Reviews of Lord John Russell

Named after a former Prime Minister, serving twice whilst Queen Victoria looked over the country. What went wrong on the second term, only lasted a year? A fine pub with a good selection beers, keenly priced and good to drink, both cask and keg. Plenty of food on offer with lunch for under a tenner. Great value, fine place.

Extremely good value, £4.30 for a pint of bitter in central London a stones throw from Euston & Kings Cross St Pancras stations.
I visited on a late afternoon so it was quiet but service was friendly and prompt.
A good choice of beers, wine and spirits. The kitchen was closed when I visited so can’t comment on their food.
A friendly and relaxing little oasis of calm if you have time to kill before catching a train & want to avoid the bustle of the stations.

I was passing by when outside crowd n atmosphere attracted me a lot. So just pop in for a pint. No doubt an amazing atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Quick service.

The hidden ally beside this sweet pub was the best place to enjoy the fish and chip, drinks, and a nice rest after a hectic day. The five stars is for the service (Caroline was the best), for the food (CELIAC FRIENDLY FISH AND CHIPS EEEP), and the atmosphere. There is also a gluten free dessert woohooo

Such a lovely place! They have gluten free options such as fish and chips and roast dinners even dessert. Celiac friendly
Caroline was so sweet and helpful!
Everything was great

A pub as it should be. No mixology or overpriced craft beers or foodie-ism.
What you get is a clean, welcoming environment with well kept beers, wines and spirits served by people who actually care about what they're doing and the customers they're serving.
I can't understand why a good hand-pulled ale is such a rarity in London so, I'm very pleased I found this pub. I'll be a returning punter for a long time yet!

Nice, no-frills pub. Good prices on pints, small amount of outside seating, some seats in front of pub, others at the side, try to avoid being downwind of smokers in the alleyway seating area if you don't like smokes

Excellent pub. Great atmosphere and wish I want to it sooner after being at the design studio few yrs ago. Great customer service too and quick to serve another pint when ready.

The sort of pub I like with good service, no pretentions and very reasonable prices for London. The customers are also a friendly crowd and most seem to be locals.
