Reviews of Goodman's Field - JD Wetherspoon
A. K.
I went with my friend there and had a good time. We ordered five beans with soft drink. We also got rice, papadam and nachos. They have ample of space. Staff were cooperative and nice.
J. H.
First visit, had a pizza which was fab, my daughters child meal was dissapointing as the chips were barely warm.
Overall though the toilets were fantastic and clean, staff very pleasant, location was excellent and only 1 minute walk from our hotel, shame about the chips or would have given a 5* rating
S. P.
Just your normal spoons! We've been disappointed previously with them not having any breakfast available but hadn't advertised it upon entry and today they couldn't take card.. yet declined our £50 note. Other than that, food is good grub and cocktails are just like in all spoons ... very nice 👌
D. C.
Decent. Did the job.
You can get pints from £2 here (a specific IPA). Doom bar was £3.50 which was easy to drink.
The group of people that I was with the vast majority had a great time at the venue and were happy to get their drinks cheaper than anywhere else in the area.
C. M.
Visiting London ate here tonight with my wife and son fed three of us with drinks for thirty quid good food speedy service and great staff well done everyone
C. P.
Visiting London and we are using thus pub as our local. Such a lovely group of staff. ❤ Friendly, helpful and really happy to help and serve you. 😊 Family friendly and a good atmosphere no matter what the day.
N. E.
Standard JD Wetherspoons establishment.
However one knows what to expect.
Decent food & drink at reasonable prices, good service & a large venue, plenty of tables.
Perfect for traveler's on a budget.
N. F.
The BEST Wetherspoon ever. I have been in many and this one is the BEST so far. Amazing tasty food and really nice staff. Thank you so much 🥰
I will definitely be back!!!
N. M.
Decent pub atmosphere. Food was alright.
M. N.
I would of given this place 5 stars had it not been for the riff raff that have been allowed in it's doors. The staff are fantastic with its patrons, the food was amazingly delicious. But what ruined my entire experience was the fact their was very boistrous Irish gypsy women overly shouting as they speak. Swear words and all.
C. M.
Very nice Pub in the heart of the city. Very close to Aldgate station plus Aldgate East.
Numerous seating arrangements, indoor n outdoor. Friendly staff
Very extensive menu both for food n drinks which you can order off their App and it's delivered to ur table. You can also go right up to the bar n place ur order if u so wish.
There is a wheelchair accessible entrance as well.
There are some slot machines for gamers.
I suggested to the staff both times I've been there to start a Karaoke night cos I think it would be a great hit and they have the atmosphere for it.
P. D.
Sign of the times, I guess, but not good enough Wetherspoons! Greeted by a sign at the entrance saying no food after 8pm. At least they could have a limited menu, surely some of their meals are easy to cook for a kitchen with one team member in. Staff at the bar were lovely.
N. C.
Cheap and cheerful drinks, very convenient for after work or for a lunch. Can get very busy at peak times but usually able to get a table. The only Spoons I've been to where you don't have a 5 mile trek to go to the loo.
P. W.
Nice place, good atmosphere. However, after queueing for 20 mins to order breakfast (one member of staff taking food orders and pulling pints) the meal arrived almost cold. Goodness only knows how this happens when breakfasts are being cooked continually at this time of day.
S. G. -. F. M.
Absolutely can't go wrong for value and the breakfast food was really good. We had breakfast 2 days on the run here and despite the requirement to order at the table using the app, they were still happy to tweak my order once it had been placed to make it dairy free.
Super helpful and friend staff.
L. H.
Had a breakfast here and got to say one of the better wetherspoons I have been to. The breakfast was hot and staff was really friendly. Take note other wetherspoons
M. O.
Pub was your standard Wetherspoons: clean, consistent food, good coffee.
HOWEVER the staff were amazing and helped me retrieve my phone after I forgot it at our table, had they not acted I most likely would have never seen my phone again.
K. W.
Stopped in for an hour or so on a Saturday afternoon…The barman Charles went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed in such an upbeat manor that I will make it my mission to return to this venue again…thanks again Charles…a raise is is defo in order 💯
m. h.
Excellent service and good choice of drinks. Excellent staff. Always number 1 choice when meeting friends from all over London. Superior food menu and good food.
D. M.
Food was fantastic, drinks were ok price.
Place was clean enough along with the toilets.
B. L.
Our was next to hotel I was in. Cleaner than a few witherspoons I have been in. The staff were friendly and service was quick.
E. W.
Pub food at its best. Slow service but the food is quite good and reasonable. The menu is extensive for breakfast, with many options. I had the mushroom benedict and it was pretty good. Coffee from Lavazza is bland.
J.
Close to Fenchurch Street and Aldgate stations, and has the usual 'Spoons menu. Food and drinks are the quality and price you'd expect for Wetherspoons, and table service is pretty quick.
V. P.
All the staff here are lovely and very helpful. The food was fantastic, I had a chicken burger with brie and chilli jam. It was a huge portion! I couldn't finish it so I asked for a takeaway box. They gave me everything is needed to finish my meal later on. So kind.
Very busy in here but still get served quickly. Great atmosphere with people from all walks of life. Perfect place to meet, drink and eat.
b. s.
Just behind Tower Hill Station Reasonably priced and quiter then Liberty Bounds round the corner friendly and helpful staff clean and worth while a visit
d.
Very busy 'spoons. Took ages getting served at the bar as it seems only one member of staff tasked with that.
Having said that it's a clean and bright pub and the beer is good
S. L. (. N. M.
Good service with friendly staff, the fish and chips was fresh
However beef lasagna was serving with cold. Temperature.
M. S.
I've made an enquiry re; medical records' transfer to a new practice. Although it is still being looked into for an outcome and resolution. I was really impressed with the administrator who took the telephone call. I just wanted to give some positive feedback regarding one staff namely Nusrat Khanom. She has demonstrated excellent patient care, politeness, being considerate over the phone, taking messages well, helping to ensure message is passed on well to ultimately resolve queries and above all communicating clearly.
M. P.
A great Wetherspoons. Friendly staff, hot food and a great atmosphere. We'll worth a visit for a few pints whilst in London...
D. H.
Reasonable Weatherspoons... you know what you will get... the breakfast was good . The staff friendly and its good value for money if you looking for cheap
N. F.
A convenient and well set out, small Wetherspoons pub. A lot of menu items and real ales unavailable, presumably due to the fuel and drivers crises. Like many Wetherspoons, the food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering via the app. Also, like many Wetherspoons, the tables were sticky and needed a good wiping and were not cleared of plates once diners had left. If staff leave the kitchen with a meal in each hand, why can't they pick up the used glasses and plates on their return journey? It seems obvious to me!
O. F.
Fantastic. Best spoons yet.
5 / 20 for the night
S. B.
It's a Wetherspoons.
Nothing exciting, but at least prices were lower than the local competition.
Kept getting ice in the soft drinks, despite the app clearly stating 'no ice'. 🙄
C. M.
When in London always good to know where the nearest Wetherspoon's is around lunchtime - best value meal and a drink deals in the capital. This one just north of Tower Bridge; usual prompt service and great value.
G. D. (.
It was OK. Cheap drinks but some food was not available when ordered. The Weatherspoons looked dilapidated and the toilets were less than be desired.
J. L.
First time in here. Nice atmosphere and the curry i had was very tasty. Will definitely return.
j. g.
Good location with stone-throw distance from couple of high-end hotels. Food is attractive price-quality wise.
p.
I thought this was going to be the usual spoons but no, we ate here a couple of nights and surprisingly the food was always hot and very nice, the staff were very friendly apart from Louisa who was as miserable as sin never once cracked a smile and very hard to lalk to, but apart from that would definately go again next time i am down there
U. S.
A elegant establishment to say the least. The fish that comes as part of the fish and chips is big. And bigger is always better.
M. R.
Nice and cosy and perfect for a pint or two. £4.99 for brewdog IPA, £4.29 for shipyard. £2.99 for doombar
E. R.
Great service..standard pub grub...Great location too.
K. S.
Nice pub fairly quiet for a witherspoon but it was a week night . Ordered through app which was easy .They do allow orders at the var. Staff friendly
K. R.
Busy pub only had a couple if pre match drinks but it was fine. Shame there's not another bar on upstairs floor as only bar downstairs
M.
Nice boozer toilets are clean, staff are friendly, foods good.
G. B.
This place became my local for the week whilst attending a training course in London. Lovely pub, good selection of food and very reasonably priced for the location. Can't fault it.
J. C.
Had a lovely lunch. Safe friendly and helpful 🙂
H. Q.
Wetherspoon quality food but spend me like half an hour to get my food served, friendly and helpful staff though
J. S.
Very helpful staff, nice food nice beer....one of the bar staff put me staff a table with a charging point ....was very nice and helpful
R. H.
Amazing place brilliant staff comfy an clean
J. C.
Pepperoni pizza was surprisingly good for the cheap price and Spoons' reputation. And drinks, as usual in any Spoons, were cheap compared to the country pubs that I frequent. The (albeit few due to app ordering) staff we encountered were courteous and friendly, which is key to a pleasant experience in my book.
On the other hand, we had a crazy-looking woman confront their partner right next to us, EastEnders-style. Screaming her lungs out and yeeting the poor guy's drink out of his hands, which went flying and clattered on the hard floor, breaking the deathly silence enveloping the entire pub.
Still, it's a Spoons. So no surprise.
Great food, exceptional value, and unexpected evening entertainment.
J. O.
Today was my first time in London and the staff at this spoons were absolutely phenomenal, especially Leon and Elizabeth. They were some of the friendliest hospitality staff I have ever met and it will be a pleasure to come back in the future. Thank you both for today!
J. L.
Great pub good overall atmosphere 10/10.
A. W.
Meals we're ok, not great, we've had lot better in other weatherspoons. As we we're staying in a Travelodge, we looked it up online, and it was just over the road 😊 so we arranged our days knowing that we could finish off in there, only to find out that instead of closing at 12 midweek and 1am Friday it closed at 11pm 😞
Then they only give you 10mins drinking uptime, really felt like we were getting chased out. When I showed one of the staff the opening/closing times. She said that the new time's are on the front door. It only takes minute's to update the times. So ended up spoiling our London break's last night. Worse weatherspoons we have been in to up until now.which is a shame, as it's got everything going for it.
A. E.
Very worthwhile. Accommodating and friendly team, good choice of beers on tap. Special thanks to Alana, Jennifer and Tallen for their help and professionalism. Proper steak lovers may not be too impressed (given the price and that it's a pub, it's still a decent meal) but breakfast is absolutely superb - would love it if they could offer all-day breakfast!
P. S.
Great breakfasts at an affordable price near the city.
M. T.
A typical spoons. AMAZING value for money, but not the cleanest place you’ll ever eat.
Good atmosphere and outdoor seating available too
F.
Great place with a great atmosphere, and right outside the Leonardo Royal Hotel making it very convenient. Manager's special was Raspberry Mojitos which were very tasty, and by that I mean we ordered multiple pitchers! Food was great and didn't take long to prepare.
r. d.
Great location, near Tower Bridge and Whitechapel.
Typical 'Spoon value for money, even in central London.
Will definitely be visiting again.
m. s.
Great staff good value well kept real ale
A. B.
Nice quiet, not busy, just how I like it..
Quite like the efficient table only service - we should keep this on! Staff were busy cleaning all the necessary surfaces. Only slightly downside was not too inspiring selection of beers on tap, the usual "London Pride/Abbot/Doombar, unlike other JDW branches. Some even had "Old Peculiar" on tap - my favourite! 😋
V. N.
Good place to eat ,good location close to local amenities.Reasonable prices and helpful staff.
J. W.
Great Weatherspoon. Very busy at the weekend and a bit of a wait for breakfast on a Sat. But nothing you wouldn't expect.
a. “. o. i.
I had really nice breakfast . Big breakfast cost £6.10 and it was decent , coffee refills :) .
Good place to visit .
S.
Not the best I've been to,real lack of beer's draught n bottles, food is ok
D. M.
Great value and nice place. Michael behind the bar is a lil hotty too 😍
D. V.
Clean, tidy, good value, nice breakfast.
A. M.
One of the cleanest pubs I have been in, with table service mandatory it felt more like being in a restaurant than a pub. Not sure if it is the effect of Covid or the location but the place was empty on a Friday night. Ordered a burger, nothing to get excited about, in terms of quality it tasted like a McDonald's with more fresh salad. At the end of the evening I was offered a plastic cup to out my drink in if I didn't think I would finish it, which I guess explains the amount of plastic cups I see thrown around not to far from other spoons (can't say I saw anything like that here) Friendly staff would go here again.
B. M.
Tip: sit inside, not outside (way too much traffic noise). Inside is very comfy, spacious, plenty of window seats - and the toilets are great!
A. R.
Brilliant place and huge space.
Good service.
M. C.
Visited a couple of times over the weekend. Ale was good and food was too.
B. J.
Handy for pub food and a good range of beer and ales at ok prices for London. All day tea and coffee available.
S. C.
Friendly staff very clean great atmosphere and good food
I. V.
Place is nice, clean, staff are polite, but in the evening they run out of food in the menu was available only burgers and bfast that why 4 stars.
V. T.
It's very nice place fish and chips better than a fish shop I really enjoyed it
S. K.
Just landed, hungry, and here I am enjoying my favorite breakfast dish! This here is the large breakfast minus pudding. They were out of pudding this morning 😭
If you’ve never tried the big breakfast, you’re missing out! 🙌🏻
C.
Food nice but waitress had to go back to kitchen three times to get order right which was not very good and still did not get it right bits missing so if you go in there check your dinner when it comes to you
L. K.
Chicken burger was hard and dry. Gammon was hard and dry and was basically only two slices of ham. However the halloumi and fries are amazing.
D. S.
The waiting time was quite long but place and the food made up for it.
D. E.
Quite a nice atmosphere, affordable ppave to grab a drink near tower hill.
J. P.
Nice place food would have been better of served got.
A. R.
Perfectly good Wetherspoons, as you'd expect. More rowdy at 10 than I'm familiar with from my country mouse existence. Shame the boss is a Brexit supporting idiot, but the eggs benedict are good and reliable (they can't source salmon right now, so no eggs royale!) Warnings on the table to watch your bags, which is also something you don't get in the rural North. There's even a settee in the women's toilets - maybe so you can sit and rest while your girlfriends are reapplying their make up? On the other hand, toilet paper is so high on the wall i had to search for it, then stretch to my limit to access while sitting down. Free refills of coffee are great, because you can get as much as you can out of the Brexit supporting idiot while you're here.
A. S.
Quick and efficient , food came to us quickly and great if you are still worried about the covid side as plastic boards are up
E.
Service quick but lack of choice on menu. Lots of things out of stock.
S. D.
Food OK. Drink full of ice and hardly any coke. Asked for pint glass and poured coke into it and it wasn't even half full so definitely not a pint of coke.
V. G.
A pleasant pub, not over crowded, fast service, usual wetherspoons menu.
N. G.
Good little drinking pub got some good beers on one real ale on good frindly staff good place to go for a few drinks with friends afternoon or evening good meal

❤️ No London pub experience would be complete without a trip to Wetherspoons. This spoons was big, busy and had a good lively atmosphere. Standard fare for drinks and food alike but reasonable as ever.
📊 Information correct on visiting 08/09/17
P. D.
Had ran out of sausages and hot chocolate. Was disappointed with that
W. F.
Spoons in London... You know what you are getting.. drinks are a beer steep comparing to other spoons... But it is central London..
J. B.
Decent enough pub. Good selection of beers and good food menu.Outside seating areas are okay as well. Local to the Tower of London and surrounding areas of Aldgate east. 👌😋
L. W.
Not mad busy which is a plus. Staff behind bar were happy 🙂
M. S.
Toilets appalling other than that okay. Really surprised at wetherspoon for this as never seen such a state
D. G.
Excellent as usual. Great dishes. Great beer. Good prices.
M. B.
Great breakfast! Long wait but worth it.
A. D.
Nice pub, good staff and very polite.
G. R.
A nice Wetherspoons Pub near Tower Bridge but one of the more expensive ones in London!
J. Q.
Excellent freshly prepared food, coupled with excellent service.
D. S.
Excellent value for money, visited several times during our stay in london. Always pretty busy though.
P. B.
I asked for no salad in the burger but it still came with it. Other than that can't really fault this pub. Food was good. Kids loved the desserts. App worked well and food came out quickly.
S. L.
Great value for money great breakfast
Á.
Large place, went there to have an English Breakfast. It's not so cozy like other places, but the food was nice and the waiter was really helpful.
P. H.
Good beer nice staff nice price Weatherspoons great value for the money
M. G.
Very good food unlike many spoons food is hot and staff are very friendly apart from louisa who could not be friendly or crack a smile if het life depended on it, but Mary the manager is very bubbly and friendly
R. W.
"Warm cookie dough sandwich with icecream" - 715kcal in its most appealing shape! 😍
The Food is just amazing!
L. B.
Very busy as London marathon day. Excellent service great atmosphere
K. D.
Great menu, good value and good vibes 👌
P. W.
Download the app the food and service are excellent and the price is reasonable .
I. B.
You know what you're getting with a Wetherspoons: cheap n' cheerful. While every 'spoons pub doesn't endear itself to me, this one put in a pretty good effort over several nights on the trot. The food is a good price and the allergens lists are a lot more instructive than they were. OK, that's a company thing (thanks for that!) but the branch staff here seemed prepared to give the service the best shot they could whenever asked. Like the nick-of-time change of chips to onion rings we forgot to request when ordering, and the butter that appeared for my jacket spud when asked. Plus the best efforts possible to negotiate the huge range of gins on offer. Best way to sum it up is that I actually felt our custom was valued. Why only a four? Well, I know it's a tad hard for staff to keep on top of them in a large, busy pub like this, but getting hold of printed menus for the tables was harder than it should have been.
b. m.
Perfect atmosphere n great food 😎😁
S. B.
Great steak n Chips with free drink on Tuesdays really nice
R. H.
Google states closing time is 1am but we was kicked out at 11.15pm
E. B.
Lovely place for a meal and cheap drinks
I. L.
Can't beat this place for value. Establishment very clean.
A. R.
Just had a great mixed grill and a pint of London Pride for just over a tenner! Don't order the larger mixed grill unless you are really hungry, I only just finished a regular one. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Nice one 'spoons!
A. A.
great spoons! staff are very polite and friendly!! drinks come quickly and didnt encounter any issues here
C. d. K.
Had a decent breakfast here. Loads of options. Only thing I found a bit weird is that after 12:00 on Sunday you can't order breakfast anymore but there is a all day brunch option even though the only difference stemmed to be that the toast is replaced by fries.
c. j.
Really liked this branch - a stone's throw from the Tower of London - okay - a couple of Stones throw. The decor is light and atmosphere pleasant. I was served quickly, food arrived quickly and as advertised. It was quite popular around 12 on a Sunday - mostly with people going to the footy. Sat outside but moved inside as the outside tables were full of smokers. C'est la vie.
D. A.
Very nice food and drinks The staff was excellent.
Looks like the mangers have this pub set up in just the right way in dealing with covid -19
Great location Tim Martin should be very proud of this pub
p. h.
Food is always good nice staff and always clean
M. C.
I used the app for the first time today. It's probably the best decision I made that day.
There was about 10 of us all together. We were in our world's chatting and gassing with whoever we were next. It would of been chaos if we all went up and ordered. So we all downloaded the app and ordered.
It wasn't long before the drinks started arriving. Not long after, the food came. Pretty impressed with the speed of it all considering I hadn't spoken to any member of staff at this point.
The food was good as well. It was your classic wetherspoons on a good day.
M. N.
Very busy with what seemed like more than half the seats reserved. The food was reasonable price but was not nice. Found a sticker in with my lamb shank the server said it was from the tub in the kitchen. When I got to eat it was not nice. Mash seemed microwaved and were dry and flakey. The lamb didn't have much fast.
S.
As with any Wetherspoon there's an expectation it's absolutely massive and the toilets are a ten minute walk away, but here they're not, it's actually quite normal.
We didn't sample the food but shared a selection of drinks and were offered ice where necessary and given the correct glassware as per brand guidelines.
The staff that served us we're freindly and offered a suggestion which we declined but appreciated.
My only drawback here is being asked to leave at around 11pm, which we felt was too early to close in the location, but that may be out of their control.
Have been before and will go again.
S. B.
Called in for breakfast, usually visit here when staying in the Aldgate area.
As always quick service, enjoyed the food, clean and tidy pub.
S. H.
Good place foe a quick drink
B. B.
Decent enough pub. Don't expect silver service or anything fancy but at the same time the busy atmosphere will help to make you feel welcome. Resonable prices too. Not cheap of course but if you wanted cheap you would buy budget larger at a supermarket or off licence and drink at home wouldn't you. People tend to drink at bars, pubs, clubs and other alcohol serving venues for the socializing aspect that goes hand in hand with such establishments. Thus you will find that very thing right here as well.
D. D.
Really good fish and chips. Nice pub!
T. K.
Great service. Good food and cold beer. What more could you ask for.
D. S.
Nice atmosphere and free refills
M. R.
Although the staff are very good the customers themselves provide a fragile atmosphere, if you know what I mean
T. B.
Had a lovely meal today. Could not fault it. Not too crowded and got served quite quickly.
J. A.
Big place, easy way to order, good selection of beers and other drinks. Big menu, but we ordered Tennessee burger and a full burger. Well it was over cooked. The taste was ok, but i was not impressed. Service was fast and good, no complains there.
B. H.
What you’d expect from any Wetherspoons but everything on this particular occasion was spot on. £31 for 2 main meals and 2 very nice cocktails in the middle of London, you can’t complain at all.
S. C.
One of the most reasonably priced pubs in London. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Varied menu and large portioned plates. Watch out for the daily offers on selected foods!
Drinks are also well priced and has a good selection of craft beer.
r. m.
Nice place nice beer and the staff friendly too 🙂
J. F.
Good, reasonably priced food, friendly staff and quick service.
T. H. (.
The typical Wetherspoons experience - low prices, good service, broad menu and options, and more than satisfactory food. Both ordering at the bar and through the app were efficient and effortless.
Flexibility for alternative sides (that weren't originally in the deal) were impressive.
An especially enthusiastic nod towards the staff, who recovered a lost bag.
l. V. t.
Amazing all the time my favorite pub in london
A. C.
Busy and quite noisy, but that's because it's popular. Reasonable food at good prices. Efficient service.
T. A.
Solid location. Decent prices for the area. Can't say it is the best spoons i have been to but nothing to complain about! Do recommend if you are about but would not visit the area for just this
N. B.
The atmosphere is not really what I expect from a pub, it's quite loud and bright. But on the plus side, the staff is friendly, they have a large selection of beer, and the prices are very reasonable. The fish and chips was good.
P. M.
Great place , staff are friendly , food is delicious ,
T. S.
Pretty much your standard Wetherspoons pub - and the prices are great! Meals are very competitive, and all come with a drink of your choice. It's not the best place to go, but it is perfect if you don't have a lot to spend!
a. w.
Great place, fantastically helpful accommodating staff, food good value for money, well done Valerio and all your staff.
C. C.
Really nice place to grab a beer before going somewhere or just to chat with your mates. Don't expect them to put some tune while you're here, though.
R. O.
My friend and I had an okay experience at this pub. When in the area, I tend to buy my drinks from Wetherspoons as it is otherwise difficult to find reasonably priced beer in the capital. However, they were all out of our drink of choice (Guinness) and several other suggestions in what was early evening on a weekday.
The atmosphere was friendly, and it wasn't too long a wait to be served at that time by staff that were welcoming enough.
L.
Right next to the hotel. Friendly staff. Went there both nights.
If you're using the app on a busy night be prepared to wait 15+ minutes for one drink. Understandable on a Saturday but doesn't feel great when it also turns out after 30 minutes they actually forgot to do your drinks too.
Food was fast and nice just a little underdone.
Cocktails tasted great!
M. Y.
Amazing service, amazing food, with toilets included. All in all, a great place.
w.
Surprising that there is only one coffee machine. The queue to use it was heading back towards the toilets on one of the days we visited. Surely you could afford another coffee machine with all the profit you make in this particular Wetherspoons?
A. P.
Big and bright 'Spoon. Food and drinks were typical for a Wetherspoon, good value, good food and served with a smile. Badly let down by the toilets though. The three toilets in the gents were all dirty and the one I had to use didn't flush. Graffiti in the cubicles too. The paper on the wall said that it had been checked 10 minutes before I used it. This was today. Visit if you don't need to go.
C. B.
My husband & I had the manager's special, which was the mixed grill - it was £4.99 excellent value for money, plus we had 2 pints of beer & the apple crumble with ice cream, I wonder why custard has been taken off you menu.
K. S.
It's a Weatherspoon pub. The menu helpfully shows the calories for each dish, which tend to be high: typically 800 to 1000. On the day we went their salad delivery hadn't come and there were no light meals.
N. P.
Lovely family orientated spoons! Very clean and welcoming
t. i.
Went as a group of four. No complaints about food, drinks or service. Nice weatherspoon, plus you dont have to walk up any stairs to get to the bathroom!
B. D.
This is definitely one of my favourite Wetherspoons. The kitchen is good, bar staff attentive most of the times, toilets are clean and the whole place is quite cosy but with a rather modern approach. Even the tables are cleared quite promptly, not what you're used to really at Spoons :)
E. F.
The staff are so friendly here, that's why the five star. It's a spoons, it's got the same menu, drinks, WiFi, TV screens etc but the real difference is the excellent customer service. The people working here are helpful happy and make your day easy, well done Goodmans - you got it right!
M. U.
Great place to meet up with friends for a drink and a bite to eat 😁😁
Z. G. D. S.
Visited the Roman Catholic Chirch of the English Martyrs here for a few moments of quiet prayer.
T. D.
It was 10.30 am in london. I was heaving breakfast with my girlfriend while on the tv there was the rugby game England vs Newzealand. So at 10.30 am there was a very amusing atmosphere... everyone was drinking beer at that time... and England won the semi finals... breakfast was ok/good for that price. Coffee as much as you like.
C. F.
Nice place and nice food, as always
A. J.
A great find So busy and yet prompt service
J. M. M.
Good service with good food and drink at reasonable prices.
O. Z.
Great and quick service, big portions for a fair price, loved the atmosphere
J. D.
Service was quick and was just over the road from a premier inn so could come over for breakfast in the morning, we used the app to buy our drinks and food and it just made the whole expirience more pleasant and easy to do. I am staying in that premier inn again so will be happy to visit again!
f. h.
It's a witherspoon how good will it get ?
m. h.
Great service..yummy food ..didnt have to wait long..one thing is can staff turn the A.C down..it was so cold in there it was like the Artic..bur other than cannot complain..great food.
Reasobably priced too
M.
Very nice breakfast, very friendly hope to be back soon
D.
I've been here on a Saturday afternoon . The place looked lovely and the staff was nice but the food was awful (I had a Grilled Chicken Burger that was obviously not freshly made ,it had a thick ,hard and dry layer on the side) , the table were I was sitting was sticky and the soft drink glasses were dirty and sticky as well . I've been here before before and it was amazing, I don't know why their service dropped but I hope they can resolve those minor issues.
E. C.
It was a nice weatherspoons the food was good but no desserts what's that all about.
J. x.
Great place for breakfast, drinks on an evening
U. C.
Like any other Wetherspoon it is affordable, decent food, quite crowded in the evenings. Recommend installing their app and using it to order if you are eating.
K. C.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the fact you can order and pay from the app is just brilliant. Serves pub food with some great meal choices, has something for everyone.
L. B.
The menus and table tops were very sticky and gross but food and service was great
R. Ż.
If only the tables were cleaner, I would give you 5 stars. Apart from the cleanliness issue, everything else was fine and would come back! Ordering food via app is really cool!
A. W.
Lovely burgers. Ate until full. Chips crunch and full of flavour. Burger had a lovely peppered flavour too didn't expect this but loved it. Nice cold cider helped on hot day.
M. G.
Standard weatherspoons pub, usual menu on offer and a good selection of drinks. Great breakfast as a cheaper alternative when staying in the area.
Could do with a bit of TLC like most weatherspoons but it is what it is
K. B.
Good place, always lively enough but doesn't get so busy it's a problem. Good selection of beers. Big and airy if you like that kind of thing, I prefer booths and corner tables, but that's choice.
J. C.
Fast service and not bad atmosphere for a weatherspoons. Good value food and drink for london
D. M.
Well it's a wetherspoons. Don't expect more and you won't be shocked. Although I was charged more for my drink than In others ones. Decent food and drink and good prices
J. M.
Had a slight mishap with one of our meals, but the manager couldn't have done more to rectify. Service was excellent and the food overall was very good. Would definitely go back
a.
Good wetherspoon pub, clean and spacious. Popular with tourists. Good outdoor space up front. Prices are very agreeable. Close to public transport, tubes, DLR and trains. Short walk to the Tower of London.
J. E.
Reasonable spoons in central London, not overly crowded on a Saturday night. Big windows enable lots of natural light. Food and drink as you would expect from the chain. Prices higher than some others given the location.
b. H.
Great place in the city for a great breakfast if your staying at a Travelodge.
J. F.
Colorful outlet. Nice ambiance. The menu is diverse. The food is great. Tasty appetizers. You should try chicken tenders. Good burgers as well. Alert staff. Good service.
e. “. V. I.
Not being bias. But, this one of my favourite pubs (partly because I worked there 10 yrs ago) of JD Wetherspoons. But, this pub has moved strength to strength adapting to the changing area. The service is great at non peak times, but rather messing at others. The pub layout is great and have a extensive outter front beer garden area. There are 3 HD tvs showing news.
E. G.
Good atmosphere friendly staff
R. H.
Goodman’s Field Wetherspoons was a decent size Wetherspoons in a good location. The toilets are located on the ground floor. The food was of good quality for a Wetherspoons. Friendly staff. Plenty of seating. You can use the Wetherspoons App there to order food directly to your table. Toilets were lovely and clean and big.
D. P.
You know Wetherspoons, so you know what you're getting, it is in a good area and since most of the places nearby are expensive, it is probably a good place to start your drinks if you are heading to Tower Hill area.
The place itself is large, only one floor I think...unless there are stairs I've never seen.
The food was good last time I ate, they have free Wifi, and always deals on shots. You know the deal.
Open at the weekend too, which for the area, is an exception rather than the rule as the area shuts down over the weekend.
Y. G.
Good traditional pub. A good variety of beer and food! Its a very spacious pub and you can deffinitelly find a quiet corner to enjoy a date . Very reasonable prices and a super quick service. Fresh food and nice staff.
P. H.
Good breakfast , great price.
T. B.
Drinks ok but not a warm pub have to keep your coat on . went back to this pub 28th October 2018 was still very cold inside. I like cold drinking cold beer but not in a freezing cold pub. Most people sitting with their coats on.went back on a Saturday Nov because the liberty bounds was so busy could not get a table. But liberty bounds is a much warmer pub. Across from tower of London.
m. m.
Nice
B. H. (.
Great food lovely ambience
J. J.
Stayed few weeks ago in Travelodge across the road from this Weatherspoons and was delighted to see it across the road from our Travelodge. Food was cheaper and nicer and also they had free wifi that travelodge didnt have so highly recommend you grab some proper breakfast in there you definitelly wont be disappointed!
4 stars only because weatherspoons is pub grub and not necessary high quality gastropub, but setiously for a tourist on a budget this place will feed you well!
I. L.
Average pub food, it’s cool you can order via app.
Beer was fresh but tables could be cleared faster
M. D.
Nice place to stay for dinner and drink
B. L.
Usual great value wetherspoons fayre in East London
R. C.
Cheap. Food may be bereft of nutrition, and bring along your own wipes to clsan the cutlery. The soft drinks must cost about a penny to produce, but the savings are passed back to customers in charging reasonable prices unlike the newfangled gastro pubs which take the P, charging you 5times the price for a cheap beer.
R. S.
Tourist review: the place is amazing, it gives off british vibes, the food is cheap compared to other places in the center of london and the portions are huge! Highly recommend it for other tourist who want to avoid overpriced restaurants.
L. N.
A pretty solid pub all things considered. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it but if you happpen to be unlucky enough to live in this area of Tower Hamlets then definitely go see it.
If not the Liberty Bounds is far, far better
V. v. A.
Service was ok. Food was ok, but nothing special. We ordered some ales and they all came room temperature. The prices were good and it seemed like a place mostly visited by local working class. It's ok for a quick stop, but wouldn't recommend it for further than that.
P. C.
Really good example of Wetherspoons - bright, clean with friendly staff and good beers on tap.
Can be a little soulless due to being one large room but it does everything you'd expect really well.
K. K.
Nice place for meetings with friends. Many beers to choose, good atmosphere, food and prices. I recommend
I. S.
Nice breakfast good service
g. w.
Light lunch can get very busy and noisy
H. i. h. 6. M.
Love my meal enjoy the pub enjoy the time with my friends 🤗🤗🤗
R. T.
Love Goodman's Field. Come here every year for Xmas drinks. Nice chilled place with quick service. Don't forget to use the app!
K. R.
Friendly staff and fast service, standard spoons experience
L.
Nice place, friendly staff, but very slow
J. W.
Good prices. Good amount of seats. Served fast.
S. H.
Steak Tuesday and a good service. Nice enough pub.
A. P.
Standard Spoons, decent prices, alright food, good atmosphere
M. E.
Slow service. Food only tepid. Friendly staff
A. C.
Lovely quiet place, table service was straight forward and enjoyed the food. Staff was polite
C. F.
Standard Wetherspoons with good value food and drink. Quick service at the bar although they could be doing with removing a couple of tables to give a bit more space as it all seems a bit cramped.
K. D.
Service was poor, very slow and the beer poured was below par. The food was average but came very quickly with the app. Although there was a fish finger in our portion of chicken wings 🤔
P. B.
Short walk from Tower Bridge but far enough to get a seat not known by tourists. It's a weatherspons so simple food and cheaper prices than other pubs in the area
H.
Very cute vibe of spoons. Very friendly staff. Would definitely come again!
K. L.
Had best curry and pint, lovely experience
B. V.
In general it is OK but little bit disappointed this time by ,something beers & foods was not available
anyway better next time
T.
Right now my fave place on earth. Amazing friendly staff - and helpful! They have BLACK DRAGON CIDER on cask! The Sunday roast was delicious, I'm frothing at the mouth with fandom. Why can't more businesses be as consistent as wetherspoons?
Happy. Happy happy happy happy happy.
And if you see my other reviews you'll see how unhappy I usually am. How nice it is to be pleased, and I swear I'm low maintenance haha!
R. M.
As expected full of builders and food and drink good 👍 thank you.
D. C.
Great Wetherspoons, what's more to say
G. A.
Great for a breakfast, normal for a dinner. If you are hungry, ask for the big breakfast, it will come very well prepared. They also have refil coffee, loved it. Reasonable prices.
T. P.
Came here twice whilst visiting London sightseeing and found it to be excellent. Staff are lovely and the food was brilliant at very reasonable prices. Nice one!
J. H.
We always have a drink up round tower hill the weatherspoons opposite the tower is lovely but always rammed and boiling hot so 5 min walk away is this one nice and open get a nice big table and plenty of food and cheapish booze for the price of the area also properly the nicest kept toilets good pub love it
S. T.
Nice quiet pub with a good choice of grub, perfect for families or as a pit stop before heading home. Staff always friendly and knowledgeable of the choices available to the punter.
S. O.
Feels like it's I'm the middle of nowhere.its okay .
U. C.
Good pub. Great for a drink after a long day. If you are staying at the Tower Grange Hotel this is the place to pop out to just down the street for a drink with friends.
C. M.
Was staying in the travelodge across the road and only spotted the Goodmans from the hotel. Had already eaten in the hotel first night (awful) and Goodmans was much better. Seating along the windows on two sides with many other single travelers so didn't feel out of place eating alone. Food and beer was good and very reasonable price, particularly for the area. Won't hesitate to go back.
W. S.
Very old style place. Full of life but relaxing too
S. T.
Food was nice and very cheap. Only critism is that you get what you pay for. Staff could be friendlier and tables could be cleaner but I would go again purely from a value point if view
M. G.
Quick efficient service, wide choice of menu
R. R.
Standard spoons. Was there on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy so easy to find seats. No complaints except it closes at 11pm every day and doesnt take 50s
G. L.
Good cheap food, courteous staff. .an excellent place to eat and Chill out. ..so close to Tower Bridge but never over crowded. Ten out of ten for service, quality and reasonable prices.
J. W.
Alright there. A clean and tidy Whetherspoons. Fast bar service and lighting fast food service on curry club Thursday (make of that what you will).
P. B. (.
From the outside the pub looks deceptively bland. Inside though, its pretty cosy, sofas to chill out on, plenty of room and of course Wetherspoons prices.
Free wifi and they show the football. Attracts a youngish crowd from the nearby student village.
P. V.
Very good pub and service 😉👍🏻
J.
Stopped for a drink one Saturday afternoon. Ordered via app, service was quick as place wasn't busy. A stone throw from the Tower of London.
I. D.
Has a vegan menu in the corner but apparently doesn’t sell any of the advertised food.....
G. M. S.
Standard Spoons! Could've used some work with the Indian food though. The waiters were doing all they can to work with lots of clients but I can't help feeling like they were understaffed.
P. S.
It's a nice place, the food is nice. Sometimes is not easy get some help from the very busy staff. They are nice and helpful but always on the run
J. C.
Pretty standard 'Spoons, same menu and drinks as anywhere. Busy on weekday lunchtimes but service is fast enough that it doesn't matter so much.
W. B.
The Wetherspoon app didn't seem to be updated with the beer available at the bar, e.g. London Pride wasn't listed in the app, but it was at the bar.
R. M.
Usual great Wetherspoon's range of food and drink at affordable prices.
d. t.
Weatherspoons next to one of londons best hotels. The legendary spoons breakfast makes a bit of a joke of the nearby hotel prices. Good ales always on sale
J. D.
Effective and happy staff. Noisy crowd outside, but not sweary. Poor London Pride beer.
V. V.
It's ok. An after work pub. Good if you work nearby. Toilets are ok, ok'ish variety of drinks, prices are ok.... One word - WETHERSPOONS
A. T.
Fast service, delicious food and good beer
E. C.
Alright pub but there's plenty that are much nicer
E. B.
Fairly typical Wetherspoons within easy reach of a few hotels. Nothing special, just good value food and drink for a midweek meal after work.
N. P.
Of you Rand good tasty food at very good prices, Goodman's Field is the place to go. It's always being full shoes how reliable they are for great, affordable family food and drinks.
J. B.
Great service, friendly staff. Good food.
P. Q.
Good pub
I. R.
For once its nice to see a fresh and airy JDW. Staying for three nights locally and happy to frequent the establishment for breakfast and light tea, friendly staff good service and not forgetting the cost of dining for the area.
H. H.
Good deals on Tues "Steak Night". Portion size is enough for 2! Tends to attract pensioners and working class crowd at this location. Not too busy on a weekday night.
G. L.
It's a Weatherspoons pub. Good selection of drinks. Nicely furnished but if you are looking for something more traditional go someplace else
A. M.
The best pub in central London. Don't let Wetherspoons reputation put you off - this place is clean, friendly, and astonishingly cheap for central London.
N. G.
Usual Wetherspoon - spacious, busy, burgers, fish n chips, etc, available for reasonable prices. All quite edible and decent portions . . . A regular quick-bite and beer spot!
S. N.
Good pub, good staff, good everything. I visited 5 times in one week, and when I go back to London, guest where I'll be going again.
The staff looked after me a treat, "Thanks Guys".
G. W.
Good service and well looked after.
C. S.
Nice place. Close to lots of things
b. u.
Ok pub food, so so range of beers, friendly staff. Good location.
M. K.
Huge pub. Near Tower Hill but not too busy. Very fast service. You don't need to wait for food long.
R. M.
busy but good service nice food.
P. B.
Had breakfast here after staying in the city the night before surprisingly busy for the time of day, good food pleasant staff
M. H.
Great food and especially good "Hooch."
M. H.
New York Deli Burger was nice. Acoustics in the pub is terrible and a little bit like an old 70s club house, where the lights could do with being turned down.
E. W.
A bit run down but food ok
S. 8.
Great place to drink will say a G&T is £5 so prices are the same as anywhere in the area. Cidres are between £4-£5 depending on what you get.
T. S.
Great variety of food and very quick to deliver. Great for more casual occassions. Some of the tables were not tightened properly, not that fun to eat on a wobbly table.
H. L.
Typical weatherspoons. Cheap for London and good value. Food is not cordon bleu but certainly very pleasant and filling
J. C.
Large spoons near Tower Hill. Plenty of seating normal selection. Serves food all day so makes for a good breakfast at low price.
B. C.
Really nice, clean, modern pub. Great breakfast at a fantastic price. Quirky toilets!
C. K.
Lovely people.
Generous portions of food ...
Friend had Fish and Chips that surprised her palate.
My American style hamburger was perfectly cooked and delicious, though not up to my drippingly juicy favorite In 'n Out Double-Double.
D. M.
Busy and lively pub. Everything you would expect from an weatherspoons. Newly renovated so USB power sockets for phone and laptop charging.
a. n.
you just can't go wrong with a wetherspoons. great value food and drinks . right across the road from travel lodge tower Hill.
S.
For a wetherspoons it's the best as a family and my children's friends I've had to experience food wise! Been to a few too.
B. L. (. C.
Lovely cheap nonitos, well worth a visit!
A. R.
Lovely place, cheap drinks, relatively fast service (sometimes they get very busy but you can't help that)...
M. W.
Lovely staff great location.
C. K.
Nice setting, comfortable, tasty bar food, HUGE beer menu. I like the Doom Bar pie, my wife came back for the fish and chips.
B. F.
Very nice pub good selection of ales and lagers good seating outside and great food especially the fish and chips on Friday only let down is the prices on drinks and food compared to other weathersooons apart from that a good pub.
V. B.
A great place for a nice meal at a competitive price, especially when in London. Have been before when visiting London and will definitely be going back.
C. D. M.
Perfect place, good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Includes also a family area which I have very much appreciated
A. B.
Slow service to start with but got better after they realised we didn't have the app or the connectivity to download it
S. M.
Cheap and filling food. Good quality. Great beer selection and friendly staff. Loads of seating too!
D. B.
Nice pub and great staff. Good selection of beers.
M. C.
It's a Wetherspoons. If you've been to a Wetherspoons before, you'll know what to expect. The beer is always cheap, with a wide selection, but I seem to find the end of the barrel here more than other places.
L. M.
Spacious, cosy, good food. Service is kind and nice. Open to options outside the exact menu. Good selection of beers.
H. B.
Nice place to have a meal quickly, cheap prices and good service!!
A. T.
Its an incredibly busy wetherspoons but in London is really good value for money, for food and drink
J. C.
It's a Weatherspoons. But in addition to that, it was overcrowded and their credit card machine was broken. But they didn't tell you that until after you had ordered and them you were directed to go across the street to an ATM before carrying on.
S. M.
Great drinks, prompt service.
C. G.
A good spoons in the middle of central London. Friendly staff and surprisingly good selection of real ale on tap and lots of craft in the fridge.
S. P.
We love this pub. We stay round the corner every time we visit London. The food is lovely we especially like the breakfasts!!!
K. H.
A Wetherspoons in the City with great prices.. What's not to like? Good Service too.
R. S.
Nice atmosphere plenty of seating
I. B. (.
They ran out of fish on that visit, also the curry sauce was a strange consistency, everything else was great though.
D. B.
Very good atmosphere, very clean and extremely friendly and helpful staff! Definitely a place that I enjoyed coming to whilst I was there.
C. D.
Good drinks and food available Good price
J. M.
Friendly service, cheap prices and a good selection. The food isn't gourmet but is decent enough and exactly what you expect for the price.
P. I.
Usual Wetherspoon experience, but quieter than I expected on a lunchtime. Good, quick service at the bar and for food order.
M. M.
Better than your average Wetherspoons - especially the food, as they seem to have a chef that cares about production and presentation.
A. C.
One of the nicer Weatherspoon's in London. Food is always quick and good quality and great variety of drinks.
S. E.
States on the tin weatherspoons, good staff which are worth their weight in gold, shame they have to work for Mr Martin
D. W.
The archetypicail wetherspoons ; good food, great beers, excellent prices for both and really friendly service. Definitely recommend 👍
p.
Good food , cheap, excellent beers , friendly staff.
S. B.
Good food and drink.
I.
Great, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money with both drink and food. Can't fault it!
D. N. B.
Nice food, great variety of beers, lovely staff, I keep going back every time I get the chance. 👌👌👌👏👏👏👍👍👍
C. H.
Very good prices, Large inside and outside, bar waits always look like they'll be a while as usually busy but they are surprisingly fast. For the pricest you can't really find a better place
K. L.
Never disappointed with a wetherspoons
J. K.
Excellant food and bar staff friendly and helpful we will be back onik bar man very helpful came back a month later what a change food cold had to be replaced come back onik to sort them out
j. e.
This pub is OK when we go to London we use it as our local .Good meals well in our budget
K. S.
Very big pub in the City. Nice place - didn't eat there though so can't rate that.
A. B.
Excellent service, will be coming again
M. S.
The soup was terrible! But hey it's a whetherspoons--pretty typical fare on offer. Attracts more tourists from the Tower of London!
D. M.
Your average Weatherspoons. Attracts tourists from Tower Bridge and some office (construction) workers so you always find a varied selection of clientele.
K. K.
As working close by, I've been eating lunch here for a while. The service is good, fast, and the price is reasonable (especially for central London).
Y. H.
Very friendly helpful staff.
S. K.
Great place and good value
M. C.
Slow slow slow, die of starvation waiting for breakfast
A. S.
Was craving for fish and chips, unfortunately for “technical reason” they did not have anything except jacket potatoes!
R. S.
Good clean basic and staff care and try
S. C.
Quite a regular in this location with varied menu and good selection of drinks both alcoholic and soft types available.
i.
Refurbished last year with a split level dining area on the street side, top providers as always!
C. d. T.
Typical chain pub with good food and drinks special offers. Steak was really good.
N. O.
It's wetherspoons... Much like any other one
