Great Sunday afternoon in the Alleyns Head. My family and I picked from the Sunday fixed price lunch menu which was very good value for money. You could either have 1 course for £10.49, 2 courses for £12.49 or 3 course for £14.49. We all went with the 3 course. Everyone was happy with their food which all varied from the Soup of the day, Parsley Breaded Mushrooms and King Prawn Cocktail. Mains were Roasted Pork Loin, Trio of Roasts and Lentil & Spinach Pie. All finished off with desserts; Treacle pudding with Custard and Salted Caramel Billionaires Gold Bar with Strawberry sauce. The service was excellent. We will definitely visit again.

Here with a friend who is professional musician in his own right. Both not sure what to expect from the beer garden Platinum Jubilee band. What a treat!! Band was amazing. Lead singer and keyboards player should be really congratulated. Rest of band, drums, bass and amazing guitarist - all just as good! Regulars at the Alleyns Head! Great work, Rob and his team! More to come - we hope!

Lovely pub, been in a few times. The food is fantastic and not overpriced. They have a dedicated Vegetarian and Vegan menu, again with fantastic food. Ayla was our waitress for the meal and she was fantastic! Never met a better waiter. Funny, witty, very attentive, she couldn't have done better! Left her a £20 tip and she earned it.

We went in a group of 3. One person with reduced mobility and another with limitations in listening. However, the pub was easily accessible and the music in there wasn't disturbing at all. Lovely, polite, professional, friendly...staff and the food: OMG!!! The food was delicious for a incredibly reasonable price. Also, we were allowed to play scrabble and definitely, obviously...we will come back again and again.

Had a great meal with the best service from Isla at the Alleyn head west Dulwich! Food and atmosphere were good steaks and sides cooked to order despite it being very busy! Isla was exceptional, warm, welcoming and attentive she gave tailored service to our family and kept everyone around us smiling and happy though it was packed! Thank you Isla we will be back! Held Mum's wake here 19th Oct, A sad affair was helped by friendly helpful staff and lovely food. Everyone mentioned what a lovely atmosphere there was in there. Beautiful pub. Visited here today for food and drinks, I am a vegetarian and requested a no meat roast dinner, it was no trouble to change this and cater for me. I went with a friend last night. We was greeted by Lewis who showed us to a table and made us feel very welcome, he gave us great service through out our stay. I visited Sunday early evening. It was great to be welcomed by the same team of friendly staff. I have a list of food intolerances but Ayla my waitress was amazing. Checking with the chef was no problem. The sea bass was delicious and sooo tasty. My mum had the roast beef dinner and said.. its real beef and real vegetables. Again 10 out of 10. Thank you for tasty food and perfect service Ayla were coming back soon ! 👍😁

My mother's funeral wake was held at The Alleyn's Head on 7 July 2021, Dorothy Parke. I have to say the staff were so nice, professional & helpful. The service here is absolutely incredible! The server was so nice and nothing was too much! She was so friendly and actually made the dining experience so much better. The food however, was disappointing. I ordered a sunday roast and got reheated potatoes and parsnips which tasted stale as did the stuffing.The meat was lovely though and so was the dessert. I personally wouldn't eat here again, but my sister has on a few occasions and actually said the food has never been bad apart from the time we went!!! Other than that, beautiful pub with amazing service.

We arranged a lovely garden party here for my Nans 95th birthday today (10.07.21). The staff, Lewis and Ellis, were absolutely brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble and they worked really hard to make it a very special day, despite the current restrictions. We come to the Alleyns often for lunch with Nan and can’t recommend it enough. Thank you all very much.

I booked a private area on a busy Sunday Lunch time in the run up to Christmas paying £16 a head for a two course meal for 18 teenage (16-18yrs) girls from the local rugby club... What could go wrong??? Well. nothing actually. The main restaurant was hugely busy, as was the bar area, but the pre-ordered food, all came out correctly, as ordered and at the same time. Sensible gaps between the courses and staff came to ensure everything was delivered before disappearing. OK so they didn't have time to stand and chat, but to be fair, I'm surprised they had time to breathe and the food was outstanding for the money. Ember inns are not the gastro pub, fine dining establishments springing up all over the country, but the do offer hearty, well cooked and consistent food at very reasonable prices. 18 teenagers fed, and 18 totally empty plates. Don't need to say more really. Thank you top the staff, we will be back if you'll have us

Mains of Beetroot burger & Vegetarian Shepard's Pie (Shouldn't that be gardeners pie???) were also extremely tasty. My family and I have been coming here for several years and have generally enjoyed the food, but feel the quality has not been maintained. The Sunday chicken roast is however pretty decent and good value. Staff are helpful and chatty as is the landlord.

Little local boozer. Very clean inside and the food is pretty good too, the staff are all very friendly. Very well priced and do a Great Ale Monday special. It's good for an older crowd and I go there because it's my local but I wouldn't go out of my way, purely because I feel it lacks a little atmosphere. The kind of place that puts the news on its TV screens. Huge out door area makes it a good spot to catch some sun in summer. I would give it 3 stars except it's actually quite nice even though it's not really my vibe. I think it deserves a refurbishment to bring it into the millennials sights.

Friendly family pub. Very clean facilities. Nice bootsale held in the pub car park every 3rd Saturday of the month from September 2017. Sellers are polite and you can grab yourself some vintage bargains as well as new stuff for great prices.

Go here a few times a year, quality of food has gone down and always something missing from the dish.... normally stuffing (which are clearly frozen not fresh) have heard other diners say the same thing. Garlic bread was burnt but still served. It's a shame as the staff are nice and always professional.

The menu looks decent but the reality is quite different. I had the pad thai which I've had numerous tones elsewhere. This was delivered without the pad. When questioned the staff said the delivery said pad thai. This meant the chef had no idea what pad thai was nor how yu k cook it. The chicken platter is very good.

Have used Alleyns ahead for years today I was disappointed went for lunch only to be told can't take bar orders for food have to use restaurant could not understand what difference it would be taking an order over bar or in restaurant. To cut a long story short it all boils down to the attitude of bar staff if he had said sorry madam there will be a 45 min wait for food I would have understood

I was hungry driving back to London from Kent. Called at 20.55 to ask if they were still doing food. The man who answered told me the kitchen closed in 5 minutes but that if I asked for him by name he'd take care of me. He definitely did and I had a lovely meal with wine and I'm very thankful!
