J. Y.My first visit ever being local, staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there or sell anything. :-(
Food: Maybe I chose wrong but the Three Cheese sandwich to (go) was lacking! Tastes like 1.5 cheeses and just generally bland.
It was definitely just cheese, sandwiched, I would wonder if it could be more fun, like a house chilli jam or something to season.
Even just fresh bread and fresh-ish cheese… can be boring if they are both mild. 🤷
Black coffee was balanced and enjoyable but not memorable.
Interested to try sitting in though, if they don’t hate me for picking a boring sandwich and then saying it was boring lol.

A. R.HWK Bar went out of their way to accommodate us on the spot on a busy Saturday night during a torrential down pour! We had no booking and there was seven of us looking for a bar to dry off at. They welcomed us in to a cute spot in the corner which was perfectly lovely and attentive lovely bar staff to follow. The decor was splendid too with cute fairy lights and funky disco balls on the ceiling. Happily go back again!
M. M.HWK has so much great stuff on offer and is being further expanded with a terrace space opening in 2021.
We spent a great evening out in the courtyard restaurant, excellent drink and tasty food served in a fun, buzzy courtyard (heat lamps kept us warm in early December). We had vegan sausage sliders - do not miss these - and some other delicious snacks.
There is a bar adjacent to the restaurant and a large outdoor yard for music drinks and food next to that. Plus adaytime coffee shop.
HWK has everything and is a great place to party when we are free to gather in groups again!!

L. T.I booked the courtyard here for my 30th birthday and Rebecca the manager was beyond brilliant. The drinks are great as there is a cute cocktail bar with a great menu, beyond just the usual basics. It's nice and quiet in the day time but gets dancy in the evening. Super laid back and generally a vibe. Also the coffee is VERY good
