Reviews of Sports Bar & Grill Canary Wharf
e. “. V. I.
This SB&G is nestled in Crossrail Place, in the financial district of Canary Wharf. Me & my brother wanted to check this bar, as we are planning to book the Fury v Wilder fight.
This place is huge & my word the amount of plasma screens in there is nuts, it's impossible to miss a catch in cricket or a goal in football here.
We had some food & it was absolutely lovely. Great service from the two bar staff and sure will come back here on Saturday night! Thanks
C. B.
Popped in for a couple of pints and a game of shuffleboard. Seemed a nice bar. The beer was standard price for the area (still a shock for a northerner!) and the shuffleboard is a great laugh. Looked like there were lots of other games up for grabs as well. Will visit again when back in the area.
G. H.
Good selection of food and drink which isn't too expensive. Alright atmosphere but some weird mixes of people. Can be rowdy dependent on what sports are showing, but they do always accommodate the sport people want showing - there are A LOT of screens.
Make sure you book to avoid disappointment
M. C.
Me and a friend ended up here on a lim and had the most amazing night. The staff were so attentive and fun- it gave the whole place a great atmosphere. I will defiantly be coming back to see my favourite bar tender- Beth.
T. L.
Came in for lunch today and had a very good experience with my friends here. The place is full of TVs, which I think suits the name and also creates a good environment for big matches. The food and drinks were alright although the prices could be better. Also had the pleasure to be served by a lovely chap by the name of Goncalo. The place looked a bit understaffed as there was only him and another girl serving customers. Even though the service and experience were outstanding! Will definitely come back soon
S. B.
Great place for everything sport. Tv's are everywhere so you won't miss any action! Good atmosphere and service good. Recommended for a lads or ladies sports gathering! 👍🏼
A. A.
Was good, not too busy as there were no scheduled football events. Staff were friendly. No assistance though, when we started to play pool.
S. A.
Cool sports bar . Also offering pool tables and for the girls decent champagne 🍾
C. B.
Nice place, great location. I want to mention on of the food runners (I believe he said his name was John), he was very friendly and hard working, always running around.
G. E.
Brilliant! Great place to watch the big game with decent food and plenty of choice at the bar. Great service too.
Y. P.
Good atmosphere for sports and reasonable for drinks. Sadly food was mediocre at best, across the table and with a range of dishes. Maybe just drinks and sport next time, hence 3 🌟
B. Y.
The atmosphere was very nice. You can enjoy either the pool or darts, also plenty of TV screens to follow sports. I was visiting and needed to take a call in my hotel room so I ordered take away. The steak and ale pie was amazing, not to mention the comfort of mash, rich gravy, and peas. I'd recommend the cheese cake as well, though I was used to bigger pieces.
K. R.
Abbie provided fantastic customer service. Adhered to our reservation and was very attentive.
J. H.
Good place to meet up with the lads
Due to big easy being closed we had to eat at the sports bar, little disappointed with the food as the chicken wings were dry also burger 🍔 wasn't the best.
m. p.
We've had a great time watching the football, rugby, formula 1 and although Arsenal lost it was still a great night and Paulina was superb!! Thank you!!
J. P.
Great service. Abbie was brilliant throughout the whole night and gave us the best possible service. We look forward to coming back and seeing Abbie
D. T.
Big open bright sports bar with plenty of big screens able to show a mix of sports. Beer is good and cold, menu has a variety of burgers, steaks, pizza + vegan options etc
M. F.
Not a bad spot for watching sport, food okay, friendly efficient bar staff and convenient location (for me). On the downside the volume of the sports in the main bar was too loud
M. B. W.
Nice location with amazing selections of classic pub grub! The SouthernAirs! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner 😁
S.
We had couple of beers and pizza here. The pizza was really nice and they have televisions all over showing various sports depending on the event. They have days and pool table as well.
N. d. W.
Watched Ajax-Benfica here while drinking some cold ones and eating a nice burger
B. K.
Exactly what you think it would be and that's a good thing! Lots of screens and good bar service. Get the wings 👌
E. D.
Went to watch the game last night and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful.
Thanks Carl and the team for taking care of us.
Definitely be back and also recommend the place.
All the best guys.
T. C.
Facilities good, like the pitcher idea where you pull your own pints.
Staff insisted a credit card was left behind the bar despite me confirming on two occasions that we will only be consuming the drink we had already prepaid for at booking. Made me feel a little uneasy, why still take a card when I made it clear we will not be buying more drinks.
j. 7.
Staff are good. Food isn't bad. Burgers are good. Lots of space but area around pool tables is limited. They could do with removing one table to give adequate space.
F. M.
A smiling service, well served pints and live football. The hot wings were also delicious. Whats not to like?
A. D.
Nice sport bar in Canary Wharf. Quick lunch service with some lunch deals available (£10 for a main and a beer).
D. B.
Good venue to good to watch football ⚽ on TV. Plenty of TVs..
K. W.
Good choice on menu, prices reasonable, service okay but only visited once when not that busy. Would go again
G.
Friendly staff, sports TV, not checking age restriction, ok for anyone to go to. four stars for reading the review.
A. T.
good bar. decent beer and food choice, catered for all sports happening at the time. recommend the 8 pint asahi beer tap on table 🍺 🍻 😊
S. T.
Good pub for a night out. There are games like pool, darts.. The vibe of the place is amazing and of course the drinks will get you high 😄
E. B.
Plenty of telly to watch the fight. Great bar staff & lovely burgers....
m. c.
Kaitlann and Abbie provided outstanding service, they attended to our requests with enthusiasm and decorum
J. L.
Great service and food. Highly recommend
J. B.
No table service, had to order at the bar and I must have been invisible for about 10 minutes as the bar staff served 2 people that arrived after me, and when I got a table myself I asked could it be cleaned as this was not done after the last people vacated but this was not done the good point was the house burger I ordered was really good.
S. B.
The order and pay app worked really well, quick service and the food was excellent! Shame the shuffleboards have gone though.
P. C.
A great space but always marred by substandard service. A shame because it could be so much better but it's always been like this.
m. P.
Great place for sport! So many tvs. Thanks zac and the team for a great evening
s. j.
I didn't try any of the food, so can't comment on that, but beer selection was good, and there was plenty of screens to watch so you couldn't miss the action!
S. C.
Convenient and lively. The pints are lively which is the least you can ask for. The long Island iced tea is too sweet but cheap.
M. A.
Katie is the best sever I’ve had in central London.
D. T.
Visited for a quick lunch and a drink. Was looked after by a team member called Christoff. Service and food very good. Next time I’m in the area we will stop again.
K. K.
Went here mid week after work, and worth checking out if you like to watch sports. Huge area with multiple seating areas and TVs on every imaginable wall. On the way in is one bar with a darts area, then further out the back the main bar with pool tables at the back. Despite all this, didn't feel like much atmosphere, but perhaps I visited on a quiet night. Location wise is only a few minutes walk from Canary Wharf station, in same space ship (boat?) style building as the Big Easy restaurant.
A. I.
Great for watching matches and decent fast food (burgers). A few decent beers too. If there aren't many customers, food comes very quickly, but the moment it starts to get a little busy, food takes an age... Book in advance if you have discount cards, like Barclays Premier Rewards, as they don't let you use them for walk ins.
n. k.
Had to unfortunately cancel a table last minute for the Euros, staff were absolutely fantastic, really helpful, friendly and understanding. Will definitely be booking to come again another time
U. U.
Used to visit for footbal before covid 19, would have given 4-5. After covid, staff have changed and the service was next to non existent. Especially from the "administrators" or hosts. Quite sad. Food - as you'd expect from sports bar. Wings, cheese related dishes, snacks from the fryer etc. Nothing special but do the job for the game. Seating- when booking ask for the main hall - good atmosphere, nice decor. Entry pathway booths - nothing special.
L. H.
Stumbled across this bar looking for somewhere to eat, and glad we did. Loads of TVs to watch sport, a cool upstairs area with pool and darts, and great wings :)
T. N.
Been here a few times and it's been reasonably good. Lots of screen to show the sports and they have private areas with dart boards and screens if you want to have a private group.
Lots of choices in the menu like grill food and burgers. I had the fish and chips, it was ok but very greasy. Staff need to be a bit more polite when asking to pay, as soon as your food is on your table they come back telling you to pay. They should take the money once you have ordered.
It has a good vibe when the sports is on and there are plenty of seats.
L. D.
Strangely poor choice of beer for a bar.
Not cheap, but tasty.
J.
More than enough TV screens, for those that are interested in watching sporting events, particularly football.
Ok food, but not great value. The service has deteriorated, and they appear to have high staff turnover.
Friendly staff, but not as attentive, even when it's not busy.
During major football matches or some other major sporting events, it becomes extremely difficult to find seats. It can also be a struggle to get standing space, during such events..
Good location and decor.
A. S.
Took about an hour before we decided to go to the bar and order because we figured they must have bar ordering instead of ordering from the booths. They told us “someone will come to your table”. They didn’t. We had to rudely call for their attention several times.
The buffalo wings were really nice (although I ordered twenty and only got eighteen. Some people would call me petty for counting, but that’s alright). The calamari was tasty enough, I guess, but they looked deep fried onions. Not even sure it was calamari I ate. Don’t go for the cheesy fries. They tast microwaved and wouldn’t be enough to feed a sparrow. Tiny portions. But nice atmosphere and the beer was good!
K.
Good quality food, Margherita pizza is delicious, enjoyed the dirty clucker burger and they have some good starters. Ambience is definitely great being a sports bar. Must try! Very warm welcoming staff too.
R. G.
Clean, with good facilities, designated smoking area, fairly good choices.
I feel service good be better, the attitude of 'some' of the people behind the counter could be better.
Got there at 1.30 pm and one of the bars was not even open!!
I also think it would be productive and inclusive, if there was a better balance when it comes to the volume used of the television sets, as some people may want to not also watch sports, but maybe have an opportunity to have a conversation with friends.
D. B.
Great bar, with loads of TV’s
J. J.
Great place a short walk from Canary wharf Station, helpful and friendly staff
k. b.
This place has lots to offer and I can imagine in the height of summer it is packed, but on a wintery January night it was quite quiet when I arrived circa 7pm. It did liven up later (guess I finished work too early) but it was nowhere near capacity. Had southern Belle chicken burger which was tasty. Staff were friendly and courteous and good selection of beers (although I always tend to drink Heineken)
C. M.
Stopped here for a couple of drinks, really nice staff with TVs everywhere! Only reason for four stars is they gave me the wrong beer and didn’t realise until I saw the bill, luckily beer is beer!
J. v. D.
Very nice sportsbar! It's quite large which results in longer waiting times to be served when crowded. The food itself is great. If you want to visit during some sport events (like EPL rounds) it's better to make a reservation. Many screens to watch on from almost every table. Also a possibility to play darts!
A. R.
I have had to review and edit my original review. Me and my friends went back here one year later and wow what a difference!
the dart boards were in excellent condition, the pool tables were great & loving the Shuffle game downstairs!
all the staff we dealt with were exceptional and couldn't do enough for us!
Well done - can't wait to return next year
S. P.
Food is ok, dessert isn't to bad.
J. G.
Nice location, and quite a varied menu.
However visiting on a Sunday for the first time the entire experience is not promising.
Sitting at a table with two friends, being ignored by staff until we called them over.
First up, place order to be told five minutes later that they have no chicken Then told no chocolate milkshake.
So start order process again, browse menu and chose next preference. Success they have items in stock.
Next up, have to open a tab or pay in full before any drinks or food served.
This is the 2st century and not a fast food outlet. Normally would expect to pay at the end of the meal. What if we want dessert? Or extras...
Yet to receive food but it needs to be pretty spectacular to make up for the service so far.
Wouldn't recommend this place purely based on experience so far.
A. F.
Great place for that early morning breakfast .... Lovley food and ambience.. Will surely visit again.
P. S.
Food quality was ok but dishes poorly executed. Raw bacon, way too much sauce, pork ribs not tender at all.
J. P.
Lots of screens and good speakers for sport. Table service is great when busy.
Only downsides are the occasional mix of sound (2 different sports of opposite sides of bar) and the very busy /slow bar that you have to fight your way to if you don't have a table... But there are a lot of tables
J. W.
As usual, very noisy, very friendly with good food at reasonable prices. We had huge rack of ribs, rib eye steak, burgers and fish fingers for grandaughter. Often come Back when visiting Lime House, so must be good.
K. F.
Enjoyed my afternoon watching Premier league football.
J. L.
The most friendly staff in London. I spent may amazing nights in this bar and I don't regret anything. I'd like to thank all the staff for making our night so good.
S. S.
Excels at everything a sports bar should: tons of screens, sports memorabilia and plenty of staff to serve you at your table mid-game/race/match. The sound is generally always up for big events, which sounds obvious but not all bars do this. Also plenty of tables, so getting a seat is rarely a problem even if you turn up late.
If my review was helpful to you, please give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 Thanks!
J. C.
They offer the best wharf I've tried so far. Lovely atmosphere and quite spacious.
3 star for the customer service, the waiting staff were lazy and jsut wandering off
P. H.
Great for sports tv, with a couple of dozen screens scattered around the venue, along with commentary for the main event. The tables can get full quite early but there's usually enough space to stand and catch the action. Bar and table service can be a bit on the slow side.
M. D.
Nice place and lovely food ☺️
D.
Great atmosphere and service was friendly when they made errors but when reserving seats for free they surprisingly requested a month later that we spend £80 minimum on drinks and even requested card details. We spent more than that amount but it was very rude and intimidating to create a last minute condition that we were unaware of.
R.
Always busy, even though its huge. The whole of Canary wharf will pile into here to watch a match. Food and drinks were good and the little private area is nice if you're in a group but you have to book it in advance. There are TV's literally everywhere so you won't miss anything.
V. N.
Really good atmosphere, loads of space, many screens - it's a really good sports bar. Has a smoking terrace as well which is relatively spacious for Canary Wharf with seating area and all. Very chilled.
C. P.
Brilliant Experience here Sunday, Service from Chris was brilliant
K. W.
We frequent this bar quite often as we can always be sure there will be a TV playing the football match we are looking for. And while that’s certainly a great service they don’t try too hard to attract customers in other ways.
The staff are slow and confused when it gets even a little busy, we asked 3 different waiters and bar staff where to order food and got a different answer each time, the food is basic American, and the selection of beers is ok - but could certainly be increased!
Have eaten the loaded fries and nachos (which we wouldn’t recommend as they tasted of nothing but cheese), the chicken tenders which were ok and the ribs and wings which we quite enjoyed.
L. C.
Its ok, they do a decent burger and wings. It gers verrrryyyy busy on a thursday and friday. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat at sports bar and grill but if i fancy something quick and easy it's pretty good. Prices are a little too high for what you get.
H. N.
Love the service and the loaded fries. It can get really busy on nights with sports events. The only downside is that you have to go place the order yourself instead of someone taking your order down.
G. B.
Great place to "throw back a couple" after work. Quite busy after 6pm, but you're usually able to find a seat or booth. The beer is not too pricey, and quite fresh.
J. M.
We had a delicious breakfast here. Service was good, food was good and the cost was reasonable. Re-heating my flat white wasn't too much either! Would recommend.
D. A.
Slightly pricey, but good food and drink choices, good place to watch a game. We went here for the superbowl and they could have honestly used a few more staff, the one sporting were clearly overworked, and for some reason only certain staff could take orders from our table, despite the fact the ones who refused would happily take orders at the bar, very confusing
C. F.
We went to watch a game and Eva, Greta and Catarina served us. Absolutely amazing job, so so so happy with the attention we received, they were all amazing. Thank you so much to them for a lovely evening.
G. O.
Standard sport bar.. a little pricey but does not stay open beyond midnight
S. C.
Great for sports lovers and even this who are not. Tones of screens to watch the game, responsive crowd and nicely busy during game time. When there's no sports on, the place is still a great drinking spot with pretty good food.
R. K.
had a voucher from corporate for two course meal and bottle of wine, booked a table for two in morning for 7:30pm. we reached a little late around 7:45pm. Staff showed no interest, had given table to someone else, I apologised that I was late, and staff was like its your fault.
I was really furious, I called the manager saying 15 mins is not the end of the world, and staff did not bother to call also.
Manager apologised and asked to come back , we went to nearby mall and waited for manager's call for table to be empty. he called after 40 mins and finally we did enjoy our meal. But will never go again.
B. H.
Great atmosphere and service with standard pub food provided
G. H.
London needs more proper sports bars like this place
G. M.
Went here with a group of 5, our initial waitress was very obviously new and didn't know answers to basic questions about the menu but she did get us a more senior waitress who could answer us.
We used our taste cards for a nice discount, so that's a handy perk. Good music and vibe. Food was mediocre/good
Nice spot for burgers and beer
D. M.
Very good for watching matches, nice atmosphere.
I used to go to this bar, I come 1/2 times a week.
The food is very very poor unfortunately and except a couple of people the staff is also bad and not friendly at all.
Bar the bar is good
P. A.
Excellent food and service great to watch sports and c with friends will be back guys great job
D. A.
Lack of drink selection and expensive. But very modern, great attention to detail, nice staff.
Great for sport, many many screens, table service, and places to charge your phone
Etc.
If you don't like sport, probably not a good idea you go!!
J. T.
When working in Canary Wharf for 2 years, this was and still is the only place in the area to watch live sports. The staff within this place are really friendly and there is lots of seating area within the bar. The alcohol is cheap considering you are in canary wharf and the food is geared towards american culinary. Went here recently to watch the UEFA champions league second leg between Manchester United and Paris st germain and when Rashford scored the winning penalty, this place went ballistic. Because this bar is the only sports bar located in canary wharf you get to see and meet a range of people from different cultures and backgrounds which creates a unique experience when watching European football.
J. N.
Good location. Good mix of pub games and sports entertainment. Friendly staff. Often heaving on big events so book early if you can but expect to pay for the privilege.
M. G.
I use this place to have lunch with a friend. At the moment it's not too busy weekday lunchtimes, which is great as we can just walk in and find a table. Guess when The Elizabeth line opens this will change! Good food, good price, good attentive service.
S. S.
Place and food is okay but as sport bar you aspecting to be able at least to watch 1 game of Premier League and at that time all the 12 and more tv screen were showing only rugby
J. M.
A bar with sports. Something 5he wharf has been craving for a while. It's the same as the other Sports Bars in the chain, it's just the location that wins it an extra star.
The food is reasonable and publike and the beer flows and is easy as you can have table service.
j. i.
From the outside it just looks like any old bar but when you go in you realise that it is a really big, modern bar showing lots of sport. There is so much seating in here and so many screens showing all the best sport. The bar staff were very friendly too. It’s a great place to go and have some drinks and watch a bit of rugby!
S. C.
Good soups here but by far the best lunch baguette at the Wharf. Turkey salad mayo salt and pepper. Classic.
C. H.
Had a great time, great viewing for sports and the team were very friendly
2. C. D.
Why are you bitching. If we had this back home we wouldnt complain. Sure service was a bit slow however it was busy. Burgers were perfect. Would come again if it wasnt 500+ miles away. Deliveroo !
A. S.
Hey team!
Came on a date here with a girl/princess...
When her food came out it was the wrong order, which is forgivable.
When I went to pay the machines weren't working due to a power surge... Also forgivable and out of your control...
What was not forgivable was the way she treated your staff which was des respectful and rude.
Thanks for the Comp... And don't worry... Not seeing her again!
Cheers
D. P.
Actually, the place serves a very good meal and dessert with great sporting events being shown on a multitude of large screens.
Find your event, take a seat, make your order and relax!
L. D. P.
Good place! All sports channels you need and super friendly staff with table service. Darts and shuffle board up for play!
R. C.
Shows the games that I've wanted to watch so far. For the food only I would give between 2*. But does whatsit says on the tin. Sports/food/drinks. Generally pretty clean. Wouldn't go just for the food.
S. P.
Had a pretty good night with one or two drinks. Asked the young barmaid for a glass of tap water only to be met with a dramatic sigh and eye rolls.
K. K.
The bar itself is great they have dart boards and shuffle boards so its fun if you want to play a game and have a drink. Service is pretty slow only downside
T. D.
Food, which was lamb burger, was very disappointing. Diet Coke was £3.50!! But the sports viewing was good, they have a lot of tvs. Go for the sports viewing, skip the food.
G. F.
Brilliant pub with a hard working team led by a very strong manager.
M. S.
Pricey but a decent venue for watching the game. Always a good atmosphere. It's a standard sports bar really with a bit more of an emphasis on food.
D. S.
Heftily-priced drinks but still the best (and in some cases the only) place to watch any football match your heart desires.
R. M. (.
Great matchday experience during a packed evening for champions League football. Staff and service in this super busy evening was good and a lively atmosphere and crowd.
H. H.
one of my favourite places to watch sport. always packed, great vibes. the mandatory bar tab on busy game tabs easily gets used up
A. F.
A nice of vibrant atmosphere haven't seen pushing me for long time a little on the expensive side but it is in Canary Wharf what do you expect the staff are friendly enough the toilets could have been cleaner but generally ok thank you I will be returning but I'll go quieter times
T. A.
Been here a number of times, for darts, pool and football matches. Food and service is good. Nice selection of beers.
N. W.
Great place to watch the rugby
L. M.
One of the best places to watch any sport jn London, and for sure the best place in Isle of Dogs. The service is outstanding and the Manager, Mike, extremely polite and helpful. Thanks for yesterday, guys!!
C. F.
Food is average but well priced. The service is good and they show most sporting events.
S. A.
Slow service. Food wasn't great. But a good atmosphere and good venue to watch live sports
D. E.
Some items are a little overpriced but the atmosphere is great and the burgers are good too. Nice selection of draft beers also helps!
G. D.
Excellent Sports Bar! Fantastic service from the guys when we visited on a Saturday afternoon in December! Great place to watch football!
B.
Place is decent enough, had to take a beer back because it was flat and then got into a ten minute conversation / arguement with the barman because he wouldnt swap it. Bit of a joke.
O. D.
Excellent staff and great food! We brought in a baby and they couldn’t be more helpful - even bringing extra mashed potato for him!
D. S.
Jess was absolutely amazing! Saw to our every need! Very attentive and just overall brilliant. Made our evening worthwhile too
M. G. (.
great selection of food and beers. Can watch many different games at the same time. I will definitely be back.
I. F.
Nice sports bar, but it was very crowded and we had to wait pretty long for our beer
M. M.
Great service - great food. Staff were so accomodating and private area to watch the game we requested.
P. L.
The burger was fantastic. Great place to watch live football with tons of screens. Also love the arcades they have here.
R. P.
The food is good. We use our taste card, it's a great sports bar.
M. C.
Excellent service, delicious food, friendly staff, & a lovely atmosphere, & to top it all off Ireland won the Rugby, The perfect ending to a Saturday afternoon,
🇮🇪🍀👌💋
P. M.
Great food and service as always
A. O.
Amazing live sports venue with the best chicken and steak menus you can eat this side of London. Not expensive either.
S. 7.
Busy, very busy with a match on. Not enough staff to handle food and table service. Food and drinks fine.
V. D.
Great location and tasty food. Great if you aren't looking for some exotic menu choices. Nice ambience and decor.
D. K.
Assuming you're here to watch sports this is a great place. Burger was really nice, decent selection of beer and great atmosphere.
J. P.
As a sports fan, just what is needed in the heart of canary wharf. Huge selection, decent food. No complaints here.
J. F.
Decent enough pub/bar style food if a little expensive for what it is. Good range of sports on and friendly staff
A. K.
Decent food, although I think they mostly defrost their meals or have a fast food style kitchen. Service is iffy
A. B.
Very good place to watch sport but get there early to get a table! Pool and darts, many screens to watch sport and serves food if your hungry
W. W.
Always very good for the football. Attentive staff and good mobile ordering service.
S. L.
Brilliant atmosphere. Staff can be a little uptight but it's worth it for the buffalo wings
C. O.
Good food and service. Great place to watch the footy in Canary Wharf. Burgers are decent too.
E. C.
The atmosphere in here is great. It's a lot more laid-back than other places in Canary Wharf.
P. G.
