Really lovely rooftop terrace! Great place for a drink in lovely weather! Also been here after dark and was really pretty and romantic! Have yet to try a cocktail here but definitely on my to do list as they look amazing!

Always have such a great time here - the staff are always friendly and accommodating. I've had birthday drinks and recently booked the terrace and upstairs bar for a party the day after our wedding.
The kind of place you can relax and chill out - lots of food and drink options and not expensive.

Bar was recently renovated under new ownership. Absolute fantastic selection of craft beer at reasonable price points.
Food has a limited selection but all are exceptionally well prepared. Also offers Sunday Roast.

I tried the Grand Union today. I found service on the ground floor bar very slow, inattentive and disorganised despite having quite a few members of staff on in the bar.
Food was warm, but could have been hotter.
The overall atmosphere was quite relaxing and comfortable away from the bar area. It was quite cool as there where other groups coming in and out of the bar to the outdoor seating.
I think if your going to enjoy this venue you need to dressed warmly and allow time for slow service. Otherwise it could be a great venue.

A real gem of a pub, right next to the Imperial War Museum. The decor might make you feel like you are visiting an eccentric uncle, but that's all part of Grand Union's charm. On warm summer days, there are few better places to be that up on their rooftop terrace. Undoubtedly one of the best pubs south of the river.

It's not the Grand Union any more. It's reverted to its original name - The Tankard - and is part of the Draft House chain. I went for lunch this week, it was pretty standard but decent pub food, and the range of beers is excellent, including a pint of Bristol Beer Factory Nova on cask for £2.70.

As others have said, now changed owners. Very quick service, I had an excellent chicken schnitzel, and the view from the rooftop is magnificent. Reasonable selection of beers.

Great pub with a fantastic beer garden roof terrace thing. Very cool to chill after a visit to the IWM or after chilling in the park. Food was ok, burgers were a bit on the small side but everything else was great.

The burgers here are incredible had a full loaded burger and it was huge and delicious! The cocktails although not as diverse as you find elsewhere we're perfectly made and had some good recommendations from the bar girl.

Been here quite a few times now and am never disappointed. The highlight being the outdoor space upstairs. The food and drink on offer is also very good. Has a nice local venue feel to it

Fun quirky and interesting! For london, not to expensive, 2 for £10 cocktails at happy hour is worth it. Never to crowded or uncomfortable, very friendly bar staff.
Awesome Enjoyable little secret jem in london!

A nice place for a drink in the summer. Lovely roof terrace right opposite the grounds of the Imperial War Museum. Tasty food, but big prices. Lots of deals going.

Really nice pub with interesting decoration and a lovely rooftop terrace. Didn't try the food, but the cocktails are really good (specially when you get the right bartender!).

Half price for students, which was quite nice. The drinks there were fairly good, and the hash, potatoes, chips, and burger were all amazing. Very good restaurant for the price I paid,

Nice place with potential, however my pint of Estrella lacked any sort of gas, and was rather quite unpleasant to drink.
Great location with good view off the terrace on the other hand.

Lovely rooftop terrace for al fresco drinking. Service was a little slow but I suppose you could say it adds to the easygoing lazy summer atmosphere :-)

Lovely place, good food and friendly staff. The Guinness however was the worst I've had in a long time.

Used to be most coziest, nicest and prettiest little pub in the area. It's not there anymore... RIP and in our memories Grand Union!

This bar reminds me of a student union bar. The smell of grease is everywhere. Doesn't have that intimate charm that many other pubs in the area have.

Was desperate for food as it was getting close to midnight-ish. Fast & not overly expensive, pizza was amazing too! Would highly recommend!
