Reviews of Prince Albert
k. e.
It's a lovely pub with atmosphere and a great cocktail list. Food used to be better and the current menu is definitely screaming for one or 2 healthier winter options. Service was a mess on the day of our booking even though the pub was not that busy. However, even though it was slow and chaotic, it was still a friendly service. So an extra star for that.
M. W.
Good pub right next to Battersea park! I must say the roast was a little expensive and not the best roast I've had but it was still enjoyable and you get a big plate stacked full.
We sat outside in a cute back garden/courtyard. This was in November so it was very cold. They did have heaters but they were small and way too far away from the table to really feel it at all.
The menu we were given was different from the online menu we were asked to order from which was a little confusing. There was also confusion around how to order and they got mixed up as to whether we'd already paid or not (luckily we had the receipt!)
My friend's roast came out later than the rest of ours and she was given the wrong dish when it finally did come. Oh and cutlery didn't arrive until maybe 5 mins after the food did and so, being out in the cold, the food had chilled down quite a bit already by then.
Toilets were okay but could perhaps have been better signposted. Overall I'd come back here if someone else wanted to but I wouldn't suggest it to friends myself.

They have a good Sunday roast, also the salads are good (if you mind calories).
Good beer.
Everything matched the expectations.
Very nice dehors for nice weather.
Better to reserve for the Sunday roast, we got the last table.
B. H.
We had a private function here on the first floor. Staff were extremely helpful and happy to cater to our needs and requests. We had about 35/40 people and everyone had a great time. The outside area is also really good with sufficient heaters for when it's cold. Would recommend, and likely will use again for another function
N.
Good location with a nice atmosphere, the food was good with a varied range of drinks and friendly service 👍

Cleo is the best who you can ever find in Prince Albert! Thank you for your warm welcome! I recommend this place anyone who wants to have fun! 😄
H. P.
We had a fantastic afternoon and evening in the upstairs room for our friends birthday. Rebecca and Kieran were wonderful - from entertaining the kids to topping up the glasses, nothing was too much. Would definitely recommend. Thank you! X
L. P.
Lovely place, friendly staff who are happy to supply the allergy menu. Especially GF friendly. Nicholas was very welcoming after the charity walk we completed - thank you :)
B. C.
My wife and I were walking down and Stumbled upon this place. It was very quaint place and traditional looking.
We ordered the Chicken, Ham and Leek pie and I got the steak burger. The pie was really delicious and accompanied by mash. The burger was traditional or what you’d expect but really tasty.
We’d come here again.

It was my first time eating a sunday roast and i must say it was a perfect first time. The portions were huge and the taste really good! My boyfriend had the beef roast and I the chicken and I must say they were both excellent. The chicken portion was a big bigger than the beef but the beef had a bit more flavour to it. I personally do not eat pork and the chicken one had a pork sausage that wasnt mentioned in the menu so that's the only downside i had about the experience. The service was really friendly as well, I forgot her name but the dark girl working there was such a sweetheart! Definetely hooked on british sunday roasts now and definetely will be coming back when I'm in london again.
J. V.
Lovely ambience, don’t be fooled by front house chairs and tables, there is a back yard 😍❤️ make use of it! Lovely dog statues at the front make it look even more stunning. Great customer service, very flexible and friendly people. Would love more choices for kids menu though, but overall great experience 😆💪
I. O.
Great pub just outside battersea park with delicious food. I was there on a sunday around 5pm and extremely busy! Difficult to find a seat and fully booked to eat. They wefe kind enough to allow us to eat in an hour but be prepared to stand if you go. Quick to be served in the bar and friendly staff.
Heated outside garden area which is sheltered with tables of you prefer to sit outside. We ended up sitting there as there was no space.
T. L.
Background music good. Attentive staff. Slightly better offering than your standard Young's pub.
M. L.
I met someone for a drink and service was amazing. Before my date arrived, when i went to the bathroom and left my tennis racquet on my chair outside, they looked after it thinking i had left and forgotten to take it.
E. K.
Great food and atmosphere. Real fires but staff a little bland. Outdoor seating with heaters and cover. Near battersea park so dogs welcome. All round good pub if a little expensive. But everything is I suppose.
N. L.
Very good, friendly service, no fuss with Apps etc- order at the bar. Good food at reasonable prices and nice beers. Right opposite Battersea Park which is a nice place for a walk.
g. h.
I was a guest here for a private event on Thursday and I must say the service and food was outstanding. Becky and her team made our night!
T. S.
Absolutely love Albert Pub!
Great vibe and amazing food! Mia makes sure everyone is taken care of… her sparkling touch makes a hell of a difference!
G.
Nice pub next to beautiful Battersea Park and Bridge.
Very interesting interior, lovely service and interesting local crowd from this posh area.
We didn't have occasion to try food, just have quick drink in small garden at the back of the pub.
Definitely worth visiting for pint.
R. R.
One of the best pubs I visited so far.Perfect for Sunday lunch with family and friends. Good service and delicious food.
F. S.
My pub ...my public house...best view. At sir albert since 2009...when i was stranded in london because of volcanich ash... was there 2 weeks ago ...simply love it...
S. W.
Great vibe and corner pubs are the best. Great selection of beer and food but 1 star removed for a poor choice of deserts
B. R.
High prices and slow service. But always great craic. Friendly staff.
S. W.
Long lunch with friends. Great unhurried atmosphere. Tasty starters and champagne. We enjoyed ourselves
A. S. (. R.
Had an awesome Sunday roast here. You can get beer here at 12 am. Really good experience and nice vibes with the interior. Highly recommended.
S. R.
Great pub with helpful staff who were very efficient even on a busy night!
S.
5/5. We booked a private room upstairs after the London marathon and Becky and the team were on hand to help. Thanks so much
S. B.
Good battersea pub always busy , staff have been known to be a little slow at serving apart from that it's fine
s. s.
Beautiful place with amazing stuff! Outdoor space and indoor space. All really nice!
S. R. B.
Food, music and atmosphere just amazing.
Highly recommended the sticky toffee pudding
E. M.
Very decent food and a great location with fantastic garden
A.
Great pub and friendly staff. Wine is never great, but it is a pub after all..
a. a.
Always a nice place the staff is always nice and accommodating, big thank you for dog treats too 😋
A. S.
Lovely little pub by the park. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere to unwind. Didn't have time to taste the food, but it looked and smelt delicious!
A. J.
Live the vegan burger here, great service as always, look forward to the next visit 😀
C. G.
We came here for a quick meal. Arthur and the rest of the team really took care of us. The pappardelle crab is excellent! Nice chicken liver too. We will definitely come again. Thanks
S. R.
Awesome Sunday Lunch here ! Highly recommended with a glass of 🍷red.
D. M.
Catered for us during the England football game brilliantly. Other pubs could learn from this pub's common sense approach to the covid restrictions.
G. T.
First visit to a pub since the re-opening. Great service, great food and washed down with a few cold estrella's.
Staff were super friendly and in the xmas spirit.
Battersea locals are lucky to have such a boozer.
J. E.
Prince Albert is a great British pub.. excellent food.. and pretty good selection of beers. Service is good, despite often being swamped by tourists and other continentals who don't know how to behave in a civilized environment. Would highly recommend the sharing plates, and the sides, and a great sausage roll always available!!!!
S. S.
Me and my two best friends went there for the 1st time today and it was an incredible experience. The views were wonderful, the setting was divine. We were served by a lady called Alex. She was warm, attentive, responsible and welcoming.
The food was sensational, it was served whilst piping hot, fresh and cooked beautifully.
Would recommend this in a heart beat!
P.S Would definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding!
S. H.
We really enjoy his experience (apart from our moaning child) the menu is extensive and varied. All sounded delicious. We had the ox cheek pie which was yummy and tender. Ellen our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful and playful with the kids. Often pubs don’t deliver good food but this was a winner. Highly recommend
N. M.
Dog friendly people friendly... lovely staff
C. D.
I've only been to the Prince Albert once but enjoyed my visit. I didn't want to order alcohol and wasn't sure what to get that was non alcoholic after walking in Battersea Park so I said I didn't want anything. Quietly the bartender filled up a glass with sparkling water and put in in front of me free of charge. I was so grateful and appreciative. I drank all of it quickly. I'm not sure how he knew but he just did. My husband had a pint of beer which he enjoyed.
I love that the pub is dog friendly and wish all pubs would be. What makes this pub stand apart from the rest is that the bathrooms were very clean.
D. D.
Nice pub across the street from Battersea Park. Really pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Haven't tried the food here yet, but the menu looks good. I plan to have dinner here next time I'm in London. Update: I have been here several more times since my original review and dined a couple of times. My food was excellent. I really like the experience here. Upgraded to five stars.
c. h.
Friendly staff and a cracking Sunday roast. Also love how dog friendly they are. Even in the more formal upstairs dining room. Gets very busy so booking is a must.
J. P.
Okay beer. Camden pale ale was the best on offer. Lovely location next to Battersea park. Well presented bar. Pretty nice beer garden. Just not my favourite type of clientele. But, that is not the pubs fault.
O. i.
Been here a few times for drinks, beer is good and fun atmosphere. Went for food today and was underwhelmed. While not bad, it didn't have a lot of flavour. The artichoke hearts only had 3 small hearts and lacked flavour. The triple fried chips were good but the fish was oily and batter a bit heavy... Could do better, particularly for the price.
S. H.
Arthur looked after us so well and made us feel so welcome.
S. D.
Great pub that ticks practically "all the boxes".
Wonderful atmosphere, great location next to the park.
Sometimes too many "non locals". Good food that
is much better that that in most pubs. Comforting
atmosphere. What a pub should be!
A. I.
Really nice pub. Staff were very helpful and accommodating
C. B.
We have been walking the streets and parks of South London and came across this pub after a stroll through Battersea park. Nice pub, friendly atmosphere, good beer and still in the festive spirit. People of all ages, some with families all having pub meals and enjoying company and the good ambience. Staff all friendly and always seem to be cleaning and clearing tables for the next family. We had two pints each but couldn't face more food but the fare coming out of kitchen looked like good traditional pub food.
A. S.
Ok. but under expectations. Went for a day int he park and by chance walked by the pub. It was full so we staid for lunch. Had the beef roast a few beers and the sticky toffee. While the desert was very good, the roast was not up to the price. The meat was cooked "blue" and had too much connective tissue. Atmosphere was good. I'll probably go back for a pint but not for food.
J.
Came after work, pub was pretty quiet. I was the only person at bar counter waiting.
Nobody behind bar, but one chap sitting on customer side of counter working on laptop, I assumed he was a customer.
Had a look around for staff, nobody around.
After five minutes, I asked the guy on laptop where the staff were, and he proceeded to serve me.
If I hadn't asked him, I doubt he would have engaged with me. He definitely wasn't looking up from his computer.
This was my first time here. Not a good first impressions.
Customer service aside, the pub was pleasent and my beer cold.
D. K.
Great pub had a few drinks on Saturday 20th April 2019 even though it was a really sunny bank holiday there was no problem getting served and getting sets. Food menu looked good but we didn't eat as we had booked a restaurant for later.
E. H.
Nice beer, friendly staff but Sunday lunch a let down. Expensive and quality of roast beef, pork and chicken did not match. Yorkshire puddings were cold and chewy for example. Desserts were yummy though.
A. A.
Had a great lunch here @ Prince Albert.
H. D.
Tasty fish and chips. Small portion of chips. Good service and friendly staff. Garden at the back is great on sunny day. Worth a visit if you’re near Battersea park
S. K.
Good pub, ideally placed for the park. Lovely friendly staff, a great selection of both beer and gin, with staff both knowledgeable and passionate about them both! There's a garden out back which can get pretty packed out on a bright day, as can the pub itself.
R. K.
One of the best roasts I have had in London
M. T.
Fantastic food and service. The burger is to die for and Ellen was attentive and fun. The back garden is a nice respite from the busy Battersea roads. Highly recommended.
F. C.
Went in last Sunday for a roast with the family and was very impressed with the quality of food and service! Lovely pub with a brilliant atmosphere made even better by the superb staff who were really friendly and efficient - will definitely be returning.
F. G.
Went to this pub for lunch after a walk in the Battersea Park with my children and a friend.
We were given a table upstairs with a lovely view to the park which my children really appreciated. We booked a table only a few hours before. When we got there we didn't had to wait, waitress gave us our table straight away. Although it was busy the service was great, they were very helpful with my demanding children.
The menu has some good options, l specifically liked the starts. But we all had burgers which was delish! There is also a kids menu. We ordered some desserts which didn't let us down.
It's a good place for groups of friends, family, a romantic lunch/dinner or drinks only.
The pub is just across the Albert Gate (Battersea Park). When coming out from the Pub in the evening you have a lovely view to the Albert Bridge. For me it ticks all boxes!
A. M.
Food and price were great. Burger and fries were messy and tasty. They were out of fish and chips when we visited but they have many good options. Service was good and the restaurant is covered in dog wallpapers. What more could you ask for?
S. P.
The food is more imaginative than the average British pub. We were in at a quiet time so the service was quick and helpful although walking by it also often seems very very crowded. Also notable, expect to see all kinds of dogs :)
D. B.
A great place to go for a pint, 🍺 not the best place for a meal. Still, it is always full of families at the weekend and is a great place to take them. Staff are warm and welcoming. Atmosphere is upbeat and best whenever sports are on.
Location is superb – just across the road from Battersea Park and within walking distance of Chelsea & Battersea Square. I’d give it a try if you’re in the area but don’t go out of your way to get here.
O. R.
Nice pub. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Good beer selection and impressive Sunday roasts. The pub is very dog friendly... 4 stars rather than 5 because it was a bit too dog friendly for us. Dogs everywhere.
N. B.
I love this pub - there's always a great atmosphere - the food is delicious and the staff very friendly. I recently had my 40th there and rented the room upstairs which was the perfect venue and it turned out to a be great evening - I thoroughly recommend!
p. m.
One of my fav Pub, busy and buzzing place with a little sitting area at the back, a bit small and could do with a bit of love and reconfiguring. Standing outside allows you to enjoy the beautifully lit up Albert Bridge and Battersea Park. 2 Glasses of Rose wine will set you back at nearly 20 quid.
J. H.
Excellent food served by very friendly and helpful staff. Catered well for allergies and able to offer variations on the menu. Great beer and wine available and also great outdoor spaces.
C.
Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere. Very busy all of the time but handles it well and never wait too long for a drink. Excellent choice of pub if you’re thirsty after a visit to battersea Park. Food is also excellent and yummy. Good for small or big groups and they pre book areas for parties.
M.
Food, drink selection and service are not what they used to be. Fine if you’re local and just want a quick pint, but not worth the trip if you’re looking for a nice gastropub experience.
D. A.
Lovely clean place with friendly staff 👌
C. S.
Classic affordable gastropub overlooking Battersea Park. Great choice of craft beers and London brewers. Decor or menu aren't really anything innovative, but what it does, it does well. Portions are really big, sandwiches are gooey and good (braised beef and mustard particularly highlight!). The only disappointment was the twice cooked chips, which were huge and stodgy, more like roast potatoes than a crispy fry.
P. P.
Nice decor. Food was good, but not exceptional
B. “.
Another wicked pub, food, drink, atmosphere brilliant. Same old problem in that area PARKING.
I want to say thank you to your reply to my review it was most welcome. I could go on for hours about your pub but people should get out and explore for themselves and not rely on people like me, I'm from Clacton on Sea and i found your pub by exploring if it wasn't for the distance I'd be a regular. Parking is a PIG but hey we find ways round that lol. Keep up the good work will be back again. All the best
J. K.
A lovely local pub with a back garden. I did not try good but had couple of drinks - the service was very good. The place is quite popular so is usually buzzing with people. Great atmosphere.
A. B.
Beer selection was great.
Food I did not try.
Ambiance was friendly and welcoming.
Loos were clean.
Surrounding environment is one of the most beautiful park.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their offer.
K. O.
Popped in for a quick drink recently and the bar was lovely. A nice big garden with heaters and lights. Definitely be back post-lockdown!
M. W.
Excellent pub, good food and drink choices. Great crowd of a friday night, with a decent selection of music. (My only slight grumble being that one barman seemed to only serve female patrons, regardless of length of time spent at the bar. It didn't detract from the night though and the othet barstaff were great :) ) Love the Prince Albert.
A. G.
I remember the days when this pub would be packed, heaving at the seams, nowday it's much less so but it still has it's moments. £5.30 for a pint of bitter and almost double for an Apero Sprits may account for current lower trade but it's still a proper pub with a good range of beer choice and food, with friendly and helpful staff.
A. A.
Yet another pub without a decent lager. I have been coming here for years. The menu improves, the staff very pleasant but not much point in going out if all you see is bloody Estrella Damm which is overpriced and quite mediocre. Go back to Stella, you had Sagres which was fine..or try Asahi! Why is it so difficult to get a decent lager? Its the same at the Northcote.
M. M.
Best pub at the edge of Battersea Park for a bite or a beer. Family and dog friendly, fun filled in the later hours, a classic for this neiaghbourhood.
I wish they would take the beer selection more seriously. One can dream!
E. T.
Great pub. Lovely beer garden. Friendly and helpful staff with fantastic service. Highly reccomend can't wait for my next visit :)!
K. W.
Popular often crowded gastropub serving fairly decent food. The pub is a popular venue for watching sports and when a big match is on TV, it can get a little noisy.
The establishment is also popular with families with young children returning from their walks in Battersea Park. Baby strollers the size of a Fiat 500 tend to be the preferred conveyance for the children and these often clutter the aisles inside the pub.
Any suggestion that these might be parked in a slightly more considerate location is met with something of a holier-than-thou response.
J. L.
Great selection of beer and a nice atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and tried to be as knowledgable as possible about their drinks. A nice evening and not overrun by after work drinkers.
A. Y. W.
Good pub with great food and friendly staff
f.
Quiz on Tuesdays at a good level, varied questions and a nice crowd. Bar staff nice and friendly, food good. Battersea Park next door. A little pricey perhaps but typical for the area.
L. B.
A great locals pub just off the park on the corner of an intersection which can be busy. Good selection of ales and decent food. Service can be a bit slow / inefficient at the bar.
m. e.
Lovely place to have a Pint .
M. C.
Beautiful garden, food home made delicious pasta and a great service.
L. H.
Good food, friendly staff, and a nice comfortable atmosphere.
K. K.
Nice friendly local, outside seating, does food. Music but loud for my tastes but it's a matter of what you're looking for in a pub. Good available
J. M.
Good looking pub next to Battersea park. Decent beers but not that extensive a range. Seems to promise much on food but didn't quite deliver. Very quiet place.
P. B.
It is a great place. Good selection, reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere.
T. “. K.
Nice place. I came here for Sunday lunch with my kids but there were many families with small children. Good atmosphere. Will come again.
A. L.
Great pub, really good selection of beers on tap. Good sharing plates of food. Friendly staff & good service.
J. S.
Great local pub.. with a fantastic buzz and outdoor beer garden to enjoy. Highly recommended if you happen to be in the neighbourhood.
J. W.
Brilliant food (loved the burger), great selection of beers on tap. Odd music selection on a Saturday night and very loud.
P. F.
Great pub, dog friendly and nice atmosphere. Very good food.
A. J.
Lovely roast. Excellent Bloody Mary. Very good service. Tables well spaced too.
E. K.
Busy chain pub next to Battersea. Food is not special and occasionally service is slow. Burger is a safe bet here. If going during the weekends, book a table in advance.
P. C.
Good selection of beers. Serves food, but not "way gastro".
J. C.
Excellent pub & run by one of God's own children (A Yorkshire lad), very clean very friendly. Highly recommended.
K. S.
Great food - especially the homemade pies! The atmosphere and the staff truly top-notch. Above average neighborhood pub!
S. v.
Great location with views across the park. Cosy pub, decent food, service OK. As expected for the area and would recommend.
F. P.
Good service and pleasant surroundings. Premium pint price though ofc
N. W.
Lovely staff. Really nice and friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Food was good as well. Recommended
C. F.
We love this pub. Its dog friendly, food is very good , everyone is extremely friendly and always looking after us.
C. H.
Great food and beer selection, and put on a great quiz on a Sunday night. I'm new to the area and looking forward to it being my destination venue for summer river walks!
S. L.
Great food choices and nice drinks on the verge of Battersea Park. Totally delighted to find this. Staff friendly and helpful.
J. G.
Lovely venue but staff numbers always too low, takes 20 mins to get a drink when quiet, could easily solve with two extra bar staff, this is a review following 5 visits
R. Z.
Lovely atmosphere. The food is good. 5 stars for the burger, only 2 for the fish n chips (oily and bland in taste)
U. M.
Friendly staff, good food and great beer
K. W.
Nice friendly place...welcomed as soon as I walked in...good service ..smashing fish and chips...more expensive than I'm used to but well worth it...
J. L.
Fantastic pub on the west side of Battersea Park. Bar service is fast and efficient even when they are busy (which they usually are). The food is also very good here.
D. D.
Lovely venue opposite Battersea Park. Food was tasty (burgers) and a nice selection of gin. Can't speak of much else.
D. G.
Grate pleace with garden outside, good food and nice staff
J. P.
Good beer, terrible music, rather a lot of public school chaps in sports wear. Nice bar staff. Odd crowd. Did I mention the terrible music?
J. F.
Great pub to visit after seeing Battersea park. Can be a bit hard to get served when it's busy and outside space is limited.
M. G.
Incredible food! Nice people
L. G.
1st barman that served me was lovely, shame about his colleague though who didn't seem to understand me and then tried to overcharge me. Not my favorite spot but if you need to stopgap.
M. M.
Pretty good pub but often to rammed with people to get a table. Staff are pretty nice and it's not outrageously expensive.
D. H.
Lovely corner stone facing Battersea Park entrance.
Very busy when me and my party arrived but no delay on service and food.
Excellent experience
J. W.
Decent boozer younger crowd. Was rammed on a late Sunday afternoon. Very handy for a pint if you've been rambling around Battersea Park.
R. W.
Only went in for beer, but food looked good as it was coming out. Beer (Youngs Bitter) was well kept and from a good selection
A. E. (.
We had good fish and chips, and pork roast. The toffee pudding with banana was delicious!
R. E.
Great atmosphere, especially if around the Battersea Park area. Good Food and wish it was closer to where I lived
S. C.
The pork belly meal OMG! I also loved how they welcome your canine friends in their establishment. I would definitely go back!
N. B.
Barman was perplexed after I asked for a pint of water, you know, the stuff that comes out of the tap... Got there in the end though and it kept me hydrated through this dry January
P. T.
Great food and atmosphere

I used to come here before long time a go...it was very good...my esperience today is not..the only ting good was the malbec wine..not impressed at all about the sunday roast...the beff was not tender and the gravy watery..
