Reviews of The Antelope, Belgravia
D. T.
A most agreeable establishment offering a good selection of Fuller's ales along with a selection of kegs to keep us all happy. The pub has a cricket team, with past rivalries involving the Churchill arms (Kensington Church Street) celebrated on the walls. A delightful place for a beer.

🚇 Sloane Square
🍺 £6.45 Asahi
❤️ An excellent Fullers pub nestled in a backstreet just off Sloane Square.
.
This was the first pub of a highly anticipated pub crawl through the southern end of Belgravia. The pub is just a short walk from the famous London landmark and hub of the well to do, Sloane Square. I arrived just after the pub opened and was greeted by a very nice member of staff and I ordered a pint of Asahi which is my pint of choice in a @fullers pub, even though it is usually at a premium price. There is a good range of beers here including Olivers Island and the ever popular London pride. This pub is full of charm and character with dark wood panelling, a beautiful fireplace to warm you in the colder months and a central island bar which is one of my favourite features in any London pub. The atmosphere was one of calm as it was early doors on this Saturday lunchtime, the pub gradually filled up with the lunchtime crowd arriving to sample the classic British menu and enjoy spending time in this charming London boozer.
.
The @antelopesw1 is a classy, classic traditional London pub located in a beautiful backstreet in a part of London I could only dream of living in. The great thing I love about London pubs is they are in the main historical places with no entrance fee, and all they want in return is your patronage. This pub is an absolute belter and should be added to your things to do in London.

Lovely welcome from the barmaid, and a gorgeous pint of Hophead by Dark Star. Would normally go for London Pride (one of my favourite beers) but don't remember having Hophead before so had to try it! And was not disappointed mmmm! Then a pint of Pride of course. Had some triple cooked chips and sweet potato Fries...gorgeous!
C. F.
Relaxing atmosphere and good food! The Pies are great, and the fried Haddock was perfect!

I really, really wanted to give The Antelope 5 stars - it's a proper pub just 5 mins' walk from Sloane Square - beautiful decor, friendly service and excellent drinks offering. But on a recent group lunch visit I was really surprised by my friend's lunch. Most of us had ordered roasts which were average Chelsea prices (lower end of the scale) and great value for money with excellent portion sizes, very tasty. However one friend ordered ham, egg and chips for a relatively high price (I think around £13) and it was really disappointing. He had very few chips, an underdone egg and some supermarket-style ham - not at all aligned with the rest of the homecooked vibe. The plate really did look rather sad, especially compared to the piled-high roast dishes. When my friend asked for some more chips (since his portion was about a quarter of the size of a fish and chips portion), he was charged for them! I don't think the staff noticed how poor the plate looked... I could not fault my own meal but the disappointing ham, egg and chips has unfortunately lost The Antelope that fifth star from me. Please have a look at this dish! It's definitely not up to par with the usual food offerings from you or Fuller's. Otherwise, a really excellent pub.

A quiet atmosphere and great service, if you’re a fan of good fullers ales and great food this is the place for you. A classic pub feel, and would recommend the beef burger with bacon. Can’t beat a flame grilled patty
I. S.
Lovely little Fullers pub with friendly service. Glad to see some interesting Plant-based options on the menu. 👍🏼
B. S.
The Antelope is a beautiful, traditional pub in Belgravia, with plenty of character and a history that apparently dates back to the 17th century.
Perfect spot for a little drink when around Sloan Square area, once you've found a place as it's not in a very obvious location.
There's a selection of Fuller's beers on the tap as well as few others, for example Peroni.
The beer lines must be cleaned very often as beer tastes delicious.
They also have a decent selection of gin in reasonable prices.
All the pub is very clean. The toilets are most probably one of the cleanest toilets I've seen in London pub.
Very nice staff and great atmosphere. Well recommend 👍
M. S.
Nice cosy pub with lovely beers and a few outside tables. Food not great
J. O.
Classic pub. Used to work here a million years ago and it's still a heck of a place!
E. A.
Been coming here for years... cosy, traditional and relaxing, as a local pub should be... Good meeting place.
J. P.
This is the pub where Peter Warlock used to drink. Worth going just for that, even if you've never heard of him. Tell them I told you.
M. J.
Nice olde world pub, friendly staff a good find on our walkabout after visiting the V&A
J. T.
Excellent Sunday roast with Yorkshire Pudding👍. Great services and very pretty colorful plants in front of the pub. Only 2-3 minutes walk from Sloan Square station.
R. J.
Traditional friendly Fuller's pub near Sloane Square. Good beer selection and a great atmosphere. Interesting food menu too.
P. R.
Nice friendly pub with a great selection of beer's and ales,
D. H.
I has a really lovely chicken pie and some great rose. The service was friendly. The pub is very traditional looking and has a nice warm feeling about it.
A. B.
Lovely authentic Pub.
Friendly Manager and bar staff.
M. M.
Good pub. Fairly priced food and drink. Staff were nice. Will return.
G. E.
Clean, well spaced out, great beer and reliable food. Excellent place for a lunchtime treat.
T. D.
Well kept Fuller's ales and a warm welcome. We'll be back for the rugby on Saturday.
A. S.
We had a lovely meal. Different menu options. All food nicely cooked and well presented. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We will be back.
D. S.
As a street photographer (albeit as a hobby), the amazing Georgian terraced buildings in this area are an amazing backdrop for my models. This pub has been a lovely interlude for mid-shoot refreshments. (Plus a place for them to change outfits in private!)
Only had snacks and drinks to date, but the place has a lovely (friendly but well-run) feel about it. Clearly a great, loyal clientele too!
J. P.
Such a lovely little traditional pub! Staff were very friendly and welcoming, I specifically love the atmosphere of the place, the overall vibe of it. They have a great selection of drinks and the usually food, they taste great too! I highly recommend this place and my first time going here won't definitely not the last. Great job!
A. K.
There may be a string of Astons & Rolls outside but inside it's ye cute, simple woody pub, albeit with a mean string of gins access doorstop sarnies
W. F.
Never disappoints. Been going there since the 70s. Great pub, full of charm and super staff.
L. J.
Good meeting place near to Sloane Square and Victoria coach station. Fullers so you know what you are getting. Great for reading a book with a slow pint.
D. P.
Great location and initial impression, let down by average service and food. Ale selection is very good though!
M. G.
Lovely little pub away from the main road and crowds on Sloan Square - glad I’ve found it! The selection of beers is really good and the staff very friendly. Will definitely come again next time I’m in the area.
A. K.
Nice staff. Homely old fashioned no nonsense pub.
S. D.
Great traditional pub. Compact with a central bar, loads of wood panelling, bar stools and friendly efficient service, worth a visit.
g. b.
Lovley old pub with eating areas up stairs and private rooms
M. S.
Proper old-fashioned pub. Great real ales.
N. D.
One of a very few pubs left in Belgravia. Serves a good range of fullers beers. Good menu.
M. Z.
The best staff members ever. Sandra is the best.
O. J.
The Ant is a tucked away little pub off Eaton Square and Sloane Square. The brewery is Fuller's and its a pub I've been in many times. I would guess it's perfect before a performance at the Royal Court. The food is the best I've had in a Fuller's pub. The crowd is quite a mixture. It's a small old pub with all its original features. It has a restaurant upstairs. There area wide variety of ales wines etc as you would expect. The bar staff are very friendly although constantly changing. You never can tell if this place will be busy or quiet. I would highly recommend a visit.
S. K.
Great little local with charming service and surprisingly killer wings.
E. H.
Used to be one of my favourite pubs in town and while the beer is still excellent and the interior and general feel is still right up there, the food is slipping...! Small portions and poorly cooked veg on our roasts today and looking around there are lots of people leaving their vegetables presumably for the same reasons. I remember coming here and having really good pub food but they need to refocus on their kitchen.
M. J.
Great pub. We went there after the Proms because South Ken was heaving. It was a great place to drink good beer at a table and be able to hear each other talk. Modern but also a bit of traditional England just off Sloane Square.
V. S.
One of the best pubs around Sloane Square. A must stop if you're in the area. Great service, friendly staff, great pricing, good food, checks all the quintessential English pub boxes.
J. M.
Lovely service and a pint of Guinness to match.
M. S. D.
Easily the best fish and chips in west London!
A. W.
Lovely lovely little pub tucked away on the back streets of Chelsea. The staff are fab and it's all set up with the necessary Covid guidelines.
We loved our time here...the food was yummy!
N. J.
Nice old style pub and very reasonable prices for the area. Service at the bar was swift and efficient despite it being busy. Food that I saw being served looked really good and one of our party that had a vegetarian dish, said it was good.
R. P.
An old traditional English pub with a lovely table service area upstairs. The food is simple but delicious. Beware the suited crowd that come in for drinks and get very lose on a warm afternoon - at one stage there was a guy with his pants around his ankles in the downstairs bar
L. G.
Great place for groups, visited the room upstairs for several parties. Although you will need to warn your guests as it can be hard to find (the stairs are at the back of the bar). The toilets are half way up the stairs (also sometimes hard to find). Really central location and friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.
c. d.
Friendly pub well kept beer
R. J.
Just returned home from a low-key but excellent Sunday lunch here for 5 of us. Nothing wrong with the tasty roast sirloin or the generous chicken caesar. Not mobbed as it can be on a weekday evening, but busy enough to have some atmosphere. Nice staff & prices. We'll return.
J. H.
Friendly local pub with decent choice of beers and a good wine list. Pub food is good, reasonably priced and just about the only place near Sloane Sq. you can get fish and chips. Does get very busy fridays / w/ends so best book a table first.
T. R.
We were looking for a pub near Sloane Square where we could sit down and enjoy a quick beverage before heading to a show. Within five minutes walking distance we found this little pub tucked away on a quiet street and thankfully, despite all the bars closer to the station being standing room only, this place was thankfully mostly empty.
With big comfy armchairs and an extensive gin range we were happy to get cosy and enjoy a quick drink. The prices are more then reasonable and the service is quick and friendly.
We didn't eat here but the food smelt delicious! If I'm in the area I will definitely stop by again as it's a great respite from the trendy expensive places nearby.
J. B.
Classic traditional pub just off Sloane Square. Very rare to fine Veltins on draft which is good but it would benefit more from being served ice cold in my opinion or for the glasses to be iced. Slightly bizarre musty type smell when we popped in but I think this could be a result of a deep clean. Locals were friendly but everyone had left by 2230 on a Tuesday.
R. K.
What a lovely little pub. Found it by accident as it's off the main roads. Original decor and relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of beer and spirits. Very friendly staff.
A. A.
Good pub nice beer good atmosphere.
L. A.
My new favourite pub. Lovely central bar area with seats all round. A good space at the back showing the football. Delicious burger for £12. Lovely staff. As good as it gets! I'll be back!
C. L.
Well worth the visit. Pleasant staff, traditional english pub nestled alongside the opulence of Sloane square. Great to find somewhere like this amongst all the busy streets around here, you’d easily miss it unless you knew where to look! Food was faultless, would certainly come back. Theres decent vege roast and other vege options too. Good selection of ales, wines and classics.
K. M.
No screens; no annoying pop music, just the music of people's voices. Warm, comfortable atmosphere (William Morris curtains, beautiful three-sided bar in the center of the main room, even lovely tile in the bathrooms). The Antelope was a Godsend on an evening when we were so tired we could barely walk another step. Best pie we ate throughout our stay in England.
M. T.
Fantastic place. Feels like a locals pub but just round the corner from Sloane Square with it's very different vibe. As a rule you can't go wrong with Fullers.
S. G.
Great pub hidden away really good prices great friendly service . I shouldn't really be praising this place to highly or it will get to packed . Great place to meet if you are going to cadogan hall or Royal Court Theatre
R. C.
Delightful neighbourhood pub in an upmarket residential street with lots of character, a wide range of well-kept beers - especially from the Fullers portfolio - and friendly, efficient staff. The pint of ESB I had was one of the best I have had in London for a long time.
G. M.
Good beer selection and food.
m. w. (. t.
I used to meet up with old school buddies here decades ago and it's still charming. Great watering hole !
D. H.
Historic and un-messed with pub in Belgravia that gets the core details of a good pub spot on. Well kept beer, good food, and the kind of place where you pop in for a pint and stay for 2, or go for a meal and find yourself still there at closing time
H. G. K.
Lovely traditional london boozer. Only down side is no out side drinking.
J. C.
So shines a light in a weary world. Dark and cold outside. Warm and hearty inside.
B. R.
What a fantastic place to enjoy an evening or three... Visiting and working here in the UK, friends of mine who have been going for ~15 years introduced me to this place. Wow, what a winner! If you haven't been, then you need to. And if you're allergic to gluten, then let them know and they will make sure to feed you amazingly well and gluten-free!!! Yesterday I had the beef burger, fantastic... and tonight, the sea bass was absolutely fantastic! Soooo, better show up and see us in the corner one of these days... Cheers, from the newest addition ;-)... and thanks again!
E. J.
Crackin' Fullers pub just off Sloane Square.. Good beer and food, even a friendly welcome. Interestingly decorated, go see. Used it several times and never disappointed.
S. Y.
Great traditional pub. Good beers and friendly staff. The food is good but get there early as seating is minimal. Just far enough away but close enough to Sloane Square.
R. T.
Pub near Sloane Square, but reasonable prices considering location. Good quality food. Staff service good, but takes a while to get their attention at the bar even though it wasn't that busy.
S. S.
Good old fashioned pub a short walk ftom Sloane Square station. They have "snug" that you can reserve for small gatherings. Good selection of beers including non alcoholic ones!
S. H.
Nice chorizo scotch egg, chips not great, beer selection good.
S. S.
Traditional English pub hidden away I the side streets of Belgravia. Popular with locals and nearby retail staff.
Dining rooms both downstairs and upstairs.
Have tried the slow roast duck which was perfectly cooked and succulent. Will revisit this place.
E. C.
Authentic pub experience. Good choice of food and drinks. Can get very busy so I advise booking in advance.
I. D.
Another great pub in Belgravia. Only stopped here for a pint but a cracking good one it was - ESB. If you want to drink a cocktail while posing at the bar - don't drink here. This is a proper old pub, if you don't like it then go somewhere else.
R. W.
Beautiful pub great carrictor excellent food and staff make you very welcome
C. H.
Fullers Brewery serving its lovely Honey Dew! Authentic atmosphere, local crowd, never too busy. Learned a Coin Game here! Be careful bartender can kick you out if you are too loud.
T. G.
Great pub, great service. Hopefully it'll be a short 4 weeks of lockdown/ takeaways followed by a well deserved bumper Christmas.
M. G.
Classic old pub just off of the main drag in Sloane Square.
Great to see that the owners have resisted the obvious move to make it a posh gastro pub.
B. J.
This is a lovely little pub tucked away in a quiet area. The food is amazing and they have really knowledgeable staff. The decor is very cute and traditional. It is always clean and tidy.
X. W.
Probably my favorite pub in London because it balances class with a total lack of pretentiousness. The staff are friendly, there's a good selection of ales at fair prices (for London) and there's usually a spare couple of seats. The clientele are a little on the blue side of the gene pool but that's usually a good thing.
W. T.
We were in Belgravia for a week in June 2014 - this was the best pub food we found for the price. Note: we ate at a couple of the other pubs in the immediate area during our stay.
Small pub with friendly staff and good food. I highly recommend if you are in the area.
B. M.
Cosy, traditional, Fullers so solid standards (I’ve had better pints of Pride but hopefully an exception). Comfy seats, friendly engaged service, gas fire in back, less touristy and more local - a plus in this area.
M. J.
An OK place for a beer or food, but since the upstairs has been converted for restaurant seating, the ground floor is often overcrowded and you often feel you're standing in everyone's way. Reasonable selection of ales.
Z. C.
Was a great day until the snotty kiwi waitress start throwing the furniture around! Other staff were very pleasant and the food OK, but its off the list for Sunday lunch and that's all 25 of us.
M. W.
Just OK. Only six or so main meal choice of which a third were unavailable so no fish or vegetarian. Roast ok but gravy probably from granuals. Wine and beer fine. Service friendly but slow. Ideal for Cadogan Hall but wouldn't bother again otherwise.
J. A.
Cosy Fullers pub near Sloane Square. Serves good food but best not to eat by the bar as it gets crowded (upstairs dining room not always open).
P. C.
Looks wonderful with very helpful manager. Unfortunately we arrived about 3:45 pm for Sunday lunch, which was the start of a 30 minute break for the kitchen. Will certainly go back.
J. Y.
Fair choice of beers, nice staff, efficient service, good atmosphere.
S. M.
Nice bar, convient to Sloane Square station. Regularly busy Thursday onwards. Good selection of drinks, polite staff.
S. S.
Nice London pub doing regular pub food, but doing it well. The charcuterie plate to share was very good value. Worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.
H. S.
Gorgeous cosy pub. Crowded but still pleasant. Has nice separate room for private gathering. You even find parking space.
I. R.
Fabulous Fish and Chip and friendly staff
J. L.
Nice staff and the food is great. They have a good range of on tap drinks but I wish you could get a lager with a good head here!
M. C.
Nice pub for a drink round Sloane Square. The restaurant area upstairs is always a good spot, head up there if it's busy in the main bar.
A. M.
The place is beautifully decorated and offers many ways to spend a wonderful night , dining with friends or family. The staff's swiftness also adds to the nice impression of the restaurant.
J. R.
A great establishment for a pint, full of people after work, good lager and pilsner on tap. Upstairs dining area. In the heart of Chelsea but down to earth. The Antelope coat of arms is a Springbok, made me home sick for South Africa. Cheers
F. U.
Great lil pub, keepin in Old skool!! Cheers 🍻
C. T.
Back in the Antelope catching up with an old friend from many years ago, I worked here as a barman over 40 years ago happy memories.
D. K.
Monday night so not sure if it being packed is usual or not but great atmosphere, great service and great food. What more could you ask for?
Will definitely be returning if in neighbourhood and as far as I'm concerned that's the highest praise!
E. K.
Lots of nooks and crannies, good beer selection and friendly staff. Popular neighbourhood pub serving food all day.
P. B.
Old style pub (in a good way). Good range of beers and wines. Just around corner from Sloane Sq but not a tourist in sight.
F. i. h. w.
What a lovely Sunday lunch. A good roast, a lovely and not too stressed service. Good wine and perfect/quiet location. I would absolutely recommend!
E. J.
Great beers, lovely little pub
R. F.
Lovely pub, reliable in a chain style, good staff and beer (the fish finger sandwich was rank though)
J. K.
Very very slow service at the bar. Weak tasteless pale ale. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand was good. Trad English pub.
C. S.
Very lovely old style pub. Nice pint of London Pride. Nothing better.
S. N.
Cosy pub and friendly staff.
J. R.
Proper pub with relaxed atmosphere and great service. Excellent bloody marys!! The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because the food is a bit disappointing
D. N.
Back in the day when my wife was hot totty about 1969, we used to frequent the Antelope tavern's upstairs restaurant where the entraecote steak and Gevrey Chambertin were to die for ( the steak literally melting in the mouth )
and the waiter in 'tails', is it still like this .
Also we used to park the Bentley just outside I bet you can't do that anymore .
J. C.
Had a good evening. Very well looked after by the team behind the bar. Cheers!
A. H.
Old fashioned pub popular with locals. Nice bar staff and ok food. A small snug area which is quite quirky
D. B.

A. P.
Cosy traditional pub. Limited choices, but perfect place to have a cosy afternoon/evening. Unfortunately the clientele were a bit "Made in Chelsea"
M. G.
Best fish and chips I've ever had. Table upstairs was quiet, away from the very active bar.

(Translated) Nice pub near the Cadogan Hall on two floors with reasonable prices, which is ideal for a meal before a concert. The upper floor is decorated and decorated like a small restaurant. Here you can also place your order at the table. Drinks such as a beer, cocktails or soft drinks you get then rather down the bar. The food is good and the selection small but adequate.
(Original)
