This is one of my favorites pubs in london, it's a traditional, but striped back place, with a range of contemporary art, and quirky bits, against a traditional London boozer, a young staff, super nice and no apps to order! But totally on it when it comes to being covid secure.... The burgers are why I come back 3 times this week to watch the football on there pop up screen (they don't usually have tvs) the shack out the back, cooks up a storm .. Best cheese burger in north London!!!! They have a secret hidden yard out the back... It's here you find the yacht club, a little clubhouse for you and 8 mates! Oh, and they have a fireplace for the winter and super clean toilets... Enjoy! They also do great vegan n vegy burger

Love this place. Wouldn't call it hidden as it's on what is effectively a main road, but perhaps overlooked. Lovely little beer garden, including heated outside room, and a usually a good couple of beers on cask.

Tried this pub out whilst waiting for a train at Essex Road Station. Great pint of Beavertown, staff seem really friendly amd pub decor all very good. I didn't see the garden but from the photos it looks like it's worth a revisit to check it out.

Not the biggest pub by a very pleasant outdoor garden. Great and friendly service, depsite bring a large and probably difficult group, they continued to serve us with smiles. Also they have a great indoor fire which isn't huge but very unique and gives a very comforting and winter friendly vibe. Food was incredible too, halloumi fries were perfect, the right crunch, taste and saltiness. Burgers were delicious too; flavorful and juicy.

Cosy neighborhood spot, roaring fire and dogs hanging out in the winter. Good selection of ales and beers. There's a piano in the bar area and lots of boardgames like Scrabble and Pictionary to play while you eat and drink.

We randomly stumbled across this place and what a treasure it is! The drinks are great and so cheap for the area, the bar staff were awesome, it was super relaxed and friendly. Would like to go back for food or a quiz night. It was cold when we went but outside in the beer garden in the sun seems like it would be a great place to be.

I was looking for an average English pub experience and I got what I came for. I had an Old fashioned nothing too fancy and was pleasantly surprised by the way it tasted. The ambience was that of a typical pub. Somewhat funky music playing a little louder than what I'm used to but ok for a sunny Sunday bank holiday.

The one and only place in Islington that has the best Sunday roast. When me and the family don't cook a roast then we go here. Now there are other venues that say they do but trust they don't. We thought we'd experience and they fail miserably or the clientele are used to standard plain food?! The staff are great, drinks are too. Its nice and cosy even on a cold day. The beer garden is great too. You will have to wait a while to think of something bad about here!!!👍🏾

Really friendly local with a great trivia evening on Monday evenings. The burgers are excellent (and very well priced) and there is also a very good wine list for those not in the mood for a pint. It is a small space so bookings are recommended for pub quiz and bigger groups

Awesome pub. Went there on ‘vinyl Wednesday’ and got a glass of wine on top of having them play a record I brought as if that wasn’t good enough in itself! Had an order of chips to clump the beer and they were pretty good too.

A top class pub with great atmosphere, good beer and an excellent collection of exotic spirits and single malts/bourbons. Great craft bar snacks and excellent friendly staff, especially the lanky gingery one with the cheeky smile. Only downside was a massive bloke in the corner with a smelly, mean looking dog and a mate who kept shouting about Hitler.

Truly a bastion of the north. I've visited a few times, each time becoming closer and closer to a family of extreme class. Everything just feels right no matter the day. Food is of exquisite quality, only the prime cuts used. Staff are an utter delight, witty and composed. I've only met the owner family briefly but what a treat, thoroughbreds.

Really nice quite hidden pub on the long stretch of Essex Road. Went there recently to try the Gravy Train pop up (for fried chicken) and liked some of the ciders and beers on tap. There was a little party in the garden which would be nice on a good day. Sat inside and nice decor and seems to be a place to stop by or for locals.

All the charm, authenticity and character of a proper boozer with the elegant decor and buzz of a thoroughly modern central London bar. Serving some hearty pub snacks: hot sausage rolls and Scotch eggs, and some of the best salt beef beigels this side of Brick Lane - this was a superb night out. Fantastic wine list (try the Bordeaux by the glass!) and a decent ale selection make this my favourite pub in Islington right now. The landlords and bar staff were friendly and engaging. Couldn't recommend more!

Cosy place with a good beer selection. We go there a fair bit. Nice Scotch eggs. It's very quirky which is interesting, but can be a little cramped too. The boat themed shed thing out the back is really odd, but for a small group so cosy and very different.

Drinks and food are less expensive than other places in Neighbourhood, and of a good quality, but service is poor. You have to ask for things like cutlery, napkins and condiments when eating there, and one staff member only seems to stand around and complain about the place! No wonder his tips are low.
