Reviews of Hippo Inns
M. T.Stopped in here for a quick drink but would of stayed longer if we didn't already have dinner plans. The pub was full, so one of the managers gave us a seat in the restaurant part to enjoy our drink. Atmosphere was really relaxed and the service was really good. Definitely go back for a meal next time.
A. H.Great medium sized pub right in center of Waterloo. Plenty of outdoor seating, with heating. So you won't get chilly outside during winter. Which is a bonus, as I love sitting outside, come rain or shine. :) Amazing table (via app) and bar service. Friendly and helpful staff. Will return.
A. B..We were very lucky to be able to have our work Xmas party here before it became really dodgy to have whole teams of people gathering in confined spaces! That said, the team went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and able to enjoy our evening as safely as possible.
However, as a vegetarian, the biggest happy surprise was the food. Over-priced, barely edible fixed-price menus are my Xmas nightmare. There was none of that here. For the very first time in my life - no exaggeration - I enjoyed every course of the vegetarian menu. The portion sizes were also really manageable so I was able to eat almost every mouthful without having to endure being uncomfortably full afterwards.
Overall, great service, great food, good value for money.
M. M.Coming out of the pandemic hasn't been easy for pubs in Central London. The staff in this establishment are working hard to make this a friendly and welcoming place and largely succeeding. We visited twice on the same working Wednesday in October; lunchtime and an amazingly packed early evening. They deserve their success.
