years have had to deal with racism, homophobia and being treated like we are not worthy of respect because we are in service. I hope attitudes change, but I guess we are not there yet. As a final note I would like to say I have not paid anyone to write reviews… Didn’t even know you could. I have asked our wonderful regular guests and recent guests who have had an event or party with us to write a review. Many thanks for your time, Ruby Fontaine

Fontaine’s is my second home! Owner Ruby and her team always look after us so well. I’ve been a regular ever since the bar opened - and from photoshoots and workshops to client drinks and date nights with the husband, the service received is always second to none. My husband and I actually even had our wedding party at Fontaine’s. If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful to spend an evening sipping fabulous cocktails in an intimate, immaculate venue, then Fontaine’s is the place to go.

Always wanted to try it since we have lived just around the corner for many years. Gave it 5 stars even though I’m slightly in two minds about the place. The decor is stunning if you’re into Art Deco. The drinks were also top even though I always find them too small these days. And the service was very good too. What put us off a little and makes us hesitant to return is just the choice of music. Last night they played some kind of pop rock from the 60s and 70s which to my taste was ghastly and was in stark contrast to the ambience the decor created. I would be concerned to have to listen to that again the next time I come. I understand that music tastes are very different but something but I would have expected something that links to the atmosphere of the decor.

What a bar! Hidden gem from the outside word as all the magic happens once you step foot inside. The decor is reflective of its class. This is a beautiful cocktail bar with a lovely atmosphere. The decor is dark and intimate with the attractive addition of some Art Deco furniture and sumptuous furnishings. The only area for slight improvement is that service is a little rigid and staff maybe need to relax a little - that said it was very attentive and efficient and adds to the atmosphere.

Absolutely love it here! I wanted to have a classy cocktail before my wedding with my friends so came here. Ruby the owner was amazing, and her staff treated us all like queens! The decor is the most beautiful I have ever seen in a bar, and they also have loads of great nights such as the free film club and Bamboo club night downstairs. Amazing - would recommend

An underrated gem of London's cocktail bar scene! It's decadent, 1930s/40s-inspired decor is luxurious without ever feeling snobby or unwelcoming. The drinks are tasty and very reasonably priced by London standards (especially given the £5 menu on Thursdays). The owner, Ruby, has worked hard on creating the perfect drinking spot and her love and attention to detail is evident. Quite possibly my favourite bar in London (and that's saying something!)

I often go to the Turkish next door and wanted to try Fontaine's so thought I would try it for a drink on my 50th. I read the reviews first but thought i would find out for myself. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is OK but I have to agree with the comments of others around the service. 1 person making drinks and 1 serving and the attitude of both was poor and i don't think they even know it. When we walked in the waitress was serving some people and kept looking at us with a rude look on her face like we were an inconvenience and the woman behind the bar wasn't much friendlier. Took over 30 minutes to get a drink and we just wanted to leave but stayed for that 1 drink and left. If a business gets consistent poor reviews about the same issues then you would think they would look at how they are running said business but for some reason some business owners and employees just think customers are a hassle and that we need them! Shame as it could be a good place to visit if the service and attitudes were better. I refuse to help keep people in business who cant treat customers right!

Having been using this bar for the best part of 18 months now after I discovered it. All I can say is that it is near as perfect as a bar can be; the decor is superb, the drinks top notch, and the service is always exceptional. Always worth my trip from south London to go there!

This place harks back to a time of glamour, but in Stoke Newington. Not a chain, proper cocktails properly garnished and presented. If you want to guzzle cheap cocktails and get trashed, it's not the place which is why I recommend it - the owner is charming, the place is stylish and you get to sit back and have the drinks brought over to you like a real cocktail bar.

Fabulous place. At first glance the drinks aren't cheap but the amounts of alcohol are very generous so you end up buying less anyway. Staff are all exceptionally friendly and literally wait on you hand and foot. Much better than many so-called cocktail bars that are just a gimmick to get you to buy badly-mixed drinks at higher prices. I only wish I had a hardier liver.

I LOVE Fontaine's. It's a stunning art deco cocktail bar, with impeccable design, delicious cocktails, and a fantastic programme of events. For design lovers everywhere! The downstairs Bamboo Lounge is also amazing for dance parties. I highly recommend for a romantic night out, a catch up with old friends, or just pop by on your way home from work... any excuse to get yourself down there! Run by fabulous Emerald Fontaine, former Burlesque starlet.

I have been coming to fountains for over three years and ruby and her team are AMAZING!!! They can. Fontaine's is a super-lush hidden dream where you can grab a drink, have a catch up with friends or check out a unique and high-quality cabaret night downstairs. Fontaine's do the best gin martinis in town and always play excellent music. The bar staff are attentive and friendly and Ms Fontaine herself has paid exquisite attention to detail on everything in this dream of a cocktail bar. They also cater for private events in the Tiki bar downstairs as well as the regular club nights held there where you'll hear all sorts of excellent tunes to keep you on the dancefloor.

find it, get in and forget where you came from. immerse into art deco design and menu of classic cocktails and fontaine's unique concoctions. get (objectively) the best whiskey sour. try mouthwatering pisco sour, manhattan, southside royal, mexican mary ... all created and served by friendly and professional bartender - ask him anything about cocktails' magic. if you do not want to make friends here, fine, bring your own and show them the fontaine's gem. ahhh, prices vs. quality are pure steal. i'm coming back asap!
