Reviews of Plume of Feathers
L. F.
Absolutely lovely pub. Wonderfully attentive staff and yummy burgers. We went for a birthday lunch and were well looked after.
B. B.
The food was just ok, but honestly these guys deserve 5 stars because the beer garden is beautiful and the staff are LOVELY! So worth a visit if you want to escape the busyness of Greenwich. I will definitely be back and I’d try the food again for sure just to enjoy that little hideaway and the lovely atmosphere
T. H.
Lovely old pub! Quality of the craft ale and service was excellent. We had the fish and chips which was very nice. Landlord was very friendly. Will visit again next time we are in London. T Haigh Edinburgh.
A. W.
Currently a rare thing - meeting and drinking in a pub.
Great atmosphere only dulled by Scotland losing in the Rugby.
Lovely selection of beers - think I had my first ever taste of Harvey's
D. H.
Confirming and homely pub with a nice selection of beers from multiple breweries. Nice to see an Adnams beer outside of Suffolk! Sport on TV for those who enjoy it too.
K. S.
Finally managed to get here after weeks of trying .
Well worth the wait.lovely little pub , staff really good .
Crispy roasties, excellent cauliflower cheese , Lloyd of perfect vedg .
Asked for extra gravy and horseradish , came out in a jiffy
Maybe I should not recommend as want to come back soon .
B. C.
Been going to this pub for about 50 years on and off and hardly changed much inside, cosy seats and cushioned benches all round, and real fire places. Nice garden also.
Is a typical local pub.
Beers are good, but maybe needs some newer craft beers to keep up with today's drinking habits. But all in all a friendly good pub.
A. R.
The pub quiz is pretty amusing and well presented - the quiz themes vary but are open to pretty much anyone. Prices are reasonable, service is exceptionally friendly. I would recommend this pub without hesitation!
D. M.
Great pub with big traditional feel. You could tell it was mostly local residents inside which was nice.
M. s.
Lovely friendly bar staff, excellent reasonably priced wine.. And handsome black and white resident cat! Very pretty and peaceful garden. I'll be back!
C. T.
Love this pub everytime my husband and me ome to Greenwich we come to this lovely pub it's cosy and welcoming and the food is great will.be back next summer
s. W.
Went there last Sunday for the Roast. I had the chicken and my partner had the beef. We called before we arrived and booked as it was vitality weekend was on, but we got there an hour early and there was still loads of seats. We let them know we were were early and we got our food was at the table within about 15 minutes.
The food was really good, great portions. My favorite was the roast potatoes and my partner really liked my stuffing ball and the cauliflower cheese. i think i would have liked more gravy boat to just sit on the side, but I love my food swimming and i'm sure if i had asked, it wouldn't have been an issue. Aperol Spritz was delicious and it all went down very well.
No need for a starter, atmosphere was just right and everyone seemed really friendly. Ill be back!
D. T. G.
Great pub full of character and history. Not a bad spot for a pint either.
R. A.
Really cosy pub, nice selection of good beers, great atmosphere.
M. L.
A very cosy pub with seating nestled around the bar and a back dining room. Cosy gas fire in the colder months. Usually has well kept Harvey’s Sussex Best on the pump with a couple of others. Sells itself on having a rural feel which is a fair assessment. Can get a bit crowded for drinkers or n busy nights. Would be great if the back room could be opened up for drinkers but they no doubt require the dry trade.
J. H.
Great little pub with a central bar with plenty of space for a group of people. Cheap beer and food and really friendly local staff who are polite and friendly year on year.
A. W.
Fantastic! This is a pub we have been wanting to try for a while and we were not disappointed! Warm and friendly staff!
This is a lovely, locally run, authentic British pub. The beer garden is cosy & inviting. The food is generous and of high quality. Overall, this pub offers great value for money in a prime location and I highly recommend a visit!
C. V.
Beautiful local pub with antique wood paneled interior filled with the Naval history of Greenwich. Many fascinating features including maritime art and ephemera, and a brooding portrait of Winston Churchill in the front bar. Good range of beers, which always include a few interesting craft ales from the South Coast and elsewhere. Prices more reasonable than in the centre of Greenwich.
During the winter they have large open fires to sit around. Staff are excellent and warm. We found it to be dog-friendly here — which is apt considering it’s closeness to the park.
A. G.
Full marks to friendly barman and atmosphere. Beautiful photos and wall art. Beer choice, depending on what you want, may be limited. Hence rating, but don't be put off it's a nice pub.
L. S.
Nice local bar. Dogs allowed, which makes it a nice atmosphere. Nothing around, so you'd have to want to go to this place only. There is a fireplace if you can manage a seat around it. The bar is cozy and warm, great for cold days. Pints are reasonably priced, and there is a restaurant in the back if you want a meal.
L. Y.
Friendly British pub. Nice selection on tap and variety in food menu. The California burger with added cheddar was good but not amazing. I could smell cigarette smoke from where I was sitting (indoors).
C. E.
Awesome decor ,great, food 👌
L. R.
Another excellent boozer in Greenwich.
Friendly staff.
Great food and drinks.
Extremely child friendly.
T. B.
Lovely traditional pub. Friendly service and good food reasonably priced.
T. B.
Staff were really friendly and brilliant with our 1 year old, even brought some toys over to keep him occupied, amazing service!
M. S.
A warm and welcoming pub. The Stake and kidney pie was amazing. I'm not sure if they remembered the kidney?
M. W.
OMG. Probably the best Sunday lunch I have had. Great service, friendly atmosphere and amazing food. Would recommend booking to ensure a table. We will be back again very soon.
N. S.
Probably, one of the nicest burgers at a pub I've ever had. Great atmosphere too.
T. P.
Excellent, friendly pub on the edge of Greenwich park. Top pint of Harvey's and the meals for adults and children alike were superb. Always visit the Plume when in Greenwich, never disappoints.
D. T.
A return visit after much too long. A wonderful pub that feels as though the odd pirate should wander in (perhaps they do). Hidden on a back street in downtown Greenwich, right next to the Royal Park and the Queen's House. Lovely staff to help you drink or/and eat. There is a delightful beer garden at the back. A great place for a pint, do visit.
L. W.
A better pub than most in Greenwich. Avoid the nearby tourist traps if you’d rather be served by friendly, genuine people and have a decent beer in a real glass... than fight for an outdoor table by the river before queuing for 20 minutes to purchase a £9 g&t in a plastic cup. I mean, both options are potentially enjoyable but for a more chill time and the chance to sit in their beautiful garden, I’d pick the Plume anytime. Oh, and they serve Ghost Ship low alcohol, which is one of my favourite beers of that kind.
J. B. (. P.
Lovely pub. Nice beer garden. It has a local old feel about it.... But very welcoming.
j. v.
Great pub, the chicken burger with jalapeno cream cheese was amazing
N. N.
Good beer nice food tad pricey but very nice.
C. W.
Best pint of Guinness in Greenwich. In my opinion!
J. O.
Great meal in the garden without a booking - such a treat after riding all around Greenwich unable to find a seat anywhere!
Let us store our bikes round the back as we didn’t have our locks with us - super lovely!
Nice selection of beers and yummy burgers!
Full marks on the COVID-19 protocols and ordering systems - quick, easy and painless!
🥰🌸💫🍻
b. B.
Police escort burger best burger I've had in a long time enjoyed every bite.
C. l.
Fantastic to see the pub full of customers again!
K. M.
Lovely atmosphere and made to feel welcome, good food and drink
C. S. (.
A great beer garden and lovely food! Just great for a sunny day ☀️ Dog friendly too. 🐾
D. C.
Smashing. Moderately priced, spotlessly clean. Friendly staff serving a great pint of Guinness in a charmingly retro and very comfortable bar.
D. H.
A super little back street pub, with a good selection of well kept, local(ish) beers and some really nice pub grub, the steak and kidney pie was a joy to behold. This isn't a big pub so I recommend getting there early. The staff are really helpful and very hospitable. If you're in Greenwich do not miss out on this gem.
P. C.
Lovely little pub with a great garden out the back.
E. B.
Such a great, authentic pub.
T. J.
Wonderful warm, cosy pub with great service.
K. N.
Love this little gem proper pub x great food good drinks and dog friendly what more could a girl want x
D.
Excellent Pub, great food and the staff are always so welcoming. If you're looking for a pub in Greenwich, look no further!
M. W.
Not much I can say: Great drink, great food, great staff! Well worth a visit 👍
D. G.
Great family pub with friendly staff and good food!
B. D.
Great food, great atmosphere.
H. A.
Beware the cat. This place was amazing, a hidden gem where you have lovely staff, the patrons are friendly and good food. You get a true old pub vibe that is just wonderful, not too full or empty. The right amount of people creates an atmosphere that deserves the 5 stars. If you're passing by or want to discover a true gem I would vividly recommend visiting but beware of the cat.
K. K.
Went here on Sunday afternoon for lunch and wow, what a great find! Feels like you are in the country not London, with a lovely old world feel. The back courtyard on a sunny day is amazing, with the surprise an indoor playroom too which our kids loved. Food was delicious too. Not as crazy busy as other Greenwich tourist pubs so well worth a visit.
L. F.
Nice, pretty quiet local pub. Manages to not get too rammed even on bush days and is only a short walk from the busy areas in Greenwich.
Has a nice outdoor space out back, with most tables covered with parasols so as long as your group isn't huge, you could easily sit out back even in mild rain.
Also out back is a cute little outhouse that acts as a toy shed / play room for the younger children of patrons, which was nice to see.
S. F.
One of my favourite greenwich pubs. A proper old fashioned English boozer run by a charming mother and son. Quality Ales, a great menu, and a hidden gem of a garden at the back. They also have the best barmaid in London in the form of Courtney. She should be promoted to manager!!
C. T.
Very nice traditional pub, decent size and quality lunch portions that will fill you up! Enjoyed the lovely beer garden at the back. Just by the park but off the beaten track enough to be cosy and not mobbed by tourists!
P. B.
Great traditional English pub, good food and atmosphere. With a friendly pub cat as well
G. F.
Lovely little pub with loads of Naval stuff on the walls. Good beer and the menu looked nice, although we only had chips and onion rings (they were nice and not served in anything pretentious!) nice little beer garden out back.
G. Q.
Food was super tasty and service was great. Nice traditional pub, with some lovely decor and cosiness. Tucked away so a little hard to find, if you dont know where it is, but well worth it. Very charming place and my new favourite pub in Greenwich.
P. C.
We ate a delicious roast lunch today and left feeling very well looked after. Excellent roast potatoes and beef, eye watering horseradish sauce and clever attentive service. This place is family owned, the same family for the past forty years. A big well done, you are getting it very right🙂
T. M. G.
A great little pub. Friendly staff, great food, slightly hidden location. Highly recommended.
R. O.
Nice, traditional pub on the edge of Greenwich Park.
Good beers and wines and The food looked decent.
Pukka, beer garden, it even has a kids play room!!
Friendly staff and customers and ideal if you're a visitor to Greenwich or a family looking for a bit of lunch.
F. L.
Fantastic traditional pub with nautical themed decor. Can't comment on the food as I've never had it, but if it's as good as the rest of the pub I'm sure it's great. Staff are friendly and there is a good variety of beers available. Perfect for an afternoon/evening beer after a roam around the park.
D. W.
Nice pub great food lovely staff recommended it
L. K.
Love this pub. Traditional, friendly and cosy. The drinks are well priced and the garden is really nice too.
A. F.
Great little local pub. Somewhat out of the way so it avoids the big groups of day trippers and tourists. Good selection of real ales on tap. Really friendly punters and barstaff. Best pub in Greenwich
T. “. B.
Very welcoming, but layout is very awkward, don't like the fact dogs are allowed in the bar where people are eating and table way too close to the women's toilets. Be nice to have a drinking side and. An eating side
S. E.
Good food and lovely staff very frienfly pub a nice place to go to eat or just for a drink.
M. H.
Found this pub on a list of Greenwich pubs and was delighted to find this neighborhood local which is slightly off the beaten track yet barely ten minutes walk from the heart of Greenwich.
The staff are very good at their job and the locals are a friendly bunch. Strongly recommended.
B. W.
Lovely pub. Very comfortable. A short walk from Greenwich Park.
J. U.
Staff friendly. Drinks to be ordered on line but no wifi. Stop serving food at 3pm on Sundays so didn't get to eat there
S. M.
Great pub with good food and outdoor area. In addition it serves Harvey's so well worth a visit if you are in Greenwich

A really delightful family run pub hidden behind Greenwich Park. Great service from James and the team. We’ll be back for that amazing Goats Cheese Salad dressing!!!!
S. J. G.
What a great little pub. The bar staff were so on it even thought it was super busy with the rugby on. Haven't been to a pub in ages where you were served so quickly and the bar staff were actually kind and so pleased to serve you. I wish all pubs were this good
J. L.
Great traditional pub in a quiet street by Greenwich park. Had a lovely Sunday roast and the staff were very accommodating. Probably best to book for Sunday lunch as it was full when I went. They were also showing the six nations rugby!
s. s.
Possibly one of the best pubs on Greenwich, serving fantastic food and drinks.
M. “. O. K.
Visited 2 October 2018
Very cosy little pub, tucked away from the beaten track but just across the road from the park. When I visited it was quite quiet with just a few locals in.
Server on duty was friendly and welcoming. Beer was well kept. Thee downside was the swarm of fruit flies that filled the air when I sat down.
Pub is very quaint and harks back to gentler times with a fireplace, Royal memorabilia on the walls and old time tunes your grandparents would approve of and the gentle tick-tock of a clock that chimes on the hour.
There's a beer garden out back and food available, I was too early on my visit as the kitchen opened at 6pm.
Worth a visit if you're looking for a traditional little pub with history and did I mention the pub cat? Saving the best for last!
L. B.
Lovely pokey pub by the park. Good selection of beverages. Exactly what you'd expect from an English pub. Small, local and cosy. Food is very good. Lovely hand cut chips. All food is hand crafted so don't expect any sloppy microwaved food. Reasonably priced for a pub of this calibre. Sat by the fire after a cold walk through the park.
H. W.
Lovely evening with party of 20+. Outside space in walled garden and more indoors as temperature dropped. Fantastic barbecue with the tastiest, most stylish fingerfood first.
Puddings were sweet mouthfuls too, so you could taste them all rather than a bowlful of one.
Staff were helpful at all stages of the planning and discreet but attentive and totally efficient on the day.
Would thoroughly recommend.
P. D.
One of the oldest pubs in London family friendly stunning decoration chill atmosphere extremely tasty food and a beautiful garden. Absolutely kind and helpful staff.
B. L.
Nice old style pub within a short hop of Greenwich park. Sunday lunches are tasty and huge and should be prebooked, though don't go there expecting much other than a roast on sundays!...the menu can be a bit limited outside of roasts on sundays. They have some decent guest ales and the pub has a small garden with pub benches. Being close to the park, they are also dog friendly.
C. S.
A real English pub, very close the national maritime museum. Good variety of beers, and nice hot food. Definitely recommend to spend some time after work. There's also a small garden outside with few benches.
M. C.
Really nice pub, very cosy and relaxed ambience with fino music or big screens. A proper pub!
Lovely and very welcoming staff.
The Sunday roast was just ok roast potatoes not edible, too hard and greasy, but vegetables really good.
Portion a bit too small though.
I’ll definitely come back to eat here at 12pm or 1pm maximin to see if the Sunday roast will be any better.
To be honest I ate at 5pm that’s why meat and potatoes were overcooked.
All in all I would recommend this lovely small pub
M. N.
Looking for an inexpensive, fast and freshly made to order burger, fries and OTT vanilla milkshake near Charing Cross...look no further than this delicious American import! Always busy for a reason! We had only 30 minutes to spare before our Convent Garden Comedy show...which is also super conveniently located steps from Charing Cross and turned to 5 Guys...and they fully delivered on our needs and expectations!!!
S. M.
A bit of a hidden gem. Old pub with a friendly atmosphere and garden. Good service and food. Thoroughly recommended
L. K.
Very occasionally smells of scampi, but this should not detract from this being a quality local pub. Carpets, wooden bar, cosy, full of unusually-dressed locals, on a nice street. Sells honey roast peanuts. There is a TV but thankfully it's not usually on, and one is left in peace to look at the large portrait of Winston Churchill.
M. M.
Warm welcoming atmosphere. Thank you James and staff of The Plume. Good selection of beers. Delicious Sunday roast, but remember to book. Tasty wine.
J. C.
Great location, close by the Maritime Museum, with a nice (but smallish) beer garden, good food and a very friendly staff. We had lunch, and while the price was high, the quality was good, and it is Greater London after all. Totally recommend visiting, if lunch in Greenwich is on your itinerary.
C. C.
Great traditional pub. Close to Greenwich Park so it’s a great place to end the walk. We tried the food and it was delish. Wish it
was our local.
M. W.
Good traditional local pub option for meeting up off the bottom corner of the park. Sunday roast was memorable, Guinness was good. Some seating outside, but more an indoor local.
C. D.
Proper pub, adjacent to Greenwich Park but just enough camouflage from the tourist trail. Well kept cask ales from South London & other breweries. Very friendly welcome for locals & visitors alike.
J. C.
Lovely quaint pub just outside Greenwich Park. A good range of food and drinks available with attentive and helpful staff. Worth a visit for an authentic London pub.
M. W.
Very friendly staff, clean, good music, you can order food here too and prices were good too 👌
H. A.
A hidden gem and one of my favourite pubs in Greenwich. While it does not have the cosmopolitan largers of the bars on Royal Hill it has resisted the trend towards becoming a bar. It remains a quintessential pub. Its not to hard to imagine the residents of Park Vista drinking here during the age of sail and the walls are decorated with nostalgic images to reinforce this.
S. E.
Nice pub, a variety of ales on. Garden out the back and road parking after 6:30pm. Friendly atmosphere and they show big sporting events when it is on terrestrial TV (such as Olympics, Euro football abs Rugby World Cup).
A. W.
This is a really comfortable place, and popular too, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for: polite attentive and friendly service, good seating, well kept beer on hand pump, open fire in the winter months, a good menu not large but offering tasty and tempting food, free wifi. What more could you ask for. And bring your dog if you want to.
F. R.
Very tasty food. We ordered sausage and mash and also a Sunday roast (chicken) and food was very fresh and was at the right temperature.
However, we waited like 1 hour when they originally said 10 minutes. We had pre-ordered while at the bar and yet it took like 20 minutes for them to serve food. Too slow for a Sunday.
M. S.
Our first visit and we was not disappointed. We are not fron the area so was unsure on what to expect. Sudnay dinner was lovely good portion sizes for adults and kids. And the cheese cake went down a treat. We will 100% be coming back. Service was great, with friendly staff happy to help. Price very reasonable. Highly reccomend
C. B.
Lovely lil pub by the park, the roast was very nice.
D.
Nice pub, very friendly staff, decent prices.
r. b.
Excellent food, the Sunday roasts are always very good. Polite and friendly atmosphere, dog friendly. Parking available outside but it's about a pound (or was it £2?) for 20 mins
L. S.
What a lovely pub , I was there for a book club evening, and it couldn't have been in a nicer place , there was no smell of stale beer when you walked in ,you got a friendly hello from the resident cat ,& the bar staff were welcoming & friendly roll on next month
L. B.
A consistently good pub for drink and food for many years, it’s run by people who care about their customers and many are local or returning I wouldn’t say it’s my local visiting roughly 6/8 times a year but the staff are always pleasant and the beer is always good
P. S.
Brilliant food, peaceful location, excellent atmosphere, make this place a destination if you’re in the area. (Prices are around £15 for food or £5 for a pint) normally busy but it has a great outdoor area.
W. J.
Nice place would definitely go again
M. A.
On a windy evening, we were searching for a fireplace. Lest, we stumbled upon a tranquil venue, the plume of feathers. They served us the stuffed of drinks. Twas a jolly evening. Dogs are better dressed than the patrons here.
Seriously the dogs wear coats. And it's a pretty affordable bar in Greenwich.
I. D.
Delicious food, very good service!
D. R.
A favourite in Greenwich, a real gem hidden away in the back streets next to the park. It’s a local pub but open to all, great prices and selection of ales available. Highly recommended.
L. W.
Excellent family run pub in the heart of Greenwich. If you're looking for a traditional British pub, you can't go wrong. The burgers are immense.
R. B.
A little slow but we were one of the first in. Food was great. One of the best pies I've ever had. Pie of the day. Fresh. My wife had a burger that was massive and really well flavoured. Daughter had child's fish that was fresh. Great meal. Definitelygo again. A******
J. W.
A traditional pub, slightly off the tourist trail. Their roast dinners are fabulous and the ale is good. A real fire and a pint nicely round off a walk through Greenwich Park.
G. B.
Favourite Greenwich pub. Works well with different types of customers all week, with well-chosen ales and good food. Friendly staff help make it feel like a proper local.
S. B.
Very friendly and helpful staff, I would describe the pub as quaint , menu is good and for me the best feature is a shed in the garden that has been turned into a play room. My 2 year old loves it
N. I.
Have been going for almost seven years, we don't spend much and the children always make a mess but they're always very welcoming. Great fish & chips and a pint of Pride, ahhhh.
a. w.
When I entered I was greeted with a smile and: "I'm sorry we don't open until twelve, you're welcome to sit and wait." So I sat by the fire and read my paper. The lady came to me and asked me which beer I wanted, Harvey's of course. The ham on my sandwich was thick and tasty with just the right amount of mustard, the salad was dressed balsamic vinegar, the side of chips was finished to perfection. I'm glad I went.
T. W.
Lovely atmosphere, very friendly, good choice of beers and food plus a charming beer garden all within a few minutes walk from central Greenwich and right next to the park.
D. P.
Amazing, old style, atmospheric. Perfect to relax after a hectic day in Canary Wharf, probably not ideal for loud evening night. Definitely worth a visit. Cute resident cat 😺
W. C.
Wonderful management and staff. Excellent service. Excellent food. Great beer. Must visit. I will definitely return. Thank You.
L. N.
Really nice and friendly pub. Sat in the garden area and kids played nicely in they children's play house which I think every pub garden needs. 😁
P. H.
Good beers and wines, nice garden at the back. Hot and cold food served in the restaurant and a quiz every Wednesday. Friendly staff. Parties catered for.
B. S. L.
Very friendly staff (we came with kids and even though the back side wasn't open they did open it for us so we could be comfortable... And also not annoy other customers with our little ones). Food was extremely good. Good value for money. Will definitely return.
P. O. T. H.
Good pint of Harvey's (well 3 really) and a good burger. Very good service. Shall come again.
E. C.
Great pub tucked away near the lower end of Greenwich Park. Recommended for a drink or two after a walk across the park with its stunning views of the City and Royal Observatory.
M. H.
Excellent service, cosy pub. Fully recommended after a walk in Greenwich Park.
p. v.
Not sure how the lady below thinks it’s not a child friendly pub? It’s a small pub that tries to accommodate everyone and it’s a delicate balancing act between keeping people old and young (sometimes very) happy. If you were the lady with the screaming baby (and I do mean screaming) who was there when I was with my mum for her birthday, I was glad that they asked you to do some placating of said child. I actually wanted to pick the child up myself, just so that you could have your meal in peace! I am not a parent but my instincts were telling me to do so. It was screaming like a banshee, so I thought better of that idea!!! If I was running this pub I’d have to bear in mind the needs of all others too.
B. L.
Great little hidden gem, I'm yet to eat here but I hear good things about the food. Nice quiet little pub
H. M.
What an English pub was meant to be. This traditional little hideaway was a perfect spot for a pint and a bite of lunch. Great staff and quaint homely atmosphere.
L. L.
Graat pub been visiting this pub about 50years on and off!! Great atmosphere and great staff!! So busy Sunday but thay coped extremely well
S. W.
Great pub, food and staff
J. A.
Amazing place, amazing food and ofcourse amazing service.
T. N.
Excellent pub, excellent staff. We were there for a 40th and they just know how to look after a party. Very good in all aspects.
S. D.
Lovely pub well situated. Nicely served ales.
Food is just about ok if your famished.
S. H.
My favourite place for a pint in Greenwich. Exceptionally well-kept Harvey's Best on tap, combined with good, honest food and loads of genuine character makes this a cracking local boozer to cherish.
F. W.
Wonderful food and drink and staff... 100 per cent recommended
D. S.
I should wrote a review as its a bit of a secret. Great little kids play room at the back of the garden. It's a proper pub and friendly staff.
T.
Very nice food, good service and lovely atmospheric
S. W.
Lovely pub with a friendly local feel. Bar staff a little inattentive.
a. r.
great pub and superb beers.
A. S.
Nice pub with a good staff.
F. M.
Great pint of Harvey's, really friendly atmosphere and decent pub food. Can't go far wrong.
J. B.
Nice and quiet - away from tourist places but very good food. Very close to the Greenwich Meridian Time Line. Everything was good including the beers.
A. M.
