Reviews of Lord Nelson
S. C.
Amazing wild boar burgers. Perfectly seasoned chips. Generous portions. Nice, quirky atmosphere. Definitely one of the best burger places out there! ❤️
H. B.
My favourite local by far. Great NHS and student deal and the atmosphere is cosy but lively. I love seeing the decor every time I go in and I love to bring friends visiting London here too. Food is amazing and good amount of veggie options!
M.
Amazing food, great beers on tap (love the shed head), and loving the disco lights + 90's music! Will be back!
Updated 29 Jan 2022, arrived at 8.40 but sadly told the kitchen could only now do chips, not chips with any toppings or even cheese like pics below. :-(
M. G.
Cool little place with great atmosphere. The burgers here have no business being that good. But they are! Staff are friendly. Prices are right. I’d highly recommend it.
T. H.
You get a uni type vibe from the young people who go in there but that doesn't dampen the amazing atmosphere & awesome decoration that this place has, they serve the most amazing burgers I have ever tasted, so many to choose from as well. The burgers are huge & come with a generous portion of slaw & skin on fries, you WILL NOT need anything else to eat after you have that. The staff were friendly & recommended some lovely ales & ciders to try which went down well, we were recommended to go here by the hotel opposite as the staff there also rated there food....it did not disappoint.
E. P.
Love this pub. Super quirky and a really nice vibe. Great appreciation wall to Noel Edmonds. A bottle of Prosecco is £16 and it wasn’t bad!
B. P.
Small place, busy, friendly and great burgers! Watch out for that home-made hotsauce!
A.
Best burgers and always a place on our list to visit. Amazing choice of food and drinks. Quirky and a bit crazy, but that's why I love it
B. H.
The lord nelson, wow what a place.. the place dreams are made of. South London’s quirkiest yet most attractive pub, full of nonsense, I love it.
M. G.
I used to be a regular, as my office was nearby. After a few years, I can say it kept its character, and it's still serving great food. Burgers are awesome. And you can also enjoy the occasional pun.
j. p.
9 of us just walked in here they made space for us feed us wonderfully and good booze too made all the better by the fun loving staff. never liked anything called Danny Dyer before but they have a burger called the Danny Dyer your choice wild boar or lamb I had the boar as it seemed to go with the name I am now in love with something called a Danny Dyer. try the chef's chili sauce
A. A.
Best burger I've ever had. The menu is only burgers, but they have an incredible variety from beef, chicken, lamb, horse and vegetarian dishes. Warm, hospitable environment, it was also smartly decorated for Halloween with spider webs and pumpkins. They have offered us some tequila shots in the end. Strongly recommended.
A. D.
Great range of beers, awesome burgers including 12 veg / vegan choice and great atmosphere. One of the best pubs I've been to in ages
C. V.
Great place very quirky and the best burger I've ever had and good chips along with everything else on the plate. Friendly staff highly recommend and when next in london we will definitely go back
T. C.
Leave some room for dinner....great portions! Luverly jubberly burgers 😋😀 Fun venue. Accommodating staff...sat 9 of us without a problem tho doubt they can do that often. Popular place. 😃
l. l.
Went In for a quick couple of pints before dinner. Very pleasant staff.
J. P.
THE VERY BEST BURGERS. A small local place with delicious food. The team are accommodating and will cater to anyone's needs. Would reccommed to try their specialist burgers.
V. K.
Very good pub. Famous for its vast list of burgers. Lots of options to try and all so delicious. A good range of beers and possibly the only place left in London that you can get a pint in less than fiver.
J. W.
Fantastic place. Truly memorable atmosphere/decor. Staff excellent. Beer Excellent (real ale and Guinness). AAnd how many burgers are there in this world? However many, they are all sold here! Come and see for yourself!
M. L.
Burger are huge and delicious!!!! Good beer and music too. The decoration is outstanding as is the service!! Top 5
W. f.
I had the danny dyer wild hog burger with a side of their homemade hot sauce and a pint of Guinness. Felt like a proper geez after that feed. Awesome stuff.
S. M.
People working in this place are making it even better then it is. Friendly bouncer and bartenders. Cocktails were delicious. This place is open longer than other places around and offers live DJ so you can dance apart from only sitting down.
Post review note:
Nelson's is a very cool place with also amazing service. Very friendly staff behind the bar and funky, colorful, interesting art 😊 even bathroom was vibing in colours. Good selection of beers 👍🏼🙂 I will definitely be back soon to enjoy the very nice atmosphere, while sipping on the cold, fresh beer 🍻👍🏼🥰
S. P.
If you like a different pub. Over the top but I think it's fantastic.. Burgers and beer..
M. H.
Don't let the slightly strange looking exterior put you off, it's even more eclectic inside! Can't begin to describe the over the top decor, painted walls, posters, stickers ceiling hangers...just go visit to see for yourself. Inside there are also friendly and welcoming bar and kitchen staff and the most incredible burger menu with combinations I've never even thought of never mind tasted. Don't despair if meat not your thing as there are vegan options too and if they taste as good as the beef option I had you will not be disappointed. Sensible prices unlike some so called "Honest" alternatives nearby. Will go out of my way to revisit next time I'm in London.
C. S.
I'm a coeliac and this pub just made me the tastiest chips loaded with cheese and bacon I could possibly have asked for. The toppings went all the way to the bottom of the bowl - delicious. It should be a new section on the menu!
Also, friendly staff and a hilarious interior that has kept us entertained and fun music. Thanks for brightening up our Sunday night!
P. C.
Very eclectic pub with a good beer selection (Holstein vier was especially delicious!) Food portions are as generous as everyone says. Food quality is fine; go with no expectations and you'll leave satisfied. And definitely check out the disco bathroom!
D. G.
Certainly the best burger I've tasted in London. Good atmosphere and friendly staff 👌 cheers
B. S.
Best, messiest and most obscene burgers in London. Not to be confused with all the fancy poncy burger joints, this place is authentic and has been doing this for much longer. This place is a hidden gem that locals don't share carelessly.
T. J.
I’m not sure if it was the eclectic decor, featuring a quirky affection for Noel Edmonds, the humorous dislike for bag thieves, or the discerning taste in indie background music, but after just one visit to my new office’s local, this pub already has a special place in my alternative heart. No faff - just a cool pub.
J. W.
Such a weirdly amazing place. On the outside it looks like a normal pub but step inside and it's an eclectic mix of so many styles that just makes its mental and awesome at the same time. They have a great selection of food, burger's being the speciality.
B. M.
It's sometimes hard to find places in central London that feel like a real local. Well, this is it. Great food, music and staff, nice range of beers, a kind of laid back party atmosphere.
L. j. p.
What an amazing experience! Great variety of ginormous burgers, friendly staff not to mention the fantastic layout of the pub. I love it! Two minutes away from Southwark station on the jubelee line if you ever find yourself around that area you must stop by!!!
P. H.
We love visiting this pub as it's always clean and the drinks selection is good and the staff are friendly, but sometimes all the food selection is not available and the service can be very slow to get the food to the table so sometimes very good and sometimes not really acceptable.

The Lord Nelson
📍243 Union St, London, SE1 0LR
🚇 Southwark
🍺 £4.40 San Miguel
🍔🍟 £9.00 - £16.00
❤️ The Lord Nelson in Southwark is probably the most unconventional looking pub I’ve been to on my travels. It looks like the local youth club for the council block that rises up behind it and based on its looks you may want to give it the swerve. Never judge a book by its cover or so they as this quirky boozer is as friendly and fun as it gets. I popped in with my daughter after visiting The Tate as we wanted to try out the burgers as I’ve heard rave reviews but unfortunately the kitchen was closed 😫. The pubs interior is covered in all manner of colourful images from Borat to the Simpsons to Dolly Parton and Amy Winehouse, this keeps you looking around the place looking for different and familiar faces. Settling aside the decor how does it stack up as a pub? Well it feels good here, the service was friendly and the few punters that were drinking out front were also friendly, so no complaints there. I will have to pop in one evening to see how the place stacks up as a boozer or is it a burger bar selling beer, to be confirmed.
.
All said, this place is definitely worth a visit as it offers something different and doesn’t take itself to seriously.

When you make & sell your own burgers your always wary of other people’s. No worries here, the Geezer, a beautifully succulent wild boar burger perfectly chargrilled topped with cheese & crispy bacon in a nice fresh sesame seeded bun. Served with hand cut chips, perfectly fried and including all the best crunchy little bits and a home made coleslaw. I will give it 9.5 out of ten and only as I am a hard task master and would have liked a little more coleslaw. Full marks on taste, flavours and all served in a lovely and quirky little pub. Packed tables outside which is always a good sign. Thanks guys, awesome food! 👍👍👍
P. M.
Loved this pub. Not sure what I spent more time on, picking which burger to have or looking at the décor
Can't wait to go back
r. b.
Brilliant food burgers 🍔 are one of a kind food manu is great if your a meat lover veggie or vegan staff are always friendly and kind always make you welcome decor is great one place to come and see you would find a few painting that your grandma would have up in the living room and all the others you would have on your bedroom wall back in the 70s and 80s
D. B.
Not my cup of tea, but thats my age. That said good venue If you want something different, i bet you can't name all the celebrities pictures on the features all over the place.
A. H.
Amazing burgers and fries. Full bar. Staff is friendly and quick. Best burger you will find in the area. Quirky atmosphere with fun music.
J. S.
A slightly off the wall place, fun, bright and a good atmosphere. Their burgers are fabulous and very much worth a visit for. They will even do you a horse burger if you want to try one, nothing hidden here. Busy most nights of the week due to being in an office and student area but that makes it lively and gives the atmosphere a bit of a buzz unlike so many other places. Well worth going to if you're on the area.
C. M.
Delicious burgers and amazing music. They have a good selection of beer as well. Nice place to unwind especially on weekdays!
J. G.
Had a great night in there, lovely staff too. Left my bag with my work laptop, my passport and my underpants and they sprinted down union street to the tube to give it back to me. Legends!
b. e.
Nice little bar some wacky decor good out side seating
E.
Nice pub looks small from outside but then is not that small. Good bier and a friendly staff all in all really nice
M. P.
Great atmosphere and was happy to see a Minneapolis classic done well. Whenever I'm missing Minnesota, Lord Nelson will be my place. Recommend to everyone as there will be a burger for everyone's tastes.
R. C.
Cool interior, feeling like an extension of a crazy share house lounge.
Burgers however were a little lacking. Good, but not great...
J. B.
Best burgers in the UK, and dare I say ever. I have eaten a lot of burgers (A LOT) having developed my love at the age of 10 on holiday in Spain, since I have had burgers all over the country and a few places in Europe and The Lord Nelson are without a doubt the best. I go here with my colleagues all the time and they agree (12 men of varying ages and backgrounds) and took my in-laws here a few weeks ago and won them over too.
We even have our Christmas lunches here with work and they are absolutely impeccable.
The pub is shabby-chic, cheap drinks and a bit studenty, the furniture doesn't match and they have a disco ball in the toilets. The staff are friendly and everything is clean.
Honourable mention THOSE CHIPS ❤️
R.
It's a nice quirky spot to enjoy food and bevies. Surrounded by amusing decor that puts a smile on your face each time. I'll be back for sure.
M. P.
The decor is HILARIOUS here, I could walk around all day laughing my tiny baps off at the Noel Edmonds obsessed walls. The staff are friendly and service always comes with a smile. We only had chips this time around but have had their burgers before. The chips are TASTY. very very crisp and they were happy to provide an abundance of sauces for us to taste as we drank way to many neat whiskys. Will 100% go back for visit number 3 soon.
S. Z.
Had an amazing burger here! My big project for 2019 is to work my way through their menu. Really nice and friendly vibe.
J. C.
This monster burger almost killed me! Beef and chicken with chorizo, hash brown, onion rings and bacon all held together in a singld bun. I can only find three words to describe this..... TASTY AF!
A must visit for anyone who hasn't paid this place a visit. Funky decor with oldskool tv theme tunes playing in the background. I seriously enjoyed my visit and will be going back soon!
L. “.
This is an awesome little place with some great drinks and eclectic decor, would definitely visit again when in the area
K. C.
Really good food, especially if you.are vegetarian or vegan . Friendly staff and a quirky interior
A. M.
Very tasty meals and drinks, good and very friendly staff. They have quite many beers and other liquor to choose from as well as a big menu.
R. G.
Good selection of drinks, chilled and friendly staff - wish I'd found this place sooner!
A. W.
Great prices and food. The 'Cartman' Burger was awesome. There are many varieties of burgers so there should be something that suits all. The drinks were fairly cheap. I wouldn't highly recommend a visit!
M. L.
Great burger, helpful and kind service. Nice setting.
b. s.
Lovely pub, amazing urges and friendly staff. Brilliant atmosphere, highly recommend
L. P.
Great pub in a great location. Wierd and wacky interior, not your run of the mill place. Great staff, Freddie is a top bloke and the Asian barmaid just makes me drool, extra stars just for her.
Their burgers are amazing. Pound for pound the best in London.
BBQ in the summer months is the business.
When the kitchen is closed, you can bring your own food, we deliveroo'd some pizzas in and they will even give you plates, cutlery and condiments.....no other place would do that!!!!
A. B.
Exceeding the expectations lol . Nice spacious pub with good set of draught served by friendly staff
J. J.
Great burgers great staff great decor & atmosphere. Also great playlist going. Recommend
S. N.
Good service, great food. Generous portion size. Chunky chips, meaty beef, fresh and delicious.
R. B.
Great atmosphere, staff was great and they serve a proper burger there. Awesome pub!
O. O.
So this is a very quirky pub, very interestingly decorated and has a nice atmosphere. The menu was great, there are very good choices of food, but the burger I had was a bit bland surprisingly.
A. R.
Surprising place. Initially put off by the owner basically replying to any negative review with major snark. Went anyhow as group do. Its GREAT. Food was fab, service was great decor is 'insane', heck.. theres a disco toilet and signed Terry Wogan pics on the wall. Its well worth a visit but it clearly has a certain sense of humour. You need to accept it, you certainly cant rile against it
R. W.
Good burger and fries (chips), but nothing special. Two classic burgers with fries, a soda, and a glass of house wine came to £28.
t. l.
Absolutely loved this place, drinks were well priced, and the portion sizes were enormous. The decor is cool too. The staff were great, really friendly and good craic. My girlfriend left her sunglasses behind on the table after we left and one of the barmaids ran after us in the torrential rain to return them. Will definitely be back and have been telling anybody who will listen to go now.
C. V. M.
Fantastic vibes, hearty and tasty burgers, reasonable prices. What is there not to like?
N. G.
What a great pub!! Food was lovely as were the staff.
D. V.
This unusual little bar seems a bit out of place, but that makes it a bit of an oasis. Especially on a hot day, when the outside area at the Lord Nelson becomes a drawcard. It's not a bad option for enjoying a cold beer in the warm sun.
F. B.
One fine example of a flat roofer. Inside there is a quirky space with art and wall features that could entertain for hours. The staff are superb and are a great laugh. Beers superb and the burgers are topicly fantastic.
Here's a pic of me enjoying the outdoor space
D. C.
The best burger I've had in London! There is a very good choice if you want to eat here, nice place and staff.
I. G.
Lovely staff...lovey pint...and Lovely burgers...5 stars
S. P.
I went to Lord Nelson today for a Christmas lunch and it was great. A huge variety of burgers and lots for vegetarians. The portions are really big. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was great on a Friday lunch time. The burger came with home made chips and coleslaw which were tasty. I’d definitely go here again. The decor is quite quirky which I really liked. For the summer there is outdoor seating.
R. G.
Amazing burgers. Good beers. If you want to get stuffed but still feel tempted to order again, this is a great place. Will definitely come back and will be bringing my Minnesotan friend to compare their Juicy Lucy burgers.
B. D.
Fun, trendy pub in a cool location. Always a friendly atmosphere but nice and low key so ideal for meeting a friend or some after work drinks
T. l.
Great little "dive".
Burgers are fat and filling!
If you want to rediscover the feeling of student bars - this is the place for you :)
G. C.
What a pub. Burgers are amazing, but on Fridays they "just" have chips. But even the chips are incredible, cheesy chips are like Mac&cheese sauce on chips. Oh and did I mention the staff are super lovely? This has become my local, despite the fact it is nowhere near me or any of my friends. Lord Nelson, stay weird ♥️
M. J. R.
Great hamburgers! A bit expensive imho but well worth it.
S. H.
Felt a bit studenty with lots of younger ppl around. A small place with a friendly atmosphere and staff.
J. B.
Great selection of burgers (with some very unusual but delicious combinations) and good priced drinks (especially if you're a student). The place is very casual and can get exceptionally busy with students. I'd recommend booking in advance if you're eating. Overall feels a bit run down but still good fun.
N. B.
Very nice, I came in without a booking and they told me how long I could be there then tried to find me a table when the booking came in. Good people, good drinks and I will go back when I don't have dinner plans as their burgers look good
S. M.
Best burgers in London! I am a very finicky American when it comes to burgers, and I will be recommending this place to everyone. The guys behind the bar were relaxed and really enjoying their customers. Witty banter and good recommendations when trying to choose my burger! 5 of us at the table, we all chose something different and we all swore ours were the best! Seriously the best burgers in London!
E. A.
VERY unique menu! I had the Elvis - peanut butter and bacon; my son The Full Napolen - brie, bacon, grilled onions and garlic mayo. Both burgers were delicious! Fries also quite tasty. The local sauce they provide on the side was very spicy but a great change of pace from ketchup for the fries. My only complaint about the burger is both were cooked well done, so not as juicy as I prefer; otherwise, thick and tasty
A. B.
Finally found a great little bar in London with great staff. Uncomplicated menu amazing burgers. Good music and friendly staff will definitely be back. I have been looking for a place like this for a while in London. Will definitely be back.
M. P.
Quirky Pub, Great Burgers, good value for money.
G. G.
Quirky spot, with quite a student vibe. Nice though, no pretensions. Burgers looked good too.
M. G.
Amazing food. Truly the best burgers in town. The place is wacky and the staff are wackier. I've been a regular for 5 years - it's that good. Try the specials - a different one every two weeks. And they have a couple of quality craft beers on tap.
N.
Fantastic burgers in a quick location. We were just on the way to the tube station and we saw this colourful place standing out of a council flat block. We read reviews online and decided to give it a try. Great burgers. We had the lamb one and the Lord Nelson. Both very good. Juicy and tasty. We are planning to go back several times to try all the other burgers!
J. D.
Very interesting and highly decorated pub. Very popular for weekday work lunches so call when they open to book ahead. Huge portions, interesting menu (try the Elvis if you fancy peanut butter on your burger!). Good fries though quite greasy.
J. B.
Absolutely worth stopping if you live there or just visiting. Not only are the burgers delicious, but I'll keep you fill the entire day.
L. C.
Such a great spot. Been here multiple times and the food is always fabulous. They have great staff who are attentive but not overbearing at all. They're so accommodating and it's also very good for big groups as they will always let you pay separately. Highly recommend to any burger fans.
S. S.
Fantastic burgers and location. With my friend we were just on the way to and we saw this place. We read reviews online and decided to give it a try. Great burgers. We had the lamb one and the Lord Nelson. Both very good. Juicy and tasty. We are planning to go back several times to try all the other burgers!
A. C.
Really fun bar and a great place to end a Friday night or even on the weekdays.
The decor is a very eclectic mix of hilarious and bizarre items and there is even a disco ball in the disabled toilet!
Staff here were so friendly and lovely and the garden outside is very pleasant to sit in on a warm evening.
Their prosecco is great value and is even only £12 a bottle on Fridays which is such a great deal. Tastes pretty decent too even at that price!
D. L.
Best burgers and hot dogs in London and great staff and a quirky vibe to the place highly recommend it
S. P.
Good studenty pub with a small but decent selection of beer. The highlight is undoubtedly the burger menu with something for every taste, veggies and vegans too. Popular and can get busy in the summer, but a good place to grab a pint after work or a burger at lunchtime.
A. G.
Brilliant place for a burger, inexpensive (most dishes between £10-£13), fantastic ambience, great staff and heaps of tasty food. Oh and the beer is good too. Check out the disco toilet and homage to Harlequin. We work just around the corner so when waistlines and diets permit, we're there as our first choice in the area.
I took my 5-year old twins in there one lunchtime and they couldn't have been more welcomed. They loved it as so much to look at. I've also been there one evening on the way home and it had more of a student pub vibe but still really friendly, and beer at £3 per pint.
F. D.
Walking in from a somewhat drab light-industrial neighborhood, you're greeted by a colorful, energetic, and fun restaurant. Went there with my wife and eight year-old kid and we all loved it. Burgers are massive and delicious, as was the sausage sandwich. You will not leave this place hungry. Good selection of adult beverages.
J. J.
I walk by this place often, finally stopped in to try the “best burger in town.” Opted for the bluesy Lucy and was underwhelmed. The chips weren’t fresh, the burger was dry and over cooked, and the bun was stale. If there was bacon on this burger I completely missed it. It was served sauceless and the blue cheese went unnoticed. The coleslaw had potential but came out a little warm. I waited 30 minutes in the trendy surroundings with high expectations and a cold IPA... but walked away less than impressed for a place that has such rave reviews. Worth a stop for a drink if it’s nice outside, but save your £ and treat yourself to one of the standout restaurants in the arches around the corner.... and if anyone would have asked me how my burger was, I would have happily complained :)
A. W.
The atmosphere here is great. The barmaid seemed to have started pouring our drinks before we even ordered them. We came back the next day to try the food and our burgers were perfect. Very cool spot, check it out if you can!
N. M.
Been here twice now and still not convinced. The burger selection is huge and the burgers themselves are massive. I just find that they just need to be refined a bit more. I ordered an Olympic which had a juicy lucy patty but the cheese was not melted in the middle. Would have been great had it been completely melted. You get fries with the meal as well. I find I can never finish the whole thing. If your hungry this is a good place to go. The beer selection is decent.
A. B.
Big portions, friendly staff, student discount and interesting decor and recipes.
m. e.
Great hidden pub. I'd have walked past it but my friends are familiar with London. Highly recommended. Staff were ace. Food was brilliant, one of the best burgers I've ever had.
B. M.
Quirky Decor, Friendly Staff, Reasonably priced drinks and Amazing burgers... What's Not to Love!
I am a big fan of the Friday pub lunch and have spend many of them in this pub.
As a local worker a colleague introduced to this gem, on my first day and I have been in love since. I have raved so much about it I my friends have come to visit and try the cuisine. Not a bad word to say about it!
T. C.
Great place. Always visit for lunch after the Tate Modern. Claim to have the best burgers in London and they have to be close. I live in Australia and come here every time I'm in London.
This trip I had a wild boar burger with cheese, chorizo peppers. Sensational as always.
Small. Quirky. Great friendly service.
J. B.
I don't know what I was expecting, but I didn't expect this. The barman was so friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. My Saturday hangover has never been so easy! Great choice of beer and food at a reasonable price. Oh, and this is best burger I've ever eaten!! No lie. Not kidding. I never joke about food!
Oh, and I hear the Sunday roast is terrific too. I may have to find an excuse to visit Southwark again.... Great pub! Spot on.
M. R.
Good pub. Friendly and polite staff good outdoor area
S. A.
Probably the best burger joint in London. I had the full Napoleon which is a big tasty burgers that doesn't require a knife and fork to eat.
Lots of making fun of cool decor around.
It's worth booking a table otherwise get there early. We visited on a Tuesday early evening and it was full by 7
K. K.
Fun pub with a huge selection of burgers.
C. C.
Very good place. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, which is more than you can say for most pubs in this town. The atmosphere is always vibrant and welcoming as well, as opposed to those dangerous feeling, dimly lit places you usually see attached to ex-council estates. The awesome music they play in here reflects the quirky charm of the interior as well lol. The people that come in are a good mix of students and young professionals, but I've seen families at lunch there in the summer too. I go to the music college down the street, and it's really nice to have a place nearby that has a cool vibe and doesn't feel corporate. I'm a fan of their Juicy Lucy, which is like this massive, cheese-stuffed burger w/ chips. American sized portions. Everything else on the menu looks tasty too. My friend ordered this one once called the Scooby Burger (zoinks!) and it's just ridiculously hench. It really belongs on Man Vs. Food.
D. L.
I'm glad this place is close to my office. The quirky deco is great, the staff is very friendly and they have a HUGE selection of burgers. I'm vegetarian and could choose between tons of different options. The Burgers are really good, come with chips and salad and for the price you get a lot of delicious food and end up leaving very satisfied
J. A.
This pub boldly claims to do the best burgers in London. They certainly have one of the biggest selections of burgers I have ever seen ranging from peanut butter and bacon burgers to horse burgers. Each week they do a special where the meat of an exotic animal is sourced from the nearby borough market. When I went the special was springbok. I decided to be adventurous and try this out. It was nice, tasted unlike anything I have tried before and made a nice change from beef. The sides weren't the best, the thick cut chips were slightly over cooked and dry but whatever this place loses in chip cooking ability it makes up for in uniqueness and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place, particularly for the younger crowd. I wouldn't say it's the best burger I've ever had but it's the best Springbok so if you fancy trying something that's a bit different, check this place out.
K. L.
Far too much food 😎😂
Good atmosphere, going back there!
G. U.
Great vibe, friendly service, very generous portion sizes, great selection of burgers and salads good. Burgers are great for London standards.. Sadly not the juicy burgers we're used to elsewhere though (possibly due to reaction to food regulations here) resulting in dry-ish patties). Also lacking any amazing sauce on burgers. Tomato sauce etc on table for adding.
S. H.
A student kind of pub (student discount), looks a bit bizarre from the outside and has quirky decorations on the inside but really friendly, a good atmosphere and full of character which is great to have in what is becoming a more corporate area. Haven't yet tried the food but will definitely go back so I'll update with a food review when I do. Usually busier in the summer when a BBQ in the beer garden.
B. C.
I rolled my eyes when I saw the "best burgers in London" sign out front, but went in anyway because it looks quirky and fun. I have to admit, though, this was by far the best burger I've had during my trip! They're not lying!
Besides that, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this place.
G. T.
What an amazing gem of a pub! Located superbly close to Waterloo rail and Southwark tube station lies the colourful and friendly place.
Staff are friendly and cheerful, their menu has great burgers to choose from which are richly filled! I noticed many people came here (back) for their great tasting and smelling food.
The road wasn't too busy which makes the ambiance even more relaxing. It's a gem and I highly recommend this
E. M.
Visited again today with three friends and all of us had yet another amazing burger! We sat outside. Fast, friendly service. Was offered more pints just as our first round was finishing - nice. Food: 2 x Napoleon, 1 x Nelson & 1 x lamb something (I forget) with additional topping of beetroot. A unanimous 10/10 all round. Amazing chilli sauce too - careful though coz it’s a slow-burner (top tip: mix it with the mayo). We went to the bar to pay as we were all paying [annoyingly for them I’m sure] separately on contactless but even that was quick, efficient & seemed no bother. Have been coming here for years, never disappointed. Thanks guys, great work, keep it up, don’t change! XX
S. L.
My fave pub in London. Amazing burgers! I intend to try them all. Cool people, cooler decor. Funky as hell. I'm having two minds whether to post this review...it gets busier the more people review it!
M. G.
Lord Nelson is a fun pub. Staff are very friendly and food is extremely satisfying. If you love food and love pub food, then this is a great pub to lunch and dine. The drinks here are good as well as they have a mix of ales and beers. But the highlights for me are the ambience, decor and the food. If you love your burgers and you love quantity (with mid-market quality), then do try the Scooby burger - you will not need to eat for the rest of the day. They do seasonal meat burgers so the menu is never the same. Price is very reasonable. Popular with office goers and students. If you want to go as a group, please make sure you book a table. The decor has an adult theme so not so ideal for kids. But good for teens and older. They do vegetarian options as well.
E. P.
This is probably my favourite pub in London! I adore the goofy decor and the burgers are indeed sooo good! Super portions as well! It's so worth it that I always take friends and family that come to visit London to Lord Nelson!
K. M.
There's an impressive range of burgers here! A great veggie set, too. Big portions and a good beer selection. They have big tables which can be reserved, and they also do Christmas lunch (veggie roast available).
D. S.
Lord nelson is one of the top places to eat a delicious burger. The full nelson is basically the most juiciest burger with tons of other toppings you can get in London. The environment at Lord nelson is far better in Summer than in Winter, I must say. The feel and vibe is unique inside the pub.
M. B.
Great pub, really nice vibe and fairly inexpensive drinks. The staff are super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Also the burger menu is insane especially for a vegetarian - so many veggie options, I think there’s 10! Only thing that is a shame is that there’s no gluten free bun option (it’s simply a no bun situation).
J. G.
Awesome burgers! They are massive and delicious! Very friendly service as well. Highly recommended for going with your coworkers! Also the decoration is a bit peculiar and fun at the same time.
P. S.
Always stop by when in London. Cheap, massive burgers with a vast combination of toppings. Friendly staff and a proper old school dive bar vibe. It's hard to beat. Always busy so book your table.
V. H.
Great burgers, my favourite is the full Napoleon so far. I liked their spicy jerk chicken burger they did as a special also. Beers are ok, wish they did more IPAs though as meantime is not a fave of mine, or I would go more often. Staff are nice and their service is great for a pub.
H. P.
If you like your burgers this is the place for you. The menu has a great range and the portions are big. Add the '70s & '80s décor and it's a good place to meet up with friends. Staff are very friendly too.
L. D.
Fantastic burgers, fully made on site. The burger patties themselves are very generous and awesomely tasty. The beer selection is OK, but the burger more than makes up for the lack of a wide selection of craft beers
J. D. l. P.
A huge amount of food for a reasonable price. The place and the music are very nice. Taste wasn't great though. They didn't ask for the cooking point and my burger was a overcooked. Nice fries, but vey ordinary burger
L. H.
I've spent the best part of the last two years travelling down from Leeds to London for work, staying in various hotels and eating in the local pubs & restaurants around the city. I must say, the Lord Nelson are not lying about having the "best burgers in town". I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food and a great atmosphere in the Waterloo / Southwark area :).
m. p.
Great pub, doesn't look much from the outside but very eclectic and happy vibe inside.
Five Points beer could've been kept a little better but who cares when you get the best collection of pump handles this side of anywhere!
C. R.
It's a great place, with friendly staff, where the decor being quirky is an understatement (for the better). The burger (Juicy Lucy) was delicious, it was cooked perfectly and the cheese was oozingly tasty. Based purely on this, I would definitely be a regular, however the sauce condiments let the whole experience down - I am not sure you can call ketchup with 13% tomatoes, tomato sauce.
L. A.
One of the most characterful pubs in London. Come here for the burgers, which are huge and delicious. The weekly specials frequently feature slightly more exotic meats such as horse and camel, often sourced from Borough Market just down the road, and are usually the best choice on the menu!
R. K.
The place had good food. Burgers were filling and mamamia. Staffs were friendly, had a nice filling, and tasty experience. But we found that the food hygiene rating is 4/5. The place had warning of Theft all around the place. Keep your bags and phone safe.
There we get horse meat. Which is rare in London. We went to the restaurant just for horsemeat. The horsemeat burger was good. Cooked properly. I would recommend this place.
C. C.
Quirky place and interesting however the food was very very unhealthy.
J. G.
Extremely very friendly staff and very welcoming. I ordered a coke and needed as well to make a video call from my phone but I was low in battery. They even tuned the music down upon my request for my urgent video call. They kindly offered me a spare charger as I was low on battery, and I was able to use my phone. I will come back again next time, not for the charger but this time around to have dinner here with friends.
Really friendly staff.Thumbs up!
T. H.
Nice beer and burger selection with friendly staff. Lots of fun decorations and a large amount of customers create a great vibe studenty.
Still they could do with clearing tables a bit more regularly as it can feel a bit grimy at times. This is just a small criticism though all in all great value for money.
J. B.
Quirky boozer that has Brooklyn Lager on tap, amongst other things as well as the biggest selection of burgers that I've ever seen and a laid back, friendly vibe. The decor may not be to everyone's taste but it certainly adds character. Definitely not an upscale place but a good place for a few beers and a bite to eat.
C. G.
The lunch menu here is phenomenal. Try the burger with five eggs, the juicy lucy (with cheese baked into the patty) or its veggie counterpart. The decor inside is quirky and kitsch. It's the most interesting pub in the area by a mile.
t. c.
Interesting decor. One of the nicest burgers (chips good too) I've eaten in a pub and excellent beer 🍻. Extremely popular. Nice friendly staff. Definitely go again.
K. C.
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, fun decor. There is a lot of space to stand outside, the burgers are gigantic for the price. I really like all the things attached to the walls, they all make the place unique.
Me and my friends love this place!
R. L.
If you need brie in a burger, or homemade hot sauce that hurts your face, then London has no idea why you don’t go here all the time. I took a date here a few years ago and it went really well. She presumably died because she stop returning my calls after date 3. I don’t think this was related to the pub. I love the Nelson, it is everything I need from a bar. Also they do amazing vegetarian and vegan burgers.
L. E.
When walking in I thought I had entered into a VERY weird time zone...or the home of one very eclectic horder....but this simply ADDS to the absolutely amazing vibe this place has. The staff are quirky (free range according to the menu) and there is so much to see and talk about (fyi for those awkward dates) lol. This place is highly recommended and the food is freshly made. I had a chicken salad bowl and you could actually taste the chicken, bite by bite. Furthermore, the company I went with had HUGE burgers and they were 100% meaty. Worth the money....and the visit. Just ensure you come with a VERY empty stomach.
A. J.
The Lord Nelson is a very quirky pub decorated in all sorts of memorabilia, art, gadgets and curiosities. It was recommended by friends and last night I tasted one of the best burgers in London. The staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is very friendly. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
A. M.
Live in Newcastle upon Tyne and was taking to a guy who when I mentioned I was coming to london and staying in Waterloo he said he grew up around there. He said I should go for one of the best burgers around at the Lord Nelson. Well here I am after just getting back to hotel after what I can confirm is one of the best burger around. I had the Hawian Aloha burger which was superb. My partner had chicken Hawian aloha burger again superb. Prices are really reasonable and though a quirky interior with loads of posters on the wall they disintegrating. The staff were really nice and friendly as well.
Next time I visit London this will definitely be a place I eat.
Go on give it a try you won't be disappointed.
D. I.
Great funky place with delicious burgers!
J. M.
Cheap and very cheerful London pub. Extremely wide range of burgers. Drinks prices fine for the area and suitably different from all local nearby wine bars. Has a sort of Brighton feel about it
U. G.
Funky little pub, although a bit cramped and loud
N. L.
Only ever been in for drinks but always had a warm welcome from staff. Nice laid back atmosphere.
Worth popping in for a pint even if it is just to take in the unusual decor. Is there any other pub with a Noel Edmunds wall... I doubt it.
R.
Great variety and friendly staff. Good selection of beer and burgers.
P. H.
I love the Lord Nelson. The somewhat unprepossessing 'estate pub' of the council block next door, it would be easy to hurry by.
But inside it's quirky, cool, friendly and fun. Even if it does smell strongly of their signature burgers... watch out though as the kitchen closes just at the point you willpower fails and you order something big and dirty. .. The clientele is a fun mix of local office workers (me included) and students from the next-door accommodation -adding youth and exuberance to leven the post - work slump.
J. H.
Decent selection of drinks, but mainly known for its large array of burgers. Very good quality food and reasonably priced. Location a little miserable, not much in the way of an outdoor area, but the indoors is quirky and cool.
O. S.
Awesome pub, great vibe and fantastic burgers, same prices as your local Wetherspoons which is rare in London. Unlike other bars they actually clean the pipes regularly so the beer is always fresh.
R. H.
Loved this place! Lots of great beer, cool atmosphere, student discounts! There isn't a huge amount of seating inside when it's busy, but lots of benches outside if you want to brave the cold.
J. D.
Burgers are awesome... even if you are a vegetarian. Beer selection could be more divers, but tou'll find something you like. The inside decor is a mind trip. Great place!
H. C. (.
Very big portion and good flavor. Nice staffs as well.
S. W.
Friendly staff. If you have a burger be hungry as they are large plates!
A. Y.
This pub is definitely quirky and has interesting decor to prove it. From the outside, you are lured in to their bar where they have a good variety of ales and draughts. Service during my visit was the only down-point. I had a pint of ale which was not too bad alongside an Elvis burger - a burger with bacon, peanut butter and some jelly. The burger was definitely worth a try and the price was reasonable, so no complaints. They also a giant jenga on the outdoor tables so that ought to be fun as well. A cool pub to catch up. There can be quite a crowd or queue as well, so just take note of that.
C. A.
An absolute favourite. Book ahead if you want food, as the tables fill up fast. A range of huge, imaginative burgers are available. Personal favourite: The Napoleon. A reasonable amount of standing space is available if you just want drinks.
R. B.
One of the chillest bar in the neighborood ! The staff is really nice and friendly.
The student price are really cheap.
The burgers are amazing!
F. P.
Long time I wasn't so positively suprised with the bar. Excellent music, excellent beer. Didn't eat but looks like interesting and tasty menu. The place looks like it has a soul. Definitely recommend.
C. S.
Good food. The place is really weird to be honest and way too loud.
R. W.
Probably the most epic burger menu I have ever seen! So much choice for everyone, even vegetarians and vegans. I opted for the ‘all in whoopsie’ which was so indulgent - a veggie patty injected with melted cheese, a piece of brie, jalapeños, egg, mushroom. Certainly came out feeling really full! Also loved the quirky vibe of this place, just a nice pub at then end of the day to hang out with your mates and play games.
T. H.
Quirky bar stuffed full of character. Superb burgers with generous portions and delicious home made hot sauce! Friendly staff round it off nicely. 10/10 would eat here again.
D. J.
Amazing selection of burgers, from standard burgers to big burgers, beef, chicken, horse. There's plenty to suit your taste. If burgers aren't your thing, turn the menu over for lots of other great food, too.
M. B.
This pub looks a little unlikely from the outside but looks can be deceiving.
This pub is great. The walls are covered in art from famous graffiti artists and an eclectic mix of objects (look out for Cameron and Clegg the squirrels on the bar).
The food is very tasty and comes in large portions. They make some great burgers with a range of different meats. Their Christmas reindeer burger is a must.
Any where that is good enough for The Hoff is good enough for me!
J. D.
A great place to grab a burger, this includes your veggie and vegan friends. Everyone is gadgets for with massive burgers that are full of flavour. The decor also makes this a great place to stop by
H. S.
Cool place, fun decoration and nice staff. Great for drinks!
Vegan options on the menu which is great. The burger was ok.
D. C.
Well y'all know about the burgers - they're ace, so mentioning those won't be news. The service was super friendly and helpful and they keep their ale nicely too. Lots of fun at the Nelson, they just need to work on dessert!!
C. L.
Best burgers in London.Really friendly staff.Great spot.
J. W.
Amazing burgers (both meat and veggie options), good beers on tap, great student discounts, tasteful works of art on the wall which are refreshed regularly ;)
A. S.
This is an amazing place. Expect the unexpected and hopefully see you there soon. The burgers are amazing, even if you're vegan, but it's best if you're not :) :o. And if you're not stupidly hungry, bring a friend to help you.
O. H. (.
Really good food and really great environment
C. M.
Great food, including some burgers you are never going to find anywhere else. Huge portions means it's great for a Friday lunch if you don't have any work to do afterwards.
L. S.
Great burgers, service was fantastic - I was able to order ahead which is ideal for a speedier work lunch. Whole team happy with their food, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth s repeat visit.
L. H.
Brilliantly quirky pub with a great decor I highly recommend you check it out, also very friendly bar staff. However the drinks and food are overpriced and the whole place does feel slightly run down and very very taste specific, if quirk and niche is your kind of thing then this is your kind of bar but for me it just lacked something and perhaps variance on the bar in terms of drinks, which kind of defeats the purpose of a bar.
J. S.
A wonderful hidden treat, conveniently located if you're going to the Tate Modern or anywhere on the South Bank to be honest. I'd recommend you make the effort as this place has wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, a uniquely decorated place, a friendly ambience and a deliciously different menu which caters well for veggies.
When I was there I decided to have a burger as this seems to be the speciality of the house and plumped for a WHOOPSIE LUCY – Lucy’s Veggie Cousin… Vegetarian Goodness Stuffed w/ Cheese. Yes, a burger stuffed with cheese. A savoury doughnut with cheese goodness seeping out.
Naughty but oh so very nice.
O. B.
My favourite pub in London. Great burgers, fair choice of drink for a good price. Great setting. I just wish they had a greater selection of real ale.
D. S.
I ordered the Juicy Lucy burger with jalapenos and it was absolutely delicious! I bit into it to find a pocket of cheese just oozing out. Absolutely top notch burger and worth every penny.
D. M.
The Lord Nelson is a very comfortable and welcoming pub. The staff are friendly and authentically welcoming. They made great drinks recommendations when we asked to try something new.
Free wifi if you harass the staff :)
M. M.
Not your ordinary pub, but in a good way.
I had a very tasty and generous beef burger (unless it was horsemeat?), and a pint of Tetley's. Very nice staff and unusual deco. The Cliff Richard calendar was a nice touch. :-)
P. G.
This is one of my favourite places to eat in London. I took my work colleagues to the Lord Nelson for a celebratory lunch, and they all said it was a great choice. Veggie options too!
A. L.
Quirky pub in SE1. Staff are friendly and the burgers are legendary. I recommend the Elvis unless you have a nut allergy and even then it's so good I'd say give it a go!
G. R.
Crazy decor and a mediocre beer selection make this pub feel very studenty, and there is a good student discount. The food is fantastic and I'll keep coming back for the burgers and the friendly service.
B.
This is an interesting little bar. Nice atmosphere and colourful but busy decor. I didn't eat here but have it on good authority the burgers are good!
R. L.
Lively, friendly 'student type' bar - but non the worse for that! Sadly arrived too late to eat but enjoyed a few pints of "Good Old Boy" Bitter - very acceptable to Midlands tastes.
M. I.
Came just before tier 3, was great, loads of funny things on the walls. Staff were very friendly and have a cheap £4 sausage sandwich and chips
G. A.
The Lord Nelson looks rather uninviting from the outside, stuck next to an estate just off the main Southwark road. But if you decide to skip and head to an All Bar One instead, then I pity your soul for this is a very quirky little bar full of character only a few minutes walk from Waterloo.
The decor and graffiti inside gives it a distinct charm, and you've no idea what odd decoration you'll find yourself looking at next. The food, I'm reliably informed, is very good and there's a nice selection of drinks behind the bar that isn't too pricey by London standards. It's quite a unique little place and well worth a visit if you're in the area.
A. L.
Visited on the back of the reviews on this page on a Wednesday evening. A great fun, young feel to the place, decked out as the most eclectic bar I have had the pleasure of visiting. Particularly liked the kids clocks showing the time zones from Blackpool to Shanklin.
The food & drink are amazingly cheap, £2.50 for a pint of Holsten Vier and a massive selection of burgers all around the £10 mark, I opted for a "Down Under", burger with fried egg, pineapple and beetroot, delicious. One word of warning, last kitchen orders are at 7:30pm.
A must visit, I will be sure to return again...
k. f.
I love this place. Friendly staff, great atmosphere.
I come in with my 3 dogs all the time and they just love the attention.
I have only had the veggie menu but it is sensational food.
Highly recommended
J. B.
Outstanding food, a very rare case where you're genuinely spoilt for choice on the menu rather than whittling it down to two or three things you fancy. Great house beer (Shed Head) and plenty of outdoor seating.
M. M.
Friendly staff with amazing super size burgers. You might have to plan your visit here if you wanna try their food but it's well worthy. #manvsfood
s. f.
Really enjoyed my visit. Nice outdoor area. Burger menu is great. Vegan burger was delicious and very good value for money. Nice bar staff. Will definitely visit again
M. F.
Nice place, attracts plenty of students.
S. B.
There are many things you need to know before your first visit here, oh residents and visitors of London.
Fact the 1st - You will be talked to!! The staff here all seem to have an affliction which leaves them chatty and engaging. DON'T PANIC (words to live by, thank you Mr Douglas), outside of the UK this is called Customer Service, something that is usually expected so do not be afraid to respond. Maybe a comment about the weather??
Fact the 2nd - They have a large menu, but thanks to fact the 1st they will let you take your time to make a decision, maybe even recommend a beverage to drink while you read and make your decision, this is a smart move.
Fact the 3rd - This is a biggy... If you like something in a particular way why not try asking for it? I know that's not the stiff upper lip way but maybe that beer has made you a bit more relaxed? Like your bacon/onions extra crispy? Just try asking for it. Maybe say "Please and Thank You" if you think this might be an imposition.
Fact the 4th - If you are feeling a bit low go sit in the corner and bask in the warmth of Mr Noel Edmond's loving gaze.
Righty oh. Go, eat, drink and be merry.
P. B. '.
This pub has a good selection of beers of which I tried a couple and enjoyed both the food was a carbohydrate heaven for those that were partaking, it did look tasty. The toilets were clean and adequate.
E. B.
Friendly staff, great decor, even better food. Students can drink for £2.80 and their homemade shots are worth checking out. Definitely worth a visit or 10.
A. M.
Great pub with good selection of chips. Fun atmosphere, great prices and amazing bat staff. Or bar staff... which ever you prefer to serve you drinks 😉🤣😂
G. C.
Food was ok but the Bartender was rude.
J. W.
My god what a plate of food.! The burger was more like a joint of meat in a bun. The best burger I've had the best value for money and a great place to visit you really need to go to take in this amazing place. 😁 😁 😁
N. K.
Quirky to say the least.
Decent collection of drinks, the food is reasonably priced and the clientele ranges from students to black tie clad crowd heading out for a more formal occasion.
J. L.
Amazing dirty burgers!
t. s.
Best burgers and atmosphere can get packed so it helps if you an early bird but food orders don't take long either all home cooked very good prices (better for students get discount)
S. P.
One of the best vegan burgers I've had in London. This place is a must for the food, decor, people, and drinks. It's exactly what you'd hope it would be.
D. F.
Had a chicken burger, wife had fish burger: both excellent. Good chips and coleslaw too. Would definitely go again!
G. P.
Cool pub, nice staff
J. W.
Not much to look at from the outside but it's a great place once you're inside. Quirky looks, delicious burgers and nice beers. Good prices too.
S. P.
Brilliant place. Staff are great, decor is as others have said... mental, food is fantastic. Main complaint is that I don't end up in the area often enough to visit regularly
C. J.
Regularly stay at the hotel opposite, first trip to the Lord Nelson this weekend. Wish we'd ventured in before! Great atmosphere, great music, great food, friendly staff. Will definitely be back!
L. B.
Good place for a quality hangout with my company. It is just near the Nelson Square which is a favorite spot for my boyfriend and me. Anyway, the pub is nice, with fast service and large menu with lots of lunch options.
C. L.
A great pub famous for its burgers .
T. T.
Great atmosphere due to the fun decor and friendly staff. Great burgers too!
R. L.
Great vibe in this quirky pub near Southwark station. It claims the title of best burger in London and it may be right. The food is great and the ambience is friendly.
A. T.
I'm delighted to share this great place for it's amazing food, service and pleasent environment. It's one of the best place to visit near Blackfriars bridge. Recommend to visit
D. B.
Arguably the best burger in town. They ain't fibbin.
H. S.
The burgers here are an experience, they're not shy with the serving size and the menu frequently has additions. Combined with friendly staff and fun decor I visit this place often.
K.
Amazing pub but the toilets are atrocious. If you need to poo then save it for later because everyone will watch you as the stall doesn't have a door. Very European.
T. C.
Quite easily some of the best burgers in London. Awesome funky pub with fantastic burgers! I make a habit of visiting every time im in the country
B. R.
Best burger so far. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff. You dont need to improve anything guys, only keep the quality as good as it is.
J. N.
Awesome burgers, great venue, my go to for burgers in southwark!
N. D.
Huge range of burgers with variety of fillings you won't find anywhere else.
Inside the pub is filled with strange collection of eclectic stuff.
Great fun place
T. K.
Burgers night! Not bad, but not great either. Burger came out pretty wet because I think the veg want dried
J. S.
Brilliant homemade burgers. The grand bastardo is delicious and great portion sizes. Staff are super friendly and helpful too
K. B.
Great music and decor 👍🏼
M. P.
Great service. Nice pub and area amazing burgers . 👍
F. C.
The food is delicious and the staff is just amazing, they rock!
M. W.
A bit student'y and crowded. Not really my scene, but I love to see a pub thriving and making money. Seems to have an owner that actually works here and that cares about the business. Another novelty, these days. Might come again.
K. C.
Amazing veggie burgers!
I. K.
Very fancy place!!! The food is very tasty and generous with the portions and as my colleagues said the best burger in London!
A. V.
I have been here with my team on numerous occasions and it has always been excellent.
So many burgers to choose from.
Recommended:
- Full Nelson
- Down under
- Bastardo
- Elvis

Didn't get there in time for any food but it has such a groovy atmosphere. You could stay here for hours just looking at the walls! Nice staff :)
L. S.
Insane selection of burgers and awesome staff!...Oh, I forgot the beers, they are pretty good! The place is always packed, but only because is good.
M. T.
Nice place, with good food and very friendly staff, the decor is unpretentious and just perfect if you want a drink after work to chill out. I would definitely recommend it.
m. r.
I'm becoming somewhat of a regular here. I love the decor, the friendly staff and the student discount drinks! Best pub I've been to in London so far :)
A. S. C.
Food was sooo good but the place is nothing special. We had a dinner with some friends, good service, fast and food was amazing. However the tables were a bit tight and it was a difficult to keep a conversation
M. P.
Amazing Vegi menu. Quirky place.
J. O.
Cheap and friendly staff. However veer garden seating awkward. Not spaced well and no privacy. Food is amazeballs tho. Portions are big enough to share 😀
P. L. R.
One of the brightest pubs in London. This place has a good drinking scene inside and looks fab outdoors too.
C. H.
Good burger, location and vibes. Owners and staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and loves to talk to their customers - how business passion should be
r. m.
Good pub good burgers. Cheap studenty vibe. Very unique. Only downside is they kick you out very promptly and quite kurtly .
C. L.
Hidden gem with a great selection of beers and amazing veggie / vegan burgers. Great for a post / pre Tate treat (not that an excuse is needed).
J. C. F.
Such a quirky lovely place. Decorations are a laugh, memories and whatever else they fancied. Food and beers are quite good.
D. M.
Quite a weird place but friendly staff and very nice burgers. Had one stuffed with bacon and blue cheese... lovely!
O. L.
If you like a fun vibe and are passionaite about Noel Edmonds (as I am) then this is the place for you. Great outdoor seating in the summer too.
E. K.
Amazing burgers go for the Juicy Lucy, cheese inside is unreal
J. B.
Busy with a student vibe. Can get cramped but overall interesting decor and cheap drinks
D. B.
Best burgers in London! good beer, great atmosphere and great staff. Would definitely recommend.
E. S.
The best priced pint in central London. Cool decor and a youthful energy. Staff are friendly and most importantly, quick.
B. H.
Not sure if the burgers really are the best on town but they must be really good contender. Worth the visit just for the burger.
A. G.
I usually go there with my colleagues for Friday lunches. Food is great, staff are friendly and I never get bored trying to find new funny details in crazy posters and notes on the walls.
C. S. W.
Lovely pub, friendly staff, good covid rule following, amazing burgers.
G. F.
Fantastic Beer, Food, Service and atmosphere, a proper pub
V. A.
Great burgers, some time is a bit hard to find a table, and they may take their time serving the food but the wait is worthy
M. B.
Eclectic decorations with eclectic clientele, nice and friendly bar staff. A great place for an after work drink, and a filthy home made burger.
E. M. S.
Really cool place & grrrrreat chips on Fridays !! Was going to take a pic of them but devoured them in 2 seconds. They’re great, trust me.
D. B.
This pub is the best I have been in this month its not good its great staff good decorations fab but do me a favour don't go in there I want it for the people who know about it and me so find your own
J. S.
Very tasty food, chilled atmosphere, funky decorations and friendly staff. Me and my Fiance loved it :)
P. H.
A quirky little pub that had I not read reviews first, I wouldn't have gone in... however, if you're looking for one of the best burgers in town, and an endless discovery of nicknaks, this is it!!
B.
The staff were lovely, helpful and great craic.

Belter of an establishment. Dead cheap bev if you have a student card & while the burgers are a tenner, they’re well cooked with decent ingredients & will even fill me up
Top gaff. 👍

A pub that's full of surprises.

Cool pub with pretty good and unusual burgers, but the service was really slow and the beers taste like the pipes need cleaning.

Amazing burgers and quirky decor, plus the beer isn't a bad price (for London).

Just amazing. Real shock as not what you'd expect from outside. Can't wait to eat there again. Almost don't want to tell others, in case gets too popular
A. K.
They either need more staff or the current staff needs more encouragement. The service wasn't great, sorry.
Given the special circumstances of that day, this can be easily forgiven though.
G. D.

M. “. T.
Bit of a gritty pub but very quirky in the way a good pub should be. Toilets are awful, decor is questionable but fun, drink selection is okay.
F. W.
Quirky pub just off the end of the Cut. Decent choice of drinks, outside seating and, in a rarity for pubs in the area, enough staff on at busy times.

Small, dark and honest. A rare survivor of the GLC's post-war period (judging by the design.) Handy for Southwark tube and keenly priced.
