Reviews of Lord's Tavern
D. E.
Must visit if you are going to Lord's. Nice food and ales. Excellent service from the staff
A. P.
Food great, amazing sunday roast, thanks to Chef! The service horrible.
J. S.
Had the Cream Tea option after my Lords tour. Yum, and real tea in a pot
G. A.
Went for lunch, ordered a la carte. Steaks were done properly and served on mushrooms. Peppercorn sauce was very thin but OK. Nice Chips. The lamb shanks were tender and tasty. Dessert was a little disappointing- the apple and pear tart would be nicer hot. The toffee crunch is small but tasty, so don't share it! Service is good and attentive.
k. a.
This is fantastic! The service is excellent, the space is super cool and the food delicious :) We had the: veggie samosas 4 kinda small yet tasty samosas with excellent dipping sauces; chicken ruby, really good chicken in a rich makhani sauce. Really good! And garlic naan with raita. All dee-lish we really enjoyed our lunch. Go!
A. M.
Very comfortable late evening pint or two outside this modern pub. Sheltered front seating area with heaters (ok, i know, heaters not very enviro friendly), Cask ales well kept. Friendly barman. Reasonably priced considering its prime position. Didn't eat but dining area looks comfortable. What's not to like, although i imagine its mega busy when the crickets on. Worth a visit.
E. R.
The wine selection wasn't amazing but it was well chilled. The food we had was lovely and highly recommended.
R. F.
Posh pub that has good food and near Wimbledon and the Cricket field. This is an historic spot for cricketers.
Near Abby road studio! My curry vegi dish was amazing! Be sure to tour the grounds!
P. C.
Nicely cooked steak and chips, lovely staff, beautiful pub.
H. M.
VERY busy on match days with very loud cricket goers. The staff didn't seem prepared for a busy lunch time, and even though we booked ahead the speed of service was dismal. They also messed up our drinks order.
The staff were all very apologetic, but I think there were not enough of them and management needs to consider having more people working on days that they must know will be busy.
a. s.
Good food and quick service..... That's what you need before the Match starts
Y. N.
We only had scones and tea. The tea was cold and the scones could have been cooked a little longer. The staff were friendly though and a nice atmosphere there.
S. L.
Modern pub, was expecting something more historic but the drinks were cold
K. R.
Great vibe of the Lord's stadium and amazing choice of drinks and food. A must visit at least for a cup of tea if you are visiting the lords stadium.
M. D.
Nice place to watch Liverpool clinch the second trophy of the season 👌
G. V.
First experience was excellent. Very well cooked food, friendly attentive staff, and nice atmosphere.
M. J.
A very upper class tavern. A wide selection of beer taps and a friendly enough crowd. Not a bad place to watch sports either
W. R.
Best Sunday Roast in London. possible even the WORLD.
L. M.
I love it here! We like to book a table here before the T20 matches. It's such a great place to be! The food is delicious and good value. The beer is well kept too. A must visit when you're heading to Lord's. Can't wait for our next visit tomorrow!
S. A.
Beautiful people! Beautiful fresh food. My personal favourite is the fried fish meal, seasoned and cooked to perfection.
M. M.
Not a bad pub, somewhat lacking on the atmosphere front. Location is handy for me so do pop in from time to time
D. E.
The best Sunday roasts and I have tried quite a few different upmarket type of bistros in the area- all are usually drenched in oil! Not here! Amazing and we are always looked after so well with our children. We have moved from this area now but still come here every Sunday just for the great food and atmosphere
A. N.
Great experience watching Pakistan obliterate India in a world cup match
Fish and chips were yummy too!
N. o.
I had a plesent evening here. Food was fresh and good. Staff great.
C. N.
It's a nice pub and VERY handy after the match at Lord's but then of course, gets busy. Always enough staff on though so never an over long time to wait to be served.
Serves a nice selection of food and is generally a nice place to be.
A major downside for me (I am Scottish after all) is the cost. A round of 6 drinks (1 short, 1 soft and 4 Beers) cost me in excess of £45! In contrast, a coffee was only £2.60.
C. R.
Lovely selection of very good food. Good service. You get lots of colonial throw backs e.g curry themed dishes and they are very well done. And the mint with the coffee ties it up. Children were welcome too but it's by no means overrun by horrific children throwing chips.
S. 1.
What's not to love about this cozy pub? They serve amazing food to a very high standard. They have friendly staff also the meat here is seasoned well. Would highly recommend this place.
Z. B.
We went on match day and there was a fixed menu, which I initially was not a huge fan of. We decided on two starters and then to look for food elsewhere. The chicken tikka and quinoa salad, however were both fantastic. It made me regret not being more adventurous to try a main.
Staff were quite laid back and our waitress was quite attentive, though most of the other staff were hanging out together in one section of the bar and were relatively unfriendly when approached later to find the bathroom. Location is nice, right next to Lords and they have TVs up everywhere for any games on.
H. A.
Lovely management team and lovely Ale
R. V.
Good taste and presentation of hot drinks + potato chips - they come with delicious garlic mayonnaise.
The toilets smell though, which needs improving. Reasonably priced considering Central London location.
Will I visit again - definitely, the venue and the layout being just next to the Lords - Yes
g.
Nice grub, pork burger mmmm!
Went to watch world cup match but not many people there which was probably a good thing, bet it gets crazy busy for cricket season though.
Staff very friendly, definitely will visit again.
R. P.
What an experience visiting London and the lords cricket ground was.
I was mesmerised by the tavern too! A very classy pub suitable for everyone! Was well worth the coach trip there the staff were friendly and managed to squeeze us in without a reservation! The fish and chips were divine, I recommended trying the best burger there the West Indies burger,
Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. Try it!!
G. Y.
Nice pub next to Lords. They've got around 5 or 6 screens (1 large) in there plus one outside. Great space to watch the early or late premier league games on a Saturday. Beers are a tad more expensive - closer to £5, but they have a good range there. It's not normally busy there so you're almost always guaranteed a seat.
M. G.
Had lunch here prior to a tour of Lords cricket ground. Very good food. Amazing chips!! Reasonable prices. So happened the 2nd test against the Windies was on last day. Good atmosphere. When we picked up our tickets from office before tour we were given 10%voucher to use against food but of course we had already eaten so missed our on that!
P. D.
Great beer and friendly service
V. H.
Food was pretty good and not too highly priced, considering the location. A lot of rather disorganised staff on the day we were there. We saw a number of incorrect orders being sent back, even one from our own table. That said, it was the first day for the girl serving us, and very noisy which didn't help. At least she did come back to check the drinks order because she'd had trouble hearing what we'd asked for.
J. D.
My partner and I recently had lunch at the Tavern after completing a tour of the cricket ground, where we were given a 10% discount voucher. We both had the haddock and chips, which my partner described as "the best he's ever had". The staff were friendly and helpful. Being a wheelchair user, I especially appreciated the fact that I could easily get around.
N. G.
Really great Pitstop after Lords, lovely service and the chips are the best!
S. M.
Casual dress. Good pub grub. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good beers etc. Several TVs.
S. “. P.
Great pint. Sadly their online times had us confused. We were sooo hungry and walked very far to eat here... oops. But still everyone was kind we had a pint, found out we were close to abbey road.
J. C.
Good pub next to the cricket ground, worth a visit for a pre game drink.
T. C.
Great friendly staff ,lovely roast dinner and cream tea ,recommended
a. g.
Lovely lavish experience
B. L.
Home from home. Been a member at Lord's since 1976. It's a part of me. Alex, the manageress welcomes everyone like long lost friends. Don't miss the haddock and chips.
C. E.
Fantastic atmosphere . Booked a table for family including 2 young children after a day spent at London zoo. Very helpful staff and food fantastic.
Would go back again .
A. C.
Popped in before doing the tour of the cricket ground, friendly staff with good service. Was fairly quiet but it was a Tuesday early afternoon would imagine on a match day it will be jumping
A. P.
Nice place to grab a pint with two covered outdoor patios.
A. P.
Had a free lunch and pint here after Lords tour. Not what you'd expect based on its history, but good food and good choice of beers. Lots of room and friendly staff.
T.
The food was great. The inventiveness and execution were brilliant. The service could be improved, as we waited longer than necessary for our meals.
M. A. V.
Friendly service and good selection of drinks.
N. M.
First time I visited it didn’t make an impression
Second time ... today absolutely loved it lovely ambience friendly staff and just about to have bangers and mash and it looks the job !!!!
Also the guy doing the quiz is very entertaining
A. H.
Had a pleassnt meal after waiting over an hour to be served from order. To be fair they reduced the bill by 25% and a free drink. However it meant we missed an hour of the cricket match.
D. H.
Excellent pub/restaurant just behind the iconic and Famous Lord's cricket ground. Here's busy on match days so booking is advisable.
A. B.
Really welcoming staff, helpful & cheerful. Nice food & drink
H. F.
They stopped people coming in too soon I'm my opinion - was a match day but they closed the gate when there was still quite a few people inside. Other than that, it's a good pub in a perfect location next to lords
T. M.
Not a great pint in all honesty but extra stars for the great atmosphere after the towns final cricket match next door.
B. F.
Very nice pub next to lords cricket ground cosy and friendly good seating outside with heaters not a cheap place but worth the visit for all you cricket fans.
S. A.
After brilliant Lords tour we headed to Lords Tavern for cream teas:) it was very tasty and our table was very nice. Service is fast and stafs were very nice.
S. F.
First time visit. Food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Pleasant surroundings. Would recommend and certainty come again.
I. S.
Very nice place to come for lunch tea or dinner. Very friendly staff. Not too noisy and sports TV if you so desire
F. D.
Small traditional pub / tavern next to iconic cricket grounds. Very good food. Can get very noisy.
A. U.
Brilliant team behind the bar and the kitchen did some fantastic food. Definitely recommended if you are watching a match on TV
P. J.
We had the lunch deal as part of the tour. Very good value for what we paid. Staff were very attentive and I would recommend the dish stew.
J. F.
Sick place to watch the football, decent pints too
P. S.
Does not look much from outside, but inside it a nice classic pub. Didn't watch, but the food looked good. Definitely going back.
M. B.
Great deal on burgers, sports on TV, great terrace, service can be slow, fantastic food at reasonable price, much better than local competition
M. N.
Excellent food, very nice drinks list and brilliant service. Perfect place to watch the football.
M. B.
Service not great. Apart from being slow he refused my food order saying the kitchen had closed and then took food orders from other customers. Their loss.
R. P.
Great drinks at great price
N. H.
Here on a non match day and perfect place for a quick drink (nice craft beer) and snack (burger and very nice chips) ahead of a talk at Lords.
C. B.
Visited here whilst on a lords tour food lovely service excellent if I'm around this area again will definitely come back again
D. R.
Quick visit to this historic pub, luckily on a very quiet day, great location, food and drink excellent.
M. W.
I was visiting the Lords Cricket Ground and called in her. Food and menu was good, service was excellent - though why they showed the football on the TV escapes me!!
A. D.
Fantastic service and food for my brother's wedding recently. Couldn't have been better
P. B.
Attended a wake here, staff were amazing couldn't do enough for everyone, lovely place, good food and nice atmosphere

(Translated) Sunday, ROAST BEEF delicious, preceded by the best Scottish eggs I have ever tasted, all accompanied by a pint of beer very well served. The waitresses, attentive and friendly. Desserts are also highly recommended. The atmosphere and the decoration, very typical, very British, and everything we ate seemed very rich.
Of course, you have to go early, because it gets crowded. Lastly, we paid about 130 pounds to eat 4 people.
