Reviews of Sherlock Holmes
Z. T.
The service was on point. I was welcomed and looked after. My meal come quickly after ordering and it was absolutely delicious. Not only was the portion size huge, it was flavoursome. The cider and cocktail I ordered was tasty as well. The atmosphere and the ambiance interesting. I would definitely recommend this pub to those who want a great meal.
S. A. (.
Nice and comfortable place specially on 1st floor, where is the restaurant. The waiter was nice and polite. In first moment was a mistake with the wine that we order, and on the end he found that the wine that we ordered was out of stock, but he recommended other that we enjoy. The food was OK but we think that need a bit changes.
A. W.
The food here is excellent and cheaper that most in the area.
The interior is very well decorated with a Sherlock Holmes theme.
I would hold off next time in alcohol drinks as just for the two of us was the cost of a meal.
We had sausage/mash and 8oz steak with two vodka and Cokes and came to £40.
Location for us was perfect with been just over the road from our hotel.
The restaurant is upstairs which is better than in the bar area if you was a proper evening meal experience.
They do have an app if you want to book a table or place your order. Look them up on Google maps where you will get the web link and contact details.
Overall we would eat here again if we return to London.
A. S.
Only stayed for one beer but all the staff were great. We took a look upstairs in the restaurant and the lad working up there was so friendly, even though we were not eating.
B. G.
This place is amazing. Food is great and a good price. Service was fantastic will definitely be going again. Some great sherlock Holmes memorabilia too.
V. S.
The food was really good, and a reasonable price for the area. The staff were helpful when it came to redeeming a gift card. The service was pretty quick. It's a shame the upstairs was closed when we went as that is more 'themed'. But I would recommend this place for a good priced drink and bite to eat.
C. A.
The restaurant upstairs is super nice and cozy. There are lots of of Sherlock Holmes related decorations. I love the food. Mac and cheese was delicious. The service is good as well.
S. F.
I brought family here while they were visiting London, and they loved it! For a pub geared to tourists, the food was actually very good. The portions were large and the prices were very fair for London. Definitely will be back soon!
J. M.
A proper boozer - a good atmosphere and traditional Sherlock Holmes themed decor. Was a little bit scruffy though. I did not eat there but other people were and the food looked decent. Prices of drinks were reasonable for the location
C. #.
While in London during a "walkabout" we spied this place. Had a GREAT time!! Other patrons were so fun but the star was the fish and chips. Soooo good. Authentic, huge and so well prepared. You want proper fish and chips go here. You will not be disappointed. I'm going back everytime I'm in London.
K. G.
Nice little pub. Was going to order food but when we were online about 70% of the menu wasn't available. Did go back the following day for another drink. And people were eating and the food looked good.
T. O.
Great little pub in Central London. Service was very quick and they had a nice range of beers including a 'house beer'. This was unfortunately unavailable when I went. The pub has outdoor and indoor seating. All the staff were helpful and I hope to return next time I am in that part of town.
D. B.
A lovely little olde worlde pub. We enjoyed the Sherlock Homes exhibition upstairs.we will be back again the next time we are in London!!
S. O.
Very atmospheric pub, great service! The Sherlock Ale is very good! Lots of Holmes memorabilia on display!
R. R.
PIzza wasn’t expected here, nor should it be. There is a wonderful sense of history and mystery in this tucked-away pub, with a great range of POrts, ales and other spirits. Definitely would return.
M. S.
Wonderful traditional pub. Only stopped for one drink bit it had a really lovely atmosphere and a great drink selection. The only thing that let it down was the maintenance of the toilets which could have been slightly cleaner and one cubical in the ladies was without loo roll. Otherwise it was brilliant and will definitely come back for a visit when in the area.
G. G.
Great pub in the centre of London with great character and great decor. It really is a pretty pub with lovely flowers outside.
The prices here are cheaper than most pubs in the area and the food was fantastic.
We had a cheese toastie and hunters chicken toastie, both were a good size and good value for money.
I will definately return and would highly recommend this pub.
G. A.
Nice atmosphere. No loud music to drown out good conversation. A very good selection of ales and beers.
Didn't eat or see a menu, so cannot comment on food. Staff very polite and efficient. Prices were 'typical of London'.... pricey if you're from 'up North' (like me).
N. B.
We were relieved to get a table here on a busy Saturday in late November. We had our favorite waiter of our entire trip. He was so helpful, giving us all kinds of recommendations of things to do and places to go. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was great. The fish and chips portion was huge! I could have split this. Also the sticky toffee was very good.
M. P.
After a day of extreme walking beer and food from here hit the spot. Friendly and helpful staff. Pub was full inside so we got a small table outside. Which was perfect coz covid is still in full swing...
Overall present experience. Will be back when in town again.
M. B.
We had a great experience in this lovely boozer ,food was excellent and the drink prices were very fair considering the pub is in Westminster excellent will definitely be returning.
E. S.
Nice pub, very clean and friendly staff. Best mulled wine I've had. Came in today at lunchtime and was a shame they weren't serving food.
B. H.
Nice pub food but not currently serving the children's menu which wasn't mentioned on the website when booking the table. The Sherlock Holmes room is interesting for the kids to look at
陳.
The male waiter here is kind and so welcoming. He showed us around the restaurant and introduced the history as well. It was a amazing experience because of the nice service and nice food.
E. A.
Nice pub with great food and wow ambiance !
C. P.
This is a solid pub for this area. It doesn't feel generic like many of the pubs around which are more catered for the large tourist crowds. Decent outdoor space means you can enjoy a pint in dry weather outside.
R. A.
Only stopped here for a brief drink but the staff seemed nice enough and of course you should visit just for the theme
L. M.
This is now officially one of my favorite pubs in London! Excuisite!
D.
Great beers and service but if you're using the gents toilets downstairs just beware of the steps!
N. S.
Stopped here for a few drinks and had a great time. They have a cool decor.
M. M.
What an atmosphere! I felt that Jeremy Brett would walk down the stairs chasing a suspect!
Drinks are cheap. Staff brilliant. You have to go!
N. R.
Had a lovely meal the waiter was very friendly and food was served quickly. Great memorabilia. Would definitely return at some point
M. S.
Great place for a beers or 2 or 3 maybe 4 very possibly 5.... Good selection of drinks
B. C.
Great beer, lovely atmosphere. Reasonably priced food which was of a good quality.
Friendly staff, who although they were rushed off their feet (Rememberance Day) were very attentive. Highly recommend a visit.
M. C.
We visited here for a beer or two after the rugby. We managed to get a table and then decided to have food. We were not disappointed despite the pub being heaving. It was piping hot and well presented!
N. H.
Absolutely charming place with period decor and S.H. themed items adorning the walls.
Good choice of beer (ale as it seems to be known by now) and attentive and polite staff.
P. S.
Only stopped for one drink. Got chatting to some locals which was nice. Good atmosphere.
H. 1.
The restaurant is really pretty and you feel like you are standing in sherlocks living room:)
The waiter was just amazing! Super friendly and happy and giving awesome travel advice! Thanks to him we booked a Westend show last minute and enjoyed it a lot!!! (Thanks Alan!)
Food was tasty and good quality.
Would recommend!
S. M.
Lovely little pub and great food. A few things on the menu were unavailable today, guess they may be having problems with supplies like the rest if the UK?
H.
Could do with a better range of ales. However place was buzzing, not many places to sit because of this. But nice little pub, worth a a visit.
M. K.
Surprisingly not too expensive (by London standards) for where it's located. Good selection of drinks, including a decent range of craft beers. Traditional pub, didn't try the food, but a number of tourists were eating at the time
R. C.
What a lovely pub just off the main road with a great selection of local beers and ciders. The food is sheer heaven and well worth the walk down from Trafalgar square
L. F.
Just had the most awesome pie and mash with cabbage and a pint of Coca Cola. Great characteristic place and very friendly staff with a mischievous sense of humour to cheer us all up with. Hopefully visiting London again in the near future
B. M. I.
Wonderful place for dinner. Made reservations and seated a few minutes prior to our time. The food was great, the drinks even better, and the service amazing. They did not have a children’s menu, but had no problem with our 4-year-old sharing a plate.
Restaurant is upstairs from the bar.
C. W.
Great pub, loads of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia and an excellent local ale
I. C.
Great pub with a great selection of beers, plenty of excellent IPA's
And one of the most polite barmen i have ever met, thanks for the crisps.
J. N.
Nice quaint place with a good selection of food.
N. M.
What an absolutely adorable place! We stopped here on vacation, and we were not disappointed with the food quality or drinks! Everyone here was incredibly friendly, and kind. I would definitely recommend stopping here for a drink or a bite to eat when in London!
r. m.
Packed and dirty. A good example of a pub that need to shut for a day and clean the nicotine off the walls and fix the toilets. Go for a pint but leave before you get comfy
J. K.
This place could’ve been better if not for the female staff. They male waiter is a true miracle of this place, whereas ladies are quite arrogant.
Others than that the food is good, but nothing special. We had an incident during our visit, but stuff happens, you know, it was resolved by the male waiter, otherwise this review should’ve been completely different.
R. P.
Ate dinner here with my wife one night on business travel while in London. Nice atmosphere. I wouldn't call it intimate because it was crowded... but it was cozy. Liked the decor and food was also great. Was just a few steps from our hotel where we stayed. Prices weren't bad at all.
W. N.
Popped in on a Monday night, there was a sign up that said restaurant was completely booked out for the night! Decided to ask the waitress on the wait time and was told kitchen closes at 8.30pm (we arrived at 8pm) and if we ordered immediately we could be seated.
Ordered starters of spiced haloumi and the sausage roll along with mains of ‘big fish and chips’ and the pork belly. Delicious food and good serving sizes. Would recommend people book ahead to not be disappointed if there’s not a table available for them.
A. M.
Only a flying late night visit but ales were lovely. Staff really hard working. Comfortable pub. Reasonable prices considering where it is. No complaints.
C. Y.
I’m a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so there is my go-to place to try my first English pub Sunday roast! The Yorkshire pudding is my favourite but the potato, gravy and meat are below average. Not even match my Sunday roast experience in New Zealand! I don’t think I’ll go again because the service at the restaurant is disappointed too. No smile, not friendly... I think if you’d like a loyal customer the first thing first is to improve your service and product rather than run marketing scam.
A.
Food was good, ambiance was quite nice - as advertised. Service was a little slow, perhaps they’re understaffed
J. K.
Came in for lunch and served by the wonderful Vanessa. Had the chicken burger that was full of flavour and had to finish it off with a sticky toffee and date pudding which was to die for! Massive compliment to the chefs! Venue is highly recommended and especially for the sherlock holmes and Dr Watson fans.
T. D.
Really good food, and an interesting and quirky interior.
However, our experience was spoilt by poor service. The hostess who showed us to our seats was lovely, and very attentive. Unfortunately, I think her shift finished while we were eating. Subsequently, we were left with empty plates in front of us for nearly half an hour, while another member of staff passed by our table at least four times. We were going to have desserts, but decided against it after waiting so long for our table to be cleared, which was just as well, because we weren't actually asked if we wanted to order any.
D. C.
Pub, London. Good selection of beers and ciders from around the world and locally. A house Ale or two.
The food is slightly over-served.
Value reasonable, and it was very handy to our hotel. Lots of space outside for spillover and smokers.
S. u.
Restaurant upstairs is full of character and has an amazing room like a museum full of sherlock Holmes memorabilia. Male east Asian waiter upstairs was super friendly efficient and had a sense of humour. Recommended.
M. T.
We loved it! A really great pub in the heart of London with a great variety of ales, beers and cocktails. We liked our ales, the warm atmosphere, the old Sherlock Holmes movies on the TV and the little room upstairs with items around Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. It is not a tourist trap but a place where locals hang out too with standard prices. Enjoy!
R. A.
Ideal place to to go before going to the theatre. The food was very good and the real ale was superbly kept. Both of which I can recommend and all reasonably priced.
T. H.
On a short Visit this Traditional pub is a delight to visit. Plenty of beers on tap and bottled craft beers available. Full of character and all welcome, tourists, workers and locals, a great mix.
D. F.
Eat inside or out. Nice food. Lots of beers to choose from. Old Holmes movies playing in the background. Restaurant is upstairs.
L. D.
Great pub, just the other side of Waterloo bridge on the way to Trafalgar Square.
Great period decor, with friendly staff.
Be warned it's rammed when the offices kick out between 5pm & 7pm, although we were lucky to get a table as someone was leaving.
S. C.
Popped in for a bite to eat and drinks at lunchtime after trying to find somewhere a bit quieter in the trafalgar Square area. Was easy enough to get a table, ordered on the app. Food was good and not like the normal green king fayre. Will return here if ever on the area again.
A.
The themeing and coziness is perfect but the food was mediocre. The best part was the scotch egg. The service was extremely slow. Despite this, I would give it another try. I give it an overall 4 stars because the ambiance in the upstairs part of the pub is worth it enough to try again. It would be a 3 if rating just the food and service.
J. R.
Lovely food, great staff, not overly expensive either. Always go here even for just a pint and they have a lovely seating area out the front under their beautiful flowers!
D. B.
The restaurant upstairs was cosy, and the staff were incredible, with great advice for things to see/do in the area
E. C. (.
Amazing place !!!
Being a Sherlock Holmes fan I fell in love with this pub !!! A must to do after the Sherlock Holmes museum. The pub is beautifully decorated. Great ambiance, so many stuff. And the food is very good.
A. H.
Very Good Service + All Safety Precautions Adhered 2. We Were Able 2 Sit Outside + Enjoy Our Excellent Food + Drinks. This Is A Gr8, Historic Pub In The Heart Of London + It Was So Good 2 Enjoy Our Time There, Even In These Difficult Times...🤩👏💥🥃
S. U.
Nice pub with upstairs study/restaurant....currently Out of Bounds
Pleasant bar staff. Good selection of Ales, ciders. We also ate here and the food was very nice.

I've been to this pub a few times now and enjoyed my visit every time, this time I was with my family and we all had a nice meal and was treated very well by all of the staff. I love the feel of this pub as its got a great buzz and it's got that old world feel, will definitely be going back.
I.
It took ages to order, there wasn't much cohesion behind the bar. The roast of the day wasn't what I was expecting, the chicken was to salty for my taste buds and the Yorkshire pudding was really just skin, not how I remember my mum used to make it. The nachos were really nice, which bumped the score up to a three
S. A.
We've visited it yesterday and have been really enjoyed. The 2nd floor (where restaurant is placed) is very quiet (the 1st floor is the pub, typical one, a bit noisy :) ). Our recommendations - visit the place BUT reserve the table before.
M. A. C.
Went here on 16th August as unfortunately we missed out afternoon bus tea slot so we ordered drinks & snacks.. drinks were fine but the snack platter was a tad disappointing because when it arrived it was cold, especially for the price we paid for it!! I did complain about it & it came back better but I found that the burger sliders were very dry.. one thing definitely to be looked at going forward.
D. H.
Good atmosphere, great food and drink, friendly staff and good value. I will definitely be going back every time I visit London.
T. E.
Had a lovely glass of merlot here in a beautifully clean glass. I sat outside as it was quite busy indoors but managed to get a table to myself. Would recommend!
p. R.
Great food. The Sherlock memorabilia makes the restaurant a marvelous place to relax and chat adding to the general ambiance. Good range of speciality beers and drinks.
A real treat in a tucked away part of london side streets.
T. T.
The evening I went it was full of people, so we had to drink outside. But it looks like a very nice place inside, and they have a friendly staff
P. B.
Loved the outside, not so great inside, the bar tenders never smiled, they should treat everyone with a smile and curtesy. Overall a nice pit stop. We had fish and chips and it was lovely, ty chef,
A. C.
Typical pub food, I had the chicken & mushroom pie and it was ok, but I wouldn't go back for that. The interior design on the other hand is amazing! They have tons of antiquities and even a room that resembles Sherlock Holmes' house.
N. S.
Lovely place with nice beers and lots of Sherlock Holmes stuff. Their setup of how his study would was pretty cool! The carrot soup I had was lovely, service was very friendly. We were there on a Sunday, and it was clearly a family friendly restaurant (quite a few enthusiastic families with kids), so just keep that in mind. But overall, very good place to go if you want a good bite, and/or are a fan of Holmes, and/or didn't want to stand in line for the Holmes Museum at Baker Street ;)
L. M.
Had a shoot that day and was just passing through, but the place sure looked great and the history behind it is amazing.
S. T.
We were in the restaurant upstairs. The scotch egg was very good. It the yoke supposed to be soft? The only other time I’ve had on it was hard. The sausage and mash were good and the dessert was delicious but it’s hard to mess up brownie and ice cream. There was just something lacking. It would have been nice to use the pub menu, we didn’t ask to so maybe we could have. The pub menu was mare extensive.
A. B.
I don't think people come here for their food. If you are looking for a good dining experience and quality food, then this isn't the right place. However, if you are a big Sherlock fan like myself, it's really fun to have a quick drink/snack here. Service is a bit slow and they seem a bit disorganized. But there are a lot of distractions to keep you busy. I would recommend against the Sherlock ale. It tasted cheap and watered down. Everything else was average.
R. B.
Really good pub with excellent food, the pub was really busy when I visited on Remembrance Sunday and the staff were so efficient no one waited long to be served and always with a smile, will definitely be going back
M. F.
The server accidentally spilled a large beer on my daughter's and my lap. It ran down into my shoes. It cooled us off but we were so thirsty. That round of drinks were free. After recovery from that, the fish and chips and steak and chicken pies were delicious. Service is slow but it's a historic picture perfect pub.
D.
The interior is adorable. We have only visited the restaurant on the first floor so I can only review that: The waiters are pretty fast and I can only recommend the food. We had two waiters caring about us. One seemed to have a bad day, the other was pure enthusiasm and gave us a feeling of being 100% welcomed.
R. A.
Lovely little pub with friendly helpful staff. Nice pictures and Sherlock related items. Currently has table service in place due to COVID and staff were seen diligently wiping tables between customers. Other areas of the pub such as shelves and the items on them were dusty. Service was a bit slow at times despite there seeming to be plenty of staff.
L. D.
Maybe not the cheapest place to eat around, but this is for sure a great place to try British food in the center of London. You can even have Sunday roast every day (although I think that's cheating). I tried the sausage and the sticky toffee and I loved it. Also their own ale, called Sherlock Holmes, was perfect. I really enjoyed having lunch in this pub. Top quality
M. M.
A very nice and popular pub that you should visit sometime when you're in London! The beers where good and the food was great! It has a room decorated with a Sherlock Holmes theme, which Sherlock's fans will love it! They also sell some souvenirs.
M. Z.
Good pub with very helpful staff. You can eat and drink beer or wine.
All pub's theme is about Sherlock Holmes and you can watch the old movie on the TV.
C. R. H.
Ate at the upstairs restaurant which is much quieter and cozier than the loud pub downstairs. Great food menu! We had the brisket and pork sliders, the burger, and sides of rosemary fries came with both - fries were amazing as were the mains! Get a reservation or come before 6pm on a weeknight, and don't hesitate to order the sticky toffee pudding to share for dessert.
Ł. M. (.
Food was quite good. Nothing fancy, standard pub quality. The ambiance of the pub was really cool with lots of Sherlock Holmes themed decorations and some of the menu items had Sherlock Holmes themes.
Despite the slower service, it was a still a good experience that I would recommend to other.
I. C.
Great pub, great food and drink and great staff
C. O.
Nice place, good beer
J. R.
Had an excellent time here. From the drinks, food and atmosphere, all were great. We are definitely heading back before our trip is over.
E. J.
Good experience. Staff was friendly and quick. Decent but not expansive selection of beers, and prices are good. Cool Sherlock Holmes-themed room upstairs if you want to run up and take a peek!
A. E.
Local London gin good ..prices good & service ok. Was busy but managed to get a seat. Loos were tidy
M. A.
Theme really works. Food is solid. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good amount of ale on tap
C. G.
I like this place.. its a some traditional thinks for me.. every time when I go in this area I drink some 🍺 there😁. But this time I try fish and chips..🙄🤔 I pay 14 pound but🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄 its not be enough Cooked🙄🤔
L. A. M.
Nice warm cozy spot! More than over 20 types of beers!!! The food menu, however, is not much expressive.
J. J.
Great little place, lots of character and prices not too bad for Central London
D. S.
Really good food and ambiance
K. C.
It's a lovely pub, full of character.we only had a few pints, nothing to eat.but the food we saw looked very tasty.the pint of Sherlock was really nice.
R. B.
Super cozy, picture perfect restaurant in a great location. It might be a bit difficult to get a table downstairs, but the upper floor is actually nicer even though it doesn't have a bar like downstairs. The food is good, but nothing to write home about and the prices are fair.
J. H.
Great pub, friendly staff and a warm welcome.
K. P.
If you are intending to visit in summer, be prepared. The place is hot as hell once the air conditioning was not working when I was there. The plates are really generous and and taste really good. I saw some people just giving up on order something there because there was too little waiters and you have to wait a long time to order your food, but it will worth. The atmoafere reminds a Sherlock Holmes book. If the weather is good (under 25°C) I really recommends the place
D. S.
Really great place! A bit crowdy, but totaly worth visiting. Cosy atmosphere, delicious food. Should try the soup of the day and ms. Hudsons sunday.
I.
Maybe it was that I didn't look hard enough but I didn't really see the Sherlock Holmes theme other than a few posters and wording.
Staff provided good service and food was good.
M. C.
Great pub lovely meal/staff I'll recommend you 👍
day. Staffvery friendly
A. E.
If you like or are a lover of everything to do with 221b Baker Street then you will love this pub. Busy with tourists hence getting served will be at the crowed bar yet nice friendly staff, clientele & surroundings this pub which is great for a photo is just outside Charing Cross Stations (Why is CX called CX is a great story from Edward l yet unlike SH is true) or just up from Embankment..a destination visit.
P. D.
Was very excited about visiting here. The good - beer on tap. The not so good - the food. We got steak was overcooked and after we got the 2nd version, it was very grisly and tough. Very disappointing.
A. O.
Lovely pub with some super friendly staff. Excellent selection of beers and ciders. I highly recommend the cherry cider on tap. It's like dessert in a cup!
S. P.
The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was clean. The waitstaff was attentive and it didn't take long to get our food. The restaurant has replicas of Sherlock Holmes study, which was interesting and a lot of people looking at the things. The food was great, which I got the Sunday roast. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in London.
A. B.
Good food with glacialy slow service. We are still waiting for my husbands 3rd choice of starter (they'd run out of his first two choices). Mine was served 10 minutes ago. We ordered the same thing so no excuse and very poor practice!
Edit: the second starter arrived a little over 20 minutes after the first, with a free drink to apologise, second course arrived promptly.
Z. L.
Good pub. Service was good. Food was delicious. However, for you tourists out there, its basically just a normal pub called Sherlock Holmes. It's great if you're in the area already but I wouldn't make a special journey to experience it. I'd suggest they step up the inside decor and add some Sherlock flair if they really want to be worthy of the the name of world's greatest detective!
A. H.
Nice place to sit for a chat and drink while visiting London. Staff very helpful and good food.
G. W.
Great pub, friendly staff.
C. H. L.
Pretty hot place with the best fish and chips, plus excellent draft beer!
R. B.
Very Good food good service
Lovely staff , the only prob was the stepps , i forgot u have to walk up them. Can't wate to back
c.
Great pub, lovely staff...minus a star as they didn't have a t-shirt in my size 😔
S. K.
Amazing ambience, Amazing food!!
there was just one waiter but he handled everything very efficiently !
N. L.
This was a neat little pub with a Sherlock Holmes theme. If you’re into Sherlock and pub food and environment, then I would recommend giving it a go.
They have a few vegan options, but the vegan food could use improvement. Other than that, it was an enjoyable visit.
C.
Lovely looking London Pub close to Trafalgar Squ.
Visited in July during Covid so you could not order from the bar, all drinks had to be ordered via an App
Service was very slow & some of our party became agitated having to sit & wait for so long.
Plenty of outside seating as well as tables inside.
I would visit again & hope for a better experience now he have a bar service back.
Tourists would love this traditional London pub
B. W.
Overpriced drinks re theme pub we assumed.Quirky decor with Sherlock films running back to back on the TV.The carpets and upholstered furniture could do with a little clean.
A. A.
I love this pub with his not-to-miss beers (I went for a Dr Watson)
R. S.
Great Pub, Great atmosphere, well and truly worth a visit.

Great little find,,large choice of drinks.great atmosphere..plenty to go round on rememberence Sunday.
B.
Nice pub, good service, good beer.
They have outdoor and indoor sitting which is nice when you stay late and it starts to become colder after a sunny summer day. They also serve some pub food if needed when you forget the time thanks to the company you came with.
Toilets were clean.
A pub like I'd love to see more often.
M. B.

Alright pub with pretty good food. Not the nicest service in the dining room but overall a good experience.
B. S.
Really friendly staff in a lovely place making this moment a memorable time!
S. P.
So much fun with their gin selections!
Also, I ate fish and chips 8 times in 6 days in London, and theirs was the best.
J.
Small London pub with lots of character. Great selection of drinks including ales and lots of gins. Plenty of Sherlock Holmes references and old Basil Rathbone movies showing on a couple of TVs. Reasonably priced menu with good selection of pub grub. Tables outside for when the weather is good. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
R. S.
Fish and chips taste great! And an asortment of beverages, a good choice
N. T. T.
It was a nice vintage place, but unfortunately we didn't find table for dinner (upstairs). The bar/pub downstairs was very overcrowded.
I think you should book before visit. The lady that worked upstairs gentle.
E. D.
Looks like a museum but it's not! The food was great! The service was great! Everything was Amazing! Also It's really close to the London eye!
S. O.
Had a lovely time in this lovely old pub👍the staff and locals were very helpful and friendly 😀👌the local beer astrel was great 👍😄10/10
A. P.
Very nice place for a pub lunch and great service from the staff.
t. b.
Just lovely.. warm friendly atmosphere, all round awesome!
S. M.
Decent little pub. Good chicken combo deal we had before the circus.
Not so much murder mystery solving here though
w. c.
Food very good service excellent but they have to do something about the mice
M. R.
Not much to add but it's simply a great place to watch the world go by. Dark wood interiors and an olde worlde feel. Great boozer. M
G. C.
One of my favourite pubs in all of London. Nothing quite like finishing work on a Friday and have a few pints at the Sherlock Holmes. Great place
D. H.
Very busy on a Saturday night. But we had a nice time though.
C. M.
Lovely pub for a beer just round the corner from Trafalgar Square
S. C.
Beware this place shuts at 10:30, otherwise it's quite pleasant, clean and friendly
M. D.
This tour was AMAZING! Our tour guide was extremely interesting and had definitely done his research. Make sure you go to the restroom before the 3 hour tour, because once you start, there is no stopping. I loved riding in the 1950's double decker bus. Our ride was elongated due to protests near parliament. This made the tour seem a bit longer at first since there was not much to say, but once we were "foot to the ground" it was nonstop entertainment.
J.
After 2 years of trying, we finally got a seat! It's an atmospheric and very cool pub with an awesome selection on tap. Just wish there were more seats!
M. T.
A special pub with its soul. You can drink Sherlock Holmes's ale or Dr Watson ale.
But last time when I sit down on the sofa I met a bedbug...
R. M.
Really awesome British pub with the best cask ale i had while visiting London, and i tried it from about 7 other places. Only thing they need to work on is getting rid of all the fruit flies. There was a small swarm of them at one end of the bar.
R. W.
The restaurant was not heaving with full tables yet the time between actions had us gazing about for service. Why did we have to fire the APP up to find out the price of the beers, what is being hidden away
D. M.
For any Sherlock fan this great pub a short walk from Trafalgar Square is well worth a visit. They have a great display of a recreation of Sherlock Holmes study. The study is located upstairs in the restaurant area. There is also a great selection of drinks to be tried while calling in for a visit.
W. D.
Great little pub, fantastic choice of ales, very friendly staff .
N. S.
My family was made to feel welcome, food was great and a wide range of beer, can't wait to go back.
J. M.
Great little pub tucked away just off the strand. Great to take in the monopoly board parties and good value for central London. Always try and visit when there.
T. D.
Lovely bustling pub with friendly staff
J. H.
Nice atmospheric place for a beer. Friendly staff, clean but gets very busy
P. G.
Lovely traditional pub showcasing Sherlock Holmes' study. Very well kept in terms of social distancing and sanitizing. You will find a huge collection of Sherlock memorabilia and souvenirs for sale. Go try the Sherlock Holmes ale with your fish 🐟 and chips
G. S.
Food is awesome! Service is great! Set up is the best. 5 out of 5, we'll definitely be back.
L. C.
A cozy place for beers and drinks downstairs and delicious food upstairs. Maybe the best fish & chips in town!
P. I.
*Only Had Drinks*
It's a beautiful pub in a quiet place.
Only 4, seats outside with 2-3 seats but if you grab a seat on a sunny day it's going to be memorable.
M. G.
Great atmosphere, very good Sausage and Mash. Must go to pub while in London..
S. F.
On my way walking to Trafalgar square, I bumped into this gorgeous pub. Well, it's name says it all. The Sherlock Holmes pub is beautiful and although I didn't have the time to walk into the pub, I was enjoying the the look of it from the outside and many people sitting inside and outside the pub and it seemed like that they are having a blast...
A. L.
From the name, location, and overall garish garnishments it's elementary that this will be a pub popular with tourists. That being said the beers are just as good here as they are down the road at about the same overall inflated London prices. However I'm not quite Sherlock about the food here. (see what I did there)
G. M.
Amazing place for relax happy Pub always lovely 🍹🍹💃💜💜💜
V. T.
Lovely friendly pub. Can highly recommend the Lamb Hotpot, absolutely delicious
G. V.
5 stars for the building and the display cabinets inside, about as real as you could get, especially for a fictitious character. 3 stars only as I think the staff were having a bad day and did nothing to add to what could have been a unique experience, but worth a visit
p. v.
An eclectic clientele great surroundings so pop in for a drink.
H. A.
Loved it here great atmosphere xxxx
g. g. l.
Great pub! Very good location, a lot of drink (more and more cider...) and tastiest food bring me back every time when I go to London. Stuff personnel was kind and helpful all time. Great location to spend magic time.
S. H.
Great looking pub, lovely staff and great food
T. C.
It was the first time since the Easter Bank Holiday of 2020 that I was able to meet up with good friends of mine. A lovely evening was had by all. The staff were all very pleasant. So good to back at the Sherlock Holmes
D. l.
Really nice selection of beers, including kegs and hand pulls. Worth trying their excellent Sherlock hand pull.
R. S.
Very friendly service. Nice place to visit as a group.
W. t. E.
Great pub right at the center of London. Their selection of beers are a bit basic but if you are looking for a nice environment to relax and maybe grab a burger too, this is the place.
S. S.
Great food and friendly staff. There is a mock up of Sherlock Holmes study upstairs.
C. N.
We were staying nearby and had several visits for breakfast and lunches, the food is both great quality, with lovely huge sourdough sandwiches and very good value. Nice range of drinks too and friendly staff, all in all a top boozer!
E. C.
Been to this pub many times and love it, good beer, good company.
Hoping to visit again September. Are you doing bar service again? As will be a flying visit.
J. Y.
Great service, tasty food (portions are a bit bigger than I expected), and overall very good value. Some old school Sherlock films playing in the background add to the charm.
S. W.
Only stayed for a quick pint but very friendly staff.
o. k.
On a visiting London found this little gem by accident walking back to hotel along Fleet Street
It's a little gem, lovely old fashioned place. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended to visit . Loved it
L.
Great little traditional London pub with a good choice of gins and ales. Good atmosphere. Always try to have a drink here when in town.
A. S.
I just popped up today in The Sherlock Holmes Pub to warm up a bit and have a drink. Me and my friend have a great time and the place is really welcoming and cosy. Btw, Sherlock's beer it's really tasty. Next time i will try Watson's beer!
I recommend it, esspecially for Sherlock's fans!
w. s.
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food, perfect for a meal with friends or a quick drink, I'll definitely come again
王.
Nice place and good beer, enjoy the atmosphere with my friends, staff is really niceee.
J. J.
Nice food and drinks, very good staff
D. R.
Great pub with good selection of drinks and very good pub food menu. We went on a Sunday and had some of the roasts available, all delicious and good value for the location. Very good Covid aware practices including waiter/waitress service. An extra feature is the Sherlock Holmes theme, including old films showing in the downstairs bar
A. H.
Nice bar, great food and friendly staff
C. W.
Had the fish & chips which was excellent. Plus a couple pints of beer. Service was fast and friendly.
D. 7.
Very friendly, pretty accessible considering the age of the building. Recommended
P. T.
Great pub, lively atmosphere, great grub as well..
M. B.
Bias but this is one of my favorite pubs in London. Can't tell you why but it just is.
J. S.
Friendly staff, good food and lots of interesting memorabilia for Sherlock Holmes fans.
k. h.
Dropped in here as I miss it every time I visit London, now that the shackles are off pubs etc should be booming seeing all the complaints about not being allowed to go inside for drinks or food well at 9pm this place was empty only a handful of people inside and a few outside which is a shame. If your in London get into these places and help them get back on their feet.
P.
Great atmosphere and staff
Great
Only trouble was the food waited 1 hour when food arrived it was stone cold sandwiches stone cold
That was the only downfall
J. C.
Fantastic pub, highly recommended, great service and nice atmosphere
E. H.
Wonderful pub. Lovely and cosy and fab drinks
M. E.
Lovely food but did wait nearly 50 minutes for a toastie and a sandwich which I felt was a bit too long
R. W.
Nice pub very friendly nice e food

Nice place, lovely staff, no crazy pricing. Definitely recommend!
A. V.
Something different, quirky interior. Nice food friendly staff. Prices not to bad for London.
W. B.
Good food. Good drinks. Good Sherlock Holmes movie on the TV
C. F.
very good fish and chips, great atmosphere, amazing service how they patiently and diplomatically handled the nasty customers eating next to us..
A. W.
Went out for the evening on our fist day out.had dinner and the food was excellent. Used the app to order food which was really easy
A. B.
The pub is Great but disappointed with their own beers..
A. V.
Nice Ambience and custom made beers

Dropped in for a pit stop and light snack. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff
K. M.
Great pub. Friendly and efficient staff.
N.
Nice friendly stuff and we had a lovely evening there
D. Z.
Nice traditional pub! Quick staff and good taste of beers for tourist!
R. F.
Interesting decor however the food was subpar (chicken was dry) and the service was incredibly slow despite there not being many others eating at the time.
D. M.
Amazing food chocolate fudge cake to die for it,s a must try 🥰
C. C.
Great pub, great service and fantastic food!! We loved it!!
R. C.
Crowded but fun. Lovely restaurant upstairs. Highly recommended.
R. B.
Great pub for a pint or 3! Food was good as well.
R. P.
Very nice friendly pub just off the Thames path clean toilets etc always a bonus in my book
T. B. P.
Lovely local pub with reasonable prices
C. D.
The waiter was quite polite, but there was long waiting for service. We wait for menus, then for the drinks, she forgot them, then wait again, then the food came anddd it was not impressing at all. Plane dry beef patty, hard bun, no souse .. very poor dish, at least the fries was okay, not the best one, but still better than the rest of the food. Don’t loose your time and money for eating there. It may be good as pub, but I haven’t tried their drinks.
H. W.
Lovely boozer. Attentive staff, good app. We just had snacks but the chips were good. Highly recommend.
E. V.
Loved it. Had a real English lunch.
D. P.
Stumbled in again after the marathon. Great buzzy pub full of runners and spectators
H. B.
Nice beers and the hunters chicken was delicious.
R. B.
Excellent pub and a restaurant upstairs.. we enjoyed a Guiness while an old Basil Rathbone, Sherlock Holmes film played on the telly... perfect!!
I. M.
Famous yet reasonably priced and the stuff(Matilde) was very kind and friendly! Food was also very tasty. Must go to pub in London!
S. E.
Very friendly staff food looks good haven't tried it only had a drink
M. T.
A special pub with its soul. You can drink Sherlock Holmes's ale or Dr Watson ale.
But last time when I sit down on the sofa I met a bedbug...

Nice atmosphere and good place to stop in for lunch and a drink.

Staff were friendly and helpful really nice pub.
V. R.
Our waitress for the night was lovely and helped us with everything the scenery is perfect for the name which presents a lovely atmosphere
A. v. D.
Relaxed place, also serving typical pub food, friendly personnel. It does showcase a Sherlock room, as one may expect.
S. W.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the pub is my favorite. Full of atmosphere and the food is wonderful.
L. B.
A bit of mixed feelings. Locals gather there for a pint or two (or three) but they know better to leave the food for the tourists. The dining room was filled with mostly tourists (such as us). The service was excellent but the Sunday Roast Beef was highly disappointing.
Here is an update following a reply by the owner, so I wanted to express my appreciation. I have to clarify that I did have a chicken pot pie myself (which was excellent), while my spouse had the Sunday roast. The roast was way too "Well Done" for our tastes, not sure whether the result of the cooking or the waiters, not asking what our preferences were. Obviously, Sherlock Holmes has a long track record of providing good value. Hoping you'll be able to review what happened and adjusted as needed. Thank you
A. P.
Best preserved room as was described in the book
M. H.
Great menu 👍good choice of drinks👍nice food &Friendly
M.
It’s a fine pub with quick service at the bar. The Sherlock House Ale tastes like malt vinegar. Avoid.
J. H.
Excellent service in the restaurant! The food was Very Very good! My son who only want McDonalds ate the sausage and mash loved it. I really enjoyed their fish and chips. The waitress was very helpful and patient due to our uncertainty in what we wanted to eat. The atmosphere was perfect for what we had hoped for in a British pub.
J. D. (.
Should have probably read some of the reviews before coming here. This was our first pub during our stay in London. First we got a couple of beers which were room temperature. We had to check with a few of the locals to see whether London just does warm beer as back at home we drink it really cold. Anyway we decided to eat thee, food was good but took almost an hour to come out to us. This pub was a pass for me, I really wanted to enjoy it but I just couldn't
J. K.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff
L. K.
Absolutely lovely place with kind servers and bartenders. Do not come here expecting a fast meal... have a few pints and take it easy. The food is standard and there is a huge beer selection (+ a few really great gins!). I came here alone while on vacation and the servers were incredibly social and friendly. I enjoyed their company so much that I returned for drinks a few nights later. A great find!
B. S.
Wonderful, authentic place, very delicious food and drinks
C. P.
Service is a bit slow, but the food is great, and the atmosphere even better.
J. S.
Great English pub with a decent selection of beers
F. R.
My personal favourite pub for a good beer and a chat with friends!
L. g.
Lovely pub, might pop back and try the food soon
D. F.
Good beer, good ambience, friendly staff and nice outdoor seating area.
C.
Really cool place but thats pretty much it. Food was quite normal and there was good service
N. V.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming, even when very busy! They helped through the menu changes, dew to the busy weekend, even ran drinks up the down stairs bar! Cause of the lack of menu. The decoration is amazing! If you want to eat book! The food/portions are great!
T. C.
Great little pub. Lovely to see things getting busier.
J.
Visiting London, stopped by to try out the restaurant.
PROS of experience:
1: Awesome atmosphere visually, feels like a genuine English pub downstairs and the restaurant feels like you’re dining in Sherlock’s home.
2: Food and drink was awesome, mostly.
3: Bit pricey but nothing too crazy.
CONS of experience:
1: Ordered the chicken pie and they mixed my pie up with someone else’s.
1.5: When I asked the waitress which pie was which she said “This is the chips and this is the vegetables” which was a laughable reply considering cutting into it I found I had the steak. She also came off a bit rude and was previously banging things around in the kitchen, perhaps she was just having a bad night?
2: The lettuce + spinach in my meal was dry like it had been over cooked in a microwave.
3: Cup was dirty.
Overall 3/5.
It’s decent and has cool visuals but ‘some’ of the staff and food needs work.
K.
I was disappointed at first that reservations were required (at least at peak times), but I'm glad I was able to return for dinner the next day. So worth the wait! Inexpensive cuisine that tastes amazing. If you're a Sherlock Holmes fan you will go crazy for the decor and thematic menu. My waiter was very enthusiastic about Sherlock Holmes as well and made the experience all the better. It's not too gimmicky or touristy and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. When/if I return to London I will definitely eat here again!
O. H.
The Sherlock Holmes Pub it is a take on a classic recreation of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson home . Amazing environment to escape in the middle of the city and imagine yourself solving some bear mysteries.
D. D. L. C.
Really nice experience in London , near London eye , Trafalgar Square , really nice service , affordable.
G.
Nice 👍
R. H.
Great watering hole. Not too busy when I was there and enjoyed the outdoor seating.
b. t.
Staff were friendly and helpful really nice pub.
E. M.
Lovely pub. Staff friendly. We go after work, just around the corner
C. O.
Nice atmosphere and good place to stop in for lunch and a drink.
S. K.
Good pub nice food just around corner from our hotel Clermont-Ferrand. Thanks
J. G.
Friendly atmosphere ,great pies.
S. E.
Very friendly staff food looks good haven't tried it only had a drink
I. L.
Popped in for a cheeky pint ..smashing place , friendly staff, nice pint.
G. G.
Such a cool place. It has a classic British pub look downstairs and upstairs is set up to look like 221B Baker Street which for any Sherlock fan is cool to see. If the atmosphere isn’t enough to please you, the food is also fantastic. We were on a 5 day trip to London and went here twice because their fish and chips are so good. Another thing that I loved about it was that the patrons were mostly locals so it got us away from the tourists in the area for a few hours. Definitely recommend it!
P. T.
Maps says they open at 10:00AM but they were not on 4 October. I left a hoodie here last night and was hoping to retrieve it before going to the airport.
T. S.
Nice pub with some outdoor areas - either tables in front of pub or sitting on steps across the road. Just off Trafalgar Square but slightly off the road and relatively quiet. Interesting interior and does standard pub food. Biggest thing which would stop me returning is price. We bought two Camden hell's which cost £12.10. The pub and the service definitely not good enough to warrant this.
J. E.
Great 'theme' pub right in the heart of things. Always busy and with a good vibe. The food is not bad and quite reasonable considering. Always a good range of beers. The staff are friendly and on the ball. One of my favourites.
A. P.
Wonderful atmosphere quirkey great food great staff
K. (.
Typical English Pub. Well located.
M. L.
Beer is ok, traditional food offering, nice spot to sit and watch the world go by.
Worth a visit 😊
V. R.
Wonderful! The food was delicious as well :) When you come around lunchtime mo-fr, you're likely to get a seat in the upstairs area. Really my biggest problem with the visit was that there was basic radio pop music playing all the time, which I thought kind of ruined the athmosphere a bit. Because the interior is really marvelous& classy, and with a different soundscape (maybe some victorian-era violin/...?) could be elevated and reach the full potential its experience!
N. S.
Great little London pub. Great service and reasonable price. 👍
E. R.
Nice pub. Go upstairs and see Sherlock's room. It's brilliant.
J. C.
Great little pub, but I don't know what happened to the Sherlock Holmes memorabilia that use to be on the walls.
C. C.
Food was amazing. Staff very friendly.
B. M.
Nice pub had a good meal there and a couple of pints and the staff are helpful and nice.
P. L.
It's a very nice old pub in a great part of London. The prices were actually not too bad, so very surprised. On a summer's day, people stand outside on the street and makes it a great atmosphere. Some great local beers and ales to give a go.
J. P. R.
Great place, good bear and fish 'n chips
B. E.
A few day ago, my co-workers and I had a special occasion to celebrate and we chose this pub. It definitely was a good choice. We liked the traditional British atmosphere. The members of staff created welcoming ambience and treated us as special guests. The service was very good.
S. T.
Really nice little pub. A large variety of drinks, with prices not to ridiculous for London and its very central location. The food was delicious, would recommend eating. Reasonably priced and not a long wait. The only downside to that place is that because it is popular and small, seating can be an issue, but plenty of space to wait around the bar until someone has finished. Have been a few times, and would definitely not hesitate in returning.
J. M.
Cozy Pub . . . Enjoyed the Dr. Watson London Porter (not as heavy as others I've had!)
b. (.
Dessert was nice. The restaurant has a great Sherlock Homes room installed. A must see for any fans. My main burger dish was quite small for the price and below average quality I was expecting (not warm enough). The table was sticky before I started with the dinner. A shame for such a nice restaurant near Trafalgar square.
P. K.
This is a review of the downstairs pub only. Great place to hang out for the Sherlock Holmes fan and non fan. Cozy atmosphere with themed beers on draft. Enjoy the novelty and memorabilia spread throughout the pub and be sure to check out the imaginative display of 221B Baker St upstairs.
G. B.
Great pub food, wonderful bar selections, and lots of great Sherlock Holmes memorabilia. This is one of the Cities great little pubs. If you enjoyed the books, TV shows, or movies you must come here. It is just great! Fast service, friendly and helpful staff, and restroom is even clean!
C. D.
A nice pub with a themed room upstairs. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are both friendly and helpful.
A top though, they stop serving food on the dot, so if in there order early.
The pub is kept clean and tidy. It is somewhere that I will go in again if in the area.
A. H.
Well worth the visit and great staff.
S. W.
Since we where early for our dinner reservation, we first had a drink downstairs. Waitress was amazingly friendly and patient, helling me choose the best cyder doe me, including letting me taste the ones on draft.
Upstairs, samen friendly staff. Food was Ok, but nothing special.
Interior is interesting and well done.
L. W.
Great pub! Steak and Ale pie was great.
r. h.
Nice pub everything was appealing the drinks and the people and lovely historic feel
L.
Beautiful place filled with (of course) Sherlock Holmes references! Plus there's a giant TV streaming some classic Sherlock and that's always a pleasure.
Also, the chicken meat pie is incredibly good, 100% would recommend!
S. M.
Good atmosphere and great location. Typical London prices. Food wasn't great but that could be down to the fact we ordered just before the kitchen closed. Not a bad selecrion of beers. They have the new Guinness on tap which is decent!
R. B.
Very cozy pub well worth a visit,
S. C.
Great food, great atmosphere
K. W.
Fun atmosphere and the food was good. Portions were a little small, but not terrible. Be sure to check out all their decorations. It is definitely Sherlock Holmes themed and has a remake of the flat on Bakers Street. Service was a little slow, but we definitely used the time to enjoy the decor!
P. S.
Nice pub. Friendly staff. No real ale
G. M.
I'm obsessed with this place. Cute, cozy, cool. Amazing food with a variety of choices on the menu and great service. You really can't go wrong here. The environment has a speak easy type of feel to it, which I always think is pretty cool. Definitely would recommend.
P. L.
Some of the best bangers and mash we had in London.
Credit to the staff working there, this was going to be a lower-rated review due to the long wait to get served even while seated but they made up for it by suggesting the cheese cake which was as advertised, also some of the best we’d had before!
A. D.
This is my favourite pub in London, definitely a place to come back to. Bar is always busy but with a perfectly fast and friendly service so it's a great place to have fun after a long walk. They also have a great food and my honest recommendation is beef&ale pie. The whole Sherlock Holmes environment adds a unique experience. I just love it every time!!!
K. C.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in London. Everytime we go back, we try to get into Sherlock Holmes for a meal. Can be very busy and wait a while to get a table but it's so worth. If you like mac and cheese, you'll love it here! Excellent beer too!
Z. A.
Absolutely lovely pub!
Y. G.
The steak British beef pie was amazing! Definitely worth it. Beers choice is great but slightly pricy.
S. C.
Had a good meal here while visiting London for the first time. The sausage and mash was excellent, great dish. My wife's chicken sandwich was light on the meat but otherwise tasty. Bartender was very nice, we would definitely stop back next time in the city.
B. B.
Ate downstairs this time. Took a while for a table to open up. Almost too noisy for conversation but the food and drinks tasted lovely. Enjoyed the grilled cheese with red carmelized onions.
M. G. P.
This pub had been on my radar for 4 decades. It is hidden in an oasis of calm slap bang in the middle of Trafalgar square and Charing cross area.
The Greene King chain ensures excellent food at reasonable prices but it has a secret.
There is a shrine to Sherlock Holmes and all sorts of ephemera is around the pub upstairs .
I recommend this hostelry for visitors to London. It has charm, history and a hearty welcome.
J. E.
Nice little pub in a good location. Friendly staff.
A. M.
Great location and rarely that busy. If you get lucky, there's a few outdoor tables. Good service. Typical pub fare.
L. K.
My favourite spot in all of London. Always love coming here for a pint after a busy chaotic day and getting to unwind in a cosy pub. Nothing too extravagant, but that's perfectly fine. Wouldn't change a thing about this gem
B. J.
Fun theme bar with two levels for seating. Ordered the Sunday roast dinner and it was good, if a bit lacking in the amount of beef. Many tap selections for draft, but some I asked for were unavailable. Be sure to check out the study upstairs.
E. L.
Feels like a local in the middle of London. Has some fantastic Belgian beers, some that are more uncommon. Unfortunately it's smells a bit stale when you first walk in, but would definitely recommend it for a relaxed drink.
H. L. L. (.
Good location and nice staff. Beer is good and food is comforting. Dogs are welcome and the atmosphere is imprinted by the most famous english detective! Ground level is the pub and the restaurant is upstairs so it is convenient for all the hours of the day!
m. w.
A packed pub. Took a while to get served while till roll was being changed and glasses collected. £5.50a pint, dearest drink all day. Good atmosphere but dont bother if its a quiet drink you are after
I. R.
Nice bar, Good prices, cool ambient and excellent service! 100%recommended
J. L.
Fantastic place. Great food and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone
G. W.
The atmosphere is interesting for fans of the fictional detective, but it can be difficult to get into. The restaurant only seats visitors by reservation in the evenings, yet they seem understaffed and are frequently slow to return to a table. The food is good.
A. E.
A nice place to have a drink but it gets packed from tourist on the Sherlock Holmes tour.
m. d.
Crowded but has lots of atmosphere.
L. R.
Perfect for any Sherlock Holmes fan! Great food, great selection of ciders and any other type of beer that you want! Can't fault it in any way. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, staff are polite and courteous, very family friendly pub!
H. Y.
This pub is a big spot for tourists, but also enjoyable for locals as well. The pints are cheap and service is good. The historical aspect makes this a great spot to have a drink and enjoy London.

Excellent Beers on tap, needless to say they were Sherlock themed. Proper English food with the classics like fish n chips, meat pies etc. The atmosphere is excellent and the prices are fine for London.

Great pub with great atmosphere.Recommend

I think we were there at a bad moment, because they served one of our party 10 minutes later then the rest, looked like they forgot. Just like the cutlery... but they were very apologetic and offered a free drink for it. Good atmosphere, nice setting

Very busy, whisky good.

I went to this pub 15 years ago and had a brilliant memory of the food I had. This time the food was average and we had a bit of a wait. However, being a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fan, it's always good to stop by and have a look at the reconstitution of Sherlock Holmes' baker Street room. Nothing has changed on first floor (restaurant). Pub is downstairs.

The atmosphere was amazing with a sherlock holmes theme. Very cozy. Had to wait quite a while to be seated even though they werent that busy. However, service was prompt once seated and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks. The food was very good. Presentation was appealing. I got the sausages and mash, something very English for a traveling American. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Visited after a Sherlock Holmes walking tour. Ordered the fish pie and steak and ale pie. They were delicious. The steak pie had generous chunks of meat cooked until tender. The fish pie was nice too with a slight curry flavour. There's a very small museum of all things Sherlock which is cute. The staff were friendly and chatted with us tourists which was nice. The upstairs restaurant area was quiet around 5pm and the downstairs pub area was pretty busy.

Come for the atmosphere and a drink. Go elsewhere for dinner.
I think they had a problem in the kitchen because the food took a long while, especially for the table next to us who only ordered fish and chips and waited for over an hour. Our chicken dinner was a bit dried out.

Nice pub with good selection of beers. Not massive inside but a good atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, great food. Try the chips served in a heating bag - it's really tasty. Also, my sister's favourite soup in the world, is the potato soup that is served here.
Staff is nice, fast and helpful.

Okay for one visit if you are near Embankment tube station. I am a Sherlock Holmes fan myself but found this pub only mildly interesting. I visited it on a Thursday night. It was a fine night and the pub was so crowded that getting a glass of beer took much more time than expected.

I am a true fan of Basil Rathbone and his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem pub of my iconic character. What a unique place and wonderful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this pub to any fan young or old.

Great pub just south of Trafalgar Square. Cool vibe, even more so if you happen to be into the famous detective. The upstairs Sherlock display is kinda cheesy, but fun to check out nonetheless. I've been here 3-4 times now and its always been a fun, friendly crowd. They aren't a Fullers pub so they don't have my favorite, London Pride, but they did have a cask beer called London Glory that was pretty darn good. Their own Sherlock house ale is very good as well.

Very friendly staff. Fish and chips were very good (4 stars), but the traditional roast beef Sunday lunch was a bit dry (2 stars). I would come back and order something else to give this place another try.

I would vote this the BEST!!! pub in London, very cosy and an atheistic outside and in. The staff there are very pleasent always with a smile on there faces and the selection of beers and wines is to die for. Im yet to try ths food but each time i smell it it seems delightful, as you can probably already guess a lot of tourist come here but that always leads to a very intrestinf conversation 10/10

Pub bit downstairs - great atmosphere but no room to eat when we went. Staff abrupt. Restaurant no atmosphere, overcooked average food. One party left and loads of diners left piles of uneaten food - obvious why. Staff ok but not great. Had to ask for key to shared toilet which was yuk!
I would go again but I certainly wouldn't eat.

Try the house made draft. Good traditional English for the price. Atmosphere is standard pub style. There's seating upstairs, but it was closed when we went. Gets going a lot more around lunch with the museum and touristy crowd.

Defo must pop in and have a drink on your rounds up london

Mediocre service but GREAT food. My daughter and I were watching BBC Sherlock, and she wondered if 22 Northumberland Rd was a real place. I google mapped it and realized there is this pub. So we went to check it out. The place looks adorable. The atmosphere is great especially upstairs in the restaurant. The service is mediocre at the best. Some of the ladies (I didn't see any male servers upstairs) were a bit surly and had to ask a few times and about 10-15 minutes to get the bill. But the food was AMAZING! I've never had such a great sausage and mash. Their mash with gravy is so good. I've had mash made by Iron Chef US before at an event in Napa, and SHP's mash is better than that. I went back again just to taste that mash and gravy. I've tried several sausage and mash at other restaurants since and it's always a major disappointment. I seriously consider moving to London just to be able to eat here regularly.

This is now definitely my favorite pub in London! Compliments for the fast and kind service on a very busy day. You can say you visited London only after you had beer and fish and chips in authentic pub and this one is a great choice if you want to do that! My honest recommendation for other people visiting London!

Visited twice now. Lovely food even though on the second visit they didn't have Yorkshire puddings to go with the roasts. Would recommend reserving a table in advance.

I was served a nice pint of beer fairly quickly, but staff had no idea of who should be next - one barman serving who he felt like and the barmaid asking “who’s next?” and not always being told the truth.
A tourist trap, but the Aussie I was chatting to didn’t think a 50-60 minute wait for food would be worth it. Considering it didn’t get busy until after he was told this I don’t blame him.
I loved that a Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes film was showing on the telly. Shame I couldn’t stay to watch it.

Great place, decoration is wonderful. Had steak, nice and juicy. My only problem is that they gave me a different sauce from what I specified but otherwise delightful.

Great spot for an afternoon pint in the place of a former hotel named in the Hound of Baskerville

Excellent themed restaurant and food! Had a wonderful time, and Alan, our waiter made the entire experience complete with the history of the building and amazing service! Would eat here again!

Quite a bit of room for small groups. Enough room to park a buggy just. Big selection of drinks.
Unfortunately one of the two ladies toilets not working on a busy Saturday so this led to a bit of a queue.

Staff couldn't have been nicer. The barman no name tag (tatts and dark hair) was really friendly. Chilli hotdog was delicious. The dirty fries were odd but kind of nice.. I'd have both again. Lovely old pub!
P. S.
Been here several times. Great atmosphere. But some times queue to order drinks can be a while depending on what time you're there. Great atmosphere. Lots of memorabilia on Sherlock Holmes.

Great little pub with a Sherlock Holmes theme. Very nice pub grub and friendly staff
