My first review is below, I have revisited since.... Food and beer is still excellent. Service needs work! Staff not knowing what drinks they’re selling, not bringing cutlery to your table with meals, bringing the wrong food (a gluten loaded bun for a gluten free customer) taking beers from table before they’re finished and when challenged having a bit of an attitude. Normally I would expect some goodwill gesture to put things right but nothing forthcoming. If you like good service with your food and drink you may not always get it here. As I value service very highly I have had to dock 2 stars since last time. FIRST REVIEW This place has produced what I can only describe as the best burger I have ever eaten (and I have eaten many from many different places). The Black and Blue burger is hands down an incredible burger that every one should have the chance to eat at some point in their life. In addition the beers and service are fantastic. This pub needs at least 10 or more visits in your lifetime! I will be back.

Very Covid conscientious, gorgeous eclectic interior design with midcentury undertones, a beautiful railway arch, piano and red velvet curtains to complete a cosy but large entertainment section, great kids art wall, great menu and coffee😃👍

This was our first visit to The Alexandra even though we’ve lived in the area for over 25 years, and we weren’t disappointed. As-soon-as we walked in, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and there was a Track & Trace QR code and temperature monitor. The food was tasty - especially the garlic pizza and Korean wings. I also highly recommend the Malbec. We will definitely be back. Thank you Alexandra.

One of our favourite local, with a very good atmosphere, a community feel to it and lovely decor. Members of staff are very friendly , and there is a good selection of drinks. It is kids and dogs friendly. Shame the Sunday roast has been replaced by pizza and burger, as it was one of the best roasts I have had. Good anti covid measures in place, with temperature taken at entrance, compulsory sign in, members of staff wearing a mask, hand sanitizer available, exclusive table service. The tables are not very far from each other, but plastic shields separate some of them making it safe. But this makes the environment quiet loud, especially double up with the poor acoustic of the place. Would definitely good back .

One of Foggy London towns finest drinking establishments. They provided a beautiful space for a celebration of life. The staff were brilliant, sensitive & compassionate to the occasion. I was impressed with the interior, slick lighting and design of arch space. Gorgeous wall garden and a great drinks selection, I had a super duper vegan pizza and a few halves of their IPA. Highly recommend 🙏😊 They also have a bring your vinyl night! I will be returning to The Alexandra in Penge because I love it when you find a gem of pub like this one.

This is our local and we love spending an evening here. To eat or drink or both! The Korean Chicken Burger is the best! Would recommend the banana and Nutella pizza to finish if you still have room it’s huge but delicious!

Really cool vibe in here. On entry there is a two seater couch, a table for two and a standing table. then a raised bar area with seating and tables. Intimate place good for first dates and the rest. Great selection of beers on tap from local breweries and everything else. I had a Lamb burger from here and they have a chalk A board outside stating that they make the best burgers, Trust me! they are the best, maaaaaan I couldnt get enough of this, everything in it was just spot on, the bread itself, the garnish, the sauce and the lamb itself was mouth watering, it came with fries which are triple cooked and already salted. I was super satisified. On a Wednesday night there is a DJ set playing, im not sure if it is every Wednesday but thats just a heads up, it can be a tad loud if youre meeting someone for the first time of not got a loud enough voice like me. this isnt a criticism, because I was enjoying the music playlist, its just an FYI. There is an even larger seating area towards the back of the pub as well. Really love this pub and will be a regular.

Nice corner local which, in a refurb a couple of years back, gained a very cool dining/live music area in the neighbouring railway arch, connected by a glass atrium. Food is very good, an alright range of beers (but could do with more than one cask option). Great place to chill out and read something from therir little library, or play a game.

The food here is really good, however it seems like the place is a victim of its own success when it comes to service. On my last visit they were so busy and packed out that the bar staff seemed not to be able to cope. The person who served me was pre-occupied, frustrated with me placing my order and couldn't wait to ring it up in the till and give me the total, even though I hadn't finished ordering. They were confused with what I was ordering, even though this consisted of a glass of wine, two soft drinks and a pint. When one of the barrels had run out they had a mini tantrum in front of me and were generally unfriendly and stressy, which was not a particularly welcoming or nice experience. I like this place a lot but they need to work on their process when it comes to running it during peak hours so that their staff do not get to these levels of stress and take it out on customers spending money there.

Pleasant atmosphere with good quality live music the night we were in and place was pretty packed. Looks as though opened sometime mid 2017 in Penge area which is gradually on the up. Nice menu with some tapas style dishes and a decent number of veggie and vegan dishes if that's your bag. The chorizo sharing dish we had was excellent value for money, the lamb too. Was a little disappointed by the beetroot carpaccio.
