Reviews of Southwark Brewing Company

Awesome! we came with some friends from California to check out London. This "under the arches" brewery was awesome! good ales/beers, hole in the wall atmosphere - with buddies would recommend for a beer crawl stop - funnily we sat next to some other folks from the US ... (when we came there was a shower in the toilet ... which was odd so bring your towel!) lol.
A memorable stop on our beer crawl, would totally recommend!
Beers we really good!

Loved the session ipa at the Southwark brewing company, fresh beers always good. Friendly staff.
D.
Always a great place to have a good pint and the beer is beautiful.
Staff are very friendly and come round asking if we need a refill, Avoiding to have to get up and que. Nice.
Cheers🍻🍻🍻

The ipa/ale choices on offer here are all pretty similar and tbh not to my taste, but each to their own.
Typical pop up micro brewery with uncomfortable cheap seating.
Outside is sitting near traffic zooming past.
There are much much better places around if you look and they don't have an owner/manager that replies to every slightly negative review badly!
Average!

Nice premises and a nice friendly atmosphere from those enjoying a drink. Wasn't overly fussed on their ale offerings but taste is subjective and each to their own, just wasn't for me. Found the person behind the bar a little off to. Would suggest you judge for yourself though as had a good crowd so obviously doing something right :-)

Shame we could not have stayed a while longer, as they had a private party booked, but it was a really nice place to finish our day out with friends. Although it is mainly for beer drinkers they do sell a small selection of wines and spirits plus soft drinks.

Great little brewery under the arches with a selection of cask and keg beers at competitive prices. Plenty of seating in confined space. Fantastic atmosphere. Check opening times before visiting as they are not always open.

Nice bar, friendly staff and great selection of beers

Really nice friendly place, good beers and quiz night 1st Friday of month

The start of our beer crawl. On the larger side of taprooms. They opened later than their stated time (which isn’t that bad) so aim to swing by around 1120 instead. Beers are good but definitely lacking in character. I had the double hopped ale and thought it was decent. Venue seems fun, with a TV and music playing.

Went here for a quiz night. An excellent quiz together with a large selection of beers brewed on site. A very friendly atmosphere. This is really a hidden gem a stone's throw away from Tower Bridge.

Amazing place, wonderful staff and unique atmosphere. It is a working brewery not a pub so come here for a good beer and you would not be dissapoinetd. I hearf there is an option for private party booking but it is best to contact them for more information !

Came for a ceilidh. Great venue with good drinks. Nice feel to the place and the Toilets were nice and clean :)
Only downside was the door staff did let drunk passers by into a paid for, ticketed event, who then spoiled the last dance of the event which really ruined the end of a lovely evening. I

Always a great go-to. The best on the Beer Mile and superb beer. The owners have brought the art of real ale to the BBM amongst so many craft breweries - well needed!

Staff are friendly and beers (ales) are great. They do 1/3 pint which is awesome! Reasonable places to sit and toilet

Love this place! One of my band's favourite venues to play, great atmosphere and Beer!

Great place with really nice beers. Very friendly staff and a good bit of outside space which is covered. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

Peter did a fantastic job hosting us and even made us personalised beers for our engagement. One of our favourite Southwark breweries for a long time now.

Pop in for a pint. Outdoor and indoor table service. Small bar snacks.

This place is one of my favorite places in London to have a pint. The taproom is nice, lots of room to stand and the prices reasonable. Great staff who always make you feel welcomed. i am glad to come back every time I am in London, and you should too!

We couldn't recommend this place enough. Not only for it's fantastic beer on a Saturday afternoon visit but also if you are looking for a private hire venue. We recently hosted a joint 30th birthday party here and Peter and his staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They made us and all our guests feel very welcome and dealt with all of our requests with ease. The evening lights create a great atmosphere and there's no charge to hire, just a £500 minimum spend. Highly recommended.

Firstly, I must say the staff are amazing. Secondly the beer is fantastic. I went for a tour of the Brewery, for 2 hours I was captivated by the owners talk about the history of his Brewery, and the brewing history of beer in the UK and abroad. If you are in the area, please pop in for a pint or two, you won't regret it, even better, go there for a tour, you won't be disappointed. I came away carrying beer and one of their engraved beer glasses. Can't wait to go back for another more 😀 If you like this review, can you please click the like symbol below. Thank you!

We used Southwark brewing for a work night out and they were fabulous, super helpful and accommodating making sure all our requirements were met including arranging a super quiz. The drinks was were interesting and reasonably priced, we even managed to make a number of the team beer/gin converts. Thanks for helping make our team night a success.

Older gentleman at the bar refused to let my boyfriend choose a beer on my behalf (I do trust him!) and insisted on coming outside to where I was having a cigarette with a couple of tasters so I could pick. Great service, friendly vibe and plenty of atmosphere still going at 9.30pm on a Friday where most of the others on this stretch have shut or stopped serving. Love it.

Varied range of lovely beers - some of the best I have ever tasted. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. They know and love their brews.
If you like high quality craft beer, this place is a must for a visit.

Good beers. A little under staffed.
J. W.
Top notch beers, very friendly and knowledgeable staff talk you through the options and offer tasters. Cool venue with pool table. The beer really is excellent and there is a massive range to suit all tastes.
S. H.
Hooray! This is a fantastic little find.
A small brewery and simple tap room, with sufficient space for groups as well as lone ale-hounds.
You can call it 'craft beer' if you like, but it's actually a simple and effective spectrum of good beer, honest beer and proper beer; from a murky Mild to a cracking London Pale.
This is a small and austere setting but it certainly does the job. It's a simple and pleasurable business and, critically for London, one that seems true to itself.
D. F.
Very friendly service, no frills venue and relaxed crowd, exactly the opposite of the many snobby and pretentious alternatives available in the area. Being a brewery, it mainly focuses on its own beers, but the range and quality is excellent.
J. L.
Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area! Went to a Ceilidh here and had a fantastic night. The staff are friendly and their beer selection is full of interesting flavours!
A. T.
More seating in this place than most on the road - great beer selection and friendly staff. I'm not usually a massive pale ale fan but their one was pretty damn tasty
b. p.
Excellent beers particularly the LPA. Staff doing a great job keeping customers safe.
U. C.
Great location, stumbled upon, it by accident. Cool place. It is kinda like drinking inside of the beer vat area . small but has outdoor space
D. H.
Brilliant team of people creating fantastic beer, loved their LPA (London Pale Ale), light and refreshing with plenty of taste, will try the rest of the range
J. M.
Good atmosphere. Decent selection of beers. Lots of seating considering the size.
E. C.
Proper brewery, great beers, and the only "craft" I'd throw at them is the honed skill that's produced beautiful examples of real English beer. None of that over-priced, tiny bottled, nonsense :-)
J. F.
Good casual tap room with friendly staff. Several tables to accommodate groups. Beers to go available as well as.

My local brewery. Definitely a very cool place to expend your Saturday/Sunday evening with your friends.
The beers are very nice.
R. W.
Excellent local microbrewery and taproom serving superb beers.
G. Y.
Much better breweries around. It’s ok. I didn’t drink the whole 1/3 pint glasses.
B.
Super nice little bar within the brewery. Great atmosphere and excellent beers.
A.
The two guys who own it were great, very friendly.
I'm not much of a beer person but what I had was good.
S. W.
Nice beer but the environment isn’t great. Better options on the beer mile
A. N.
Bit hot. But a real brewery. Cosy and a great selection of beer. Delicious
V. c.
Great beer and staff!
M. L.
Great beers, just a bit rammed, and nowhere to sit when I went, although a Saturday on the Mile is going to be a bit rammed.
U. B. T.
Fantastic staff and enjoyable ales from the team at Southwark. Always great to drop by on our weekly walking tours.

(Translated) We visited with Japanese craft beer friends. Orthodox craft beer. We walked from London Bridge and went for dinner. The large shop was comfortable. The chair was rattling, and when the person who was sharing the room stood, I almost fell.

(Translated) The beer of this micro-brewery is very good. Interestingly, the option of renting the premises is to read private parties; To rent it you just have to guarantee a minimum consumption and you can bring your own food and music.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the place and toilets are clean. Recomensible !!

Molt bona la cervesa d'aquesta microcerveseria. Interessant l'opció de llogar el local ler festes privades; per llogar-lo només cal garantir un consum mínim i es pot portar el teu propi menjar i música.
L'ambient és relaxat i el local i lavabos son nets. Recomenable!!

(Translated) Quality craft beer, in the back room it is manufactured and in the front you drink it, very good atmosphere, the decoration fails a little, but it is worth it.
