A great local pub tucked away on Holywell road in Shoreditch. Excellent beer and a good pub menu. All very welcoming. A fine place to call in for a beer.

Great local pub that is welcoming to people from all walks of life. Great drink selection although for whatever reason no cask beer on when I visited. Very traditional feel. Good bar staff. Reasonable prices for food. Nothing fancy on the menu. Worth heading down the side street for.

This pub is the antidote to hen parties and gimmicky bars. I would rather less people know about it but gotta give these guys the great review they deserve. Friendly, chilled staff. Obliged us with putting the football and Eurovision on the telly. Proprietor even instructed us where we should stand to catch the sunshine outside and not be bothering other businesses. My new favourite pub.

Amazing little hidden gem! Was staying at a hotel around the corner and stumbled upon old Kings head. Came for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Myself and sister had the Big English breakfast and it was delicious. £8 for a massive breakie with a cuppa t or coffee. Bloomin bargain. The owners both very friendly and accommodating. Will defo return and recommend to friends if in the area.

🚇 Old Street 🍺 £5.00 Camden Hells 🍔🍟 £7.00 ❤️ The Old Kings Head is located in the backstreets of Shoreditch about a ten minute walk from Old Street station. This is a good size traditional corner boozer with no frills or gimmicks. The beer was good and the food is very reasonably priced, they are open from 8am for those in search of a full english. The atmosphere was lively on this busy Tuesday evening with plenty of office workers enjoying an after work drink. Billy Ocean (Caribbean Queen) was playing in the background which brought a smile to my face as it reminded me of being at a school disco but cemented the fact that this was a pub which didn’t need to change the formula of pubs of old. . Really enjoyed my visit here and to top it off there was a cool pub cat too. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 20/02/18

Was staying in the area and found this little gem. Stopped in for breakfast the morning we were going home and was not disappointed. Big English breakfast and a great cuppa tea for £8. Proper East End pub - complete with pub cat (Sally) perched on her own bar stool! Definitely more of a community feel! Tucked away from many of the other Shoreditch pubs, this place offers a great range of ales and local craft beers at better prices than its competitors. Food is traditional pub grub but looks very good. And, again, at a more reasonable price. Personally I found the service to be friendly and efficient. Shall be back!

This is a nice little place in the middle of beardy Shoreditch. It's off the beaten path compared to most other drinking establishments that get frequented, but that's not to say it doesn't get busy. There are a few things going for it that you don't normally get around the area.... It has an outside area with some tables and seating, so great for a sunny day. Plus the road that it's on isn't *that* busy, so you can have a conversation without raising your voice. The food here is CHEAP. Standard pub fare... Fish finger sandwiches, burgers, steak sandwiches etc. All around the £5 - 7 mark and they all come with fries. The drinks are cheap relatively speaking too. So it's not a bad place to go for a Friday work lunch, or drinks in the evening and maybe getting a bite to eat after that second (or third, or...) drink

The Old Kings Head is a real gem! It’s a genuine family business and the friendliest pub in Shoreditch. It’s so cosy in winter with the fire. Great selection of ales and delicious homemade food.

Good old fashioned boozer... but with better service and friendlier atmosphere. Lunch menu is decent. All the classics, big portions and decent quality. I'm a big fan of the Ham, Egg and Chips served with 2 big hunks of fresh white buttered bread. Perfect friday lunchtime hangover cure! And its less than a fiver!

Guinness poorly poured by a barmaid who absolutely hated having to serve a customer. She plopped the Guinness down on the bar, spilling a quarter down the side. Poor service if you ask me. No good for a quiet pint after work on a Friday as they are playing loud 'club bangers'. I can't hear myself think. Not for me. But I hear the food is good.

This pub offers a quite large selection of drinks - ales, lagers and even some fine high-class wine bottles. The food is pretty standard for a pub and really nothing special but I don't go at King's Head to eat, I go to drink. The place is great and all the people chit-chating around make up for a comfortable, a bit noisy atmosphere. I like it.

Almost 4 stars. Nice selection of ale and beer. But small and lack of outdoor space means lots of people standing around outside in sunny weather, guess that is a good and bad thing depending on what you want. Only a five minute walk from Liverpool station so worth popping in if you need something to do before a train journey.

A hidden gem and the best pub in South Shoreditch! I have been visiting this pub for over 5 years now and still love doing so. Friendly staff, great locals (Me!), plus the cheapest and best beers in the area. I must say, that in all that time, I have never seen any one complain about cat hair in their food, mainly because it does not happen! In fact 99.999% of people like Sally (The cat) sitting on the bar, I am surprised she has not already got her own Facebook page with the amount of pictures people take of her. To me it adds a touch of homeliness that most pubs or bars never have. A recommended venue if you are trapped in the Bermuda triangle between Old Street, Moorgate and Liverpool Street.

Excellent pub sandwiched between the City and Shoreditch - with not too much of either influencing it. It is very popular later in the week with most of the clientele spilling out onto the road. As a result it can get a bit crowded inside if it's raining! Friendly staff and a large selection of drinks with a really good breakfast and lunch food selection.
