Reviews of Plumbers Arms
A. J.
A gorgeous pub that serves with respect, delicious pints of ale. Myself I had the fireside. You know the pipes are cleaned daily when you feel like actually eating the pint
B. B.
It's a tidy old school boozer. Has beer. On tap. Crisps. Can stand outside, inside perhaps even a table. It's clean, good vibe, no complaints. Three stars, cause well, it's just a good three star boozer and sometimes that's just what you want.
C. B. K.
Sterling service amid these strange times a few weeks ago. We had a lovely leaving do here. Love that they’ve kept most of the decor and traditional pub feel.
We had some food platters and loved the chicken wings! Perfectly cooked with a variety of sauces to choose from.
Good selection of drinks available.
Thanks for the good job team! Happy to return again 😊
Sorry forgot to take photos.
G.
Friendy staff, nice pub. Good beer.
J. B.
Popped in on a Thursday, they had a live music night on creating a great atmosphere. Ash made us feel very welcome and provided excellent service.
A hidden gem amongst the beautiful settings of Belgravia
B. H.
Lovely pub, conveniently close to Victoria Station down a side street with space outside. There's a nice room upstairs that can comfortably accommodate around 15 people if you want to have a little party. Staff and manager are very friendly. We had a lovely gathering there after restrictions were lifted, unfortunately we drank them dry of Jägermeister that night 😂
B. B.
One of the best pubs around town! The perfect after work place…great staff who take care of their regulars, all around enjoyable time.
D. L.
Good selection of beers, friendly staff, a little too crowded for my liking but I guess that means it's a victim of its own success on a Friday night.
T. B.
Great food and good atmosphere 👌
Call before you set off there at weekends as it may be closed and may not serve food!
I. C.
Very decent proper pub. Great atmosphere.
B. F. h.
Really nice pub not far from Victoria Really nice helpful staff a favourite of the legendary Lord Lucan would recommend
V.
Very nice pub. I had a good time and I will be back soon.
C. M.
Went in on a quiet Monday night with a few friends and we had some great service from the staff behind the bar. Will be back for sure in the new year 😁
A. R.
Lovely pub, and for it's location is very reasonably priced!
m. h.
Nice pub, looked after this lot no problems 👍
A. S.
Lovely and friendly pub. Will definitely come back when back in the area
G. R.
Nice pub with good beer and gin selection. Abbot Ale was spectacular. Good choice of gin and fevertree (and others) tonics plus garnish. Staff were attentive.
M. D.
Great pub for after work drinks!
C. J. G.
Small but cosy pub behind Victoria. Decent beer and great gin range. Food good too.
T. S.
Good selection of beer, friendly staff, amazing food!
V. T.
Great service and atmosphere. Lovely little gem of a pub. Staff were lovely
A. v. C.
The Plumbers Arms was an all right place. Felt vaguely rustic for a chain pub, which was nice. I wasn't too much of a fan of the food, given how good pub grub has become over the years, but the bar staff was friendly and the beer was cold.
J. G.
What a lovely pub Great staff good to see a Welsh manger in London, good selection of drinks and the food omg is lovely highly recommended
h. h.
Not a great pub sadly. Limited beer range (no decent IPAs 😫😫, first choice was well off which didn't seem to surprise or embarass the staff and there weren't enough staff on. Decor was OK, location fantastic but overall another example of Greene King wasting an opportunity.
R.
A traditional pub with a small area of outside drinking to the front. Good for pints of beer. Felt a bit dated inside and whilst good for a pint or two it's not a place I'd want to spend a whole evening. No dancing or loud music at this venue. Nice if in Victoria and you want to get away from commuters.
J. M.
Quite nice , although when I went they only had one ale on tap , the rest had run out , and to be honest the beer didn't taste that great, possibly end of a barrel or not stored right. Also when I asked about food at 930pm they said they had stopped serving food at 930pm! We eventually persuaded them to do food as it said on the website they they take orders until 10pm and we were in the event room upstairs. The event room lacked a bit of atmosphere , food was ok to good pub food .
A.
Beautiful pub😊 staff very friendly 😍
D. D.
This is a smashing little pub with a great history. Remember Lord Lucan? This is a very old pub and all the staff were very friendly. The food is your usual pub grub which is ideal if you just want to eat without all the fancy expensive stuff and it's not overly priced either. Character which ever way you look.
R. M.
Great little place, stepped quickly for a drink and I should apologise as we booked a table for dinner but couldn't make it in time. Friendly member of staff. Shame about having to searching through folder for gluten free options, not good enough otherwise would have given 4 out of 5 stars.
M. G.
Food was phenomenal! Service was OK! MANAGER Ashley was VERY RUDE! We were sitting at a table and already ordered our food, and at 1650, before we got anything, he slapped a piece of paper on our table that said the table was reserved for 1700, NEVER saying a word or apologizing, so, we either had to sit next to the bathroom door, or go upstairs to another room. We would have walked out, but they charge for the food as soon as you order.
N. W.
A great pub with evry friendly staff and the food is very good. A good variety of beers and also the possibility to drink outside until 9.30pm on a weeknight. although on a Thursday and Friday night it can get very busy with office workers by 10 pm it is quiet enough to also enjoy a calm evening.
C. S.
beer brought up with gas.
Not going back
D. H.
This is a good decent pub... I think other reviewers have it spot on; come for a beer and you'll be happy. The food isn't anything to write home about but it does feel like a pub. It has links with Lady Lucan, who apparently escaped here after her husband allegedly murdered the family nanny. I tend to use it as a first stop for a pint after arriving in Victoria or a good place to end the evening before the last train.
D. N.
Seemed ok. Not too local. Transient tourists were prevalent when I popped in for a pint. Good old boozer trying to stay relevant in a modern era. Would have loved to have had one in there during its hey day though. Amazing neighbourhood and one can only imagine. Good for a swift one. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go again. Small groups ok. Party on
D. B.
Great place. Rothschild Giraffes sanctuary trying to re-introduce this endangered species into the wild. You can feed the animals and learn a lot about the project, giraffes in generals and challenges they are facing. Food for animals is provided and you get to take some amazing photos. Fairly pricey at 1500 but all that money goes to right place.
A. G.
Good traditional pub. Outside drinking OK. Has a bit of history bec Lord Lucan (the guy who disappeared after things went wrong and he murdered his nanny) had a house v close to the pub..
A. C.
Famed for being the pub which Lady Lucan ran to after finding the Nannie's body. It is quite small with a reasonable selection of ales and lagers. It serves food and can get quite crowded during the "office lunchtime" period.
M. H.
Went here for beer and pub food on Thursday evening with two friends. We ordered the fish and chips and some beers.
The food was definitely low quality -- guess that should be expected from a pub. The environment was inviting though.
E. H.
A lovely place with a little local history via Lord Lucan, staff are very friendly, though often managing a couple different things at once. If you know the story, it adds some interest to the place, though there's nothing that really points it out to you - it feels like rather a well kept secret.
The atmosphere is very cosy, and the place has a nice old-fashioned vibe to it. This isn't a polite way of calling it stuffy, mind you! I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was here (I recommend the burritos, they go nicely with a drink).
P. H.
First visit with ex-colleagues who suggested this pub as a convenient meeting point. Apparently, frequented by Lady Lucan. Only stayed for an hour one Monday lunchtime. However, decent selection of beers and ambience.
F. H.
The Plumbers Arms is a perfect pub for a pint after work. It is on a quiet, picturesque street in Pimlico and you're allowed to enjoy your drink outside before 9:30pm. It's probably not a destination in itself, but if you find yourself in the area it is a good example of a traditional pub with a cozy, welcoming interior and has a good selection of beers on tap.
P.
This place has air conditioning, which on the day that I went with my friend proved to be a god send! Other than that, it was just your standard run of the mill pub. The surrounding area is rather pretty though with beautiful white-fronted homes.
D. M.
Interesting history... Otherwise a bit meh.... Especially lack of interesting Beers
K. M.
Typical English pub - but with some decent wine (always ask that they open a new bottle if it looks like its been sitting there for a while). Good atmosphere after work and not too snobby!
A. T.
It's a lovely little pub with a great selection of ales. The staff are super easy going and will let you try before you buy.
A. D.
A decent pub with sufficient beer selection to go there after work. Really nice service.
C. S.
On the Cask Marque Ale Trail and justifiably so. Good food also - the Loaded Burger will see you fed for the next 12 hours.
D. C.
The food and service were alright. It’s a typical bar setting with pub food. Not many options but still decent food. I wouldn’t go back but it was worth trying once.
F. E.
Usually some good beers available but often very packed around the post-work period. Edit: Sometimes they try and wrestle your pint out of your drunken hands - very surprising and unprofessional behavior!
C. S.
Not a big expert in pubs but went here a few times and the beer is good and not overcrowded and they have some extra sitting upstairs so its a nice place to grab a drink after work.
M. G.
Proper pub. Stopped in for a pint on a hot day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Drinks were cold and refreshing.
N. B.
A pub where the staff really don't want to be at work! Good lay out and great selection of beer if you don't mind a grumpy face
J. R.
Fantastic watering hole. They do a wicked leek curry that taps all the tastes buds but don't sink too many watered down pints.
E. A.
It is a small but cozy little pub. I was actually upstairs getting some ukulele classes on Mondays
R. R.
Quiet pub on the Saturday before Xmas 2019. Connections to Lord Lucan, but he wasn't there when we were.
R. T.
A nice pub.
P. L. (.
Small charming pub on the outskirts of Belgravia. Had a quick pint before moving on for work
A. S.
Not a bad spot considering the lack of decent places to eat and drink in the area. It gets busy with office folk on weekday evenings, but it's cheap and looks British enough to appease out-of-towners.
J. L.
Standard Greene King pub. Reasonable prices, very friendly staff, good place to watch sport.
J. G.
The place is a pub. It a very, very, very good pub. Expect to go into pub and you will be happy:-) Expect more and you might be disappointed.
Btw - they have Staropramen (Czech beer) from tap:-)
G. S.
Nice little pub with good beer
R. P.
Great little local boozer. Jolly staff but queues of work crowd can be a bit too much for the average person walking into this pub in Belgravia.
s. f.
Very good fish & chips, cold beer, and friendly staff Busy post work crowd. We will visit again next time we are in London.
S. L.
Lively pub with friendly staff. Music a bit loud for general conversation but a good venue other than that.
S. K.
Pleasant enough pub. Nothing special. Famous for Lord Lucan. Good meeting place.
T. C.
Just a traditional English pub. Classic and perfect for after work drinks
C. N. R.
Nice.local pub, good beer and ale selection. Very busy Friday night's.
T. B.
Nice boozer, London prices, limited space. Vodka tasting session on when we were in, bonus!
S. B.
Standard pub fare. Here for a weekday lunch and was pretty quiet. They have screens for sport and an upstairs area for events. You can also stand outside on the street.
W. M.
Small but with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Not a cheap place, but great for a couple of quiet drinks.
S. S.
Great owner, good place to settle for a talk and have a drink. As the liquid options are plentiful.
S.
Very laid back pub, was surprised to find some Shipyard on Tap reminded me of America while in the 🇬🇧
G. W.
Nice, small place, it was quite packed after quitting time, but there was room outside to stand and drink.
R. W.
Great pub with Lord Lucan history in a great location near Victoria.
C. d. C.
It is a good pub but a tad tired looking.
A. C.
Staff friendly but burger not very good. Quiet area upstairs was nice though.
S.
Bit on the small side, and always really busy. Still a nice little pub though!
P. D.
It's a London Pub. Not much unique here, but still a great place.
X. “. W.
It's in a chain, so quality is stable but average. You can still have a good time, but don't have too much hope.
N. T.
