Reviews of The Admiral Codrington

It's not a bad pub. The word would be "cosy". But the first time I went there, I was trying to make a good impression on my new colleagues, boss and company CFO. Got showered with a pot of ketchup over a thin wool jumper and my windbreaker. Completely killed the mood. Those rounds of pints really came in expensive as soon as I got the dry cleaners bill.

Admiral Codrington was recommended to us as a busy gastro pub, but I'm thinking it's a bit past it's prime. The place was very quiet when other places in the neighborhood were quite busy. But the food was very good, and the service was excellent (but we were the only two patrons of the dozen or so in the pub who were eating).

Brilliant pub, go visit

The food was decent, but a bit pricey. I appreciate the location can't be cheap but unfortunately from the pub sign outside to the interior decor it looks pretty tired. Visited a weekend lunchtime, my ale had clearly been sat in the line since at least the night before

Can't say enough about this place. We ate there approx. 4 times during a 12 days trip in November. One of which was for Sunday Roast which was perfection. Get there early on a Sunday (like before 1:30 pm) if you plan to have the traditional Sunday meal. They do Open Table reservations which make it simple even if you're 10 minutes away. We hit them up on a Tuesday for burger night where my husband had a Chorizo and Prawn burger while I had a traditional beef burger with bacon and cheddar. Both were quite good. We also enjoyed their Fish and Chips several times. The pub house beer (a Cask I believe) was excellent, give it a try. Good prices, reminder that you don't get shoved out the door like American restaurants, you can take your time and enjoy the ambience.

Sadly this is no longer a gastropub at all. Service is very friendly, nice beers, nice pub with outside area. But food has gone seriously downhill. Used to be *really* good but after their renovation a few years ago only hard tasteless burgers etc. So sad.

Lovely atmosphere and a pretty nice pub.
The food was good, we all got burgers and were fairly impressed.
The chips were really the star of the show, the triple cooked fries were mostly roast potatoes and the cheesy truffle fries were really tasty with a proper cheese used on top (not rubbish cheese that tastes of nothing!).
Definitely enjoyable for a quick lunch.

Hidden in Chelsea is this Gastro pub. Very clean, friendly stuff, small but appropriate wine list and very very good food! Extremely happy eating there on the last day of my trip. Kids friendly too! An absolute must.

Good food friendly staff although somewhat noisy as disco in the pub

Nice pub with very friendly staff. Not often in the area but would definitely visit again if I was passing
