Really lovely friendly chatty staff with good knowledge of the cocktails and drinks, I love a whisky sour but not many places do it properly, the best whiskey sour I've had in a long time! So beautiful looking over London, nice vibe, can't wait to come back. The espresso martini is great too! X

N. L.Had the most amazing night here with all my girls for a birthday. The service was excellent throughout the whole night, we were allowed to order pizza upstairs and the staff helped us with that. The music was spot on and the whole vibe was just perfect. Will definitely be going back again soon!
S. T.The place is nice at the rooftop. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. I would recommend to go with colleagues and dress up because the guard wouldn’t let you in if wearing track suit eventhough it looks fashionable. The place is well decorated too. Unfortunately, I went there on Thursday night so there was no DJ at that time. The cocktail recipes looked very creative. I had the pink color one called ‘ like a candy’ and it was very sweet.

N. S.We took a party of 30 and another small group of 5 on Thursday 1st July 2021 to the Golden Bee Rooftop terrace. Had an absolutely fantastic night, drinks flowed and the music was good. Unfortunately the volume couldn't be turned down when we needed to address our group and give out awards.
But Kristina was absolutely excellent. She welcomed us and kept our party going. Her service was impeccable. Not sure about the Toilet attendant - bit off putting with him being so close to the toilet whilst you're trying to have some privacy. Would be nice to have a lift, especially when we ordered pizzas from yardsalepizza as suggested and we had to go down to the ground floor and carry 7 large pizzas and 3 regular ones up to the rooftop with those metal stairs/steps. The barman was quite grumpy. There were no specific divisions on the bar and if happened to be in the wrong place at the bar, we were told very abruptly 'I can't serve you there' . Probably would have been better to put some signs up. Unfortunately we booked the space from 6pm to 1pm but the barman turned the lights on and closed the bar down shortly after midnight - bit disappointed with that. Other than that Kristina made us feel special and we enjoyed our visit to Golden Bee - thank you Kristina : ).
S. S.Brilliant service and very accommodating staff both front of house and behind the scenes. I paid a 'deposit' which is usually redeemed against the drinks but turned out this was an entry fee which wasn't made clear at the time of booking. The drinks ordering site kept crashing and took a while to load so an app might be better which they don't have. The staff were great however and a nice bar overall.

L. H.Fabulous place once inside but the door staff let this place down! Paid £60 upfront when booking the club, we aren’t from the area so we got taxis, one of the cars got lost, when my friends finally arrived, the door man wouldn’t let them in, mixed group too. Wouldn’t refund me, ended up splitting up for abit. It was a 30th birthday celebration too!

With the new rules, they made the decision to move VIP area more central and I must say this was great! We felt fully involved in the night and shout out to Paige for this.
Everyone was friendly and professional throughout the night, I'd read the odd review about tough bouncers but I will say if you just enjoy your night and don't do anything silly your have a great time here!

J. C.Pretentious rooftop bar in the heart of trendy Shoreditch. Prices are expensive! If you go on weekends, they charge you entry fee. The views are normal, since it’s just a 3rd floor. Overall is nice but there are better places just around the corner.
L. N.I hosted a surprise birthday party for my partner at the golden bee. They were fantastic from start to finish and did everything they could to make sure the night went as smoothly as possible. Paige in particular was amazing, she made sure that someone contacted me before the night to go through any final details and on the night, nothing was too much to ask and she is always happy to help.
We had a VIP area on the rooftop and even with current covid restrictions, we all had an amazing time. The music was brilliant, there was not one song that the whole group didn’t want to dance to! The bartender serving our part of the rooftop was amazing also, making cocktails to suit how we like them and again, nothing was too much to ask.

B. S.Okay so location is great, Shoreditch, nice roof top, great staff, good sound system and seating - top notch for mid priced Shoreditch vibes. But the crowd and atmosphere wasn’t the one, I was expecting a little bit of a cool east london crowd and maybe some startup workers etc, but it was super tacky, with everything that comes with that, people wanting to seem and act like they are going to a high-end venue when it really didn’t have that vibe. Nothing wrong but if you know then you know and should probably head somewhere else.

Like walking into an episode of love island, the clientel are young, good looking and trendy, the staff are everywhere and security tight but friendly. 20 years ago I'd have tried to get in here every weekend!!!

We booked a large seating area and the staff were very accommodating and brought us blankets. They allowed me to have a slightly bespoke booking due to it being a birthday celebration and the booking not working online. Will definitely be going back!

E. Z.It was great! The terrace was opened during a rainy evening, however there was shelter provided. I did find that there was a lack of seats , and the music did not seem very upbeat. The drinks were well made, and the general cleanliness of the place was impressive. However I did find the door security quite rude.

H.Hard to rate this place because its pretty awful really and very out of place in the area yet at the same time it doesn't actually appear to take itself too seriously and I always have a good night when I semi-reluctantly end up here. I want to hate it but actually I really quite like it and look forward to my next visit!

T. K.Had a table booked for the rooftop bar last night to celebrate my birthday. Booking system is very easy and no need for deposit. Got there for 7pm a very nice lady at the door took my name and then someone took us upstairs, everyone was friendly staff and security, rest of my friends came a little later we had no issues at all! (Arrive before 9pm to avoid entry fee).. We got drunk and danced in our little area. The couch was comfortable enough space for everyone up to about 7-8 people. Drinks were cheap and nice. We left the the rooftop just after 10pm maybe to go to the downstairs club BUT should have we should have just stayed upstairs it’s much better on the rooftop, music is better the vibes and crowd. I will definitely be going again to Golden Bee in the future :)

M. K.Went for some birthday drinks and booked for 20 people on Friday evening - the whole experience was amazing! Every staff member, security person + bar tender is so kind and welcoming. Bar staff in particular were really fun and hilarious. Great music and £10 for all kinds of drinks is (for me) really good value. Easily my favourite roof top in London - we'll be back soon!

C. L.I have come to this location a total of three times: the first two times were great experiences - we went for casual drinks on the rooftop during the week days ( a Tuesday and a Thursday to be precise).
Nice and comfortable venue, fairy lights, heaters and reasonable priced drinks.
Now the third time was not a good experience because it was on a Friday afternoon, after work. We were not allowed to go on the rooftop with bags and jackets, and were told to put it in the cloakroom (not free), which was really annoying because we brought presents with us for one of the girl's birthday. In order for her to unwrap it with a drink, we had to find another bar.
So I would probably only recommend going on a weekday (Tuesday-Thursday) in order to really appreciate the space and have a good time.
M. d. T.Had an incident where an ex was following me throughout London and I tucked into this place; still in a bit of shock, I went upstairs and checked my coat. I was shaken so one of the bouncers asked if I were alright and I sort of (totally) cried and told them what was going on and they all (two bouncers, two ladies at the front) like made sure he didn't get in. Totally Ace , this place is.
Aside from the drama they have a year round heated roof deck and bar, a covered smoking deck that leads to a dancefloor with the toilets downstairs. The ambiance is incredible on every level and the music is always on point.
V. D.Booked a space for 40 people for my birthday on the roof terrace. Didn't pay to book the space which is rare in London! Wicked night and everyone commented on how much fun the roof terrace was and how good the sushi canape were! Really good music too at a good level. Thanks so much to 'Wolf' the bouncer and bar staff who helped make the night so effortless, will defo be back again! :D
S. A.Reserved a table for 20 people on the rooftop, the staff at Golden Bee was so welcoming and accommodating! When we had arrived they cleared the space allocated for my party immediately, quickly cleaned the area and asked if there was anything else that I needed. I also had a cake which they brought out on time and even played a song that was dedicated to me! The staff cleaned up quickly and swiftly around all of us! Overall an absolute great time!

A. M.G&t around about £10, fairly standard for a night round here. Bouncers are fairly sensible about who they let in/out, didn't let in my friend - who was admittedly quite drunk, but let him in after an hour or two of sobering up in a kebab shop and answering a maths question! Great outdoor seating up top and plays popular music. Recommended.

I've been here a few times, I have never seen it used to it's full vibrant potential I know it can have. Not too keen on the music, but that is my personal choice. Drinks a bit pricey, but to be expected. This is a card only bar - no cash.
Staff are a laugh, helpful and polite.
Not keen on the WC's, I don't like sharing this space with men, my personal preference. It is also manned by a man. For ladies that like to doll themselves up in private, there is only one cubicle that offers a mirror, otherwise the public space is the other alternative.
I'll definitely go back as I am already a returning customer, it would be great to see the bar come alive. Perhaps I've been going on the wrong nights - usually Thursday / Friday evenings.
E. K.We had a really nice time last Friday at Golden Bee!! I had booked a table for 14 people as it was my Birthday! There was a slight mix up with our table, so they had to move us and although I had requested for a nice view, we were placed in a corner at the back but we still had a great time!! There was plenty of room for everyone, the cocktails were really tasty and in general we had a lovely evening!!
s. s.Good vibe, nice and warm roof top, 100% recommend for all ages. However, if the checks a bit late this month wait till it drops. A vodka lemonade was £9.50!! £5.50 per shot! The DJ was fire though, great old school new school tracks.

Drinks are amazing especially the cocktails. Great crowd of people and friendly bouncers. The management team are extremely welcoming. Make sure you pay this place a visit if you’re in the Old Street area.

We had one slight slip up with some drinks which was a misunderstanding but the manager very quickly rectified this and was apologetic, courteous and professional, I have been to many clubs in London and so far this has been my favourite. I would highly recommend going to the club it’s a brilliant night out, the security are efficient and kind and I met some really lovely people in the club. Had a brilliant night so thank you to the owner and staff for making this possible.

n. a.Organised my Birthday drinks on rooftop which was perfect for a summer evening in July. Very good cocktails with happy hour until 7pm. Had preordered food platter which was brought to the table on requested time. The staff also helped keep the birthday cake in fridge and bring it to the table when requested. Overall a great experience. Wish they also had food and nibbles available at the bar, but unfortunately they only had peanuts, olives and crisps. Would definitely like to go back there for drinks.

There was a happy hour for maybe the first hour we were there which included buckets of beer (bottles of beer in a bucket) and 2-4-1 cocktails.
They have heaters and a fire in the middle of the bar so it might even be great for colder nights although it was sunny when we were there.
Overall would recommend.

It's ridiculously busy at the weekends though, and you won't get upstairs without a reservation. The downstairs/indoor bar is tiny, and that bar is even more rammed and unfortunately there's no dancing room. I wouldn't go again, unless it was summer and i had guaranteed a space on the terrace.

All my friends loved the choice that i made and we are planning to come back as often as possible. I would definitely highly recommend for parties and any other events! L. T.Celebrated my 30th birthday party at Golden Bee on Saturday night and had an incredible evening. We reserved the indoor VIP area and a table on the roof terrace which was perfect until the torrential rains set in. The contrast between the secluded, atmospheric roof terrace to the urban, chic night club inside provided a perfect transition for the evening. The cosy lounges on the roof terrace were well equipped with blankets and heating, which was very necessary in the weather. The bar staff on the terrace were very helpful and attentive which made the environment very welcoming.
The VIP area was the perfect size for our party of 50+. It actually felt a little roomy compared to the rest of the bar which became increasingly full as the night progressed. Absolutely loved the décor especially the shot glass ceiling lights in the VIP area. The cocktails were delicious (especially ‘fire & ice’, and the ‘pornstar martini’) and very well priced.
The staff and events team ever superb. We put down a deposit of £100 for the night (refunded) to reserve to VIP area which is incredible value especially for such an upmarket, classy venue.
Would highly recommend this venue for any event!

There are places with better views over London (night or day, the Old Street roundabout really isn't that attractive) but it's one of the smarter bars in the area with exceptionally friendly staff. Plus, they have patio fires for when it gets a bit chilly.

L. D.Overall, the Golden Bee is a chic venue to get drinks. The drinks are creative and reasonably priced. For wine lovers, they have great Sauv Blanc and Viognier. The rooftop terrace is well heated with lamps and the cloak room is affordable.
A particular barman needs to learn to be attentive of who has been at the counter for 10 minutes and who has been there for 1 minute, and needs to learn to apologize and own his mistakes. CHECK YOUR CCTV on the right side of the middle bar last night around 10 pm and you'll see the whole interaction TIME STAMPED. The barman was wearing a grey shirt with the Jim Beam logo.
I waited at the bar with my card in hand for about 7 minutes, then another customer made his way next to me and the barman served him within 60 seconds. When the barman gave the man his drink, I told him I've been here for ten minutes and was here before the guy he served. Then I told him my order. He nodded after I said it....and began making drinks.....for other people and taking orders from more people! I assumed he was making mine at the same time. The lady bartender asked if I'd been served yet and I told her I thought so. When I asked the guy if he was making me drink he shook his head. THAT'S what upset me. Why did you nod your head after I placed my drink order?
I don't care how cute this place is, I won't be back for awhile.

K. G.Tucked down a little alleyway off Old Street, outsiders could easily miss Golden Bee. But for those in the know, its low-key doorway leads to two floors beautiful bar. The setting is a lot more swanky than I expected - perfect for those who want to visit trendy Shoreditch but aren't quite ready to face the sweaty walls and skanky toilets that characterise many of the other bars in the area.
The balcony upstairs is definitely the best thing about Golden Bee and perfect for watching the sun go down over a nice cocktail. Considering the surroundings, I also thought the bar staff were refreshingly unpretentious and down-to-earth which was a nice surprise. One thing I did notice though is that it does tend to get busy upstairs, and even if you book you aren't guaranteed enough seats for all of your party - so it's worth getting there early to grab enough space.

S. F.When you get to golden bee, go out the door and climb up as many stairs as you see until you'll finally get to the rooftop, which is one of the most stunning rooftop bars in London.
While the view isnt overly impressive, the decor on the rooftop is top notch, and with an array of heaters and an open gas fire the cold weather isnt much of an issue.
There is a bar on the floor also so you dont need to move down to the indoor bar to pick up your next drink, though the range is not extensive.
Unfortunately they dont take bookings unless you're in a reasonably large group, as the spaces there are all set to cater for reasonable size groups, but there's a reasonable chance of a walk in seat if you arrive early in the evening, and worst case you can stand by the open fire with a beer in hand.

The reason im telling you all this is because my 21 yr old went out with her friends on saturday and she had far to much to drink in the shoreditch area and somehow she got seperated from her group of friends. She stumbled/staggered down a side street and was stopped by the doormen of a club called Golden Bee which resulted in them calling the owner who was apparently on site and after several phone calls to me from the owner Denise Chadler my daughter was put in a cab and PAID FOR by them safe and sound to me. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou because god knows what day i would be having if it wasnt for the Doormen and Denise......... from a relieved and very happy mum of a very embarrassed 21 yr old
