Reviews of No 32 The Old Town

This is the first time I’ve tried this place and the breakfast was solid. I’d recommend the Creamy Field Mushrooms & Butter Beans on Sourdough - outstanding. Also, their hot chocolate is one of the better ones I’ve had.
M.
Food was ok but I think better for drinks. I can imagine it’s really nice upstairs during the summer.
I was quite disappointed with the chicken pie. For £15 it could have been served with some green beans or broccoli. In my opinion the best part of a pie is the pastry, and I think this was a mean helping of pastry which wasn’t even tasty. The actual inside of the pie was like a soup, so I am not sure whether you can call this a pie!
I would like to try the brunch here as there are some good reviews.
S.
I had the Breakfast Brioche and I’m still thinking about it, that’s how good it was. The soft and creamy scrambled eggs together with crush avocado in that soft buttered bun made it heavenly! Will be back to try more yummy things on the menu

This place is hands down the best cafe in Broadway. Delicious food with lots of healthy and vegan options to choose from. The atmosphere is fantastic with super friendly staff, especially Kurt! Love going there for breakfast or lunch whenever I can, washed down with local Broadway Press apple juice! Can't recommend Number 32 highly enough.

(Update) I came back here for the first time in a year and I was very disappointed.
The staff were friendly and helpful like the other times I've visited. However, the food was a massive disappointment. We visited on a Sunday afternoon hoping for a Sunday roast, however they ran out. Which was a bit annoying considering it was advertised as a all day roast. It was a bit disappointing but we booked a table for a get together so it would be inconvenient to change last minute. So we ordered something else. I got the house burger which was fine.
My girlfriend and her friend got the vegan burger and wasn't very impressed. Someone else ordered a steak and didn't seem very happy either.
I have to mention this was the only bad experience I've had here but considering it was the most recent experience I had with no 32, I thought I should update my review.

I went to No 32 a few days ago and the breakfast was delicious. Due to covid your temperature will be check on your way in and you will have to make your order on an app. When I came in they gave a glass of cucumber water while I looked through the menu.
They're eggs were mouth watering and the thier toast with lemon curd was amazing.
(Edit)
I had they're ribeye steak served with a bearnaise sauce and it was mouth watering. I'm still thinking about it now. I had it medium raw and it was perfect.
The only negative I can think about is how expensive the place is. A single beer was eight pounds.
G. T.
Came yesterday for a few drinks, staff are super friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. If you’re after a vibey place to eat or drink, I’d definitely recommend this. Will visit again!
H. L.
Really really tasty food at reasonable prices along with some great cocktails. And friendly staff as well. The app system worked well for the time we are living but of course it lacks the service interaction, so difficult to ask questions about the menu when staff are busy. Having said that, we could order when we wanted and the food came promptly. Definitely book and request the terrace, it's lovely in the sun.
N. B.
Great menu giving a range of choices depending on your taste. Prices are good for London & its tastefully decorated!
I experienced first class service from our server, being polite, & friendly, without being overly so! He's the first person I've come across that asked about allergies!!
I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area!
D.
Special location, just enough off the high street to feel out of the without a long walk! The food is great - really enjoyed the croquettes and the mussels. The cocktail list is creative and the ones we tasted were delicious. The downfall…. Service could have been more proactive, we would have ordered more if our waitress had checked in. We felt slightly neglected. Otherwise, a great night.

We visited this place for brunch on Mother’s Day. It has very nice design and superb service. Although we didn’t make a reservation (and you really should even for brunch as it’s a popular place locally) the waitress was helpful finding a table that suits our needs. I also saw waiters being very nice to other customers like rushing to open doors for older people or buggies.
The food was superb as well although a bit pricy and a bit small portions. We paid £32 for avocado and smashed aubergine, 2 poached eggs, pancakes and two coffees. Overall I would say it’s a very good value because I felt the food was truly special. My decaf coffee was the best I’ve had ever and definitely wasn’t a compromise like it’s normally every other place.
The place is spacious and very good for families - we saw lots of buggies and also older children. The place also had good baby changing facilities.
J. G.
Food was tasty, well cooked. Customer service was always floating around even whilst the place was busy. Friendly staff and food was served quickly. Only gripe is that it van get really noisy with so many people inside.
M. C.
Lovely place, friendly staff and accommodating. Great they were very thorough with allergy information and consciousness with information around this, which was reassuring. Food was yummy, and reasonably priced, and the setting on the roof top was very relaxing. Would definitely return.
A. C.
I've been here a few times overall, sitting inside and out. Most recently I sat outside on the terrace on a Sunny day which was fortunate. Really nice food across the menu and a good selection of drinks. Don't expect to get a table on the terrace though. I had the club sandwich and macaroni cheese, both are excellent!
C. G.
Fantastic service from the friendly staff at No 32. The Vegan Breakfast with a side of poached eggs (clearly, I'm not a vegan) were delicious. Everything was packed with flavour. Cannot fault the meal and I will be back, for sure!
M. N.
Nice food and service. Shame it requires an app to order. I don't want an app for every place I visit, especially one that requires an account and collects so much personal data. Turn it into a website that doesn't require an account or allows social accounts.
N. I.
Good food but I felt like it was a bit overpriced. I had a burger: buns are delicious, sauce was a bit sweet, and can't complain when you get double patties :) Pretty popular even for the weekday lunch, and it looks almost impossible to get in on weekends.
S. P.
Took us a while to be served once seated, but food did come out quite quickly. Food was ok. Wouldn’t be rushing back.
P. R.
Booking and social distancing policies are active at this venue. It felt very safe and staff were wearing masks during their shifts.
The rooftop is a lovely little area, staff are very friendly and welcoming!
Food is great, try the cheese board and the paprika fries are perfect to much on.
The cocktail selection is a must, will 100% be coming back. 😋
N. L.
Not my first time in No 32 but each time I go there the service is rather disappointing.
I was there a couple of weeks ago with a friend and decided to grab some food and drinks. Upon arrival, the hostess was rather not welcoming. We asked if a table was available on the terrace before we could even finished our sentence they turned around without saying anything, looked at their phone and then proceed to check for us. We were told that someone will be waiting for us and we got hit with all the house rules in a rather repetitive and careless way.
“please go forward, only use this door to exit, we only offer a 90 minutes experience. Respect this timing.” The fact that we had to manage our own timing for a booking is pretty bad to me. If I were to have a great time does this mean that I have to keep my eye on my watch and making sure we do not go above the 90minutes? I don’t believe so but that’s how it came out and how we felt.
Both of my friend and I work in hospitality in a bar close by as well and understand that the rules are the rules and not everyone follow them but it made the experience rather not welcoming and friendly at all.
My friend ordered the mussel and I ordered the vegan burger.
The mussel were good but the vegan burger, what a disappointment for £12.50 with no fries. You could see that the bun had been frozen because it was just crumbling from everywhere and so dry. The fries weren’t hot and kind of a small portion.
The two staff that were on that terrace were running everywhere since it was a full terrace on that evening so we didn’t want to cause trouble to them specially knowing how difficult those times are.
I think that the service you get isn’t worth their prices either.
M. P.
A nice bar/restaurant with reasonably priced drinks and food. A good atmosphere and the staff and helpful and engaging even if a little hard to recognise at times due to the uniforms.
M. P.
Such a great night, atmosphere was brilliant with everyone enjoying the sunshine ... cocktails were lush but no Pornstar Martinis or Daiquiri’s ... we didn’t eat but the food that was coming out on the Terrace looked crazy yummy! I’ll definitely be back, loved it 😍
J. M.
Great food and atmosphere, hidden gem in Clapham. Very busy on a Thursday night !
J. H. T. S. B. B.
A great venue. Nice service at the bar, just watch the service charge adding when someone just has drinks!
S. D.
Used to love this place but for some reason they are still limiting capacity in the evening so it has lost its edge
M. T.
Best place around Clapham Common! Very cozy, very nice staff and the food is just delicious!! Lots of vegetarian options too!
A. P.
Great bar for drinks on a night out! But also delicious food, we came for Sunday Roast and it was yummy! Friendly and professional staff :)
V.
Lovely place to hang out. Great menu. Tasty food. Quite a few delicious choices for vegetarians. Lots of friendly staff, so did not need to wait to make orders.
We were 8 so had to wait quite a bit to get food.
It was just slightly too loud and had to shout to get others to hear you.
Otherwise place to go and experience again!
J. B.
Nice pub and great food but need to improve the app based order - should be an option which doesn't require downloading app and opening account (which requires DoB, email and phone number) in order to order a drink. It's a pretty long process and frustrating that all food for the table came separately.
E. S.
Impecable service. Brunch is brilliant with quality ingredients. We will definitely treat ourselves to this place again soon
L. J.
Exterior is sooo pretty and staff are lovely. Food was absolutely delicious, we had a few small plates and not one wasn't perfect. Only room for improvement is the interior it needs a bit of an update.
E. A.
Really nice atmosphere for lunch: bright and casual. Eggs Royal were delicious but the truffled mac n cheese was tasteless. A dependable option.
E. S.
Great terrace area. I had the fish and chips which was nice. My wife's burger was a little dry. Overall it was a good experience and the service was good.
K. M.
Three diff places: Ground floor when its not super-busy = Lovely place for a chilled drink, nice crowd, lovely decor etc.
Restaurant = Overpriced for what it is, although the vibe is nice. The food is generally pub style but charged a little bit more. Halloumi flatbread is stunning though.
Upstairs bar / Terrace / Downstairs when its busy = Great fun! Lovely 'Clapham Style' crowd, a good giggle and well worth a visit.
Bar Staff - Quite up their own A***, sometimes serve doubles instead of singles without permission (quite often actually)
O. H.
You have to download a whole new app to even order food, which made for a very fiddly and longwinded order process.
The chicken Sunday roast was more like a quarter of cabbage roasted with a small side of chicken (one tiny leg and an even smaller thigh, so mainly just bones tbh). A little disappointing but the staff were nice.
T. H.
Beautiful place with gorgeous food. Loved sitting at the counter and seeing our food being put together.
E. C.
A lovely venue but the food wasn't where you'd expect it to be for the price point. However the staff were lovely. Our hostess / manager was beyond amazing Sure the service would have been great but the app convoluted it.
Wouldn't recommend the Ragu dish, very disappointing
M. R.
A nice casual pub that is dog friendly (always a bonus) and had a great location just off of Clapham Common. The food is hit and miss - for example, their beef burgers are great (although it would be good to add a chicken alternative) as are their pies, but their roast chicken (not Sunday lunch, just standard) was not great unfortunately. On the whole it’s a lovely place though.
K. C.
Great service, nice spot, yummy food. The self order and pay using the app works perfectly too 😊
Σ. Μ.
One of the greatest places in Clapham Commmon. Professional staff, very cozy place with modern style and for the end an amazing menu to fill your appetite.
E. F.
Roof terrace looks really nice.
Have to download an app to get the menu.. Which means signing up and entering personal details to create an account.. If you need to use their wifi you have to fill out more forms (why do you need to know my gender and other personal details to let me use your wifi?!)
Burgers were decent but nothing special, £6 pint camden hells (and £6.10 shandy?! Never seen a shandy being more expensive than the pint of beer, must be phenomenal lemonade!) and almost £10 for an average medium glass of wine.
Temperature on arrival which is sensible, and handsanitizer too, but were told we didn't need masks which surprised me given how busy it was..
Nice evening, the invasive forms seem a bit much.
a. r.
So so Glad to be back here, staff totally went over and above to make it enjoyable. lovely decor and service.. big up to Diogio and Elina who made our time there really great (and helped me cos i couldn't use the app). food is scrummy too.
I. T.
Love this place, friendly staff, great atmosphere, nice food.
S.
Good vibe, very busy but that's due to it being very lovely inside, great food. Polite and fast waiters/waitresses. Upstairs with balcony area. Not too expensive, however you cannot take the food as takeaway fundamentally due to it being a pub. Would recommend if you fancy a drink/meal with cool looking inside and outside.
E. S.
I went with a friend this weekend and the atmosphere is great. We both ordered the breakfast tacos which were delicious but small. I also only realised on leaving the restaurant that the tacos were meant to come with salsa and avocado which they didn't (see photo.) Wish I'd noticed beforehand as it may have made the dish a little more substantial.
C. T.
Very nice food, tremendous service from a young Ecuadorean gent, but the tiniest serve of fish I’ve ever been given as a main course anywhere, ever. I got a burger on the way home.
A. R.
For the house salad I'd have expected more leafy greens in it and being a more substantial portion in general. Plus swimming in dressing that a puddle formed. Added the chicken which arrived 5 mins after the salad as a side. Not as I'd have thought on the top.
Club Sandwich was apparently not great, dry chicken and cold not crispy fatty bacon.
Would have hoped for a bit better.
S. n.
Lovely little bar to have some drinks and nibbles, cocktails were great and the edamame hummus was delicious 😋 service was great, sabby made us feel very welcome 😀 will definitely be back soon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
E. J. C.
Enjoyed lunch here with a colleague for her birthday - friendly staff, swift service and the chocolate mousse....
I. S.
Loved the food. The falafel were amazing and we felt really welcomed by the staff.
I'll definitely recommend to vegans 🥰
F. W.
Really enjoyed our Megan's Brunch . Delicious slightly spicy tomato compote with fennel flavour and very garlicky dark mushrooms. Good quality bacon and sausage and nicely cooked eggs. Ding dong! No greasy fare here, all very nice and good teas and coffees. Not cheap but worth paying for, maybe I would have avoided a second drink if I had been more savvy about the pricing but a lovely place and I would definitely recommend it.
Staff excellent, clean, nice China and a plug to charge up your phone or laptop. My first visit since its reincarnation in this form and will definitely return.
J. S.
I made a delivery there it's on my list to go to it's like the sort of place I would like
D. V.
It was a lovely sunny day when we visited No 32 The Old Town, and even though the place was packed, we managed to find ourselves a couple of seats on the upstairs balcony. We enjoyed some drinks and then tucked into some delicious food. The house salad with roast chicken as absolutely amazing, a great combination of veg topped with sumptuous roast chicken. The club sandwich was also good. The service is definitely a bit sketchy though, it didn't bother us too much as we were not in a hurry.
p. h.
The staff were fantastic, friendly helpful, they could not do more. I wanted a quiet spot for brunch and the terrace was perfect, I got to see Clapham from another perspective during a quiet Sunday morning. Food was excellent and choice on the menu was a good balance of meat, fish or vegetarian
h.
Friendly and welcoming staff & really good food. Some nice small plates to share if you’re in a group.
D. N.
Fantastic service and a lovely Sunday roast
C. D.
A very busy and popular place it seems. The cocktails are delicious. Deposits are required for larger groups. There is an open kitchen so you can see all the chef's hard at work. The homemade burgers were great, with the in house made condiments and jams added to them were delicious. The Yorkshire puddings on the roasts were a little sub-par however, tough to eat and the beef was quite dry. Hopefully this was simply due to the large volume of customers and not a consistent issue.
E. D.
Covid measures were being put in place. We were well being taken care of, friendly service. You order through their app and food gets delivered to your table, very convenient. Good food too! Will recommend the place to friends
L. G.
The staff were amazing and super friendly - the food was lovely and the cocktails very enjoyable. Would recommend.
Y. A.
Lovely venue, been here many times and will keep coming back. Great service, and lovely indoor and rooftop seating areas
A.
Beautiful rooftop area and food is great, i recommend going for the seabass! Management extremely friendly and lovely non alcoholic cocktails
B.
Great place to try! The staff is lovely and there is a good selection of food for everyone. I tried a few dishes and all of them were 👍 Baby friendly too, which is a bonus.
D. R.
Service was a little rocky for the the majority of the evening, and we were unexpectedly asked to move inside (off our outdoor terrace table) to be served our main course - which nobody had warned us of. Apparently they wanted to close the terrace and clean up. Would have been nice if they'd either let us finish our dining experience or at the very least warned us. The evening was only saved by two things: 1) The quality of the food was excellent. 2) The lovely Sonia (our waitress) and her outstanding smile that appeared towards the end of the night. Would go again, but only if served by Sonia!
N. B.
Went here for breakfast which was delicious and reasonably priced for London. Would be 5 stars, however they brought us the bill without asking if we might like to order more drinks. If the restaurant was busy we would understand needing to get new people in, but it was pretty empty with lots of spare tables.
J. D.
Food okay but very expensive for what you get
M. J. S.
One of the best restaurants I have been in so far!! Amazing experience, great staff and even better food. Julian, our waiter, was lovely, he was attentive and knew just how to advise us. Made our lunch that much better. We will definitely be back! Reccomend the terrace upstairs, especially with the nice weather.
P. N.
Lovely place, however some of the waitresses were very inexperienced, not knowing about the food or coffees, but still all very friendly and pleasant.
Food and drinks were tasty, but arrived cold.
Overall great atmosphere though, so I would definitely go again & recommend to others!
N. G.
Went here for a group meal. Ambiance was good thoughts the food was rather inconsistent. I (and the group) thought a few of the dishes including the wings appetiser were really nice. Desserts should be avoided with two of the three tried left unfinished.
f. l.
Great Tea And Cocktail list. Good range of wines and Champagnes. Cozy Sofas and lovely ambience off peak. Very Hectic on weekends. Bottle of rose on the terrace in the summer and drinks by the roaring fire in the winter. I particularly like this restaurant when my friend buys me their Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne!
m. h.
this is my first review, because i was so pleased with everything. The food was fantastic, fast and hot. The atmosphere was cosy, friendly and everything you could want. Style of the restaurant was right up my street and the servers were attentive and helpful.
D. P.
Pleasant bar/restaurant in Clapham old town. We went for an afternoon coffee as a group with several babies in tow. The atmosphere was chilled out and the service cheery. I enjoyed my iced latte but didn't try the food. Baby changing facilities are available and of a good standard.
J. G.
Really lovely staff and super spot on the terrace for drinks and dinner. Menu was very limited, but I suspect that is due to only just reopening after covid!
C. T.
Just a very cool restaurant/ bar with so many elements. Beautiful terrace (always busy), not a bad roast... there are better but it is good! The front bar area isn't so good for a coffee but if you have a table, you are fine. Overall, a beautiful building with nice decor and good food. Definitely a summer hotspot. Best to book!
s. C.
This is a beautiful gastro pub, the food was amazing and the cocktails were well made. This is the perfect place for a nice afternoon lunch. Guaranteed you will have a nice time and a nice meal. Definitely ask to be seated upstairs, it's the best!
A. F.
Trendy pub with good ambience. A bit pricey, but that’s probably because of the location. There’s also a nice terrace that gets lots of sunshine. Obviously it gets very busy on a nice sunny day.
Food is good but not 5 star material.
T. F.
I ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done. I also had to re-order my tea three times as they kept bringing me the wrong tea despite me pointing to it on the menu. Worst of all, after drinking unflavoured water for most of the night, I then was given a glass of cucumber water. I’m allergic to cucumber! When I asked for water without cucumber, the waiter actually rolled his eyes at me! Food and wine was good, but not worth the price
O. C.
Spent the afternoon and into the evening here with a sizable party for a colleagues leaving do.
Service was very good and the menu was fine.
Food service for our larger group was a little haphazard though, but when it arrived its was nice.
Will definitely go again but with a smaller party next time.
D. S.
Was there for brunch and drinks. It took a long time to server the full table, for a mid sized group. The eggs Benedict were good, and I'd advise a side of bacon - 3 of our group added it to their order when they saw it.
The terrace gets busy, but has a nice atmosphere.
S. B.
Friendly staff, nice food. Wine a tad pricy. Can't help laughing at the menu: the food is "scratch-cooked". The chefs have skin problems?
N. B.
Probably better for drinks than food. Of our 4 mains only 1 was hot. 2 were just warm and the fourth was cold. Menu looked interesting, but unlikely to return to find out. If you want a 3 course meal get there early because you don't seem to be offered the option after 9.30.
J. G.
Fun evening out. The roof top has wonderful views of the common although it would benefit having a few outdoor heaters. Their espresso martini's make a delightful start to the evening.
J. C.
This is a nice venue with a really nice roof terrace out onto the road. We went here for Sunday brunch which was really pleasant. I would say that the food and drink was good, but I wouldn't necessarily say 'great' which is why I give it 4 stars. But hey, definitely one of the places to go in Clapham!
L. R.
Just been on Sunday with my foodie friends and it’s so so.
The atmosphere is nice and the italian waiter was lovely but the food is really not worthy: shame! The beef roast was ok although I never saw before the veg in cream and no gravy to come with it. I had the quater chicken which basically between the fact that they give me the wing and the very small cut there was no meat to eat!
Then we tryed the chocolate mousse and we were a little disappointed. It looked nice but it was too sweet and heavy, in 3 people we could not finish one, and we are dessert lovers!
L. S.
This is one of the nicest pubs in the neighbourhood and I hardly ever visit is as it gets crazy busy in the evenings and it is not easy to get in. Now that I have tried sunday roast I can say a bit more about the place and the food - it is a solid 4. It is not as great as you would expect from this very popular place but it is correct. Big minus for not having cheescake for dessert :) The atmosphere is truly nice and the staff friendly a little improvement on the food and I would be a frequent customer.
L. K.
Nice local bar with good selection of beverages at a slight premium! Not tried the restaurant yet (so conscious of some of the -ve comments below!) but the kitchen is visible and looks well catered for! The terrace upstairs is a great + when opened! You may want to try the extra walk from Clapham Common tube station...
Had dinner and lunch since, one thing that annoys me is the wrong vintage on most of the wine list! Otherwise menu is fine with good variety of ingredient!
T. H.
Very impressive service received - helpful call centre staff and fast delivery. Order 6 Stella, 1 Prosecco, 1 Smirnoff, 2 Diet Coke - delivered by David within agreed timescale of 35 minutes. Recommended & reliable.
Y. B.
Great food, great service and great ambiance. We understood why this place was great after meeting the owner of the place who is absolutely lovely. I strongly recommend Number 32. I had one of the best schnitzel (the quality of the meat is outstanding) and a very yummy Sunday Beef Roast!
F. (. D.
We’ve been a few times now for brunch and afternoon drinks. Food is always great but the staff doesn’t pay attention and is very slow. Yesterday we went for a breakfast and the place was quiet yet we had to specifically ask to take our order after a long wait and multiple times to get our bill.
A. S.
I went here with my one and only, Helen Seidenberg. It was fine; food was excellent. I got the steak and SHE had the steak and ale pie. Starters were decent as well but we can't remember which ones we got. company was poor but that's not the fault of the restaurant. However they did forget our Mac and cheese (which was the only reason we came) and they did hustle us out. So all in all they get a solid four on five. A slice of Essex on Clapham. X
C. B.
Cute place, with good food and pleasant staff. Their home made soft drinks are recommended. Beware the 12.5% service charge, which is not really advertised.
A. B.
Very friendly and stylish bar, also serving excellent food. Quite a young crowd, but very civilised. More of a place to go in a group than for a date night of an evening. Gets very busy on Fridays and Saturdays - but for a good reason!
S. R.
Don’t order the Sheppard’s Pie, if you like traditional English Sheppard’s pie. Very disappointing soupy mince beef with a few new potatoes thrown on top.
When I informed the staff, they’re showed great hospitality and offered me something else off the menu, which is when I went with the waiters recommendation the vegetarian roast butternut squash curry, with chilli & coconut. It was delicious & hearty 👍
N. D.
Promised more than it delivered: Trendy space with tasteful decor and exciting looking menu; Eggs were poached perfectly but unfortunately, the bread was hard, truffle macaroni cheese was watery to the point that we couldn't taste the truffle or cheese and the cocktail jug was three quarters ice, which is cheeky considering the price (£36). Despite it being busy and staff clearly overstretched, they were polite and helpful. Not great value for money, which is such a shame as the menu and interior look great. Perhaps some soft furnishings would be beneficial as was very noisy and the 3 of us were struggling to hear each other at our table.
C.
Great place for drinks especially outside or on the roof terrace. Sadly, the food is terrible & over priced though. Sunday lunch - The bland lamb was served with horrible thick disgusting gravy and hard over-cooked potatoes, over-cooked cabbage & hard over-cooked Yorkshire pudding (you get the picture). The mussels were cold & also bland. Crab cake starters were 99% potato. Didn’t bother with dessert after that. The dining area is very loud & noisy, so we also had to speak to each other loudly - a vicious circle of escalating volume! But drinks later on the roof terrace on a sunny afternoon was great!!!

Great bar with a selection that's on point. The terrace upstairs looking down on the Pavement and the Common is icing on the cake on warmer days.
Haven't had lunch or dinner here but I have sat at their kitchen/bar table and it looked on point.
This place is popular - it gets very crowded towards the end of the week.
T. K.
Nice terrace and drinks! Tasty burger too.
D. D.
Lovely atmosphere and a decent cocktail menu! It gets pretty loud on a Friday evening, but that is to be expected for the genre really. Very decent burger and chicken schnitzel.
D. D.
The app you need to use to order is a headache, it asks for all your personal data and there's no regard for privacy.
Food is overpriced for what you get.
P. A.
No 32 offers high quality food and drink in a great location - Clapham old town.
I went for brunch and ordered salmon and scrambled egg on toast and it was fantastic - this is of course, a difficult dish to mess up, but even so, the fish and eggs were obviously very fresh and tasty.
The coffee was relatively average, nothing special. The ambience and the staff brought my review up to 4 stars, as both were fantastic.
C. C.
It's a very popular local restaurant with open roof top area which is always full, pretty and lovely especially in the summer.
I went there in August 2016 to celebrate my husband's birthday. Despite having booked a table in advance and there were plenty of other tables available in the dining area, we were put at the back of the restaurant next to the door leading to the washroom. We werent too fuss about it as the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The Beef Tacos and peppered squid was lovely. A tenner for a cocktail I think was pricey. My husband only get a small piece of rib eye steak for the £22 price tag, and it was only ok-ish.
Might be good for a eveninng drink. Not for dinner and I will not revisit.
T. M.
Beautiful interior, tastefully done. Gorgeous roof terrace. Suffers from overcrowding in the summer and can get very noisy as a result. In my opinion best in the winter, upstairs they have a little fire which is a well kept secret!
S. G.
We were told it was pretentious and over priced. The drinks are expensive and the bar staff aren't the most efficient, however the restaurant staff were attentive, friendly and quick. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality we received. Would have been 5 star had it not been for the slow bar staff.
S. P.
The food was good, service was OK. I liked the ambiance for a bar, but it was a bit noisy for dinner. There were good options for kids. We didn’t make it upstairs so I’d probably go back to try that out!
T. L.
Good pub, occasionally queues at the weekends. Good beer choice, will be perfect if they can knock off 50p to £1 per pint.
R. S.
We have recently moved to the area and checked out the old town. Really enjoyed the open bar, food was very nice. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Y. B.
Great place in Clapham old town to grab few beers / cocktails with friends. Some sort of upmarket location with very nice terrace. Always a tad disappointed by the lack of change in the food menu ... decent continental cuisine but don't expect anything astonishing.
S. D.
Really nice atmosphere. Chilled out and great selection of drinks. Nice outdoor area upstairs and good for brunch. Would be helpful to have GF and other allergies noted on menu.
B.
Always packed! This place is super trendy. Love the terrace during summer! Cocktails are okay tasting, food is quite good, would mostly go for the vibe though.
P. A. P.
Nice bar for drinks in Clapham old town. The place is really nice, although too small for the amount of people that it's in it after 9 pm. Drinks a little bit over priced and if you soon go in early you'll have to queue.
R. M.
Nice bar, with good vibes. The food (I had chicken) was cooked perfectly. Would be a 5 except for the table service was non existent when we paid our food bill
J. R. A.
Very happy, relaxed place with nice food and good service. Try to get a table on the first floor terrace with views of Clapham Common (they don't take bookings for those tables, so you have to be early or lucky), but downstairs is also nice, especially if you can get a seat at the bar.
D. H.
Friday lunch for two, warm welcome from the maitre d'. A great layout with a central bar, plenty of staff, venue was not too busy. However, a 30 min wait for starter followed by another 50 min wait for main. I had to remind the maitre d' - hence the lower score. Food was fine & maitre d' pleasant, shame about the wait.
C. v. d. W.
Food was okay, Mussels were nice but not very special and the same for dessert. I thought that the music was a bit too loud. Go here if you enjoy a pub vibe, not ik you are looking for a restaurant atmosphere.
K. K.
Lovely modern bar which was pretty busy. One of the most professional, efficient and skilled bar staff I have seen in England in a "normal" bar. The good looked amazing but we had drinks.
N. O.
Amazing burger, literally melts in your mouth!!!
I have to say I was quite impressed with their mojito and bellini. They were spectacular! Finally a place that doesn't over load their cocktails with sugar.
Minus a star due to a very rude and inattentive waitress working Sunday 5th of June.
s. a.
Its our usual place to catch up with friends with a few drinks. Staff is always smiley and helpful. But on 1 occasions I asked for coffee a a bartender told me coffee machine was closed (it was not I saw other bartender making coffee 10 min later) It wasn't a problem I asked a single vodka with redbull usually they give you the redbull on the side. This guy gave me a double vodka mixed with redbull (redbull is not given on the side probably he shared mine with others) and wanted to charge me £13. I said I asked for single and where is my redbull very politely he showed me the drink menu and crashed the menu looking in to my eyes and chucked it in to the bin and walked off still expecting me to pay. Wow I was shocked and in disbelief I spoke to the manager after 10min I got my drink. Manager didn't charge me for the drink although I insisted to pay. I still give the place 5* thinking every family has a black ship.
R. C.
Nice space, a little noisy but that's just because it's always busy. Food was ok, nice to see chefs at work. Staff always attentive. Love it it in the summer when roof top space is open.
O. T.
Great place for brunch in Clapham. Great rooftop dining as well.
C. J.
Delicious food, cool atmosphere however I booked for 6 to have dinner and wasn't told it would be a raging nightclub right beside our table. The music was so loud we couldn't hear one another.
A. d. K.
Went there for a Sunday brunch (the breakfasts of the other guests looked amazing - wish I came by earlier to be on time for that!)
Most of the table ordered benedicts that comes with avo and spinach as an extra compared to other restaurants - you can order this as a single or double and then also with bacon or salmon. Also had the rhubarb and ricotta pancakes with creme fraiche and lavender caramel- pancakes were lovely but needed a tad bit more syrup or creme fraiche. The rhubarb was good, and a welcomed addition to pancakes who are usually accompanied by more popular toppings.
r. m.
Chill place, nice rooftoop but a little bit overpriced (the juice) and limited non alcoholic / sugar free drinks - for the non drinkers . Bartender gives more attention to the ladies than to the guys, luckely a friendly guest mentioned that I was waiting to be attended longer then her
E. P.
I haven't eaten here but it's a cool place for a drink after work, upstairs balcony area is good in summer although it can get quite popular. Decent drinks selection.
M. E.
I didn't love this place. I had dinner here. It's pretty expensive. Food is good. They pump the music and pack you in. Hard to have a conversation without screaming... I'm 38 now... Must be getting too old for this kind of place!
A. L.
I actually really love this restaurant in Clapham Common. It's super friendly, good for families & pets and the clientele are all good looking! They served us promptly and our food was really well presented and fresh! I loved my veggie burger and my mate polished off his double meat patty burger with bacon. The mussels looked super fresh. The kid was happy with his mac'n'cheese and absolutely loved his vanilla icecream with caramel fudge but - there wasn't a veggie option for doubled poached egg with hollandaise (it was either with ham or salmon). I guess I could have asked for a veggie version but I think it could easily be on the menu with spinach! Also the person who had the eggs royale felt his dish lacked size - he wanted more bread. Oh and the flat white was slightly burnt. BUT the raspberry posset is soooooo yummy! It's got that tartness that perfectly cuts thru the richness of the cream. Yum! Will find and excuse to go back for that!
H. T.
Great breakfast and bunch venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Not too pricey either. Apparently is good for drinks at night too. Would go back.
K. M.
Has an excellent roof garden with pergola, food and drink selection is excellent. Staff friendly and accommodating. Good for date night or catching up with friends.
M. C.
I love this bistro, food it's amazing and drinks too. During summer I'm always there early so I can take a lovely spot in their terrace 😁
I. H.
Like it a lot. Was last there three months ago and going again soon. Haven't tried the food yet, but the terrace bar has a great view of Clapham Common and it's nice inside.
L. N.
It can get a little packed on a Friday/Saturday night, but generally it's worth it! There's a roof terrace, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is just right... a nice mix of bar/pub/restaurant
R. S.
Nice decor and cosy bar. Staff friendly. A nice upstairs drinking area aside from the main downstairs bar. Selection of beers wasn't bad but equally not enough craft beers.
A. B.
Great vibe, really nice food and friendly staff.
S. H.
Lovely food excellent service
M. C.
We were really excited by the menu and look of this place once we arrived...only to attempt to order several things that weren't available- it seemed like they had run out of everything, and it was early on a weekend night! Bit of a disappointment but would consider giving it another try.
N. W.
Great bar. Sunday roasts are huge and very well presented. Good for a casual drink after work at the bar or a sit down dinner.
J. T.
Really good food and great service. This gastro-pub had a very good atmosphere too. Pehaps a bit too rowdy if you are looking for a more intimate ane relaxed venue however.
J. D.
A nice atmosphere in an appealing bar, however the food is underwhelming and dishes hastily put together. Would not recommend for food
H. G.
Beautiful little bar that can really make you feel like you're in Europe/Australia in the summer. Book an upstairs spot though, it's gets super super busy!
J. D.
Great drinks here. I've been here several times. I would of given a higher vote but they treated us very poorly with no respect. I think this was just because they were a little busy and maybe stressed.
G.
The best night late bar in Clapham. Overcharge on drinks, which are average in quality. The balance is just about right, gets bustling, but you can still have an audible conversation.
M. G.
Very nice clean and modern bar with a very nice roof top terrace if you are lucky enough to get a seat. Didn't eat food here but looks rather nice for what I saw
J. C.
Great place. Gets quite busy and is very popular for weekend brunch. Good choice of food and not just the usual brunch choices.
a. b.
Great venue on a hot day. However, steer clear of the mac n cheese.....tastes like a bowl of starch and oil.
j. w.
Really friendly vibes, good food. Baby friendly, sat us at a new table to give us more room!
M. H.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service.
R. S.
Nice decor and cosy bar. Staff friendly. A nice upstairs drinking area aside from the main downstairs bar. Selection of beers wasn't bad but equally not enough craft beers.

Nice bar for drinks in Clapham old town. The place is really nice, although too small for the amount of people that it's in it after 9 pm. Drinks a little bit over priced and if you soon go in early you'll have to queue.

Love my local. Great food. Great buzz. Great staff. Can't be beaten.
N. D.
A nice chilled vibe with atmosphere even on a Sunday night.
b. m.
decent place for after work drinks. Nice terrace when its warm.
C. J.
Delicious food, cool atmosphere however I booked for 6 to have dinner and wasn't told it would be a raging nightclub right beside our table. The music was so loud we couldn't hear one another.
H. F. (.
Good for a few drinks and getting some work done. Really liked the house salad.
A. T.
Great for brunch + dog friendly
s.
The waiter was very judgy of ordering bottles of wine, when we asked for the 2nd one, he said sarcastically another already! Yes mate
J.
Good food and nice venue. Service can be slow sometimes but a great place to go in the summer due to outside seating.
M. R.
Burger was great, other food looked good too. Pretty busy on a Friday dinner time but the service was still decent.
F. d. M. A. P.
Great decor, and environment. However the food was better a couple of years ago.
R. Y.
The house burgers were to die for brioche bun painted with butter and well seasoned juicy staff. Try the Ribera del duero Damana 5 ( 5 months oak aged tempranillo) sinous and almost savoury with smoke. Sun deck upstairs essential for the first few bottles of rose.
RICHY.
G. L.
Good fun, loud bar and restaurant with good food. Showing games generally so very good for groups. Always a good option for drinks and nibbles when in the area!
B. T.
Nice little bar/restaurant with a good selection of food and drinks, a nice roof terrace and outdoor table if you can get a seat in the sunshine and friendly helpful staff, a good place to meet near Clapham Common underground station.
C. O.
Part of some of our meals were cold and pie was had too thin gravy in it. Staff are lovely and really helpful and chatty.
E. O. D.
Food was incredible. Service was excellent. Staff so friendly. Great buzz
C. P.
Stylish bar, with good food, drink selection and great service. Cosy upstairs seating area and outside terrace. Not super expensive, good date vibes.
A. O.
Expensive but worth every penny
A. C.
One of the best venues in the area! Great food and drinks, well priced to offer excellent value for money, exceptionally professional yet friendly staff, great atmosphere and decor - love it!
K. K.
It's a really great place to grab a drink. But the balcony is like a smoking chimney when it's busy. It should really be a non smoking area.
b. t.
Tried it only once for a sunday bruch with italian friends and it blew my mind! Loved it <3. We all were very happy and satisfied with the food, the place and the service.
P. S.
We've been visiting here regularly since it re-opened but just for drinks. Always good service.
K. W. P.
Lovely spot for brunch, the brunch burger was tasty and the flat white was strong and not too milky, we felt under no time pressure from staff and it was lovely on the roof deck under the umbrellas even with the changing British summer weather, the banana breakfast was a sweet and savoury delight, there is also a great selection of breakfast cocktails and beers
T. W.
Nice decor. Nice food. Shame Sean the manager is a fun sponge.
R. C.
Busy with the slightly older brand of Claphamites. Average selection of drinks. Roof terrace is good on a summer's day
K. P.
Great little place. Somewhere in between a bar and a pub feeling. The bartenders are attentive if you sit at the bar
J. M.
Nice place to have a drink on the upstairs terrace overlooking the common. Arrive early to get a table as it gets very busy when the weather is nice.
B. R.
Really great atmosphere but to be honest we spent nearly an hour waiting for two burgers - not exactly the most challenging of dishes.
q. A.
Nice and cosy and laidback.
M. M.
Good food and nice people but I would like to see more options for vegetarians on the menu. The halloumi burger was ok though.
D. M.
👍 Nice vibe.
👍 Always had amazing cocktails.
👎 Sunday roast may be disappointing.
👎 Rude security staff.
K. T.
Nice venue nice food staff ok. Slightly clostraphobic meeds re-designing give customers room to breathe.
G. N.
By far, the best place in Clapham for brakfast, brunch and drinks. It's not pleasant at all when it gets overcrowded (and it really gets!!) and you wait for your food for half an hour
J. D.
Very tasty cocktails and a lovely roof terrace overlooking the common. Perfect for a sunny summers evening.
N. F.
Great wines. Good atmosphere. Some drunk younger people at the bar on the top but generally all good.
S.
busy in the evenings and weekends extremely packed. popular with twenty somethings crowd around Clapham. nice for a visit, bit restricted for a night out
D. D.
Great local bar, with an awesome rooftop during summer. Not sure with grapefruit in an aperol spritz, but apart from that a solid venue
i. b.
Great service. The food was really good and the staff really nice and friendly
M. R.
Fab spot of brunch here today. Chilled vibe, lovely food and fantastic staff.
C. F.
Lovely restaurant/bar with a great selection of food and drinks and the staff were great!

L. H.
Tasty food from a fairly extensive menu. Friendly staff and good wine.
H. V.
A good bar, with a nice atmosphere, ideal to decamp to after a day on the common. The terrace can get very packed though
L. C.

M. S.
Great pub. Never eat there but staff on the bar super friendly. Love it
J. B.
Amazing food and very friendly staff.
A. R.
Have had excellent meals here at a reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere and staff.
S. J.
We got some nice beaujolais (Brouilly) and mussels. Super tasty and the service was on point. Will come back!
B. J.
Great pub for the sun. Staff was friendly, security was a bit aggressive for a roof pub but all in all worth it for a pint.
A. P.
Sunday coffee by the fireplace is our new habit!
E. S.
Nice food and staff, but don't sit at the back if you go there, the tables are too close together.
N. V. R.
Great service...great food!!!
L. D.
Lovely food and serving outside when nice weather. You might want to book if you want a table
B. M.
Very nice for a sunny Sunday afternoon lunch session. Highly recommend sitting upstairs on terrace too.
N. -. K. a. C. T. B.
Lovely breakfast and brunch place. Went with a group of 7 people and a baby. Everyone was happy:)
A. M.
Found this hidden gem just walking through the neighborhood. One of the most amazing cocktails served by the friendliest bartenders who don't shy away from flirting with your female friends.
D. N.
Great food and drinks. Seemed a bit short of staff even for a Wednesday night
G. S.
Nice food
S. P.

Good atmosphere. Good food. Good wine. What more do we need?
M. F.
Great atmosphere for drinks, especially the upstairs rooftop
L. L.
Acceptable menu. Fairly good food and service. Bad hollandaise sauce but fantastic bacon.
H. M.
Good venue for casual drinks and bar food in a good location but service could be improved.
I. N.
Tiny place with no room to move, absolutely packed and took nearly an hour to get a drink. Why put a bar in the middle of a tiny room?
L. D.
Gets extremely busy, but they make a great cocktail, so worth stopping by.
H. A.
Nice enough, standard prices of drinks for London, but nice setting, and decent service
D.
Great for drinks but worth booking a table as it gets understandably busy
D. B.
Beautiful place, top quality good, exceptional service. A lovely lunch only spoiled by the company.

Great food ..took us abit of time to get our bill..
R. C.
If you are on Tinder, you will inevitably end up here at some point. Nice bar, beer and snacks were good.
C. B.
Beautiful place but pricey, especially since the food isn't that high end, and the service was pretty slow, especially for drinks.
T. C.
Great place with great food. The terrace upstairs is top notch on a sunny day.
P. C.
Great wine selection and fab menu... always great service adore this place.
