Reviews of The Albert
X. S.
My parents and I enjoyed The Albert as our first meal in London. It was a beautiful sunlit and stylish pub. Very popular as there were reservations on almost every table. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed the British steak and ale pie. The sausage alone was different than what we’re used to but when you do a sausage, gravy and mash combo it was scrumptious! We were famished and it hit every spot for us!
m. o.
Alot of different beer taps. Nice customer service. Fish 'n chips 'cmon guys uou can do better! For alberts sake :)
L. E.
A stunning building. Staff were polite and friendly. Food was fresh and hot. I don't live in London but if I did I would definitely go on a regular basis.
J. C.
Nice pub for a beer and something to eat. Staff are friendly and they serve a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits as well as a selection of food
J. S.
Decent pub, good drinks selection. Gets very busy on Saturdays or when there's a rugby game on, so best to book if you want a seat. A lot of the tables are high level ones with stools, but the larger group tables seemed to be normal tables.
J. B.
Remembrance Sunday so pub packed and took a while to get used to the noisy but lovely atmosphere. Good service but food not up to standard. Manager lovely. Not my scene so will not go back. If you are a real pub person then probably fine but in London I think I will stick to restaurants.
Y. 0.
Beautiful place and very good food experience. Drinks were good too and the staff was very nice and kind. I've got served by a lovely girl with curly hair who was very polite and helpful in choosing our food and beverage. Definitely coming back.
C. D.
I enjoyed both the fish and chips and Meat pie and of course the ale! This was my first time with both dishes so I don't really have anything to compare it with so all I can say is that I enjoyed it, especially the meat pie! Plenty of seating and ambience was great. The bar is really nice as well, big as expected! Awesome old style building between modern ones. See my pics
C. '. H.
Nice pub with lots of seating.
A bit on the touristy side, but a lovely building with lots of character.
I. S.
A geat classical pub. Beautiful ancient ambience. Nice and gentle staff. Tasteful larger. Sports channels if you fancy it.
A. S.
I visited about 6:30pm and the pub was very busy with after work drinkers. The building looks attractive inside and out. The beer was good. I had somrthing to eat and It was more than satisfactory but I had to wait a while as it was busy. We had excellent service from a young man with a ginger beard who was friendly and attentive.
H. T.
Friendly staff, reasonably priced food, and of course the selection of alcohol plus historical heritage of this pub makes this a must-visit! Reminds me of Fraunces Tavern in NYC
C. B.
Fabulous pub with buckets of charm and beautiful architectural detail both inside and out. Spacious, yet friendly, I would highly recommend.
T. D.
Very nice pub with great food. I spent a very good time here.
C. F.
The building has to be my favorite building in London. The food was pretty good but the service was not that great. They couldn't serve the beer I ordered (off the menu) because it was only available downstairs. It took the server forever to take our order and then the only other time we saw her was when she brought our food to us. I asked for the missing sauce that was supposed to accompany my meal and never saw another staff member again. I had to go retrieve my bill from the bar tender to close out. Disappointed for my first experience there.
A. C.
Fantastic pub with real quality beer.Only thing that troubled me was the heating on so high I came away with a sun tan.🤣🤣🤣🤣
S. W.
Delicious! We stumbled upon this place as most other places were closed for the bank holiday and we're sure glad we did. I wasn't too hungry so my sister and I split the large fish and chips and it was just the right size. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly.
R. W.
The food was good with large portions at a reasonable price however there are some areas which need improvement. The toilets are dreadful, you walk down some narrow, steep steps into what can only be described as the worse toilets you've been in. Urine covered floors, the toliet seat not being attached, graffitied glass above the sink. It's just a very unpleasant place to be. If you are planning on drinking here, I'd highly consider somewhere else as someone who is drunk is likely to struggle on the stairs. The pub is lovely otherwise which is a shame as I can't overlook just how bad the toliets really are. Fix them and you'd easily get a 4/5 star review.

Great traditional Pub in the middle of modern buildings
K. E.
Fair selection of drinks (I went for some GK Ice Breaker Pale - tasty), and the location is very handy in the heart of Victoria. The food didn't seem like it was made fresh, with some of the vegetables served out cold, and the quality of the ingredients on the low end of the spectrum. That being said, it filled a gap and was by no means a terrible meal.
V. S.
Oh it was actually very good! Got a nice chance to taste decent fish and chips, along with excellent beer and cider. The location is nice and this place works on Sundays which was just what we needed, coupled with good prices. Enjoyed the atmosphere and very friendly staff as well.
K. D.
Absolutely loved the Albert Tavern! The steak pie was phenomenal as was the Local Cider. Best Cider any of us have ever had. The beer was good as well. Any return to London would include a trip to the Albert for Steak Pie and a Cider for sure!
V. S.
The fish was nice. A bit pricey, but cosy and quick and friendly service.
S. J.
Fantastic little pub, the staff are really friendly the food is great and the variety of drinks avaliable is brilliant. I really do reccomend coming here as its in a great location too!
M. J.
This place was alright. The service was good. The food was all very so-so. Definitely Get the beers on tap - the bottle selection was poor.
This was our first dinner in London, so we thought it was only right to get Fish n’ chips. The fish was good.. the chips/fries not do much.
M. E.
Great pint and friendly atmosphere. Love coming here when I’m London.
M.
The food here is good. Service was decent. Only issue I had was the bar. I asked for an old fashioned and the bartender said he didn't know how to make it. We told him how and he said they don't get a lot of request for that one and he couldn't make. They appear to be pet friendly as well.
A. R.
Lovely pub great food credit to the Greene King group
C. J. G.
Very good hygiene measures in place.
Great selection of Beers and nice food. Good location.
K. F.
Had drinks yesterday evening. Great vibes, cold pints and friendly staff!
P. C.
Fab place to stop off om your tour of London
R. K.
Nice meal and beer, friendly staff, excellent location, I really like it.
J. P.
Wasn't in love with one of the servers upstairs. The other gal was awesome. Nachos were not very good. The Guinness was solid however!
J. N.
Nice pub expérience.
Fish'n'chips was excellent, with a nice quantity, staff was helpful (taking into account the huge crowd on peak hour)
l. h.
Had a very nice time here, very pleasant staff, Nice dishes, clean loo, loved the athmosphere, thanks a lot !
A. G.
Very nice and cozy pub. Extraordinary location and beautiful decoration.
Σ. Κ.
Great old style pub, nice selection of draft beer, superb fish and chips.
M. P.
Charged £20-something for fish & chips on Christmas day, didn't come with tartare sauce and wasn't mentioned upon order that they were out of it. Crushed peas not so crushed. Fish and beer was good though.
K. G.
You can't miss this pub, really chick, good service and good atmosphere
S. A.
Very friendly staff and good atmosphere
Scott and Libby were amazing. I would recommend checking this bar out and will be going back soon :)
D. P.
Nice pub, a stones throw from Paddington, good beer and pretty reasonable prices.
J. D.
Fantastic pub, great place, never tried the food but what I saw it looked amazing.
J. R.
Proper pub. Great ale and great place full of character. A place you can talk to strangers like you've known them all your life.
W. A.
The Albert is now one of my top 5 favourite Pubs in Great Britain
L. S.
Cute ambiance. Stagnant service. Food was mediocre. Having fresh vs frozen vegetables would be a good start. Looking for a bit more from Sunday pub fare.
C. Y. C.
A stunning building with Victorian Architecture.
A. T.
Big, real ale pub! Worked nearby years ago and never popped in! Teles around, lot of seating areas
J. S.
Good food, good beer, pleasant atmosphere. Standard pub service - expect to order at bar and set your own table
h. b.
Great, friendly pub and good food.
k. e.
Enjoyed a nice little lunchtime Bloody Mary in here as well as their fish and chips. Nice cosy pub, service is friendly and with a smile...orders were taken quickly and food was served quickly. When I called to move the table back 30 mins due to an overrunning meeting, it was no issue. Could become a regular! I
T. Z.
Cute pub with great decor and a charming outside. Waiting kind of slow, but the spirits selection is nice! Seems great for bigger groups as well. (wand not included)
A. R. G.
The gin tonic was fine but the onion rings were not home made and the bread and butter just a joke, a slice of white bread with some butter. I don't know usually pubs, even if it's just a side, toast the bread a bit or something. Throwing the food on the plate is bizarre and looks bad.
H. &. L. M.
After touring London, Scotland, and Ireland, eating fish and chips at most stops, The Albert pub still was at the top of our list for best fish and chips. Delicious, large, and tasty portion, fantastic atmosphere. It rocks!!!!
T. J.
When your cider comes with fresh fruit in the glass you know this pub is a cut above the rest. Try the upstairs for it’s small corner bar and window seat views over busy Victoria Street.
A. M.
Nice atmosphere, good fish and chips, and a good selection of beer!
H. T. H.
Authentic English pub! Where I discovered my favorite beer ... Sharp's Doom Bar amber ale.
J. K.
Awesome building to see! Great beer selection, including local brews, ok food and fair prices.
S.
A very friendly pub in the heart of Victoria. Not what you would expect for a central London pub. The food is what you expect with all the pub fayre favourites. The difference here is the helpful and welcoming staff. It is what I have grown to expect from Greene King. They clearly have a talent for hiring a great team whether you are in Central London or Southwest London.
A. C.
Only had a quick drink. Great service. Friendly staff. Would recommend.
A. A.
The Albert is a classic and the only pub across from Battersea Park. The staff are always lovely. They have a woodburning fireplace in Winter and are very popular. Too bad they do not have a decent lager. They too replaced all the good lagers with the Estrella Damm. I really wonder what kind of deal got made that virtually ever pub in London serves this overpriced mediocre beer. It saddens me greatly because I do not appreciate a monopoly being shoved down my throat. Ergo we only occasionally go because 9£ for a small glass of wine is absurd considering its mediocrity. My best friend only drinks beer so we are Dammed by the Estrella. Which leaves us having one and leaving. Still very dog friendly which is a requirement for me and my husband and best friend.
D.
Beautiful building, friendly staff, huge portions, but cry average food.
G. T.
Great traditional style pub with lively and friendly atmosphere.
S. F.
Very old and famous London's pub. Good veriety of ales and beers. Tasty pies and fish&chips. Not so expensive. About 10 minutes walk from Westminster abbey.
We very enjoyed the victorian style athmospher of the pub.
C. C.
Nice atmosphere, good selection of beers

Try the ice Breaker beer!

Brilliant place .Good service and the best beers and wine.

A decent pint in a pub with plenty of space. Watched the lions as sky and bt sport available. Wrong result but able to while away 30 minutes in relative comfort
M. P.
Friendly staff, good food.

Quaint little pub in the heart of Westminster, friendly staff and good choice of beer.

Food was great. Had the beef pie, mashed potatoes, and fresh steamed vegetables. Service was good, food hot, beer cold, what's not to like?
G.
Nice pub good selection of drinks and clean
L. S.
The food was decent, but the service was incredibly slow. Beautiful building, especially from the outside.
W. K.
It was a very nice Pub, staff were extremely friendly and helpful..but food and drinks was a little expensive..but on a good note the food was excellent...
S. W.
Popped in to get out of the rain! Tables nicely spread so you aren't sat on one another. Had a lovely glass of rose wine.
C. C.
Very friendly staff. Nice selection of cask ales brewed locally
D. P. L.
A very welcoming pub, excellent bar staff, just nipped in for a couple of pints and ordered through the app.

Food is delicious, nice place to enjoy your lunch

Great food, come on a Sunday for the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
N. M.
Simply loved the place, the food. The service.
N. K.
Perfect place to eat fish and chips with beer(s)!
A. M.
Staple pub. Cool building. It was our first stop and we needed food and beer and we got it! Same menu as other Greene King pubs. Few veg options.
S. J.
Always love the Albert, friendly atmosphere and lovely relaxing space.
B. S.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch here, nice food and a good selection of drinks! Everyone enjoyed it! 😊
A. S.
The fish and chips here is really good
J. N.
Old English pub from way back then. Crammed in between the new glass facade buildings, this is a piece of nostalgia. Just go! And experience yourself.
T. G.
Excellent lunch served promptly by a friendly and helpful member of staff. We were upstairs which is a bit quieter than the downstairs bar.
The toilet upstairs let the place down, the tap is damaged and difficult to use and overall the facility is shabby.
A. G.
Great beef and red wine pie! Fun atmosphere and tasty ciders.
D. C.
Beautiful pub....great selection of beers and lagers.
L. F.
Nice bar, friendly staff
P. M.
Great pub with excellent food!
M. R.
It was a very nice experience coming here. The staff were very nice to talk to and the food came quickly and hot. The environment is very nice and I felt welcomed. The staff are good with social distancing and protection equipment and cleaning. I would recommend this very nice pub.
C. T.
Just your normal London pub which is lovely to see. Good beer..
r. g.
Perfect pie with the most tender meat! I were actually headed to another bar for a pie, but came across Albert, I just couldn't resist. I have been walking in 9 hours straight, and needed food - quick! And I got my lovely pie within 15 minutes after ordering. So great, and prices are so reasonable - really great customer service as well, the waiter spotted me within 2 seconds after I was done with the menu cart. Normally you have to order in the bar, but they were so kind!
M.
I loved this place! It had great service and delicious food. You order at the bar and they'll bring it out to you. The mac and cheese was creamy and so cheesy, it's my favorite way to have mac! We also had the triple chicken burger and it was very tasty with three different cooked chicken. My boyfriend had the meat pie and he loved it. Awesome place. I definitely recommend it!
J. H.
Great service and extensive menu. We are dinner and stayed for drinks - great atmosphere!!
k.
Sports on multiple TV screens with food and drink that is inexpensive for the area.
J. S.
Great pub with large beer selection great food and nice and cozy.
A. T.
Hey, to be fair the drinks and the venue is a great atmosphere and would recommend for going for a drink. The things that pulled it down was, but where we sat you could smell the toilet, the main toilet itself was broken and pool of urine to navigate at the stalls. Toilet issues fixed definitely a four or five star place.
P. H.
Lovely Traditional pub with lots of old-looking glass nestled in a very modern Victoria Street. Remember it from when I worked around here ~40 years ago, every building around it has changed, The Albert lives on. They still serve pints of ale in jugs! Good breakfast well served to ~60 of us!
P. L.
Nice atmosphere even in the morning. I had a full English breakfast and it’s acceptable.
A. D.
Great old English pub in the heart of the City centre.
Good service too.
Highly recommended it!
M. M.
Great pub spread across two floors. Good selection of drinks but a fair few are often unavailable at any given time. Food is standard Greene King grub.
There is reserved seating upstairs for diners that is rarely full. The other half of upstairs plus downstairs has a good proportion of standing and seating space for patrons.
Toilets are cleaned regularly but can get into a state depending on how busy it is.
Some staff are friendly and helpful, some are curt and rude.
The pub itself is large and well presented. Feels like a proper London pub and attracts a good mix of locals and tourists.
B.
I've come to The Albert for years now due to the good old days of some good British fish & chips. I've taken family here when I visit London. I like the history of it but unfortunately now if something doesn't change soon, it will be history. The poor wait staff is always understaffed & seemily apologizing for long waits on food. People's meals all around were lukewarm. Too many people behind the bar. They need to prioritize things. Maybe instead of such a large menu, just be an appetizer & drinks place. Felt terrible for the kind wait staff. Honestly, I'd only go there now for a drink & I'd order it myself from the bar, then sit. Sad. The owner needs to hire someone to save his restaurant & get things in order.
C. L.
Nice looking pub with Ok food, but disappointing beer. Football screens available
c. c.
Great cider good lovely people great service recommend
J. H.
Fantastic building friendly staff but ticket operation by RBL was so poor and this is a under statement
A. B.
Try the ice Breaker beer!
A. P.
Just OK. Typical franchise pub. London prices though - harsh.
H. M.
Alright pub but not the place.for a quiet drink. Awful acoustics and not an inch of soft furnishing to stifle the shouting staff, clattering equipment and screeching groups. All the atmosphere of a workplace canteen c 1970.
M. P.
Friendly staff, good food.
C. F.
We visited the Albert for dinner. We ordered the Fish and Chips and the Chicken and Woodland Mushroom Pie. Both were very good. While the waiter was generally prompt, he didn't make us feel very welcomed (never smiled and didn't seem to have a veryl pleasant personality).
D. L.
Loved this pub. Busy down stairs but upstairs was a gem. The staff were polite and helpful and the wine lovely.
This is going to become a special place of mine when visiting this area of London. Would recommend this place to anyone who loves a good pub
T. E.
Service very good, food good, but no cask ales, so a bit disappointing in that respect. Apart from that it was ok.
r.
This is a very big beautiful Greene King pub. Usual poor range of ales but the food was very good. The TV had the news on full-time. Mostly pleasant staff except one who girl was downright miserable and unhelpful.
J. G.
Nice little pub freindly nice food
J. T.
Very enjoyable evening Landlady and staff very pleasant and obligingly well worth a visit.
A. R.
Nice boozer in Victoria St. Traditional affair, downstairs is roomy, and upstairs has more of a restaurant set-up. I think the place mostly caters for nearby workers, travelers and passers by. Had lunch here a few times in the upstairs area: standard British menu and always had tasty food and attentive service
P. A.
Heard about it during our open bus tour and wanted to see how it looked since its old but was’t what we expected, some old photos indoors but not much for tourists to visit over but nice staff, was clean & they even threw in some fruit with our glass of ice to fancy up our cider.
A. B.
We came as a school group which had me worried that we would just be served simple group treatment (as in mediocre food and treatment). It was rather the opposite, the food was nice, tasty and of good quality, the waiters took little time in aiding us with alternatives to those of us who where intolerant to certain ingredients or in refilling water and such.
All in all a very enjoyable experience.
L. H.
Superb Greene King pub. Had pie and mash and veg, yesterday. Good seat and table for football watching. Very keen and polite staff. Excellent.
D. H.
Great place to go and rest for a few drinks. Love the app for the drinks delivery. Downstairs felt small but upstairs made it feel far larger
J. L.
Old school, traditional pub in the heart of Victoria surrounded by busy London
S. W.
Food was good, staff were helpful in finding me a table for 6 when one of the party wasn’t very mobile and used a stick. We had a table in the back room and the only negative, and probably not one they could do much about, was the toilets from that room were down a rather steep curving staircase. Not easy using a walking stick.
T. K.
Highly traditional layout for a Victorian style London pub. Beautiful windows and in an amazing location. Can be very busy immediately after work. I found it tricky to get served at 17.30 on a rainy evening. Go figure!
T. T.
This is your archetypal Victorian city pub with its brickwork, glasswork, and wood finishing. It is a large pub with an upstairs room as well as a snug at the back. As with many older London pubs the toilets are located in the basement down a steep staircase so are not exactly disability friendly. The bar has a good range of real ales and a standard pub menu.
S. B.
Old pub with good beer.
G. F.
Nice pub and v central !
Good atmosphere and kind personal :)
we've ordered a starter and then two burgers (forgot the names :/) sooo delicious !
highly recommended
K. G.
Very decent pub, nice selection, would drink again
P. O.
We had a lovely lunch here after a walk in Richmond Park. Great steak, even better fish pie. Great service. Complimentary bottle of bubbly was a nice touch (it was Valentine’s Day). We’ll be back.
S. D.
Friendly staff, lovely old building and clean
L. S.
The inside of the pub is nice, but it took half an hour to get our breakfast and the pub was mostly empty. Another couple came after us, ate the same breakfast, and went before we asked if they had forgotten about us. We asked for my beans to be put on my boyfriend's place and his sausages on mine, and they said OK, but we didn't get it that way in the end. Payment is in advance so no possibility to not pay a tip or something. They didn't give an explanation why. Not so impressed.
M. V.
Super place to enjoy the British pub atmosphere!
n. j.
great old style pub lovely etched windows
Χ. Κ.
The best pub. Good food and drinks
R. I.
I have previously rated this place 4 stars. Tonight the staff were terrible. Customer service was very bad. The pub is still excellent; great food and beer. The manager tonight needs training or changing.

Wonderful fish & chips. Friendly service

Friendly pub
Good beer

TOURISTS.
This is a great pub to take people to on a tour of London. Away from the main drag around Big Ben etc - but they have good seasonal stuff (flags up for the six nations) and they do all the tourist favourites well - e.g. Fish N Chips, Pies etc etc etc.
They only drop a star because a five star pub is tough to come by!
C. K.
Steady away boozer, sport on without being busy and even a friendly southerner
K. R.
Ornate pub, in the middle of skyscrapers and office blocks, that looks better outside than inside. This is a typical pub with pub fare. Nothing special! Just a nice place to catch up with friends over a drink or two.
Don't expect amazing food, but for the price, it really is not that bad.
E. Q.
Best meat pies. Friends from the West Country now call it our local when they visit and the Guinness was gladly received too. Plenty of seating and if you love sport they can accommodate you too.
J. C.
The beer and atmosphere were great. Service was attentive and quick. I ordered the beef shepard's pie. It wasnt very good. Meat was chewy and rubbery. Really couldn't eat it. Come for the beer, but not the food.
N. H.
Had a lunch here with colleagues, it was slow to arrive and the food was overpriced for what locals might expect to pay. Tasted OK though.
If you are visiting London and are passing by this centrally located pub diner, then it is worth putting your head in the door as the decor is nice and the clientele are decent. Probably best value to take on some liquids rather than food
C. C.
Great pub with fantastic decor in this otherwise ugly and dull neighbourhood. Good beer too and lots of people for all televised events (Royal Weddings, FIFA world cup matches, etc...). Easily my favourite pub in the Victoria station area.
BUT: the toilets are not accessible to wheelchair (very steep stairs down the loos) and there is no baby change.
A. V.
The place is amazing and beautiful, but it lacks a bit of beer selection. We felt that it was a bit tourist oriented. Not a bad place yo be but not amazing.
M. R.
Nice pub friendly staff and served in order at bar.
j.
Not like what it used to be, trying to modernise Cardiff where people prefer history and come to Wales to see historic buildings and beautiful places to go and see. Can dine in or out there is also a bear garden here. Child friendly.
M. S. (.
Around 20 of us had Christmas lunch here. We were in the function room upstairs, so away from the main bar, but the staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was surprisingly good, given the challenge of serving large groups (there was also a group of about 70 French school kids sharing the room with us!). The dining room itself looks a little dated and in need of a refurb, but it certainly didn't spoil our experience. MLS
P. C. T.
This is the typical british pub that gets overcrowded after work hours. I haven't tried them but I've seen some good looking burger with fries, tasty aspect but I haven't tried them.
You can drink outside. We didn't get any table so we stand all the time.
G. H.
Needs a good clean, I went to the loo and there was smashed glass in front of the toilets wee all over the loo seats, poo stains all over the toilet bowls and just generally filthy. It's a shame because it's a really nice looking pub but it put me off staying past one drink.
a. 1. (.
Beautiful decor and building from the inside but choices aren’t great. 9 min walk to Buckingham palace from here.
K. M.
The service was Johnny on the spot, and the waiter was great at making suggestions. The recommendations were spot on, and we were stuffed at the end. Unfortunately, I was too full to try their dessert but had a London Pale Ale, And wife a wild berry cider, so it was practically like dessert. We had a great final dinner to tie off our quick British experience here in beautiful Westminister (London). Would recommend for others!

Best pub in the area. Really good drink options, helpful bar staff, very cool sitting areas, a nice mixed crowd of punters. Nice consistent restaurant out back too situated in a room with an interesting glass roof & open kitchen.
A. V.
Very old traditional London pub.
Recommend 👍
A. P.
Amazing place with great atmosphere and incredible pies. Customer service is outstanding! I forgot my receipt and they sent it to my email very quickly! Thanks! Will, certainly come back when back in London!
J. M.
A couple of beers after work on my first visit to The Albert. Super staff and well kept beers. The food was good but a bit pricey. But I would go there again
A. G.
Good menu with a variety of options. Nice beer sele room and prices are not too high considering where it's located. Nice pub overall!
G. d.
Great atmosphere, had a pint of Rockin'Rudolph (well it is Christmas after all... ) Oh, one other thing.
One of your staff is breathtakingly beautiful! I'm sure it isn't the done thing in our pc culture nowadays but she was achingly, utterly stunning. Just thought you should know....
S. C.
Good selection of beers, lively atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed the sharing platters. We'd only gone in for a quick drink whilst deciding where to go and eat and stayed for a couple of hours
N. P.
Visited on a Sunday and the 3 of us had the roast - my wife had the beef, my mum had the pork snd I had the lamb. All 3 meals were lukewarm, the stuffing balls were freezing cold, the pork wasn't cooked properly as the fat was white in colour, no crackling as advertised, the carrots were raw and lukewarm and no apple sauce for the pork. Mint sauce arrived when I had finished the meat! The black lady who served us was exceptional and she got a nice tip. We love the pub - now I know why the carvery is no more - they can' t do food!!!
L. A.
Good spot for an after work pint. Friendly staff and a reasonable selection of beers. Standard pub food. Upstairs area is quieter and has big tables.
M. Q.
Decent pub with great atmosphere. Lovely staff too.
D.
Nice place to hangout with friends. A walking distance to london eye
W. B.
Lovely Pub. And Jay (member of staff, maybe Manager?) was excellent, made us feel right at home and consistently made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks Jay. Dog Friendly!
J. P.
We were looking for some local history and found The Albert in the old Artillery Brewery Building. Our 12 year old was welcomed to stay until 9:00 pm and he had the fudge cake with clotted cream for dessert. I was surprised the exact same Menu Layout for The Albert was also used by The Victoria & The Shakespeare, a short walk away. The GreeneKing company limited our menu choice, for the restaurants around our hotel.
p. h.
The Prince pie was proper regal
M. L.
Typical London pub. Sadly lacks of outdoor space, but the restaurant upstairs is quite cosy. They also have live performances every now and then. Popular spot for tourists. They have their food menu in various languages.
H. J.
good pub, very busy but served quickly. drinks reasonable prices.
S. S.
Not quite a wetherspoons, service not very friendly, i assume the member of staff wasnt a morning person. Food was ok, only gripe is the accidental placing of bacon on my vegetarian breakfast. Not many other options close by unless ya wanna opt for a coffee shop.
S. W.
Traditional English pub with loads to offer. Fabulous breakfast high quality food. A great atmosphere and plenty of charm. Staff were brilliant, will defiantly visit again.
M. G. S.
Great historic building. Good beer and food.
C. M.
The beer is ice cold and the servers friendly and helpful. They do usually have sports on TV, which is nice. However, the fish and chips were sub par, with mushy batter and rubbery fish inside.
R. M.
This was such a charming, and friendly pub. The staff were really attentive, without being intrusive (which I hate) so was very happy. The buger was amazing and Timea especially was so friendly.
R. M.
Dropped in for a quick drink, service was good and staff friendly. People seemed to be enjoying their food.
D. L.
Very popular with tourists, a lot of group tours end here. It's a Greene king but they offer a wider selection of ales than most and a couple from Greenwich meantime. Fairly standard, landlord seemed a bit moody to us.
A. G.
This is one of my go-to pubs when I visit London. This gem is located in a beautiful old building in the middle of busy Victoria Street. For the location, it's an excellent value - the brews are good, the bartenders are friendly. Table service can be a little spotty but hey, it's a pub.
L. W.
The Albert is a fine pub in Victoria. It's frequented by local business folk after office hours. It has a neat little back room with dining tables, and it must have a large area upstairs for dining because i once saw an entire coachload of school kids swarm up the stairs. It's a busy, popular pub.
J. S. P.
Albert is an amazing guest. I wish they all were like him. He was easy to communicate with throughout the process, he appreciated my personal home and my touches. He left my home immaculately clean. I recommend him to all hosts.
d. h.
Lovely little pub. Had to have a steak as it was my birthday and it was superb.
J. G.
Although the second dishes were good and adecuated for a typical british dinner (sausages with mash or veggie hamburger), the firsts was very simple. One of the waiters was not so nice, but the waitress was more friendly. Local nice decorated with paintings from queen Victoria and prince Albert in the 2nd floor.
Tap water without ice cubes and they did'nt replace systematically the flagons. Maybe they must bring it from the River Thames? XD
PD: not easy for large groups (30), although you have booked.
To honour queen Victoria and prince Albert the service should be improved.
J. M.
Great pub and the food is good too.
A. P.
Absolutely top! Such a cool little pub, I must stop.
C. Z.
Very nice place!
R. R.
Excellent Victorian style pub. Looks great on the outside and the selection of food is enough for almost anyone. A good place to meet friends for drinks. What more could you want in a pub.
Y. S.
Of all the many pubs in London, Albert has the best Fish and Chips! The chicken and mushrooms pie was amazing. My husband and son enjoyed the beer too! Cheers!
E. M.
Wonderful place. Visited on Christmas day 2019. Very busy being that they were one of the very few eateries open. Excellent service and wonderful food. I highly recommend.
T. M. K.
Traditional English pub with good food and beer selection. Great English breakfast! Large screens for sport events. They have places upstairs too.
N. W.
Lovely spot and delicious food. Just very loud and crowded for a Thursday afternoon.
S. N.
Really good Green King pub with Sky Sports and good range of beer. About 10 mins walk from Victoria. The building is beautiful and the old windows and bar are impressive.
P. C.
Beautiful Victorian pub. It's a Green King pub, but they haven't yet managed to ruin it. Good selection of beers and very popular with tourists.
N. S.
Wait more than 40 minutes for my fish'n'chips. the food I didn't like very much, the toilet is small, the sink is small and uncomfortable, but the overall atmosphere is pleasant and the interior is wonderful
H. D.
Good pub fare along with a variety of beers on tap. Downstairs is the bar with walk up service, while upstairs is full service. Plenty of TVs to catch up with football and rugby between rounds.
B. B.
Great beer and food, but the plase smells like bums
P. W.
Glad to see this place was open past 2300 on a Friday night. Not many are in Westminster area. Good place for a stop off pint on the way back to the hotel. Nice selection of spirits and beers.
S. S.
Cool pub with good drink selection and atmosphere. There are lots of good whiskey at the bar that's not on the menu, so don't forget to check it out directly.
D. W.
Very nice pub, beautiful decor just a pity the food took so long to come which was surprising as we only order 2 sandwiches with drinks. Other people that came in after us got served quicker. I also don't mind paying for nice food but for what we got at the price was pretty expensive , won't be returning there again.
F. M.
Great place to eat or for few drinks.
N. R.
Classic pub on Victoria Street, with etched windows, period features and a dining room upstairs. Reasonable range of beers and serves food.
M. H.
Lovely pub, with good drinks and menu, always pop in for drink while walking to Victoria. Has TV's for live sport and service is very quick.
M. M.
Lovely lively Victorian boozer. We popped in for a sharpener before going to friends for dinner. Service fast and friendly in spite of the after work Friday crowd.
H. R.
Good number of screens for watching live sport. I visited to watch an early PL game and was relatively quiet. Pricey, but arguably to be expected for the area.
y.
Good London pub, often very busy, but has upstairs area as well, so should get in no problem.
D. “.
Nice atmosphere, good food, nice staff
T. H.
Always visit the Albert when I come to London and the staff are always friendly and helpful
M. B.
Great bar in a great location
g. f.
Nice beer and pub confortable. Is possible also to use the reservation table's until 6:30 pm, if don't want to dinner.
P. H.
Booked for a drink. No problems getting sat down. The staff were really friendly.
D. G.
A really good atmosphere and good staff..
L. B.
Had the upstairs to ourselves during one of the World Cup games. Great time!
A. O. A.
Really good beer selection and awesome atmosphere
D. G.
Nice pub conveniently located close to Victoria and st James park, great option for watching sports or Wimbledon during the summer as there is plenty of space upstairs and usually isn't too crowded.
A. S.
Very nice beer selection and good atmosphere.
D. R.
This is a quality place for groups! It is a well kept establishment in an easy to find location. The bartenders are great even when they are very busy.
ג. ו.
The food isn’t tasty, we orders the pai, the bread isn’t good and the beef isn’t tasty either.
You need to find table by yourself and make an order by yourself in the cash desk.
The beer is good...
F. K. (. M.
Good food - fabulous portions. Great atmosphere. Lovely staff. Parking is a real hassle.
R. R.
Cooler Pub
N. O.
The food is good and the price is honest for the area. The waiters though were more interested in hooking up with the girls than actually serving customers, and didn't even warn when the kitchen was about to close. Shame as the atmosphere is very good
A. T.
Good for a drink, but not for a meal. There is tastier food in the area if you're willing to walk a bit. If you want to watch sports on TV, this is a good choice. But eat first.
R. C.
Nice ambience and atmosphere, great staff
T.
Wonderful Staff and a good service. Diner was spot on time and tasted delicious. Highly recommendable for groups of teenagers (16-18+)
P. D.
Watched the Wimbledon finale there: good TV, nice atmosphere and good food.
Everything you can expect from a very good pub!
M. D. I.
We have a team Xmas lunch. The turkey was lovely and juicy. The staff tried the best to create a good ambience but the music was more like a sleeping lullaby.
A. C.
Big Victorian 2-floor corner pub approx 700m from Victoria station. Pub food selection, ales & wines. Quick, efficient, polite staff. Popular with office workers and tourists.
C. H. F.
Good food and fast service
J. P.
Friendly atmosphere most welcoming
b. l.
Wonderful experience! Great service! Great food! Had some pub grub on the first evening, and sat downstairs. Second evening, sat upstairs and had the carvery. Loved it!
C. Y.
Lovely pub.very good and friendly service
N. K.
Food and service were good. Nice atmosphere. Beer was warm which is probably good on a typical English day, but it was 85F outside.
C. K.
Nice pub. A little noisey, but that's to be expected on a Friday night, especially before Jalloween.Food was very good, very hot, and very reasonable in price. Staff were very friendly.
N. B.
Nice pub for after work drinks. Would be 5 stars but the ladies toilets are quite hard to find (please improve your signage!)
a. p.
Nice pub in great City location
G. D.
This place used to have a carvery which was great British fare, good honest food value for money, however yesterday I was visiting some of my and my families old haunts, I was greeted well at the downstairs bar by a young professional individual who was knowledgeable regarding the various drinks available and helped me to make the right choice of aperterif, Rhubarb and ginger gin with a fresh tonic,,,, well done and not only for the professionalism but for doing it all in a happy and courteous manner,,,,
However when I took a guest upstairs to show the history of our prime ministers pictorially displayed as you climb the grand staircase to the upstairs seated area, I wanted to explain that before my Father died this was a place where we ate carvery roasts and indeed even our Christmas dinners were spent here,,
I was disappointed as one young Asian or Indian female member of staff was rather abrupt when I tried to explain the facts of my history with this establishment she stated none of this could have happened as all that carvery stuff was finished over ten years ago, I really think she was at the least rather demeaning and was not impressed by her lack of personal interaction skills left a lot to be desired, staff can Either make or break an experience of the usage or patronage of any place of business,
So kudos and accreditation to the young man who greeted and started the revisit a pleasent one but the girl upstairs needs to know her interpersonal skills need to addressed as even barking orders to another newer member of staff to go downstairs and replenish could have been done in a more professional Manner...... No doubt I will pass by again to see if anying changes for the positive,
S. H.
Good selection of beers, big pub restaurant area upstairs
P. H.
Great food and drink. Big screens to watch football and social distance guidelines very good.
E. G.
It is a traditional pub from Victorian era circa 1845. The atmosphere is good, but service sometimes is a bit slow.
T. H.
Nice atmosphere in pub, but food very pricey. Drink prices high, £5 for a cider, but fairly normal for this central in london.
M. G.
Nice Pub where enjoy any of several delicious draught beer brands and eat quite good fish&chips meals. Totally recommended.
m. p.
The best pub in London, good prices, great staff and near the centre for sight seeing. we go up for remembrance,New year and our anniversary and this is our first stop.
G. S.
Very good steak & ale pie. Nice place.
J.
Great little pub just outside of Victoria. Didnt see many tourists, which is quite nice for those of us looking to get away from that type of thing. Very affordable.
M. D.
Nice pub and friendly staff.
J. F.
Great service. Food was delicious and homemade. The hostess was very friendly and had great stories of the royals.
c. r.
Nice place, the best is the various memories they stored and displayed, including the napkin used by Queen Victoria.
M.
Authentic English. Good food and Beer
T. W.
I love the Albert. I have had many adventures in here. The staff are magnificent. The ales exceptional. Grade A pub.
K. L.
Great atmosphere. Good gin
B. K.
It was a great time at the pub.
J. B.
I was overseas with a travel group and we where trying food. The service was good.
P. R.
Typical London pub lovely atmosphere pleasant staff. Nothing wrong with the place at all. Visited during afternoon so fairly quiet
P. T.
Gr8 place ,not cheap Camden town brewery £5.99, but worth to go if u around...
C. C.
Came in for a beer as this was on my list of places to visit near my hotel. The Camden Pale Ale was solid, reminiscent of a Shock Top. Decor and service was average at best.
A. P. (. G. P.
It was a good experience and typical of a British pub. We started when it wasn't crowded so found a table to sit at. The only odd bit was when a server came over, asked how we were doing and when we said we need 1 more order of chips, she said you have to go to the bar to order.....then why ask how we were doing in the first place :-)
W. G.
Great atmosphere. Highly recommend going upstairs where it’s more relaxed and you can chat easier. The fish and chips was good too!
E. M.
Been eating here for years and never been disappointed. Standard pub food, but always good. Christmas meal is always good too.
E. F.
Exactly what I expected a London Pub to be like. Some historic charm, comfortable and great selection of drafts!
A. M.
Fantastic pub. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and the buffet that was laid on for us was really nice.
B. S.
Authentic place, good beers and foods
S. D.
Thank you to Lucas, the team leader, for giving my Grandad a tour and history lesson on your beautiful pub. He was very happy!
J. S.
The history of The Albert is amazing and the food is delicious. Couldn’t find a friendly staff member in the place but the beer made up for it.
A.
Nice pub atmosphere, good food and beers. The food is exactly the same that you find in many other pubs in London, it all comea from the same company and all pubs have the same menu.
P. B.
Quick service, the food was good and everyone was friendly
N. C.
It's a decent old school boozer with well kept beer on Victoria Street. There aren't many of them around, so should be supported.
M. M.
Nice staff!!!! And fresh beers
P. D.
Very traditional ambience, so was the pies, good people, just a little late on serving, most likely due to holidays.
B. P. (.
Noting special, but does its thing well. Good range of beers, large lively upstairs. Service could be better
S. G.
Updated since last visit, no longer a carvery. However service and menu choices quick and surprisingly good price for the area.
h. e.
Good food drinks way over priced
C. R.
Really nice looking house and interior but the actual pub is similar to any other cheaper sportsbar. Not bad but not really matching the expectations!
s. k. (.
Nice beer and food.
P. R.
Picture perfect public house .on a busy commercial road so can afford to be open in spite of the public house culture of britian being almost obliterated under the pressures of alchohol tax.cheaper take home packs and pub property being exproriated by the carpet bagging developers .
M. K.
Old Pub with the respective atmosphere. Good cocktails and apparently good food. London price's... cocktails 10£.
J. E.
verry good food, and the personal was very friendly, id recommend especially the upstairs area where its a lot more quiet. :)
J. M.

M.
Great European pub food the fritz for a little wiggly so should we ask for some well done
H. G.
Do not be surprised on arrival. This is no gastropub, or modern gin trendy pub. Its an old fashioned English pub. Expect exactly that, plus superb ales and beers, even a barley wine. There's a wide range of ciders too, and all these change regularly. They can be bought by the third too, or quarter so that you can try them all. Actually, you can't do that either as there's too many. Superb, go here if you love beer.
K. D.
Good old fashioned pub in the middle of glass tower blocks.. One of my favourite places to go if lm in Victoria.
M. L. G.

B. A.
It's located in Victoria Street and is one of the most beautiful buildings I have seen with a long great history behind it. Great food and friendly staff
L. B.
Of two minds about this place: I've had a few really good nights here but the food is so bad. Maybe that's why I get so drunk there
M. S.
Great food!
N. M.
Typical pub, although can get very busy but service isn't too long even when busy
J. H.
It's an attractive building - I particularly like the way it nestles amongst the skyscrapers, reminiscent of the opening scenes from Monty Python's Meaning of Life. Unfortunately on the inside it is a bit bland and soulless, and seems to be mostly frequented by tourists.
C.
Guinness with Fish and Chips should be the first choice. Amazing all around with great staff and environment.
D. C.
The food was decent but the staff not so pleasent. Rude especially with tourists.
M. Z.
Very popular and great food and drink. Service is on the first floor. Watch the world go by ... enjoyable.
J. M.
