Reviews of Scarfes Bar
J. H.
Had the most incredible experience here last night. The staff and service was absolutely fantastic and the cocktail list was interesting and well thought out. When you scan the QR code on the menu, you answer a few questions and it pairs you to a cocktail that matches your personality. Ours were absolutely wonderful and had such nice combinations of flavours. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and every bartender was kind, friendly and made us feel very at home. Probably our best experience at a bar in London so far and we would definitely recommend a visit here! We will definitely return too. :)
C. G.
Finally was able to visit Scarfes for my birthday, an absolute bucket list must for any cocktail fan.
An absolutely beautiful bar, amazing menu and equally brilliant ambiance.
The music throughout the night was amazing and always on perfect. Will definitely return again on a Friday or Saturday for the live music.
Drinks were absolutely perfect and very imaginative. Definitely recommend being adventurous and getting something you wouldn't normally.
Just overall amazing, an absolute must visit.
If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

My favourite go to lounge bar in London. Central location. Fantastic ambience snd decor. Very stylish rustic furniture. Relaxed atmosphere with open fireplace.
Extensive drinks menu with tea available. Very friendly waiting staff. New uniform of tartan trousers- very stylish.
Easy to book in advance. Opens from 4pm. No time limit to the duration that you can stay. Easily some of the best bathrooms/washrooms in London.
J. N.
Killer live jazz band, and amazing drinks to matched the decadent atmosphere/bar. What more could you want, especially for a mid-week tipple!
Also: try their unique Cocktail bar, where you get to choose your drink by “feel” or “ways of thinking”. Sure to get conversations going ;).
R. K.
Amazing atmosphere, especially in the evening with the live music. Cocktails were delicious, albeit very expensive! Definitely worth one drink and we didn’t feel rushed even though it was a Friday evening. There was no skimping on the nibbles, olives and nuts replenished frequently. Loved the caricature theme. Will be back for a near future special occasion.
H. W.
Amazing bar, fantastic atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and great staff. The music was wonderful too when we visited (thank you Kitty and Nick!)
L. H.
I came on a Saturday evening. Would recommend coming before 5:30 pm as the place does get packed after about 7pm. They don't take reservations so come early to avoid waiting in queue. Delicious cocktails, wonderful ambience and attentive service. Will definitely come again!
D. P.
Still as wonderful as I remember. The cocktails are always great, the atmosphere busy but relaxed, the decor to die for. Very attentive staff and great live music. One of London’s gems!
P. G. S.
London classic. One of my personal favourites.
The drinks, the lighting, the live music and the amazing service are unparalleled.
I highly recommend going there for a date but don't plan it. Just drop by.
Prices are in the higher range but it's worth every penny and it's part of the experience.
A. H.
Top place, good atmosphere, excellent selection of drinks, good serving and live music
R. S.
Amazing experience as always at the Rosewood. Great for cosy dates where you want to impress and for catching up with loved ones. Service is consistently smooth and attentive. Well worth visiting simply for the atmosphere and setting alone. Try to go when there is live jazz music!
Drinks are on the pricier end but that comes with any upscale bar offering what Scarfes does, so well worth it for special occasions. Would say it’s great value for money.
Our waitress was incredibly informed on all the drink options, what they contained and how they were served which we really appreciated. Loved the concept of choosing a cocktail via the menu in the form of an enneagram personality test! Scarfes Bar stands out from most bars in London for it’s unique experience. We had the money honey (whisky based), suspicious lady (fruity sharp flavours but sweet enough to make it easy to drink) and the happy place!
E. A.
Had the most incredible experience here tonight for a catch-up with friends. The Rosewood bar has a fantastic ambiance, nice service and interesting and fantastic cocktails. Having tried several of the luxury hotel bars, this definitely is at the top of my list. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
D. H.
Disappointing service, visited with a group of 12 friends and the service provided by the wait staff was inattentive at best, dismissive at worst, this is a group of professionals properly dressed. Waited 20mins as the waiter decided that we all needed to order at the same time fearing we were all ordering complex cocktails, some of us just wanted a beer. Would give this a miss as no one wants to feel a burden.
N. C.
A high class bar, serving high quality drinks, at high prices! Worth the money though. The cocktails are excellent. Live mucic played occasionally.
S. D. L.
Scarfes Bar had such a lovely warm atmosphere, with it's low lighting, it's soft tones of laughter, quiet conversation, jazz music playing beautifully in the background, and to leave out how well dressed, polite and handsome the waiting staff would be tragic 😉
Fit for business and pleasure I was there on both as I discussed my brand and my book Operation Six: Matters of the Head and Heart with a friend whom I work closely with. Highly recommend 🙂
N. R.
Oh, I just fell in love with this place! Live jazz on a Saturday night. Amazing sofas and chairs and cozy nooks to chat and mingle with friends. Dark with warm lighting. The cocktails are outstanding. The whisky selection is unbelievable. And the bar team are so kind and lovely. Such an elegant spot. Truly an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to return!
T. F. T.
Great ambiance, great whiskey selection, geat service and great cocktails. They get you to choose cocktails depending on your personality and mood.
We had two cocktails and two bar snacks.
One one the cocktails is called Money Honey and has banana and tonka in it. Forgot the name of the other one but really nice too.
For snacks we had the croquettes and spicy chicken and both delicious!
G. S.
My favourite bar in London.
The drinks are at a premium but the service, atmosphere, ambience and drinks are totally worth it.
Love the bonus of live music and 1st class treatment of their customers every time I visit.
The old fashioned here is amazing
J. M.
An amazing little bar with a social club vibe and great whiskey to order, even managed to time it nicely as a jazz band started as we arrived
E. B.
One of the best bar experiences you can ever have in London. The staff is very professional as you expect at the Rosewood hotel. The cocktails and it's menu is very creative. Currently cocktail styles match with music genres.
S. K.
Amazing atmosphere and the music was just brilliant. Fall in love with the bar must visit if you love Jazz with good atmosphere
K. A.
Classy place where standards are high. Attentive staff and always ready to serve. Arranged a table for us the moment one became available and remembered we were waiting despite the busy crowd. Huge selection of whiskys and good quality wines and champagnes.
M. K.
An excellent bar with a refined ambience, nice music that is not too loud and an extensive selection of drinks. Their cocktails have quirky names as well as quirky ingredients and are in the £17-£20 range. Glasses of wine run at similar prices. The list of gins and whiskeys was very long. During our stay there was live music (piano and voice). Service was good but one of the items we ordered never materialised. We didn't chase it up and it was not included in the final bill.
All in all an excellent place for a date, a business drink or just a place to catch up with a friend. I'd come again.
s. p.
Great setting, really cleverly set out so you get a feeling of privacy in a busy bar with a luxurious vibe. Inventive and delicious cocktails, skilful service
R.
Perfect cocktails, elegant environment and really decent jazz performances every night.
I know the price here may be a bit relatively higher, compared with others in London. But if you are seeking for top level of cocktail experience, you are at the right place.
S. D.
Absolutely phenomenal! Bar staff are amazing and will make you a personalised drink. The live music on Friday and Saturday is great too. 10/10 experience
J. R.
Service, ambience, cocktails, Whisky.... Selections 👌🏻. Top Draw
C. G.
Always a pleasure going there for a drink.
It use to be our GQ, then COVID took that away. But we're back! We love the live music, the poetic atmosphere, the staff and the champagne!
Л. В.
Quite a cozy place with amazing interior, interesting cocktails and friendly Italian staff.
P. H.
Ultra posh Holborn cocktail bar. Smooth mellow and rather lovely.
M. E. J.
Excellent place to have a drink, while enjoying some good live jazz music. The atmosphere is of a different era, very cool
D. L.
One of my favourite cocktail bars in London. Think: Swanky Speakeasy. Cocktails do cost a pretty penny (you can be paying £15 - £23 for a single cocktail), but for the setting and unique flavour combinations it's worth it. Boasting warm, cosy and classy vibes with a fireplace - in central London nonetheless, it's the perfect place for an intimate date night! All the little details are so special - including the menu with its tongue-in-cheek artwork.
W. W.
Absolutely stunning bar. We visited for pre-dinner drinks on my birthday. We had a table booked but were slightly earlier so we’re given a seat at the bar. We each ordered a cocktail and were shown to our table. The drinks were expensive but the setting alone was worth it for me. Certainly not somewhere I would visit regularly purely due to the prices but will definitely be back on special occasions.
G. J. R.
Super classy bar with great live music and fancy cocktails. Best if you're on an expense account, as 22 pounds for a Cocktail is not unusual there.
S. P.
A fantastic place to enjoy a huge selection of spirits and cocktails. This isn't a cheap venue but the atmosphere is pleasent and the staff friendly. Well worth a visit if you fancy treating yourself.
A. F.
We seated near the fire and it was very very nice. Great service with many types of great whiskey. Highly recommend.
J. S.
A very pretty, well designed space. Ambience is excellent and the music on the one night that I’ve been so far, Atila (silky, Sinatra-esque), was alone worth the visit.
Cocktails are brilliant. Service is as it should be.
Cocktails are about the cost they should be, in my opinion, considering the overall experience. It’s a must go
A. S.
Very posh bar inside of the hotel. Very busy on Sat night and not easy to get in if u dont have a table booked. Atmosphere was great and live music very enjoyable. Cocktails are strong and creative but £20 on average so be ready to splash out. We also tried a few snacks. Scotch egg and haggis sliders were delicious but flat bread that looked like some sort of pizza was bland and tasteless, very disappointing. Overall nice experience.
J. S.
Easily one of the best new cocktail Bars in London, the service is immaculate, the cocktails creative, the atmosphere warm. Oh and the bad play requests 🍸🔥😉
V. T.
Excellent atmosphere, very good service and the cocktails are innovative. The design is cosy. Try to visit the rest of the great hotel.
b. s.
Lovely Vibe in here. Loved everything about it. Drinks arnt cheap but you pay for the atmosphere.
B. B.
Great live music, stunning decor inside
C. P.
This place is incredible. Great atmosphere, good service and the drinks are very different. No need to say about the awesome and funky decoration. Perfect place for business meetings. Price of cocktails vary from £17 to £26.
J.
Nice food and atmosphere, live music on Friday's, busy place, I always feel very cozy next to the big fireplace
D. C.
Wonderfully atmospheric. Great drink, talented band and nice fireplace
l.
Love this bar/lounge on the ground floor of the Rosewood Hotel. Ambience is old wordly, but classy. Cocktails are well-crafted & service is on point. Prices are on the higher side, but you pay for what you get.
A. M.
Beautiful bar, superb service, brilliant jazz and amazing cocktails.
J. J.
My favourite cocktail bar in London by a long mile; it's in a class of its own. The atmosphere, service, and drink selection are all top notch.
What sets this place apart is the live music in the evenings. Its usually jazz themed but from time to time they switch it up. One thing is certain - the musicians are always absolute quality.
Highly recommended for a special occasion or a date. But be warned: You'll pay a high premium for the experience so make sure your pockets are running deep.
Top tip. My favorite seats (request when you make the reservation) are the couches in front of the the fireplace when you're with a group of 4 to 6 people. If its just 2 of you then ask for the corner banquette just right of the fireplace.
L. C.
Really nice bar with a nice ambiance. Monday’s they have live music which makes it even better. It is on the pricey side but it is worth it. Cocktails are between £17-22
B. R.
5* bar, great service with knowledgeable bartenders and quirky yet stylish decor. Not a place to attend if on a budget!
M. F.
Who doesn't love this place. Live cocktail trio...fancy drinks....and the best characetures (sp?)
G. J.
Great bar, very classy and amazing place to people watch.
L. T.
Fantastic place. Chilled & cozy. Live jazz music & delicious cocktails. Staff attentive .
K. M.
Beautiful place. We sat next to the fireplace and had some drinks. Very relaxing and good for talking. The art on the walls is amazing
P. W.
Oh wow. What a place. Loved the ambiance. Staff were very welcoming and kept us topped up with great cocktails. Need to experience more of this place
L. M.
This bar is amazing. The live jazz was so good
N. B.
It will be busy, it can get popular in an evening . However the service , the cocktails, the art, the style are as unique as it's namesake and you should not miss out on visiting
M. C.
Great ambience and service. Cocktails are a bit on the pricey end but worth it for the nice occasion. Would recommend and go again!
M. Z.
I have mixed feelings about this place. The first time we came, we were amazed by the speciality cocktails and the service was really good. But the second time when we were really expecting the same if not better, the afternoon tea with Picasso theme was not really nice - too sweet and just sweet. The amazing cocktails we had the first time were replaced with something not so nice....And the service was lacking too - we felt constantly neglected - waited for over ten minutes just for the bills...
K. (.
Just visited the place for few drinks on last Saturday! amazing design, live music gives the place a great atmosphere. Very polite staff members. I had a very brief discussion with the Italian waiter about Scottish whisky (Monkey Shoulder), I wish I had taken his number so we could finish our conversation. :)
윤.
It is first time that i go to jazz bar in my life. jazz gives comfort and happiness to me.
K. E.
Beautiful bespoke drinks and caring service.
Without considering the stunning venue!
M. L.
Very uncommon bar I'm happy I discovered in London. The decorations are out of the ordinary, the lights are dimed enough to provide a cosy atmosphere.
A. R.
Great ambience. Attentive staff. The cocktail menus are themed and created around particular famous people. Although a little pricey, the cocktails are very delicious. The staff will create a bespoke drink based upon your likes at your request. Well worth a try if you are in the area or staying in the hotel.
V. M.
Bar has very nice atmosphere with usually a jazz band playing live. They have a good selection of cocktails, with a funky special menu for their signature cocktails. Waiters were very nice and willing to help. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is the price of the cocktails which is around £20 each (signature cocktails), and the confusion with the cocktails menu, as the one I ordered was saying light and crisp in terms of taste but on the contrary it was very strong and little hard to drink, but that was my taste.
M. G.
Very atmospheric interior and lighting. Lovely attention to detail with the theater cocktail menu, very attentive and classy staff. The cocktails sound very extravagant, with creative and different ingredients. Unfortunately the prices matched with minimum prices of 20 Pounds. Certainly not a cheap date.
K. C.
Fantastic cocktails and kind service. Very quick to be seated and got to stand at the piano while waiting. The whole cocktail list is inspired by famous British personalities, and while that's cheesy on its own the cocktails are so well executed they could be themed after cats. The menu's cleverly done as an illustrated storybook. Would happily return.
T. M.
The atmosphere is incredible, great cocktails, friendly efficient service and amazing Live Jazz Music. What's not to like.
V. P.
Nicely decorated bar, and hidden away from the main hustle and bustle. Was easy to find a table and had live music the evening we went. Waiter service is good with a range a funky and unusual and expensive cocktails. Worth a drink or two for sure.
A. J.
A great atmosphere. Nice place to chill for a drink with some friends.
S. Q.
Beautiful bar and very cool cocktail menu and drinks presentation. Lovely and very attentive bar staff too. Great for an evening cocktail in Holborn area. It also has a massive fireplace in the middle of the room and a very cozy feel. Would be especially great in the winter.
M. J.
Absolutely fine experience. A lovely...classy and elegant bar, where one can simply relax after a long day, while sipping an excellent old fashioned and listening to a live soul or jazz. Truly fantastic. My "every time in town" experience... I'll definitely come here... to relax and drink my Nikka whiskey...
S. W.
Fabulous interior. Beautiful lighting. Hard to get a seat. Overly expensive and busy cocktail list which uses fonts/font sizes that can't be read in such low light. Great live music. I love the fact they bring a constant supply of nibbles. I don't love we were charged for a G&T that the waiter spilt all over a friend as well as the replacement. Good luck in finding the toilets for the first time!
G. B.
This is one of my favourite places with the best cocktails in London ! Amazing service and atmosphere!!!
V. D.
Yesterday we've been in this amazing bar, the best cocktails, wonderful atmosphere, great location, and the best customer service we ever had, a huge thanks to Ludovico who was so helpful and kind to suggest and to explain us all the cocktails.
K. W.
Large upscale bar, part of the new Rosewood Hotel. Sumptuous interior with leather clad chairs, open fireplace and dark wood in abundance.
Great cocktails, good service, pleasant ambience. Recommended for those not on a tight budget.
T. S.
Had some good martini's and chats with strangers here. It also offers dramatic and hilarious people watching. Downside is that the service is a bit slow and hard to get someone's eye, which was really quite annoying after a while, and drinks are expensive for what they are, but would come back for a special occasion. Very beautiful setting and great pianist, too.
A. B.
Great band playing staff lovely and you have the experience of going through into the hotel for a peek at how the other half live. Great art and experience not to be missed. The drinks expensive but still worth a visit you will love the music Saturdays and Tuesdays
R. C. H.
Beautiful decor. Very comfortable. Very experienced staff who look the part. Spiffing. Made one of the best cocktails I've ever tasted. Free nibbles. Very expensive. £15 a cocktail and a tenner for a beer it a glass of wine.
c. o. t. c.
You can't have a more sophisticated bar than this. The live jazz music adds the special extra that makes this place like right out of a movie. The waiters are very professional and friendly. Went there two times. First time on a date the second time with my best friend and even as two girls going alone there we never felt displaced - when a guy tried to get uncomfortably close (since it's two girls some guys see it as an invitation) the waiter politely helped us and we had a very pleasant evening. Can only highly recommend this place.
J. K.
An incredible experience. Switched on staff providing sharp friendly professional service. Cocktails, food delicious. Magical if one is lucky enough to be there when Nick and Kitty are playing their very stylish uptempo jazz. 10/10
A. H.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Lovely aesthetic
C. K.
Wonderful atmosphere and imaginable cocktails! The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a misunderstanding about the food we ordered, so they brought the courses late, but eventually they exempted them from the bill! Overall, a must-visit place for a special night out.
N. D.
What a great bar this is. Situated in the heart of London, Scarfes is a cozy bar with the most lovely ambiance possible. They have great performers who really entertain you. Just do yourself a favor and don't get cocktails here, unless you want to pay a lot of money for a bucket of ice.
R. H.
Great cocktail bar within the Rosewood Hotel. Good selection of cocktails drinks snacks and light bites. Popular with locals hotel guests and people working in the nearby vicinity full stop the bar can get a little crowded in busy but you never feel too packed.
A. K.
Surprisingly large selection of gin and whisky. Prices are very high though. Perhaps double of any normal bar. And there is no beer on tap, just a small selection on bottle. The were a pianist playing and singing when I was there, but although he could play just fine, they really should have lowered the volume on his loud singing. I ended up leaving because of it.
M. B.
Easily one of the best bars in London. Live Jazz in the evenings and an incredible selection of themed cocktails all about London and London's Characters - From Siddiq Khan to Doctor Who! The bar itself is incredibly classy, with table service and a fire place. If you're lucky, you may even get given one of their exclusive playing cards too.
Scarfs bar is themed, steepled in history and prestige and is definitely somewhere to go to impress.
A. F.
Fancy, schmancy, feel like you’re living large, and prices that verify that you are
H.
Went into this place randomly whilst walking past with a large group, upon entering we were very promptly greeted and directed to a table, the interior of the place was amazing and very dimmley lit. We were then very promptly served with some amazing cocktail. A short while later some entertainment kicked off with a pianist and a snare drummer and it was like the icing on the cake.
S. F.
The best interior for bar in London! I love that they take care of every single detail. Sometimes there is live, romantic music. But usually very crowded and prices a bit too high.
m. p.
Very nice place, take your big wallet or purse though.
Table of 5 was £600.
Would go again with just the wife next time.
A. H.
This bar is so elegant, sophisticated and lovely that this local yokel from Texas just revels in the wonderfulness of Scarfes. (Of course the Rosewood was founded by Caroline Rose Hunt from Dallas, so it's all good.) Their bartenders are the equivalent of Michelin Stared Chefs in their creativity. My wife described types of flavors that she enjoys and they invented a drink for her that was spot on. Can’t wait to go back.
n. x.
Absolutely loved this place. It's quite price but totally worthy if you can afford it and if not it's a great place for a special night out. They have live jazz music wich paired with the classy decoracion made a great and cosy atmosphere.
B. H.
This place could have been great: book-lined walls, a roaring fire, interesting decor, and an innovative cocktail list. The service, however, lost it a star. To their credit, they were absolutely slammed. However, it was very frustrating to be told different things by different members of the staff and to watch people who arrived after we did get tables before we did. Additionally, the cocktails, interesting as they looked, were kind of underwhelming.
M. W.
Wonderful bar with great live music and a cosy atmosphere despite being very large. Funky menu but prices incredibly steep, making the bill quite eye watering.
P. &. F. G.
Fantastic way to end a fantastic night out in London.
Great bar, great service, great drinks and live Jazz (nice!). We could have stayed all night soaking it up if we weren't so tired.
B. Z.
The lounge is cozy and lovely decorated. The drink and the menu are very interesting. The only thing is that I wished they provide a little bit better service... They are really nice but not very responsive...
A. C.
Easily top 5 bars in London. Great music and ambiance. Bartender created new drinks off the menu and was highly talented and knowledgeable.
J. D.
One of my favourites to take friends. Very elegant environment. Live music a plus. Great cocktails too. Can't recommend enough.
E. O.
Love this place. Live jazz every day. Delicious cocktails for every taste. You can't pre-book a table there as it is first come first serve basis.
J. M.
Great cocktails and very good selection of spirits including bourbons and eyes. The room is quite nice but can fill up during prime hours.
A. K.
One of my favourite bars in London. Great for tea in the afternoon and of course drinks in the evening..fabulous atmosphere and decor. Music is brilliant especially the live jazz in the evenings. Highly recommended
A. P.
Absolutely beautiful stylish bar with piano music in the evening and a great selection of spirits. Very pricy but you get what you pay for. The only downside is the inattentive service that makes mistakes...
T. “. X. G.
This is a really nice bar. Beautifully fitted out and decorated with a huge range of Gerald Scarfe cartoons from across his satirical pieces through to artwork for Pink Floyd's The Wall. Lots of staff and good service. A dizzying range of gins, whiskies, cocktails and vodkas. An unimaginative and restricted selection of beers - not that I was expecting a shepherd leaning on the bar supping Theakstons!
I occasionally come here - every couple of months. I always leave having enjoyed the atmosphere (although it can get a bit too hectic for a place as smart as this), had a gin I've never tried before (will have Monkey 47 again) and feeling a bit ripped off. Only a bit. I'll be back, but regularly rather than frequently!
R. A.
Brilliant live music and ambience.
R. M.
Came to Scarfes after being extremely disappointed in the American Bar. What a breath of fresh air it was! Fantastic drinks, great atmosphere and very, very attentive and friendly staff. The best cocktail bar I have found in London, by a mile!
D. P.
Such a nice bar with great music and atmosphere. The bill was a nasty shock though, no wonder I couldn't obviously spot the prices in the menu. If money is no issue then this is a great bar worth visiting.
S. L.
Posh and stylishly luxurious! Great cocktails and amazing atmosphere. Definitely one of the best hotel bars in London!
A. L.
A fabulous hotel bar which welcomes non-residents through a dedicated entrance. Quirky art caricatures adorn the walls, cosy setting with a fireplace, quirky corners and comfy bar seating. Great Indian cuisine available at the bar and a wide selection of drinks. Live music in the evenings, including both a pianist and a live jazz band.
M. L.
The bar manager, Martin Siska, was incredibly rude, dodgy and unprofessional. Although the website specifically mentions the bar is walk in and does not take reservations, I was not allowed to sit at the only table available as it was “reserved” plus a very dodgy sounding story about giving a certain hotel guest (who clearly wasn’t there) a preference treatment which felt very shady and unprofessional to me. There was no sign on the table marking it as reserved and when I pointed this out he just told me very arrogantly that he was “the manager”. I am really displeased by this mans manners and professional attitude. He gave me the option to wait “by the piano”, where there are no seats. With my chronic back injury I cannot stand for long times and he said I might have to wait for half an hour! This man needs to learn a lot. Still giving it 3 stars as I loved all the other staff and the atmosphere is great. Just fire Martin Siska and you’ll be worth 5 stars.
D. I.
I want to start with this could have been a 5 star review, but it loses a star due to the rude nature of the doorman on Saturday evening. We visited this bar because it was a friends birthday but a friend wanted to get some cash out from an ATM, so we left and walked to the nearby Metro Bank. When we returned we found a friend outside having a cigarette and we headed back to the bar, but we were met by a rude doorman who stated the club was full. We politely explained that we had been in earlier and our friends were having a birthday party inside, the doorman said club was full. It was obvious he didn't want us in the venue and said he had been there all night but didn't remember us, I explained when we left he was too busy chatting up a group of girls instead of doing his job, I showed him a photo I took earlier that night inside which he responded that could have been taken anytime, I had to then show him the time stamp. It wasn't until he acknowledged the time stamp that he let us back inside. The venue is somewhat a bit stuffy and pints of beer cost £10, a cranberry juice is £6.75 and a glass of wine is £15. They have a decent amount of staff so you usually have 2-3 staff floating around refilling bowls of nuts or serving you more drinks. When we were there they had a live jazz band which was interesting, so this place is probably a good spot for a date but it's a bit too pretentious for my liking...
L. H.
Such a lovely evening I had. A gorgeous bar/lounge at the hotel with live jazz music. Cocktails are sublime and the waiters are really nice
y. b. (.
Fabulous place for a drink, very attentive staff lovely layout, they had a jazz trio playing who were nothing short of incredible, great place to take a date!
L. V.
Desserve to be in the top 10 cocktail bars in London, nice staff, the head bartender Yann is passionate, you can feel it in the cocktail menu. Of course it's a bit expensive but it's Luxurious Hotel Bar category.
Y.
Great bar with a very classy feel. Great service. If you are going to order a fancy cocktail, make sure you’re at the bar so you can see the bartender make it and do the show
m. c.
It was ok. The music was lovely. The staff where polite and knowledgeable about the menu. However the prices are extreme. £20 per drink is exuberant for Holborn.
B. S.
My favourite date spot and brilliant cocktails. Live music (lounge/jazz) in front of a fire place. Exceptional atmosphere. Highly recommended.
R. M.
This fine establishment is excellent for meetings during the day, light lunch and after work drinks in the Holborn area. It's not for everyone's pocket. If you are minding the pennies then it's a place for special occasions, first dates and celebrations with colleagues. A bit on the pricey side, but worth every single penny! Faultless, friendly, knowledgeable and first class service. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely evening I had. A gorgeous bar/lounge at the hotel with live jazz music. Cocktails are sublime and the waiters are.pretty hot too 😉
C.
Scarfes bar at The Rosewood Hotel is everything you want: cosy fireplace and comfy armchairs, seriously delicious cocktails and, mostly importantly, personal space - the only human you want to be squished up against on date night, is your actual date!
K. S.
Has whiskey wall with great selection. Bartenders knowledgeable and always happy to serve
A. S.
One of my favourite cocktail bars. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent drinks and good service. I love the new menu!
S. B.
Lovely spot for an indulgent winter cocktail by the fire. The cocktails are interestingly different, although won't suit everyone. Prices to be expected given the standard of hotel.
D. W.
Quite probably the best place for cocktails in all of London, the staff are very knowledgeable and there are always new things to try. The ambience is superb, relaxed, understated class.
O. A.
I am not too big on Indian food, so I did not try the food. The drinks on the other hand, were good. Sighted a few celebrities, I went during fashion week. I loved the entertainment, live band. Check out my instagram page for more reviews @aboutlastnighttt
N. T.
Always nice to come here, always have good memories from visiting this bar
B.
Would probably get 4 stars under normal circumstances; the atmosphere is buzzing, the decor classy, the cocktails excellent but at 18 quid for an Old Fashioned (including a "service charge") I can't really recommend it beyond a one-drink-for-the-experience kind of thing. Unless you're an oil sheikh or an investment banker. In which case crack on.
J. W.
Possibly my favourite bar. A refined but friendly experience.
A. F.
If you are after quality of cocktails, fabulous atmosphere, this is the place to go. Pricey but you get what you are paying for. Highly recommended.
G. C.
Fab cocktails in great atmosphere and lovely hotel bar but not cheap. Live jazz and swing/mood band on Wednesday night were excellent.
B. B.
This is the best cocktail bar in London. The bartenders are wonderful, and the special drinks are extremely great. The bartender, are the absolutely best. Attila the bartender is the best. Can be a hassle to get in though.
J. C.

Excellent atmosphere, very professional staff, attractive guests. Great music. It's becoming my late Friday night favorite, open until late.
A. D.
It's an amazing bar. The bar itself is a spectacle. We went on their Cabaret night. We enjoyed the entertainment and their cocktails. It's pricy but you would expect that when so much opulence is on display.
B. V. H.
I really like this bar, great cocktails and a nice setting. The band was not too loud so we could hear each other speak.
P. T.
I've been in Scarfes Bar couples of weeks ago and i had a wonderful time. The cocktails were stunning, the food was good and we had this amazing guy called Attila to serve and explain everything to us.Thank you very much for the great experience.!
B. L.
Very swish cocktail bar. Sometimes has live music. Extremely expensive and can be difficult to get a table. Similar vibe at the restaurant st the entrance opposite which is a good back-up.

Live music, great decor. It was such an awesome night here. Servers were very pretty, but wished they knew more about drinks or were able to better convey more adventurous drinks to the bartenders.
T. D.
When I think about a place which ticks all the boxes, the Scarfes bar come up to my mind. Definitely one of my favourite places in London for cocktails, food and atmosphere. Welcoming and trained staff will help your choice and hardly you will be disappointed.

Liquor menu hidden in the story book. Better ask the waiter for recommendation.
K. T.
One of my favourite bars in London. The old school ambience, the dark wood, the live jazz every night from 9pm....I couldn't recommend this place more.
S. N.
A good place for a large range of cocktails or a glass of wine pre or post theatre, in stylish surroundings. Loosing a star as the enthusiastic staff swiped my unfinished wine when I went to the bathroom.
