Went for Mother's Day and we had the veggie roast - it was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Surpassed our expectations with lovely customer service too. We were given a complimentary drink too. Thank you!

Always had a soft spot for the Angelic. Comedy tapes piped into the gents (reached via an iron circular staircase), its quirky and has some fine beer on tap. Food has always been good and private area on first floor is a great way to celebrate any event.

Lovely pub- spacious, quick service and extremely cosy! We went for a private event upstairs and we’re drawn to stay when we came down to such a great atmosphere. So spacious, lots of comfortable seats and tables to enjoy. Good music, drinks and location! Will be back!

The staff and atmosphere are superb at the The Angelic. There is one special person that stands out and that is Ireena she goes above and beyond for her customers and makes you want to come back each time. Even my little grandson walks past asking for olives and chips at the angelic.

We came here for Sunday roast and we were very disappointed as the meat roast served is quite thin and tough. Gravy and vegetables were also sub par quality. Nice ambience and would be nice for drinking only.

This is, in my opinion, a fantastic venue. A little bit silly and loads of fun. The staff are terrific (autocorrect offered terrible). A big venue with all sorts here, very family friendly with children of all ages, some old enough to know better! Everyone seems to be having a great time. Love the replica statues, including Pan in the Gents! That's the way ancient Greek should be taught!

This is one of those places where I could hang out an entire Sunday. Lovely atmosphere, lots of light as well. Food looks great, though I only had a soup myself (which I quite enjoyed) and staff is happy to let you try a beer to find one you like. The restrooms are a nice surprise!

Drink as much as you can so you have to go to the toilet there you will be treated to episodes of black adder and various other classic comedies it has a waterfall at the bottom of the stairs which was amazing. All in alla brilliant pub well worth a visit if you are in the area

The decor is beautiful inside and out (strikingly so for a normal pub), the staff are friendly and make for top service. What let's them down is their food. We went in for a Sunday roast and while it looked great, the taste was lacking. Though my girlfriend quite liked hers, I'm sad to say there's a little room for improvement from the kitchen. I hope it was a one off as Otherwise I'd highly recommend this great pub, rich in character and atmosphere.

We held a small birthday celebration here. We reserved a couple tables and it was a lovely evening. The team were really accommodating; they helped us out with a knife and plates for the cake, and even an old ice-cream tub to take the leftover slices home in! Decent pub with a good atmosphere. Only real negative is that the staff always seem very slow to serve which can be irritating. Twice, I’ve seen customers leave as they were frustrated watching staff have a chat with each other, rather than serving. That said, food and drink are good. Toilet comedy being piped through the speakers is brilliant!

Decent pub with a moderate selection of beers. Atmosphere is ok and moderately comfortable. I only give it three stars because of my personal preferences so here goes. I don't think the atmosphere is as nice as equivalent pubs in the area and that goes for the staff and drink selection too. Fine for a couple but not a place I could sit in all day.

Lovely cosy pub, attended a family wedding in the upstairs function room. Small function room but perfect for the intimate wedding we attended, loads of steps and no lift but toilets available in the function room. I don't know if it's value for money because we live in Manchester, it seemed a little expensive but I think for London prices it would be classed as very reasonable. Overall a lively place.

Usually a nice pub with plenty of atmosphere. Disappointing this time as while there was supposed to be Sunday roast, something was wrong and we could not put an order in. It was snowing that day, so we thought maybe a chef was delayed or something, but the guy behind the bar would not give any details any time we asked

Typical london pub/bar. Good selection of beers and ciders on tap and good range of wines. The sharing boards are worth a try - especially the meat selection platter. Outside seating is a bonus but they get taken quickly.

Nicely kept traditional style pre-war(s) pub. Close to the Angel. Ground floor is one large room. Efficient staff, most of them friendly! It does hot snacks and light food. I understand that it has meeting etc rooms for hire. The pub has quiz nights and other social evenings for the diary. Most importantly, it also sells a lovely pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord!

As we stayed at the place near the Angelic, we went there a few times during a week, late July 2015. Sometimes just for our first proper coffee of the day ( they do an excellent cappucino!), but also for dinner and their English breakfast. Great vibes, friendly staff, food was excellent! Bit more pricey compared to other local pubs, but not too bad... Unless you are conscious of every penny you spend... Ground floor level is indeed totally angelic - head downstairs to the loos, for the tonal opposite! :-) Dark, black / reds, demons lurking in corners, and - the highlight! - episodes of Blackadder over the speakers! Brilliant!!!! :-) How often does it happen that one leaves the toilet laughing out loud?... ;-)

Nice enough pub in a good location but a slightly strange atmosphere. Staff all wear uniforms that are uncharacteristic for a pub and far more suited to some kind of upmarket soho tourist trap cocktail bar. Perhaps it's the uniforms that also make staff somewhat aloof and unhelpful? Food is average but expensive, drinks menu relatively unexciting and also expensive. Gets busy on Thursdays to Saturdays as you'd expect for the area. The most exciting thing here is the toilets in the cellar accessed by a wrought iron spiral staircase. They used to play Blackadder audio in the loos but didn't when I last visited. A staff only door labelled "GIMPS" in gold lettering epitomises the totally confused vibe. It's hard to find a reason to go to the Angelic above other, better nearby pubs down Liverpool road, around chapel market, or down by the canal.

This is my local and i can't say anything bad about it to be fair. Well maybe one thing, my sunday roast last week was a little cold... LOL. But otherwise its a great place to hang out. Be it a quick drink after work. Or a pre drink before you hit the town, this place has it all. I would recommend this to everyone. They are also great with kids so if you and your family want a great place that caters for kids in a comfortable environment, then get to the Angelic.

Listen if the owners can read this: I'm a 5'11 male. At the top of the stairs leading to the downstairs toilets the ceiling juts in on a low angle with a sharp edges, all painted black and blending in. I hit my head and it bled. I don't sue, but you can get sued for a pretty penny. Put some rubber there...
