Feel like this place is getting review bombed maliciously because this place is great. Staff are really friendly, especially with the axe throwing. It's a cool place with a nice atmosphere. Only complaint I heard from our group was there was one bartender that was quite rude but besides from that, we all had a great time

4 stars for the beer selection as well as some interesting spirits gains a star for serving Siren beers on draught as well as some rarer craft brews and having Diplimatico Rum in! Gets very busy but the staff are great you normally need to book ahead but then it is Shoreditch! Worth a visit!

Seems unassuming from outside but had a few surprises on tap, including a couple of breweries I've only ever encountered once or twice in London. Super friendly staff and nice vibes throughout. Only slight is the somewhat careworn nature of the place and smell of the toilets. Definitely worth a visit.

The beer is great, but the kitchen closes at 10pm!! Too early!! After 10pm, they only.offer peanuts or crisps, nothing else. I'd recommend to arrive early since it can be really crowded!!

Burger was amazing definitely one of the best in London, just only one piece of bacon on the burger which let it down. My girlfriends drink took an hour to sleep serve through the app, would recommend gping to the bar.

Good place for a beer on curtain road, Steigel on tap is a great shout for house lager. Outside now mich better since they cleaned it up. Def one for the sunshine days in the yard!!

I have eaten here twice during my time in London and have so far had the best burger ever. I ate in the upstairs bar and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place.

Strongroom consistently do really really fantastic tastings. From their regular Whiskey Wednesdays that happen about once a month to the occasional Gin tasting. The tasting venue is pretty small so you get your money's worth and a good chance to be educated and ask questions. Much better than going to actual distilleries in my opinion. Bar downstairs is really big too.

Nice place to chill with friends and the outdoor space is quite big. Seats and table are a bit shakey but none the less its a vibe to have a drink there. There are heaters on the side which benches but none in the middle. Also more of less all the seating area is covered from weather conditions. Drinks are average price and its worth it as a late night drink or a group.

Been a few times and always have a great beer selection. The staff also let you know before you order one of the more expensive pints by accident which has saved me a few times. The free SNES is definitely a great addition. One of my go to pubs when I'm going out for dinner in Shoreditch!

The garden area is provided with covered seating which proved to be quite useful as there were a couple of strong showers during our stay there. Service was very quick which doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of places since pubs reopened.

Really good pub with large outdoor area

Always a lovely atmosphere here, especially in the backyard beer garden! You are seated on benches, so unless you are in a big group you'll share your table with others. Very social, great place to see old friends and make new ones. During peak times, there can be a line at the bars (two inside and one outside) but I seldom waited for more than 10 minutes to get a drink which I find very reasonable for London.

I will say google wasn't overly helpful with directions taking me past the step free door and the alternative entrance and telling me I'd arrived at another place... inside there were friendly staff, comfy seats a decent drink choice and the food was good too - the chips stood out. I was there for a live music night and the effort put in to ensure the acts sounded their best was clear. Great evening.

Nice casual place to hang out. A large indoor bar area and pretty spacious outdoor area. Great spot for meeting up with a semi large crowd. As the outdoor area is so big it's a hit during the summer and you don't feel bad for being the smoker in the group. Bouncers are also friendly and will tell someone in the queue not to waste their time if they think they are too drunk. Would definitely recommend

I loved this quirky little shoreditch gem, it was vibrant and filled with friendly staff. It was very quiet when I went at around 2pm, lovely and peaceful for lunch. The only downside is there isn’t a huge selection to choose from when eating there, and the dishes contain some odd things. There are good lunchtime deals on. Other than that, it is a lovely place to sit inside or chill out in the sun. Also, I don’t think the staff should be taking personal calls while on the floor, especially not shouting and swearing down the phone..made me giggle though!

Trendy bar and outside area, great for summer weather. There's often live music downstairs, with some pretty great local artists. There beer selection is surprisingly good, and they do tap takeovers for great UK craft breweries. Was very happy to stumble across this place, especially as it lacks the pretentiousness of a lot of Shoreditch bars

Love this place! Great selection of drinks, lots of outdoor seating - though the sofas inside aren't very many. Place gets busy on some days so if bringing a group, reserve before you arrive! Try the Stiegl beer if you haven't before. Queues for a drink are never too long either - there's a bunch of bars around the venue and great staff

Love it! going there often and is always full of people both inside and the outside area which is big and has also heaters 😌 There is a table football inside and an arcade machine that I am playing with friends! Cool craft draught beers replacing them over time.

Love the outside courtyard area which is perfect provides a lot more space than inside, with an outside bar and rotating street food vendors. I think they also have live acts going on at weekends but I tend to have been on weekday nights so more of a work crowd, albeit Shoreditch style so no suits I site. There's also lots of space inside for the winter months. There's a good range of beers on offer, although nothing out of the ordinary and there's less choice at the outside bar. Not tried eating there.

Nice and trendy with a large space outside, great in the summer. On the weekend it get very busy and there is a wait to get in. Good to go for beer and maybe wine. The few times I ordered other drinks here other than beer or wine it was not great, so stick to the traditional drinks to be safe.

Depending on when you go to Strongroom, it can be a totally different place. During the day, it's a very quiet place where I've found myself working. In the early days of the week, it's a great place to hangout in the evening: it's a calm and chill atmosphere. The closer to the weekend, the more lively it comes and the atmosphere changes completely to that of a typical Shoreditch bar. The selection of beer is good and the food.. well, it's both cheap and excellent.. and they have got good healthy options. You might want to consider it.

The good thing about this place is the outdoor beer garden area. It's big and they've added more seating since I was last there. There is outdoor heaters and it's really a nice chill spot. Indoors is fairly big with 2levels and a back room area. The music here isn't the greatest to my taste but if its your cup of tea then good for you. I will say this the bar does have that old stale alcohol smell which isnt great. Because of the negatives in my opinion I've given this place a 3 star rating.

Hidden away in the back streets is this little gem. Big outdoor space which is amazing to stand and socialise in on a warm summer evening. The bar is a bit too small...that's my only complaint. Good beer and staff. A cool building and a nice crowd drinking there.

Gets very busy weekend evenings, with a queue to get in. Can be very expensive, particularly for beers. Regular events such as quizzes, discos and beer festivals. Great bar down a nice alley way opening up to a good sized cobbled beer garden that gets the sun most of the day, and is away from the traffic. Serving good food, and an excellent selection of beers from around the world (strong focus on European wheat beers, pils and lagers). Can get pretty crowded after works, especially on a Friday, so get down early if you want to get a seat.

Huge selection of beer particularly IPAs. They have live bands playing and an outdoor seating area with heaters as well as two floors of seating. The prices of drinks vary with the type of beer you order. They also have a large range of cider and wine too. One of the best things about this place is that they have a "not for profit" restaurant, so they serve food at an incredibly cheap price. Burgers at £5, desserts at £3, portion of fries for £1.50! Something I have never experienced in the Shoreditch area before where I'd typically expect soaring prices! I would definitely visit again. Unfortunately, they did run out of some beers where we had to go downstairs instead to buy them or for some beers they completely had sold out, but considering the amount of choice this was not an issue.

There's big open space and they also have an indoor area with 2 floors, multiple rooms and 1 futzball table. Chill place, laid back with free entry all night (that's the extra star to make it 5). That aside, nothing special. I'm not an expert in beer but everyone seems to be there for those. I don't think they do fancy cocktails.

A decent place to quench your thirst at the end of a work day in Silicon Roundabout. There's an outdoor area that fills to the brim at about 6pm on a week night so if you can get in earlier, secure a table and you're good to enjoy your drinks in comfort. Prices are reasonable for London and the bar staff are efficient in serving you. There's an indoor area with its own bar so if you see a queue at the outdoor bar, head inside and you'll likely be served considerably quicker. Recommended.

The beers tend to be a bit on the pricey side for me, but perhaps that is just shoreditch (I did spot a delicious tasting apricot sour on sale which was just under 4%, but at over £8 for a pint of it, I steered clear unfortunately - but there were £5 alternatives available)

The Fat Bear is above the Rising Sun pub, with the entrance tucked into a little alley off Carter Lane. It's a nice, cosy restaurant with a lovely ambiance. We had a set menu, served family style, and the food was seemingly never-ending! There was a great variety of dishes to try, and although some were definitely better than others the food was very tasty. Although I hate to think how many calories I consumed! The service was also good, with the staff very friendly and helpfully explaining each dish to us as it was brought out.

The food menu is great, catering to different diets, but it’s also not for profit, so ridiculously good value - probably the best value food you’ll find in shoreditch as a whole. This is a great place! There is a front room for sitting and drinking near the bar. There is an upstairs area where you can order food. It is very small up there, but still nice. There is a strange isolated area below the eating area. Small but adequate toilets. The outside area is huge and has its own bar out there. There is a back area outside that can be reserved for events. Only complaint is that the outdoor area is also a driveway or parking lot or something. So you often are standing and drinking in a group and then a car slowly drives up to your group and you need to find somewhere to move to.

Without doubt one of the best pubs in Shoreditch and perhaps the best beer garden. I’ve been going there for almost 10 years. Amazing stories to tell, great atmosphere, excellent music in the lower ground... ONE OF THE BEST PLACES IN LONDON!

I really, really love this place. My friend celebrated her birthday there and we rented a little area in the back. The music was really good, like soul and funk the whole night. The outside area looks great with loads of colorful lights. Can definitely only recommend going there :)

Funky, spacious bar that was originally a recording studio and previously called The Travellers Rest. There's a wide selection of beers, about ten draught and many bottled, whiskys, whiskeys and gins, and has some tasty and original cocktails too. It has several floors, a spacious outdoor area and features live music. The staff are friendly and helpful (I may be a little biased as my son works there, but I've visited before he started and would have said the same) and there's an interesting menu, if a little small, but better small and well done than large and mediocre, and the food is excellent. The decor was designed by and features original artwork from Sex Pistols' designer album cover Jamie Reid. Prices are reasonable, especially considering its location. Worth a visit.

It has such a friendly atmosphere here. You can pretty much talk to anyone and they have a great selection of quality beers, ales, wines and food. The outdoors area is huge and has a bar, perfect place if you want to avoid loud music in your ear and have a conversation with friends.

Accessible through a little back-alley this bar has a non-pretentious atmosphere, a artsy/patchwork decor and a good selection of Belgian and German beers ;) The bar is spread on 3 areas: - Comfy sofas / Dining tables on the top floor. - Baby-football and dance floor on the lower one. - A backyard with wooden bench/tables (with heaters!). I always had a good time there, it's a must. Cons: Prices, crowd on weekend.

A fantastic place in the heart of shoreditch! They open very early in the morning and close at midnight! They offer nice breakfast, good coffee, affordable food, many different kind of beers and different areas to have a great time. Two indoor locations, four music studios and the best beer garden in the neighborhood!

Strongroom is slightly hidden away down an alley and probably one of the lesser known Shoreditch bars, but definitely worth a visit. The outside is covered in beautiful greenery that makes the place look really great, and when I went, they had fresh flowers decorating the room which smelt amazing. For a Tuesday night, the place had some life about it, but not busy and they had a live DJ playing. They have a pretty good selection of beers and ciders on draught and bottles, and plenty of staff to serve you. The vintage sofas are super comfy too, so all in all a good place for some quiet mid-week drinks with friends.

The pub itself is decent and offers a good variety of ales. The outdoor space is what I come here for - the big bushy ivy surrounding you on every wall that really takes you away from the busy streets of London. Nice little green refuge in the middle of Shoreditch.

Nice place, part indoor part outdoor. The security control at the entrance it's a lil' bit too invasive (they checked me in every pocket and even inside my wallet!), but once inside you don't care anymore. Good drinks, music, you can dance or simply chat on the sofa.

My husband and I had a decent dinner here last night. He got the apricot and beer-braised pork neck whilst I got the quinoa and butternut squash salad. We also each ordered the Belgian lambic. We sat upstairs. We got there about 8pm. You’re supposed to order food at the bar but it was slammed so our experience was enhanced incredibly by the blonde, lovely Romanian waitress who got our orders at the table. My husband asked for a cut to not be very fatty and the cook obliged, which was a good experience for him. I also got my salad without dressing. For the price it’s an excellent value. My husband said his meal wasn’t the best taste he ever had but was satisfying. Ditto with my salad- nicely roasted butternut squash chunks but not the best I’ve ever had. But my my meal was huge! There’s are no official takeaway boxes (boo on you Strongroom!) but our lovely waitress somehow scrounged a plastic container for me and kitchen roll. So nice! The entertainment offered seems to be pretty cool; I would definitely come back for that.

A nice hidden away bar that I recently went back to (April 2015) after a while away and I noticed that they have refurbished the bottom level area. They have St Stefanus (on half) which is a great Belgian beer. Strong like Leffe but it’s one the a few good beers there to choose from.

It may not be the swishest joint in Shoreditch, but there is something very charming about Strongroom. The staff are lovely - very chilled out and fun - and they had a good DJ spinning chilled out tunes when I visited on a Tuesday evening. The food and drink menu is very good - I had the vegetarian platter which was tasty and perfect for filling up before a few drinks - and a strawberry beer which was much less sickly sweet than usual. However, the best thing about Strongroom is the lovely leafy area outside - great for escaping the rest of Shoredtich / hanging out in the sun when the weather is good!

This place is choice, and my go to for a promising night out in Shoreditch. Tank beers, great garden with heaters, cocktail bar upstairs, variety of music and events happened perpetually. It may be non-descript from the outside but this place is a gem no matter your preference or appearance.

Hidden away from the madness of Curtain Road, Strongroom is an oasis of calm. You have to pay attention where you going or you miss the entrance. The entrance is covered in green foliage.The deco is lounge at one side and tables and chairs the other side. I really enjoyed the live DJ tunes. Strongroom isn't a place you'd think much of if you haven't been, but it has a great vibe and is a chilled setting away from the hubbub of Shoreditch. wandering the streets looking for somewhere to get a little bit steaming, this was the first pub I came across, I wanted to keep it classy so thought I’d have a cheeky glass of red, only to find out they have the weakest wine collection in london, a house white and a house red does nothing for me. So I had no choice but to drink hard spirits all night which is my own fault for being too posh for Pinot. A few dosen drinks later I was outside being sick on the pavement, look up and one of the staff members had a big smirk on his acne covered face (lower your dairy intake), I’m not gonna lie I did call him a c u next tuesday, but I was lying, I won’t see this pub again! The Strongroom Bar tucked down a beautiful cobbled street off Curtain Rd is a musicians venue.... naturally, seeing as it is connected to the famous Strongroom Studios. The layout of the performance, upstairs dining/ bar and outside courtyard are carefully balanced for a wide range of music events. The sound system is great. the staff are helpful and very cool, the tech spec is great, sound engineers very good at their job and unflappable... the outside area is comfortable and the food good and fairly priced. A great spot covered in the iconic art of Jamie Reid.

I love this place, they always have good music on, either from a cd or a DJ downstairs. They do mulled cider in the winter, it is on the tad expensive side, but you are in Old Street so what do you expect. There's lots of places to sit, upstairs, downstairs even outside. When you try and find the place, it does look like you are walking down someone's drive, but you must persevere. Me and my friends will usually start here as there is always someone to stand and if you're lucky somewhere to sit. Would definitely recommend.

This place gets a big four stars for me because they have the fantastic Pilsner tanked in straight from Prague and it tastes amazing, the downside is of course you are paying Shorditch prices so you are looking at around a fiver a pint which of course begrudgingly pay. A nice, quaint, tucked away place on the bustling Curtain Road, don't miss the entrance which is into a courtyard. It is quiet, at least in the afternoons and early evenings...later on, Strongroom becomes your typical Shoreditch bar as the crowds flow in. Good choice of drinks, Aspall cider, and more than decent pub food. Try the sharing platters, they also have a vegetarian option. The music is good (for my taste at least) and I especially like the large tables, so that you can actually chat to people intead of just standing awkwardly.
