Nice pub near Wimbledon train station! We had a table booked after a matinee show at the theatre and I'm glad we booked as it was very busy! Someone was sat at the table we had reserved but one of the team asked them to move and then cleaned the table for us before we sat down. We had 2 burgers and a lasagne and everyone enjoyed their food. Would definitely recommend and will return next time we're in Wimbledon.

I love this pub! Having lived in Wimbledon for nearly 6 years, this is my local and the staff are always super friendly and welcoming (and the service is always second to none)! The atmosphere is always very warm and the team here are always a delight to see and speak to. Marta, Jerome, James and Ben from the team are all amazing guys and an absolute credit to the company. Even on the worst of days, they always give you a reason to laugh or smile and I can’t thank them enough. A great pub, with great people! … What more could you want ?!

I came here for a birthday celebration with my family after a recommendation from a friend. We were a party of 16 and from the moment we entered the establishment we were greeted and made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere was warm, vibrant and welcoming. The tables were very clean and the decor is warm and relaxing. The staff members were very prompt to take our orders and served us quickly despite the fact that they were very busy. Upon perusal of the menu we couldn't resist but to order from the menu as it was so appealing. The food came out very quickly, and was cooked to perfection and once we had eaten our tables were promptly cleaned. In summary great food, great service and an excellent atmosphere. I now frequent regularly and would highly recommend this pub to anyone. The management here are doing a fantastic job and deserve recognition.

Great place! Went in for a drink during my stay in London and was very pleasantly surprised by the great beer selection, amazing atmosphere and reasonable prices (especially for London!!) I had an amazing Sunday roast, chicken and yorkshires where cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef. I was greeted and served with a warm smile from Marta. She was very friendly, upbeat and made us feel very welcomed, suggested us the Sunday roast and was knowledgable regarding the menu. The pub had a nice Christmas atmosphere and is very cozy, thank you!

I love the Hand & Racquet. The big fish and chips is a nice (occasional, if my wife is reading) treat, the atmosphere is great and the bar staff are really friendly - Joanne behind the bar even put me on to taking my kids to see Chelsea Ladies at Kingstonians, which was awesome.

Great pub. Excellent selection of beers and impressive selection of gin. Service is both friendly and professional and the place is cosy and attracts a friendly upmarket crowd. Didn't get to try the food but there is an extensive food menu with all the classic pub dishes all reasonably priced. This is my view is the best pub in Wimbledon.

Lovely ambience upon entry, met with a smile. The music was a good volume (you could hear the music and still chat) nice chill music too, which is lovely. Ordered the big fish and chips which was amazing! Large chips like chipped fluffy roast potatoes, but still holding enough chip(iness) to satisfy my crip craving. Table ordered "graze for days" which is three grazing plates which included Dirty fries, chicken wings and beef burger sliders. All of which were equally amazing as the fish and chips. An easy 5 star and will be returning at some point later.

A great pub with friendly, knowledgable staff. I was worried about coming out for drinks due to the Corona Virus but the Hand and Racquet have pulled out all the stops to make you feel at ease. The pub is clean and the food is excellent and at a reasonable price. With a great location at the heart of Wimbledon, I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for a welcoming, warm environment to enjoy a pint or a meal.

I like this pub a lot and love their drink the Abbot Ale! I think the food could be a little better cooked and that with a slightly better layout it could have more chairs and be a little more cosy (in the middle anyway), but still a good place to visit and certainly if you don't like big crowds as most people seem to pack themselves in to the other places nearby.

Amazing, came here for lunch 2 days in a row following a walk around Wimbledon Common. A significant variety of cakes baked exceptionally well. Small choices in freshly mad baguettes, which is made up however by the taste and use of fresh bread. Coffee is second to none, strong but balanced. Nice setting as well, very clean.

Reasonable pub in the heart of Wimbledon. Have always found the staff to be friendly and reasonably good food served. Inside is quite pleasant and seems to be quite popular with the locals as it's always busy. For me a nice boozer, but nothing to write home about. For something a little better, try The Alexandra just a few meters away.

Went in for a roast dinner. It seems like a really nice family pub (at least on a Sunday afternoon) with a good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks (for the area at least). Me and my family came here for Christmas dinner on the 25th December, a bit hesitant having never done anything like this before. What can I say, we were absolutely blown away! Having pre-ordered, the food was delivered when requested and everything ran seamlessly. Even though it was Christmas day, the pub had just the right amount of people in it, nothing too rowdy and nothing to desolate. The food was delicious and restaurant level quality; no pub grub here! The staff were also very attentive and helpful, all smiles even though they were working Christmas day! I will definitely come here again and would recommend!

I've been to this pub a couple of times now and always found the service very good, including during last year's World Cup when it was rammed. Where is falls down is the quality of the food, Sunday roast wasn't great, and I'd question the price of beer at a pub in zone 3 - £5.95 a pint of Camden Hells didn't go down well. If they can sort this out, I'd go there more often.

I really like that pub. Less crowded and not as posh as the other neighbouring pubs, comfortable, friendly staff, and they quite often have a few nice beers (not just 2-3 big brands). Prices are really decent for the neighbourhood too. Food is good, burgers especially are nice. A good little pub.

Nice place the drinks are nice and food is very good. Sundays the roasts sellout fast leaving only more expensive options. The atmosphere is missing it's like a cafe that sells drinks everyone is fairly quiet and only stay for a short time.

Newly refurbished with subdued lighting making for a more relaxed atmosphere. Features a good selection of ales and bitters although lager drinkers might feel a little left out. The food menu is extensive and does a very good after work trade. Very good all-round.

Great location and pleasant decor. A popular place and gets very crowded and noisy at peak hours. It has good selection of drinks and the prices are reasonable. We have been going there for years but never tried the food so I can't comment on the quality or variety of food.

TERRIBLE FOOD with BAD SERVICE when 4 of us went recently. The food used to be good, but not anymore. Everything was completely overly fried, burgers were served with burnt bread, fish sandwiches had lots of bones.
