I’ve frequented this pub on and off for the last 25 years. It’s certainly gone through some changes in that time but so relieved it’s still going strong. In recent times it’s become quite irritating due to its now younger clientele who seem to be a bit high maintenance and irritating. (I refer to an earlier review from a J Lamba) and say it’s best you stay at home and eat the food your mother cooks for you! Then today, Tuesday Feb 8th, when I see Calinovilorina has booked a table for 18.15 for 4 people. I honestly have to say, Get a life!!! This kind of thing puts me off, but it seems it’s the norm nowadays, as younger people and students are so spoilt and self indulgent!! Anyway, I’m glad this place is still going and long may it continue!!!

My mum and I visited this pub on an unfortunate london trip to the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals the following day. This pubs food was incredible, the atmosphere was lively and friendly. We will visit again I'm sure.

Conveniently located to the UCL. The food is delicious, and we especially like both the vegetarian haloumi cheese and the mushroom pie. Could use a few more vegetarian pub-grub items, but what they have are really delicious. Fun relaxed atmosphere, gets very busy between 4-6.

Booked a table to watch a football match there, but due to how high the tv was in the wall it got a bit uncomfortable to watch. Good experience overall, friendly staff. The nachos are really good 👍 The only downside is that there were a lot of options on the food menu that weren't available, like fish and chips and pies.

A very welcoming and safe place for an excellent pint and decent food (we'll forgive the London prices, but actually not too bad). With the not so fun times many of us are having at the moment, it's nice to find a pub keeping people happy but also safe in a friendly manner. With table service in place and excellently carried out, there was little we had to do but sit back, enjoy our visit, rack up the bar tab and make sure we were gone by 10 ;-) Somewhat stumbled across it to get out of the rain, but no hesitation to go back when next in the city.

We had one of the grazing boards with slidders and fish bites, everything was super fresh and delicious. The gentleman in glasses that served us I believe the manager was very welcoming and professional. The prices were also decent as for the area. Will definitely come back when in area, just for those delicious sliders!

Unplanned visit here today just to get out of the rain, nice place, clean with good Covid-19 practices in place. Friendly, positive staff came and took our orders promptly, food was good and staff were mindful of keeping their distance as much as they were able. There seemed to be just 3 people serving every one at the bar and having Christmas dinners to there was a long wait between almost everything. Getting drinks at the bar, getting food; maybe it was just a tough day. The food was okay. The attendants themselves were alright, friendly and helpful. This place was just around the corner from my hotel while on holiday in London. I went around lunch one day and had the fish and chips. Only a few patrons in the pub, and the atmosphere was quite. Food was excellent. Went back the next day around 5:00 PM and had a meat pie. More patrons but still pretty quite. The pie was fantastic. They may get busier in the evenings, but if you want a quite place around the middle of the day with great food, this place is hard to beat.

I'm very fond of this pub. Most from this chain do a veggie fish and chip option on their menu (it's battered and deep fried halloumi instead of fish) but this one is particularly delicious. The staff are really nice, though there often seems like there aren't enough of them on, and there's a great range of beers to choose from. I like the old school decor, and the outdoor tables can be a pleasant spot to sit at on sunny days. What's best, is that on weekends, it's very quiet, unless there's a particularly good football match on - they have more than a few TVs. Very busy on weeknights though.

Honestly the most covid secure pub in London. Super friendly staff, and cannot recommend enough, particularly if you are someone who wants to go to the pub but concerned about covid. Every other pub in central London has no social distancing, and this pub was full, but safely full. Every table at least 2 meters apart, if not more, you are made to hand sanitise at the door, wear a mask whenever not sat at the table (and this is enforced by the staff), made to fill out contact details, and amazing table service from the staff. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A PUB SAFELY IN CENTRAL LONDON DURING COVID-19 LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! *Will definitely return

I had steak and kidney pudding, which was a delight. The staff were friendly and the meal was good value. The only downside was when I paid for my meal, at the ordering stage, as I was paying with my company debit card, you are asked for a gratuity up front. How can you possibly decide on a gratuity when you have not yet been served.

Standard chain pub with decent enough food. Burger approx £11, pint around £4.50. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't particularly busy. Service was mixed - one person very helpful in alerting us to the fact that the kitchen was about to close; but another made snarky comments about drinks orders and decided to tidy up the bar area rather than serve me. Loos down a bit flight of stairs although accessible one on the ground floor.

Ordered chips for takeaway. The staff were friendly. The chips were excellent. Exactly as portrayed by staff (150 grams). They got rated 3 stars purely because of value. A portion of chips was £2.30. they didn't have takeaways containers but we're nice enough to wrap them in foil. But the problem was the portion size... It was about 1/2 a medium portion we'd get from the chippy at home. If the portion size we're increased this could be a super place for chips.

Lovely Pub! Try all the Ales! (Try the lagers if you must.....) Wines and spirits are well stocked too. Have a chat with the bar staff about the ingredient in one of the Ales that no body can get right...... I was there late afternoon/early evening so there was room to swing a cat which ain't bad for a boozer just off TCR. The grub is Standard pub fare, but well done. Go try! See what you think! I shall be going again!

Grew up partly above this pub. Super crowded. Home to most of the students and workers from UCL University and Hospital. Soon they will be standing middle of the road. This pub is really big and still gets crowded so quickly. Don't mentioned football times could hear the screaming 2floors up. Used to love it when England playing. Less goals less noise.

Serves Neck Oil, so that's welcome. Also has a pinball table, so perhaps worth making the trip for that alone. Serves usual pub food. Like a lot of central London pubs, the price of a pint is frankly eye-watering, so even having a few after work feels like a hefty cost, and off-putting because of it.

Courtesy and a genuine concern that customers needs are satisfied. Often people don't rate courtesy or politeness. Staff come & go in the food+beverage business. It's a shame that publicans often fail to recognise the significant impact that a pleasant smile and a courteous word can have on repeat business. The Marlborough is (I would guess) reliant on student and tourist trade. Yet, EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF i encountered was polite, courteous and helpful. The (often habitual) "did you enjoy your meal" was sincerely expressed. These people really made me feel welcome and important. The food is greene king menu style. Reliable with taste. The selections of beers whiskies and gins is good (whiskey - my favourite - particularly good). Large space that doesn't feel isolating, yet still supplies adequate privacy for those fortunate enough to have intimate moments. Most of the staff smile most of the time. Airy, traditional decor, music pleasant but not overbearing. I rarely give a 5 out of 5. But would like to be able to award the staff 4.9.

This place is largely standard Green King fair, though it also offers a CAMRA discount. That simply means the real ale goes from being hideously expensive to merely very expensive. The food isn't much to write home about. The back room is sometimes booked out and there is constantly sport on the TVs. Thre is outside seating but all of it on (admittedly not very busy) roads. This place does serve a purpose, but don't go out of your way to drink here.

Okay for a drink with typical London prices. Food menu is a what you would find in a typical English pub, e.g. steak, fish and chips, hunters chicken. Sometimes if you order food for a large group, the dishes come out staggered and is the only let down of this place. Small groups up to 4 seems to be okay...
