Reviews of Le Bar a Vin - Greenwich Wine Bar

I have been a regular at Le Bar à Vin and have even celebrated several of my birthdays there (combined with the Guy Fawkes fireworks). I have to say it seems to have improved significantly. I have been told the French manager was on maternity leave and that it had been taken over by a local couple. Our waitresses, the last few times have been nice, which was a relief. Some managers had been particularly abrupt in the past. I persisted on going because I am French and love the atmosphere with some French music in the background. The Food is French too and similar to what you could find in France. The first floor room has been refurbished and it will be nice to sit there once indoor dining is allowed. A good cosy wine bar in Blackheath.

This is my absolute favourite spot for dinner and drinks (or just drinks!) perfect for datenight or a catch up with girlfriends. Really varied wine list (not just French) which isn't too pricey like most wine bars are. Menu is great, simple classically French food and great range of French cheeses and meats. Lovely atmosphere, really friendly staff and they have a gorgeous function room upstairs!

Great food . Been here before.
Service was somewhat disappointing.
Having to ask again for water and then not being told in advance that the chef goes home early on a Tuesday so no chance of desert really spoilt the end of our experience.
Last time we visited we were served by a young south East Asian guy.
He was truly excellent.
12.5% is really steep especially when you don't pour the wine . This was optional.
The waitress was super friendly but communication is key.

Such a brilliant wine bar which also offers fantastic French cheese and meats with a selection of more substantial French classics. Really good wine and immaculately clean glasses. Really good spot for a date with good atmosphere. Lovely staff too!!!

Great atmosphere with musicians and friendly crowd on a Sunday evening :) I have been living in the area for 12 years and it is the best bar in the area.

Good wine list and food. Reasonable selection by the glass, friendly (though slightly too few) staff and a nice spot to watch the world go by.

Wonderful evening!
Great atmosphere, quality wines, extensive choice of cheeses and very good service.
Under new management and noticeable.
Toilets are the cleanest I’ve seen!
Definitely will be returning.

This place could be amazing! Got a nice wine and cheese selection, and the service is not bad, but attention to detail is what makes a place great, and this place does not really have that. We had a nice time and enjoyed our cheeseboard and our bottle of wine, but the presentation could he soooo much better. It just looks kinda boring.

Really lovely wine bar with delicious nibbles. Really great selection of wines by glass, carafe and bottle. Seemed like the place to be for of an evening in Black Heath. Nibbles include bread and olive oil + balsamic. Three cheese selection for about £12 with a delicious apricot chuternay mm mm delish.
