Quite surprised with wine quality and selection! That alone is worth going back for. Most of the dishes were really nice The lamb was quite average :/ The crumble ice cream was a heart breaker!! Enjoy 👋

We had a lovely lunch date here and exceptional service from Trent and Rishaun who brought charisma, knowledge and care to our afternoon. It's 4 stars and not 5 stars as we found that the food was tasty but lacking in some places (the pork belly roast had oily vegetables and watery gravy, in addition the fudge was a bit lackluster). Our favourite was the camembert!

Good food and wine selection. Knowledgeable staff. Could be more appropriately renamed 'The Expensive Grape' They should have two prices, one for ordering wine to take away and another for dining in. Takeaway prices are essentially restaurant prices. Plus the wines advertised online are not available as website is not updated regularly. Glad to have a wine bar like Humble Grape on our street though.

What a glorious, pared back and knowledgeable spot. The staff here are funny, clever and completely unpretentious. A refreshing change in a sometimes over-gentrified area. This is a spot that’s accessible to anyone interested in wine, and also perfect for a quiet and gentle candlelit wine. Or even small bites. A place I will undoubtedly return to. Special shout outs to Sean and Rashaun, who really know how to work it.

Fantastic food and wine! Attended here with friends and was pleasantly surprised with the quality on offer. Lamb shoulder and Pork Belly starters both absolutely perfect and would definitely recommend those dishes. The overall restaurant/wine bar setting is definitely more accustomed to a couple or a small group of friends than large groups but felt we were treated and served quickly and with minimal fuss! Top noshing!

So very welcoming, I'm just really glad I popped in. I'm not sure the name of the assistant who served me but she couldn't have been more accommodating. She recommended the attached bottle of red. Incredibly knowledgeable. Sublime. And I will be returning. Let's do our best to support these local businesses, it really is important during these times. Went to Angel's Humble Grape soft opening, and can't be more impressed. Service was good, friendly and professional with a brief explanation on the wines and the availability they have etc. Food wise they have good selection of small and medium plates with nice portions. Mains were reasonable for the price tag. Food was very tasty so glad they open in Angel area!

We had an amazing experience at the Humble Grape, thanks to Rashaun, who was our server! My partner and I stumbled upon the Humble Grape while exploring Islington. I had actually read about this place in a guidebook and we decided to pop in. Though we did not have a reservation, we were seated. We are COVID conscious, so were given a table in an area where we could be distanced from other customers. We were immediately surprised with a couple of drinks on the house, which was a really nice gesture. Rashaun then guided us through the extensive wine menu. We ordered a wine flight as well as a few glasses of wine to share on his recommendations. Rashaun listened to our preferences for wine profiles and encouraged us to try wines we normally would not lean towards - we usually only drink red wine, but thanks to his recommendations we discovered several options that we never would have chosen but absolutely loved. Special highlights included a decadently delicious dessert wine, a smoky rose, and a couple of velvety rich reds. Every single wine we tried was phenomenal, with a unique and rich profile. My partner and I are from California, and have been lucky to live and travel all over the world, so we are a little spoiled when it comes to wine - and I can honestly say I had some of the best wines I've ever tasted last night. In my opinion, this is the BEST place to visit in London if you want great wine and amazing service at a great price. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful little wine bar situated just away from the hustle and bustle of the Islington high street. I was lucky enough to go in when it was fairly quiet, which allowed me to have some great conversations with the staff. Both Natalia and Annie were extremely knowledgeable and had some wonderful suggestions for wines to taste. The decor and music are complementary to the atmosphere. A lovely little oasis of calm.

Very nice restaurant. Great food and super cute venue. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The wine is delicious. Everything is kept super clean and you can scan the venue check in for the NHS. Regarding the current situation, some tables could have used some more space in between them. Regarding the mask rule, I know it is really uncomfortable to wear masks non stop and it is way nicer to see smiles, but due to current situation, I would have felt more comfortable if everyone of the staff would have worn a normal mouth-nose covering instead clear face masks which are quite distanced from the face with an opening upwards.

Fantastic local wine shop and restaurant. Can highly recommend the baked eggs shown here. They also do bottomless brunch and there’s outdoor seating when we’re lucky enough for nice weather. Can’t wait to come back!

We did a virtual wine tasting for my lockdown birthday. Desiree was our host. It was amazing!!! I initially didn't like the idea of a zoom tasting but ended up having the best time (and there is something very comfortable about a wine tasting from your own living room). It was really interactive and given it was a private tasting just for us we got a lot more attention than you would at a typical in-person tasting. Desiree really challenged us to give our point of view on the tasting notes which I loved and have not experienced before in larger in-person tasting events. In many ways I preferred this way to doing it in person. Everything is also beautifully presented and Desiree is a wizard at wine, so it's very educational. If you're thinking about it - do it! I could not recommend the experience highly enough. Thanks Humble Grape!

On the whole, the staff are lovely and chilled. Very flexible, however, there weren't any mocktail options and the best they could offer me was juice. There are many non alcoholic versions of wine, prosecco (nosecco), cider and beer but they literally had one option. Food was really nice although the sharing boards had items missing.. worth noting that the menu on the website isn't the same as what's in the restaurant. One of the waiters was wearing a face sheild that covered his mouth and barely his nose. The condensation/wetness on it was extremely off putting and in these times, his manager or colleague should have pulled him aside and suggested a different option.

Since my daughter and son-in-law live in Islington and I live in USA, I was a bit perplexed as to how to get them a Christmas gift. My kids had often said they really liked this wine store, so I sent The Humble Grape an email asking how to go about it. I was pleasantly surprised when the owner himself and Chanel answered my questions almost immediately. Katya also picked up my questions and answered them all.They made me feel like they treat everyone as specially as they treated me. Their professionalism and kindness made me give them 5 stars. Each one was amazingly helpful. Imagine my joy when I found out they personally delivered the gift to my kids flat!! They went out of their way to help me and make our holiday special.This is one shop I plan on visiting when I come across the pond!

Sunday roast review - food: okay. Price: not okay. Veg / roasties evidently reheated which is fine for a sub £15 roast but this roast was £22! The gravy a red win jus / reduction - does not go with chicken that I can tell you. The beef was nice and the portions large. Would not go again

Its an aesthetically nice place. I went for brunch so no opinion about the wines. I had the veggie breakfast and I was mostly disappointed about it. First of all the avocado was not ripe enough, I had difficulty cutting it. The eggs were not runny as they should and the halloumi was deep fried and so so greasy. The beans and mushroom were good and I was happy about the portion

I was torn at giving two stars but that would seem a little unfair. Let's start with the good- the wine we had was very good and I thought the selection was really well presented and very good value. And for a wine bar, I'd expect decent wine. However, we didn't feel very welcomed, we waited ages for a table (unusual given only two or three tables had people at them). We weren't offered water despite other tables having glasses. When we ordered some nibbles we weren't brought napkins and the oil with the bread and oil came in a thimble sized portion.

This neighbourhood wine bar offers excellent wines, tasty food, and a mindful service in a relaxed environment (our table was in the middle of the wine racks). Nice new addition to the neighborhood, their third outlet in London. This wine bar serves excellent wines, around 30 by the glass and over 300 by the bottles. Food is very decent too, great sharing plates, cheese & charcutery and some modern British dishes with fish, meat or vegetarian. Very friendly staff. Pricey but not not excessive. We will be back. Oh and obviously you can also buy bottles to take home - on Mondays they sell them at retail prices!

Had a wonderful dinner at the humble grape for my boyfriends birthday. The service was exceptional, really nice and attentive but never pushy. A waiter told us about wines and we chose a bottle out of the shelf and it was amazing. Food was very good too. Had some mussels and a burrata as starter, then Halloumi and Beetroot Hummus as mains - all very tasty although the Hummus lacked a bit of flavor. All in all a perfect experience and we'll definitely be back.

(Translated) We went on Sunday night, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. My wife saw a good review on Trip Advisor and as we liked wine we went there for dinner and enjoyed a nice glass of wine. A simple and cozy place, we arrived early and even without reservation we got a table for two, it gradually filled up and got very crowded. We ordered a French wine, Cote Du ronne, very good and entry we ordered a portion of 6 cheeses and cold, 6 for 20 pounds. Goat's cheese, prosciuto sheep, and a few more delicious ones in a good portion to divide by 2. After that we even ordered the ROASTS, a double dish of pork belly (pork belly) and dry aged beef (simply boring). All the food and drink were delicious. Very good indeed. In the end we even ordered a dessert of 3 scoops of ice cream and two glasses of dessert wine. Soon after asking we made a comment in Portuguese and the owner, Carlos (Paulista de Indaiatuba) heard us talking and came to talk to us. Simpatisissimo was talking to us and commented that he has lived in London for 15 years. If the food is drink were already good, imagine finding a Brazilian as owner of the place and too nice, it's even better. As a summary, I highly recommend the place, cozy place, friendly people, good wines, good cheeses, good dishes and a good Brazilian taking care of. Go and you will not regret it, I assure you. Um lugar simples e aconchegante, chegamos cedo e mesmo sem reserva conseguimos uma mesa para dois, aos poucos foi enchendo e ficou bem cheio. Pedimos um vinho francês, Cote Du ronne, muito bom e de entrada pedimos uma porção de 6 queijos e frios, 6 por 20 libras. Depois disso ainda pedimos os ROASTS, um prato duplo de pork belly (barriga de porco) e dry aged beef (vlcarne maturada) simplesmente deliciosos. Toda a comida e bebida estavam deliciosos. Bem bom mesmo. No final ainda pedimos uma sobremesa de 3 bolas de sorvete e duas taças de vinho de sobremesa. Logo após pedirmos fizemos um comentário em português e o dono, Carlos (Paulista de Indaiatuba) nos ouviu conversar e veio falar com a gente. Simpatisissimo ficou conversando com a gente e comentou que mora há 15 anos em Londres. Se a comida é bebida já estavam boas, imagina encontrando um brasileiro como dono do lugar e simpático demais, ficou melhor ainda. Como resumo, recomendo demais o lugar, lugar aconchegante, gente simpática, bons vinhos, bons queijos, bons pratos e um bom brasileiro tomando conta. Vá e vc não vai se arrepender, eu garanto. Abs
