What a amazing venue! I've been here a couple of times now (I enjoyed it so much after the first time I had to return) The first time was a dinner with the girls and the second time was Sunday lunch with my partner and our friends. On both occasions the food and drinks have been amazing! I was cheeky enough to ask for a drink which isn't on the menu which the staff where more than happy to make. (so I ordered two) I'm now trying to arrange my third visit =)

We had an annual old friends' dinner down in London at Knowhere Special. It was unanimously voted as the best of all our dinners we had had over the years - everyone of the group loved it! The food was amazing, delicious, plentiful and beautifully cooked, the service was incredible, the music was excellent, the atmosphere vibrant and Covid regulations were always followed by the staff. We felt Knowhere Special had taken great care of us and given us a really Very Special experience!! Thank you Knowhere Special - we hope to be back for our annual reunion next year!

What a fantastic venue! We went for food and drinks last night. Shawn was an amazing host, regularly checking in to see if we wanted anything, the food was to die for. We had 8 plates between 5 of us and had little left afterwards. Cocktails were unique and delightful, I would recommend the "Park bench" not just because it comes with its own sausage roll with the sausage meat made fresh on site. Plenty of vegan and gluten free dishes available. Decor is very cool and eclectic. If you're meeting up with friends for a long overdue catch up or just a cheeky pint after work, KWS is a fantastic venue that you simply have to try.

I booked this pub for my Birthday/ a big Thanksgiving dinner and had the best experience! They were super responsive and accommodating to my large group including creating a Thanksgiving dinner with a veggie option that was not on the original menu. The venue itself is gorgeous and the food was amazing! My friends all had a really great time and we'll likely book the same again next year :) Highly recommend!

I hosted my 30th birthday at Knowhere Special and I could not have asked for a better experience. The party was awesome, everyone had an amazing time, the venue is beautiful and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Special shout out to Beth who organised everything for me and made it all so easy. Looking forward to stopping by again for drinks and a roast some time! This is a lovely, quiet pub, with amazing food and fantastic music (if you're into classic rock, at least). The staff was super friendly, they also gave us a cocktail on the house when they asked us to move to a different table. It takes a while to get there from the station on foot, but it's worth it and makes so it's less crowded than your average pub

I reserved the space downstairs for my 30th birthday and it was such a beautiful venue!! Really helpful staff from start to finish. The cocktails were delicious ( i recommend the espresso martini!) and the food was gorgeous too. Exceeded my expectations, thank you so much!

Took Mum here for mother's day, the staff were very friendly but the food was a bit disappointing considering its £19.50 for a roast, you would think that it would be banging, sadly very average. I had pulled pork with crackling, the crackling looked and tasted like it had come out of a bag of pork crackling puffs, the rest of the food was okay but not great, and should have been served much hotter. Don't get me started on the price of 1 litre of house wine £30.00, (seriously) that's really expensive. I would pop in again for a pint @ £5.70 but sadly I wouldn't recommend you to friends or family. I've had much better Sunday roasts in other local pubs and for less than £19.50

Usually, I have a five star experience at this place. The staff have generally been extremely friendly, the food is great, and I love the beer selection. I often bring friends and ‘out-of-towners’ for a drink in the garden. Unfortunately, when I ordered a ham and cheese croissant this morning, not only did it literally take 25mins to make, but when I asked the chef how he was getting on, I was greeted with quite an aggressive response. Was actually quite intimidating, if I’m honest. Not what you need from your local boozer at 9am. I then got home to a black croissant, which was sound (not the first time I’ve received a burnt croissant from them. I feel like perhaps there’s a solution to the long turnaround time in there somewhere…) Such a shame. This bloke has really let the team down. Pub - 5* Chef ol boy - 1* Average - 3*

Just want to say a huge thanks to Beth, Dorian, Patrick and team for their spectacular service for my birthday lunch last Sunday! I hired out the Gallery Room for 20 odd people and it ran so smoothly - even being allowed to plug into their TV system in the room. The logistics for organising roast dinner for 20 people is quite a feat but thanks to the whole team they did not get a single order wrong (even with last minute cancellations from our side!). The whole team were so friendly and accommodating and the roast itself was delicious. I will definitely be recommending to my friends!

We had dinner here in December with friends. The transformation of the old pub is amazing and the staff where all fantastic. The venue is big with multiple rooms but feels cozy. Lots of seats and plants. The food was simply amazing and the cocktails are delicious. We have also had takeaway twice and it's been the same standard - this is our fav new place in Angel and Old Street area. Cannot wait until we are allowed out again and we can become regulars!!

I admit I would leave a 4 for the cocktails which are great in terms of taste but a bit low on alcohol BUT the food we have was a simple cheese plate and gosh it was bad and they should not serve that. First, it was melted cheese and had no taste. Second it was awfully expensive for it. It was mentioned to the waitress and despite a 88£ bill, no commercial gesture was made. I am afraid it is not a bad place to go but not a great place either. As a side note, the place is covered ie. Great for rainy days, and the music was good.

Absolutely love this place, such a hidden gem in Kentish Town. People I bring for the first time always thoroughly enjoy the unique setting and experience. We celebrated our wedding here last night in the Gallery room and it was excellent. The staff were amazing and attentive, food was delicious and the range of drinks very impressive. For 30 people the room was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Email comms could be better and the speaker for music died halfway through so maybe bring your own but overall was a real delight. Thanks to the amazing team of bartenders and wait staff for making it extra special!

This place was perfect for Friday night cocktails and a meal with friends. We worked our way through a considerable portion of the menu, and there’s something that will suit everyone on there, both food and cocktail. The Knowhere Negroni Spritz was amazing, personally, but there were some “return again” favourites from the group. The food was amazing - I would definitely rate the braised lamb belly, crawfish Mac n cheese, and brisket croquettes as standouts but the cauliflower three ways was also amazing! The girls I was with weren’t mushroom fans but I’ll be returning for those! Outside is a lovely space, and walking through inside, I can’t wait to return when we’re allowed. Overall it is a nice place, didn't met pretty friendly staff though. Maybe didn't have mood 🤷‍♀️ I take sometimes coffee in here and almond croissants, which are good. Today I placed a booking to dine in, the booking wasn't in a system. However, the table was set for me after a while. I've ordered a rabbit for the starter which was great. I thought I'm ordering the main course, but the waitress serving me was in such rush, because the kitchen was closing even didn't explain me, that the menu doesn't contain of main course, until her college told me when I was leaving. I was waiting one thing, and came another chicken with corn which was over cooked and dry. As a result I'm not satisfied that paid the service charge and nobody was interested how was everything. I understand guys want home but thats not professional. So 3 stars.

Went in to check out my new local as I saw from the menu they had Verdant on tap (one of my favourites). I asked a staff member if they do takeaway pints and was given a very blunt and grumpy 'no'. It was a shame not to get a smile or a 'sorry'. I understand if they don't do takeaways but I definitely won't be going back after being greeted with that attitude.

Such a great bar pre-COVID (tasteful and quirky decor in an intimate setting, free nachos, great music, flavoursome cocktails, cocktails paired with food like bagels or a mini-Eton mess) and still a great bar during COVID. They offer extremely well-packaged takeaway drinks which come with everything you need to make your drinks at home (including ice and garnish). They had a few days of chairs/tables outside but I imagine this will stop as the weather gets colder. Everyone who works here comes across so well, they are such nice people and v good bartenders. Can't wait to go back once it opens fully, it's a real local gem. Somewhere you'd take friends/dates you want to impress.

Hands down one of my favourite spots for a cocktail in London. Innovative and delicious cocktail specials, and a full menu of traditional and more obscure drinks as well. The name of this place is completely off, as this place is extraordinarily special. Myself and my business partners travel extensively and we seek out great craft cocktail places and speakeasies. The day prior we had been in Kentucky at a bar that over 2500 bourbons. We do some research and routinely seek out the best places a city has to check them out. We were up the street at another location and we checked to see what else was in the area and we found this place. Slightly challenging to find - but its not that hard. Its a great space, although a bit small but we loved it. You will definitely require a booking. We got very lucky and got seated at the bar. If you can't get those seats, see if you can grab a table close to the bar you will enjoy the show. We got very lucky that Ash was the bartender (and owner) and he was a pure joy to watch. They have a list of the current cocktails and they can make pretty much anything else. Their cocktails are incredible, extremely well thought out and innovative. The bartender never looked at a menu once and these were not simple cocktails - it proves they are true professionals. We have quite a bit of tasting experience and these were in the top cocktails we have had worldwide. This place also pairs some small plates with their cocktails and the pairings were divine. They are unique but they really work well together. The staff was all top notch and very friendly and had a great time with all of them. But the stars are the cocktails and the bar staff. They worked so well together and like I said a joy to watch. They enjoy their craft and it shows. We loved our discussion with all of them and they were eager to talk cocktails. We hate to post this review as the place was already crowded, and we really want to get some seats when we go back.

Amazing hidden gem. I kind of don't want to review it so that it can stay quiet. When you first walk in it's through an innocuous little door and down a couple of flights of rickety stairs with painted walls. I got the impression it might have been a tattoo parlour or a hookah lounge. Once you get in, it's a really cosy classy venue, great mood lighting, warm, nice decor. LOVE the private nooks with curtains and cushions. The staff are just a treat. They really want to get to know you and what you desire. They take the time to explain what it is you're getting and if there is anything special about the drink you're ordering. Two of them had similar facial hair and after a few drinks it got a little confusing but oh my god they are so nice. The drinks menu is really cool! They have 9 drink-with-nibble specials which are perfectly paired. I can't even. Then they have their classics menu with all the cocktails you can think of. It's pricey, but contrary to the majority of London, here you do actually get the value you paid for. Really impressed.

Contrary to it's misleading title, this place is special. Head down a narrow corridor and down the stairs at the back to enter a new experience for enjoying your evening drink. If you want to feel comfortable and have a drink made and served by people who actually enjoy what they do, and enjoy that you enjoy that they enjoy what they do, then this is most definitely the place for you. Not only does this place make some delicious cocktails their customer serves beats any other bar in Kentish Town! Me and my girlfriend was making our way to see Sticky Fingers at the o2 that evening, sadly due to a rubbish ticket supplier we didn’t get in and out tickets were refunded an hour before the gig. From the pure kindness of the manger and bartender that evening, he managed to sort us 2 standing tickets for £40 cheaper then we brought our original tickets!! This honestly turned our evening around we was so executed to see this band and thankfully to this bar we ended up going! We can’t thank you enough guys! You made our evening!! Me and my wife have visited many cocktail bars in London and this is by far the daddy of them all. Cocktails as they should taste, lovely staff, awesome music playlists, attention to detail. A local to us, a gem for everyone.

Knowhere Special is a great and not very well kept secret in the Kentish Town area of London. It's a basement bar with a chic, bohemian interior and comfortable seating. You walk down two flights of stairs and will be greeted by a small room and friendly staff that introduce themselves and ask you about whether you've visited previously. They specialise in cocktails but be prepared to pay a premium. This is to be expected at a place like this but I definitely think it's worth paying just to experience the place. It's ideal for a date too, I took a girl to Knowhere Special and we had a blast. If you want to guarantee a spot, be sure to email ahead of time though since this isn't a huge place and it's likely to get full easily - especially on weekends. The drinks were nice and although I didn't sample the food, the place seems to ooze with quality. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again, the dim, chilled out vibe is perfect for a cosy get together with a friend. I wouldn't recommend it for big group activities but if you're looking for a place to sit down and have a one-on-one, Knowhere Special is perfect.
