S. M.A tremendous set of menu, nice ambience, and good service from the kind staff. My experience in this restaurant is phenomenal. Not only their food was amazing, but they also made it feel like I was dining in an elegant 5-star hotel.

S. B.Nice local pub where everyone will probably feel welcome. We have a very decent roast dinner, wine was good too. Music choice was strange (bad dance music) and the manager forgot to bring my tap water, but overall, really decent place.
J.Cozy local pub with friendly staff and a decent selection of Young's beer and ales. Sizeable beer garden in the back with an outside TV.
The food however is a little pricey for what you get, the blue cheese burger (in the pictures) was £15.95. The main let down was the fat chips on the side, if it had been real potatoes as opposed to whatever that was I'd have said that the price was spot on, but those chips really did ruin it all. If you're thinking of ordering food I'd avoid anything with fat chips on it if I were you.

A.I enjoyed having a sunday roast at the Thatched House. The staff was polite and they were very informative when I called to do my booking.
The decoration and the space is amazing and it's all super clean. It follows the covid regulations but the staff does not wear face mask.
The food itself was good and plenty in the plate with a variety of vegetables.
The only down side for me is that there were no burgers on sunday. But I will come back for it any other day. I would recomend this place.

E. L.The food was great and the atmosphere cosy and warm. Unfortunately, our experience was spoilt by the occupants of the next table's dogs that continously barked throughout our meal.
It's nice to have dog friendly places, but it would have been nicer if the dog owners had been more responsible for their pets.
I did say this to a member of staff but he just laughed and did not acknowledge what I had said. I will not be returning.
V. D.We booked a family party for 50 people - the private function area of the pub is light and airy and with the doors open out into the garden area it was the perfect environment for us. We arrived 15 minutes early and it was no problem - the manager and his team had Prosseco poured into glasses in no time! The service was brilliant - the staff were very friendly and very organised too. The table wine was kept stocked up throughout the afternoon and the food was excellent. Lots of compliments to the chef from our guests. Many thanks for a fabulous afternoon spent at the Thatched House - we would highly recommend it to anyone planning an event.

S. P.Fantastic value! A round of drinks for 2 of us for £9.20 and today (Wednesday) was burger night so we got a burger for £7 each. The burger was really good and would have been worth it for £14. They show sports also. Will definitely go back!

S. E.Lovely place... great atmosphere... charming beer garden... 🍻🌿Exquisite food. It has a great feel to it and the staff are lovely. Great decor... only things letting them down would be the damp musty smell in the ladies toilets (they are doing everything they can... it's just a damp old building) and the prices... just a hair too expensive given the area (£14.50 for a pork belly roast??? Come on... £12.50 for a vegetarian stew??)

A.Visited on Friday at 4.30pm for a bite to eat and were welcomed most cordially. The venue has a lovely vibe and the staff are more than helpful. Chris (who took my booking multiple times as I decided what time we could get there) explained the menu very well and pointed out what dishes could be changed for someone who is gluten free, diary free etc etc. We settled on the halloumi fries for starters, salmon and veg for one main and Pie of the Day (Steak and Ale) for me, oh and a burger for the dog (yes they are very dog friendly!). Food was impressive, all piping hot and extremely tasty. I highly recommend this place and will be back for sure,. Thanks very much Thatched House team.

F. G.Visited for dinner on Wednesday for the first time. Pub looks gorgeous and clean, and the outdoor area is very airy and pleasant. I’ve ordered the beef burger which was delicious, much better than your average pub’s burger and when I saw my friends’ steaks I’ve got food envy as they looked so juicy and of very decent size. We were served by Diego was was super friendly and chatty and definitely contributed to make our whole experience outstanding.

C.Been here lots with friends & a few times, family dinner(pre-Christmas ) it's a really nice place, more of a posh pub, than a real pub, it's changed very much over the years, still enjoyable, the staff are very friendly & very helpful. The food is is ok, very well presented, but a bit hit and miss! Some things are really really nice and some things are just not that great. My roast beef dinner was fantastic except for the roast beef, it was tough. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit rubbery, microwaved. Don't get me wrong, it still tasted good but texture was wrong. It's still always very enjoyable to eat in there & definitely family friendly. An additional plus point, for some, not me, dogs are also welcome!!!

The staff helped me plan the event, arranged the room beautifully and prepared excellent food & drinks for the event. Nice room with enough space for guests and a small band. Very helpful and friendly staff. My friends are already asking me about next year's repeat celebration!
B. J.I have been to Thatched House numerous times but this time was disappointing. I ordered pork belly and the pork was chewy, the skin not crispy and the veg was cold. I also had a lot of bones in my pork.
I love the new refurbishment and the vibe feels cosy.

G. W.Not a fan of the exterior, as it clashes with the classic interior, but there is nothing else to dislike. This is what UK pub dining at the top end should be like, great food (healthy old school portions), great service, classic interior, and a real open fire for the winter.
This place is great for families, couples, and friends, not so good for football fans, or drunks. No TV screens, no slot machines, just good food and conversation, in good surroundings.
E. L.Been here twice now. First time was New Years Eve, and then a Thursday night. Pub hasn't been that busy either times (which i still find odd because it is an excellent pub). The food is amazing! The burger is wonderful even the fries.Really good! Sticky toffee pudding was nice, very rich, honeycomb ice cream was fabulous but needed more with the large pudding. Staff are very friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Beer garden is pretty cute too (although could use a little bit more green). Definitely will be returning!

My first ever review .Hopefully it was just a bad day for that staff member , Would have preferred a relaxing lunch , with my friends and children.
3.Went for an evening meal with visiting French friends, we were all very impressed. Excellent food (the fish and chips were amazing, good beer selection as well as an English champagne) even on a busy pre Xmas evening. There was also a great ambience with a festive band playing too. The staff were also very helpful. Highly recommended.

Last Friday me and my family, 22 of us that we haven't meet all together for long time, we decide to had a night out and we booked at the thatched house. It was the second time that I've been at the pub and definitely I will go back again. The food was so good and the service was absolute prefect. To manage such a big group of people in one table it's not easy , especially my family 😁. I don't know how they did it but all was perfect. And a big thanks to Kiri for make it happend, he was so patient with us and he help me to organise everything. Guys you are all amazing thank you very much we definitely we coming back!

A. C.I’ve always been really impressed with this pub. The food has always been restaurant standard and the atmosphere a really good balance between smart and casual with a real log fire. My most recent visit was a bit disappointing though. The addition of a tv showing football really destroyed the atmosphere and cheapened the place. The food also wasn’t up to the same standard. I wonder if the chef or management has changed. The mussels were advertised as provencal but the sauce had a strange yellow appearance and curry flavour. We queried it but they insisted it was tomato. The mains were fine and I don’t want to write it off completely but its descent from great gastro pub into a football pub is really disappointing and will make me les likely to go again.

Managers Aska and Tom were amazing they worked with us on the menu, layout of the room, garden and everything else. They were supportive and helpful and went the extra mile. The food and service for our sit down meal was really great. All the staff were very hard working and nothing was too much bother. Great hosts! great staff! great venue! a must for weddings etc. A lot of my guest complimented everything about the day well I think they all did. Had lunch today of roast pork belly, mash, cabbage and a Delicious reduction.
Excellent service and staff and a relaxing open fire with leather couches to get cosy in.

S. B.I've always enjoyed eating at this Gastropub but as each visit passes my desire to return diminishes.
I checked their Sunday menu before booking and saw that they had Lamb Shanks on. I've had this here twice before and it has been excellent. However when the menu came to the table it was different to their online menu and shanks had been replaced by Lamb Rump.
The Lamb was ok but it was to rare for me and quite fatty. However overall the roast dinner was excellent.
Sadly twice in our last four visits we have been overcharged. Last time my partner and were charged for three dinners when we only had two (one each). This time we were just overcharged. Roast lamb was £16 somfor two were it should have been £32 but we were charged £37. We were told that it was an error due to the change from shanks to rump but looking at the menu for shanks that didn't add up.
I can only suggest you check your bills very carefully. I suspect it is possible everyone who had roast Lamb today may have been overcharged.
A nice little earner no doubt.
Finally when processing the credit card payment the first attempt failed and was voided. The waitresss left both the customer and the merchant copy of the cc receipt on the table. The merchant copy contains information that isn't on the customer copy and it is a breach of their agreement with the merchant not to retain and protest it.
Overall great food and a great atmosphere but check those bills
