Would 100% recommend!
The only downside is the door staff is very strict in terms of reminding every table how long they have booked for and consistently coming to the table with the duration left. I do understand this as it’s a very busy location but it did remind me of being in a military 😂

W.We visited on a late Saturday night, missing happy hour unfortunately. The drinks were great although admittedly slight expensive and there's outdoor seating, pretty clean toilets and room. Not as busy as soho so there was actually space. The negatives were that when outdoor seating closed, there wasn't loads of seating inside, the music was a tiny bit too loud and I only wished it stayed open for longer, especially on a Saturday night. Enjoyed it whilst it last.

J. P.Let me paint the scene. It was a miserable friday night and there were no plans of having a night out at all. I was tucked away in the library doing my thing, when all of a sudden the phone vibrates. What could this be I wondered?
Out of the blue one of my mates pops up on messenger and says "how about a quick drink in Simmons?". Naturally being the good fella I am, I was like ye why not. One drink never hurt anyone.
We then made our way inside, and as we entered Empire State of Mind came on. This was to be the beginning of a legendary night. Mirko, Morgan and the gang set the mood perfectly, with their friendly attitude, amazing popcorn making skills and of course cheap drinks. They made us want to stay, and that we did.
Not much can be said of the remainder of the night (mainly as it was forgotten), but I have never stopped going back and always enjoying myself.

I actually despair sometimes, there's already one of these fake, uber expensive, uber hip bomb sites 5 mins across the road in Fitzrovia.... farewell my old (and much loved) friend :-(
J. F.This is a great pub near UCL and Goodge Street. Old pub style insidem very cosy but with few seats. Gets very busy in the evenings with a local university staff crowd. A good number of ales and largers on tap. Room upstairs can be reserved.

M. S.Seems a lot of the other reviewers of this pub don't care about the quality of their beers. This pub has a great selection of beers, not the standard lineup of generic beers (Guiness, carlsberg etc etc) that you find at most pubs. This is the reason the prices are a bit higher, and is also the reason why this is a great pub.... for people who appreciate quality beer. Staff is friendly and food is very good.

S. O.As I work close by (like, 20 meters away), this is considered a work local. The pub tends to get very packed in the evenings particularly on Thursdays and Fridays with he classic London pub street spill out. They have a good selection of ales (so my friends tell me, not being an ale drinker myself!) and the lager is good. Food wise, they have some good standard bar snacks, such as Scotch Eggs. They've also recently opened a kitchen and their first resident pop up is Slow Richies. The food is actually very good, particularly the burgers & triple cooked chips. As it's a popular pub with students & academics, finding a seat can be a challenge, though they do have an under-appreciated upstairs section.
