Cool place with nice cocktail menu and some classic drinks. Staff is really helpful and nice. Relaxing atmosphere and good mood are guaranteed

I've been to many cocktail bars, in particular in London and New York. I have a high standard. So I was really delighted with this bar. Really good service, both attentive and informative. Excellent cocktails, including my first clear Manhattan. Not one duff drink all evening, and the drink with Laphroaig and peaches was one of the best I've had. The piano player on a Sunday evening was an added delight. Costs are reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Tiny so reserve. And reservations are for 1 hour early. Perfect caperleaf martini, you can just order off menu like no problem. It's a serious cocktail place. Don't go there expecting umbrella or parrots or dry ice in your drink. It's also not super flashy you go there for a drink and a chat. But if you want an excellent gimlet or sour made to perfection, don't hesitate. 3 of us had 4 cocktails each and it was £120 which for London and quality of drinks and service was reasonable.

Truly one of the insitituon in the London bar scene. This venue exist for over 12 years and is still on top of the cocktails novelties and service standards.
I especially recommend the Vintage Manhattan and always start my visit with their famous Prairie Oysters.
The food menu is a small selection of good products, they even cut the Prociutto a la minute.
You will experience one of the best service in London, from the moment you enter until you pass the door again the staff will take care of you and make you forget the time.
They have life piano music on Wednesday and Sunday nights.
If you like cocktails, classics and experimental or if you just look for a relaxing evening around Angel this is the place you are looking for.

The bar with no name is fantastic. Featuring world class cocktails at a reasonable price. This bar has friendly knowledgeable staff with wonderful service and they are very talented. You can go here for brilliant cocktails or for one of their fantastic cocktail masterclasses which represent amazing value for money. I have been to many to quality bars including Sir Harry's in New York and this is my favourite bar in the whole world.

Another lovely evening in this wonderful cocktail bar tucked away in the corner. Amazing service even though it was busy and cocktails on point once again. The new staircase waiting system is ingenious

Can not recommend this place highly enough. The staff were so so friendly and the service was impeccable (a word I have only used once in my life, in this review!) - as an example, my partner went out for a cigarette at one point during the evening and barely 2 seconds after she had left her seat one of the staff came over and took her drink to the freezer so that it would stay cold while she was out! Absolutely amazing experience and I will be telling everyone I know to check this place out if they're ever in the area! 10/10!

Stumbled in here on a fluke chance. What a pleasant surprise. Understated and simple, but simply wonderful! The Bar Manager, Uros, was fantastic. Live music in such a tight and intimate setting is always an absolute treat.
H. T.
My favorite bar in London, I come here often. the cocktails are delicious, the live music is always fantastic and the bar staff are friendly, attentive (they will put your cocktail in the fridge if you pop to the loo) and extremely knowledgeable. Great date spot.

On the corner of Colebrooke Row off the Essex Road.
Delightful, dark, tiny. Cocktails are perfect - both signatures and classics. Very much set up as a date place.
Tony, the guy who owns it, is also behind Zetter Townhouse, Untitled and Termini.
D. C.
Really happy with my experience here. The drinks are great. It’s small, but it’s actually a great date spot. The staff is also really friendly.
S. R.
Amazing bar with lovely staff
Very intimate open venue with a small drinks selection.
A live pianist playing jazz music.
I unfortunately didn't like the taste of the cocktail I had chosen and the staff kindly made me a bespoke cocktail after asking me what kind of cocktails I like to drink at no extra cost and it tasted amazing!
I will definitely be returning!

Went there on a Saturday early evening. This place is sure small, so booking was a good idea.
Considering all the hype around this place, I was a bit worried that it might be uptight or pretentious. It wasn't. Servers were really friendly and helpful. They really took their time to explain an to listen to the kind of drinks you might like or dislike. The resulting recommendations were really good.
I would say that the drinks aren't that creative, but they aren't your casual cocktails, and they are really well made. What was creative was the amuse bouche oyster drink, a nice savory start.
R. T.
After having visited twice I can't really say this place is more than ok, and that's being a bit sympathetic. The staff is nice and the pianist lovely, lending the place a nice atmosphere that you might get to enjoy depending a lot on who else is there as it can get quite loud at times. The drinks were, unfortunately, not impressive, taking into account what you pay for them - i.e. it's expensive for what it is. The staff will subtly push you to order more drinks, or get you the bill if you say anything other than "yes, please". They're not rude about it, though.
M. T.
First of all, the place doesn't have a name. there is but no :) the place is small and warm. I felt like I was in a movie. waiters bartenders everyone made me feel like I was in an old movie. I don't know, maybe that's what happened to me. There is also a piano in that tiny area and if you go on Wednesdays, you can have a very nice night with the piano. I've already added it to my favorite places.
S. G.
This place is a gem! The staff are so kind and friendly it's definitely my new favorite place in Islington! The cocktails are 100/100!
G. E.
Small place but excellent cocktails and fast table service. They do interesting twists on traditional cocktails - I had a Manhattan which goes through a distillation process first making it clear and smoother than the regular. They gave us all complimentary Bloody Mary shots - see pic!
D. T.
Amazing cocktail place inspired by 1930s Italy in its awesome, basic simplicity. Very pricey but they can make any cocktails you want from the classics (I tested them), they use proper glassware and they are experimental in some of their own drinks close to molecular gastronomy. Hidden gem to visit!
A. S.
Classy but relaxed atmosphere in this intimate venue, with tasty cocktails made by a bartender who exudes obvious passion for the art of mixology. The superb piano playing was a huge added bonus! Had a great time.
M. A.
Great ambience and an authentic type of bar. Returned last night after 4 years and it’s exactly the same. Excellent cocktails with knowledgeable mixologists.

Only photo..
Vintage vibe with a cute piano, cool decor!
It was a little loud for an intimate setting, yet I loved it for the 10mins it was playing.
Where to get original Martini cocktails. Our waitress table service was genuine, spoke fluent French!
Will be going back.
A. G.
At 69 Colebrook Row, everything is about details and perfectly made cocktails. A very scenic speakeasy ran by talented bartenders. A favorite of mine.
N. P.
This place is a hidden treasure, it has so much going for it including great service, amazing atmosphere with a talented piano player and yummy cocktails. Everyone should try the oyster shot!

What a find. Blink and you’ll miss it but if you do manage to find it or better still have made a reservation you won’t be disappointed. Inside is small, crowded and noisy with people moving back and forth from the bar as a live band (somehow squeezed in the corner) looks after the music. We visited on a Friday night and were greeted by the team who were aware, attentive and accommodating for my group of 4; ensuring we were seated as soon as possible and out of the way. Cocktails are superb and understandably you may have to wait longer than you’d like on busy nights like weekends, but well worth it. Ordering small plates like the jamon (delicious) go great with the drinks and should keep you busy between rounds that can get pricey the longer you choose to stay, but all in all an excellent bar with a great atmosphere that I look forward to visiting again in the future!
M. W.
Small venue and small menu, but all the cocktails are worth the money and service is very good.
K. T.
Excellent cocktails during London cocktail month! We were absolutely blown away that at a time like this we turned to find a pianist playing actual live music! The atmosphere (though of course socially distanced) was as close to pre-corona as I've found in 2020. Highly recommended with very professional service.
E. S.
Very different place to have drinks in. Just go try it out. Service is mega, drinks are top. Love it
R. M.
Lovely little joint, tucked away somewhere you wouldn’t see off the Main Street. Really lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Cocktails are well crafted, and they have a nice ever changing menu, to keep it interesting. We sat at the piano seat, on a busy night when we didn’t have a reservation. They did their best to find us a spot. It did not disappoint. Sometimes they also have live music: a 3 piece jazz band.
i.
When we arrived on Saturday, the bar, the tables and the piano were taken but instead of telling us to wait outside or come back later, we were invited to wait in the staircase with a drink.
The waiters were absolutely lovely, super smiley and welcoming. The drinks were delicious (a bit pricey but very good quality) and original. The atmosphere and the music were great.
It’s one of the nicest customer services I have had in a bar. I will definitely come back!
A. v. V.
Great small little find. Good cocktails and nice ambiance
F. F.
Officially my favourite drinks bar in London! Charming, cosy, small, amazing. Music is always cool and classy. Live music on Tue/Thu and Sun.
The drinks are just superb and the staff is SO friendly and knowledgeable. They really will prepare you the perfect drink based on what you like. The cheeseboard is also great.
F.
Best Martini in London! 69 Colebrooke Row is one of London's classics when it comes to cocktail bars. The place is quite small, but super cozy and authentically designed. It's a classic cocktail bar with a Film Noir touch. The cocktails are world class and as mentioned the Martini ( they do a truffle and caper leaf Martini!!!) is incredible. Service is on point and the piano player playing twice per week, just as the live band on Sundays put this already first class bar experience on another level.
W. T.
It's a nice little bar & the cocktails are good, though small. Quite cramped, as other reviewers have mentioned, but as long as you're aware beforehand, this isn't really a problem. Just don't go with a large bunch of friends. And best to book a table, rather than just turn up, though I've done this once or twice and managed to get a couple of seats.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I've visited a few times over the years, including twice this year. My only concern about my most recent visit was the live music. The musician played the piano very loudly and was really pounding on the keys. In such a small space, it would seem more appropriate to have someone gently tinkling away in the background. My friend & I only stayed for one drink as it was impossible to have any sort of conversation. Staff did help us move tables, but it wasn't any quieter at the new table. He was a good player, it was just too loud for that small space. A shame.
Φ. Κ.
A lovely and minimalistic venue with excellent cocktails. The nibbles are high quality too. The staff is always professional and will always be happy to recommend something for the undecided with just a couple of inputs. Live music every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at no additional cost.
B. S.
Awesome little place. Not too many tables so it's best to call and book. Just off the main Street in an alley. Usually there's live music on piano but during COVID it wasn't available. Then there's the amazing Serena! The service is really good and prompt. Being a small place the service is very personalised and they even notice when your glass of water is empty and they fill it up. 🙂 A bit expensive but great for dates 🥰 Some parking available nearby. They make a killer Martini. 🤪
D. W.
Quite simply one of the best cocktail bars in London. It's a very small place so it's definitely worth reserving a table but I cannot recommend it enough. Every single drink I've had here (and I had quite a lot!) was a journey through flavour... incredibly well balanced, complex and basically fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough if you're into cocktails.
K. W.
Fabulous cocktails, fantastic service! The almost missable, hidden bar is layed out as a speakeasy with blackout blinds and low lighting. With the jazz it all adds fantastic atmosphere. If your in the area see if they can squeeze you in, it's great.
N. I.
Great cocktails and atmosphere. Live piano some times. Highly recommended on a week day when it's not packed.
M. D.
Very nice speakeasy style cocktail bar.
The cocktails are superb, delicious and their recommendations were on form.
Would have rated a 5 but we were seated to one side and the waiter said he'd find us a seat when one became available but didn't.
Otherwise an excellent every with a jazz pianist playing from 9pm.
L. V.
Sophisticated cocktails. Attentive service. Romantic vibes.
F.
This place is tiny so always book. Cocktails are great and the atmosphere is nice but as it is branded as a speakeasy, i was expecting the place to be more hidden or jazzier. Waiters wear cool uniforms and watching them make the cocktails is great but 1h spent there is probably enough.
G. Y.
Great service from these guys, we were late, very late and I had kept a constant communication between them and I while we attempted making it there. Finally realizing that we were so late it wasn't fair on them, I told them to release the table and received a message back to say, try us when you are around they'd try to accommodate us. We did eventually arrive, over an hour late for our table and they welcomed us nicely, offering us space either at the piano or at the bar. We opted for the piano. Service was impeccable and the drinks were good, as it was, we only stayed for the one round of drinks but I was sure to leave extra service above the standard. The staff are well trained and offer great service, the drinks are well mixed and the bar itself was quiet and charming. A great spot.
J. W. (.
This is the best cocktail bar you can find in London! It's small and cozy and the cocktails on their menu are simply amazing. To describe the atmosphere here, it's like a journey in time placing you on set of old 50s movie, where appropriately dressed bartenders serve you exquisite drinks and swinging jazz music soaks from the speakers. If you're lucky and come here at night a live piano music is just a cherry on top. Perfect place for a date but as great if you just fancy a night out by yourself with a glass of something special. 6*/5!
B. W.
Lovely staff, and great vibe. I told the bartenders the kind of thing I like and they made me 3 cocktails off the menu that I'd never had before and they were all great. They really know their stuff. One of the best cocktail bars in London!
M. C. S.
A quaint and stylish venue...there is a 1920's vibe that radiates throughout. perfect for a date night or a nightout with friends. Covid safetey aware and social Distance Friendly. These Guys have one thing on their minds and thats customer experience. Great service...keep up the good work.
L. P.
A superb cocktail bar. Lovely intimate, vintage atmosphere and decor. Extremely competent and conscientious staff. Very well crafted menu, with the ability to order even quite obscure classic cocktails off-menu. Definitely among the best bars in London.
F. P.
It is the best cocktail bar here in London. The drinks are very versatile and relaxing. They also offer a classy and romantic wine. Really delicious but a bit pricey but surely satisfying. It is truly a cool bar with lovely and alive music.
A. V.
The best cocktail bar in London! My friend recommended me and I am so happy I went to try this gorgeous place. I have never thought a drink and its taste and smell can bring back a memory so vividly. I tried the Pagan cocktail and I felt I am in our old cellar back at home (originally I am not from the UK). Maybe it is the 'Pagan Incense' or the 'beetroot vodka' or witchcraft but I could smell and taste that room like I was there. It sounds maybe a bit weird tho! :) I can just recommend the place! Unique drinks, lovely staff and tasteful music. I will definitely visit again!
N. N.
Cosy cocktail bar with original creations. Drinks menu changes from time to time. They can also make classic cocktails which aren't on the list. There's live music (jazz generally) a few nights a week. Drinks are quite expensive but the overall experience is good. It's a small space, so it's best to make a reservation in advance, even if it's just two of you going.
H. Y.
Small, quiet bar in London. We had excellent service and the cocktails were fantastic. Although the prices were high, they fit in well with other bars in the area. We loved the table service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
T. M.
Amazing drinks and really interesting niche film noir atmosphere. Went for a cocktail masterclass, making 9 of the bars famous cocktails, which were amazing. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, describing the thought behind each drink and the story it was trying to tell. They were also happy to explain the process of making some of the iconic flavours, which I'm currently trying to reproduce in my kitchen!
p. r.
My second visit here. A really nice neignbourhood joint with great service and lucky for me a new outstanding menu. I tried all three of the new drinks from the Martini Menu, Truffle, Caper Leaf, and the house (with Dry Essence apparently made from grape seeds!).
S. Z.
Best Martini cocktail bar in town. Order the Lime Plus Plus - it's not on the menu any more, but they definitely know it. Cocktails cost around £9. It's a small bar, very cozy. They sometimes have live music - a man singing on a piano. It seems like bar from the 30s. Man in white coats mixing and serving cocktails. I recommend to make reservations.
E. G.
This is one of London's gems: some of the best cocktails one can possibly find (and I love the fact that it has a small menu to choose from). Great, relaxed atmosphere and music and very good service.
It is quite small and usually packed, so a reservation is recommended.
P. Á.
New and interesting cocktails! If you ask the waiters / mixologists they can recommend you new drinks that's not on the menu. We had live piano and cello music as well, sadly it didn't last long (we were there quite late). The silent neon flower should be available to buy for home!
B. G.
I’m a huge fan of this bar. The cocktails are all very well constructed and balanced, never feeling too strong nor too sweet.
My favorite is the prairie oyster shooter. It’s a molecular mix of horseradish, various vegetable juices, vodka and various other bits that look like and egg yolk you “shoot” from a small oyster dish. I have had at least ten of these in one sitting (they feel like they have an alcohol content of a third of a cocktail).
The record for most of these consumed in a night by one person is 17. My goal is to break it this year.
G.
Great service, intimate bar with great drinks
A. H.
This place has pretty good service and some eclectic cocktails. You'll need to be in a certain demographic to be a customer. I paid £33 for 3 drinks, one of which was a beer, and almonds you could buy in the supermarket for 50p. You'll need to provide your own illumination to read the menu if you're over 45. You might also need a hearing aid.
D. H.
I had three different cocktails unfortunately I didn't enjoy any of them, my girlfriend didn't like her's either. It's a really cool place with really nice staff and I had wanted to try for a while...I will definitely try again.
D. H.
Exceptional cocktails, some very experimental. Crowded.
K. M.
very nice and cosy bar. Has a nice vibe. The team is looking after you all the time and they very knowledgeable. The cocktails could be better, of course everyone has their own taste, but for me it wasn't perfect although espresso martini taste like heaven.
N. B.
Very small and intimate speak easy cocktail bar off Essex road.
Reservation is a must as they are always full on the door.
Good selection of cocktails, however I would have enjoyed it more if the waiters had been more helpful with choosing the best option.
H. P.
Very nice and tiny place to have a cocktail and very typical of London. A little expensive for a drink but very creative cocktails. Better book early if you want to make sure to have a seat.
E. D. B.
69 Colebrooke Row feels like it's been there forever, and compared to most of the cocktail bars popping up, it has. There's no dry ice or bizarre ingredients on show here, just great cocktails, perfect service and a wonderful atmosphere. The waiters are brilliant at recommending off the menu, so feel free to ask away.
J. L.
This is a wonderful little bespoke bar, tucked behind busy Angel. Its other name is 'bar with no name', because the only sign at their entrance is the label of their street name.
We didn't know we had to have reservations but when we went there the staff was really nice to accomodate us. The seating is very tight and unfortunately there are no back cushions if you're sitting by the window, so I prefer to sit on their other seats because your back gets tired after a while. Sometimes it's quite uncomfortable because the tables get so close to your knees... but this is the kind of space of a typical1920s bar. Dark, smokey, old, an authentic speakeasy.
The drinks are great. It's a small menu because I prefer this where there's not too much to choose from. You can see the bartenders making drinks because the bar is right next to the piano. If you go at a good time they have a musician in to play... and it really is such a great experience. Definitely the best bar in Angel!
F. C.
Great little place for a quiet drink. Lovely staff and good drinks.
S.
If a bar is called "bar with no name" then it has a lot of intrigue and this one really lives up to it. It's a small little hideaway bar in the heart of Angel and it has a lot soul to it too. The cocktail list is really well thought out and it's hard to pick a favourite. This place is good for date nights or if there is a small-ish group.
G. F.
The best cocktail bar in the country. We are from Nottingham and found this bar by accident a few years ago and it has become a must everytime we are in London. The staff are amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable about all their drinks. The atmosphere is great and the decor is classy but comfortable. The drinks are petfectly mixed. If you have to drink anywhere in London, drink here.
Z. D.
A tiny little bar with great service, a good atmosphere but pretty uninspiring cocktails that didn't taste great (none of our four drinks) on our visit. There are better, more affordable bars in the area, including Little Bat further up the road - with much better drinks, atmosphere, and much more room!
J. C.
It's a little bit cramped here, but don't let that put you off.
The cocktails really are imaginative, and made with elegance. Staff are incredibly helpful, and take the time to describe the drinks on offer.
A great place for a date, away from the often trashy weekend Upper Street.
T. A. B.
After visiting most of the best London bars I have to write that cocktails in all of them are marvellous, but that's something you'd expect from places like that. I'll try to describe my experience with this place. I had a few cocktails here and what I liked is that they are served in smaller portions so you can taste more kinds with actually feeling the difference in taste. I found especially interesting that cocktails are served much warmer to what I'm used to - water served as a side was colder than the cocktails. It's something that I have enjoyed a lot as the oils from the citrus peels where much more volatile, but on the other hand it makes the cocktails less accessible to beginners. The highlights of the evening where the Prairie Oyster and Rhubarb Gimlet. Prairie Oyster is more than a cocktail less than a snack. It's something definitely worth trying taste is complex and gives you a lot of stimuli to think about - tomato yolk is lovely. Rhubarb Gimlet is something that I knew I would love after discovering rhubarb as a cocktail ingredient this spring in Pies czy Suka Pure Bar in Warsaw. All drinks are kept on rather strong side, but are well balanced - that's exactly what I like. I highly recommend visit to this place for every lover of classic cocktails with a modern touch.
P. N.
The staff were super nice. The cocktails are nice, but I cut one star because I was really hoping this was a speakeasy bar as I had read online but it is there. Big, bright and obvious!
S. S.
I drank a lot of cocktails here - all of which were amazing. I went of menu once for a corpse reviver and it was so perfectly balanced I could hardly feel any acidity to it. The main show for my friend and I is the pagan cocktail - a golden beet vodka mixed with puerh tea syrup and smoke - it is so amazingly smooth - dangerously smooth. When you put it to your nose it smells as if you have just pulled a beet from the fire. The distilled Manhattan is CLEAR!!! The service here could not have been more loving. I only regret I am not a local and it cannot be my local bar.
D. K.
Very small and intimate place. Try to get a seat at the piano! Classic cocktails with unusual twists. If you're looking for the weirdest thing on the menu, try the oyster cocktail - it's not as bad as it sounds!
R.
We went for a quick martini before dinner. (Martini menu is truly outstanding). Romantic atmosphere, great hospitality and superb piano player!
R. C.
Legendary cocktail bar. Intimate setting with perfectly crafted cocktails. Friendly service and they mix their drinks in rapid time. No problem for them to craft any classic cocktail either.
M. V.
Fantastic place. Very cozy with dim lights and piano on the back gives the place an authentic feeling. The service is very good, they were attentive and even suggested cocktails. Price is ok, but overall had a good time. Definitely coming back!
D. C.
Great 20's atmosphere - nicely decorated speakeasy. Good drinks, pleasant staff, and ordering cocktails off menu is accepted (they make a great Old Fashioned if requested). I will return!
A. L.
Go here for the prairie oyster cocktail! Service is impeccable but make sure you book if you want to hang around! I came here when it was new many moons ago and remember the cocktails were better dressed... Now it's a lot more pared down but I prefer what it was before...
T. B.
A tiny, intimate cocktail bar hidden on an Islington back street a few minutes' walk from Upper Street. Booking is essential given its size, but it shouldn't be a problem to get a table with a week or so's notice. The air of exclusivity is enhanced by the white-coated staff and table service, but the low light and cosy use of space help it to keep a relaxed feel. Nothing on the specials menu tempted me last time I went, but their Old Fashioned was elegant, unfussy and delicious.
A. M.
Best Manhattan ever! Very different to the typical Manhattan, as it was super smooth and closer to white/clear. Service was great. Tiny little place so recommend 2-3 people only in your group if visiting.
J. B.
Delicious cocktails and friendly service
R. A.
A fantastic cocktail bar with really tasty cocktails and brilliant mixologists. It's very small, which makes it have a nice atmosphere - but also means booking is essential for a table!
P. D.
Exceptional cocktail bar. One of the best. Incredible drinkss served by a team of experts. Cosy little venue that is beautifully pulled together - very little space so it's definitely worth reserving seats in advance.
G. C.
Fantastic little "Speakeasy" style bar. White uniformed bar staff, and the Prairie Oyster cocktail is certainly an experience. Make sure you book a table, otherwise you'll never get in.
B. B.
Excellent cocktails and very friendly service. Dominic helps you pick the cocktail to suit your mood and then delivers on it!
D.
Small place with great atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Not blown away by the cocktails (especially for the price you pay), but it's a nice experience.
D. D.
Lovely intimate little cocktail bar. They do very interesting variations on old classics as well as their own inventions. Very limited seating so booking strongly recommended.
C. R.
Offensively good martinis. Best bar in London hands down.
J. C.
£11.50 per cocktails. Delicious, but not exactly great value.
G. D.
The cocktails here are unique but definitely worth you working your way down the list through a couple visits.. abit on the pricey side for cocktails but you get what you pay for really.get here early and make a table booking as space is limited
N. O.
Very small and expensive drinks...music way too loud with bad acoustics. staff were nice.
S. U.
Not the best range for cocktails but I think you go here more for the experience. It wasn't terrible, the staff were cool, But we just didn't like the drinks.
M. M.
Reputed to be one of London's best cocktail bars, this place has an early 20th century vibe. Attentive staff are dressed in white jackets and bring incredible and subtlety delicious drinks.
N. H.
Great staff and amazing atmosphere. Has a really nice feel to it and a live pianist :) . This is a really great bar to catch up with an old friend or a nice starting point for a promising date.
C. A.
A proper cocktail bar where they'll do you any classic you ask for but otherwise have a short thoughtful menu of house originals. I recommend those.
J. F.
Beautiful - Gorgeous Prairie Oysters , Steel Corp awseome- good service - sweet to be given complimentary egg nog - best I have ever had - like liquid Christmas - would be five stars but so dark hard to enjoy choosing cocktails on menus - appreciate the ambience but slightly brighter candles required
J. T.
Staff accommodating and great live piano music. Cocktails are experimental as per description but had a great version of an old fashioned. £10 cocktails.
M. I.
Small, cosy and slightly hidden.. very atmospheric - it feels like you're stepping back in time. Fantastic cocktails, if a wee bit pricy (but, hey, it's London!)
K. P. (.
Starting the night off with the Prairie Oyster (a bloody mary style drink served in a sea shell that you down like an oyster), Emma and I knew we were in for a treat. Table service, super friendly and knowledgable staff, and a great ambiance and atmosphere for chatting, we had a few cocktails more than we normally would but didn't have a single thing to complain about. We booked our table in advance so we had somewhere to sit, which was a perfect idea for a Friday night because the place was packed. (Though no one was standing, which is good because there wasn't enough room for that!) We got seated along the long bench with a table between us and a low stool, but while there was a small party at the table next to us we shared the bench. The waiter didn't mind one bit till they left and a larger party came and that seat was needed, but he gave us a heads up before they arrived so it wasn't awkward or anything. This place gets top marks from me! :)
N. O.
Booking is necessary as the room is small, service is attentive and cocktails are made with some unique ingredients. Nice for an aperitif in a small group.
F. D.
Throw back to artdeco era, waiters in barber shop type jackets. A man at the piano, play mellow melodies and great drinks. Colebrooke Row NEVER disappoints.
C. M.
Nice place with a good atmosphere. However do not expect the typical "dark and calm" cocktail bar experience. Do not really understand what all that fuss is about with their Terroir cocktail. Tasted rather boring to me...
S. P.
A great and truly innovative cocktail bar. Small, relatively clandestine, jazzy (good live music on certain evenings). Professional staff wearing lab coats. Convenient location.

Popped in just as they called last round and they were still very accommodating. We managed to get in an order and have a very good cocktail at a fair price. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.
S. C.
Found it hard to get a table, and I really disliked the oyster cocktail. However it's a really romantic date spot. I'd love to go back for something simpler like a Bellini.
l. t.
Update! April 2013 - if you go, you must ask for the Prairie Oyster; a 'deconstructed bloody mary' according to the bar chaps, and that is NOT an egg yolk. Iiiincredible.
69 Colebrooke Row is not cheap, but then I guess you get what you pay for. Amazing cocktails, and a cracking g&t with cucumber, my favourite. Tiny little place, but if you're lucky you'll go on a day when the pianist is there and when there is a free spot to perch. I've been going there a year or two and it is still one of my favourite bars.
S. L.
One of the best martinis I've had in London.
B. C.
Really cool bar, friendly staff and original drinks! Loved the welcome drink. And very unique. All round amazing vibes
M. K.
So amazing. Please go. I've been to so many speakeasies and they make the best drinks. Three continents and many American states. Not pretentious and superb service, drinks, and entertainment.
K. G.
Great cocktails, great mixologists. One star down as could have done with a little more atmosphere. However it was a Thursday night.
P. G.
Drink are 👌ordering machines are over complicated

Excellent and intimate location to enjoy a good few cocktails on a date or even with close friends. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere and drinks are well priced.

Behind the beer pumps and glowing fridges, the spirit and mixer ranges are getting ever more of a workout across London’s bars. It seems that places can be judged by the quality of their Dirty Martinis as much as they can their neatly stacked burgers and chunky chips. At 69 Colebrooke Row, tucked away on an unassuming street corner, bartender turned mad scientist Tony Conigliaro has taken this idea to the extreme. For Tony, precision is everything and every detail is attended to in his spirited brews, as he strives to make the perfect cocktail and perfect place in which to imbibe it in this gorgeous little Islington establishment.
Aesthetically it’s 50s film noir, red leather and dark wood – and all about intimacy. Tony wants to tell a story with his drinks, and it’s a riveting read. With cocktails including the Death in Venice and the Oh Gosh, each cocktail has been crafted from bare ingredients in a laboratory (literally) not far from the bar itself. This is molecular gastronomy boozing. You get the sense that safety specs, pipettes and white coats come into full force behind closed doors. The highlight has to be a cocktail called La Rose. Champagne with a sugar cube infused with the scent of a rose, all built from the simple idea of drinking a nice glass of champers in the countryside. Jolly nice indeed.
69 Colebrooke Row actively encourages its punters to ask questions and learn about the level of care that has gone into every drink, not just with the staff but with the other patrons too. Before long everyone’s chatting and using Jilly Goolden lingo with wanton abandon. This isn’t just drinking, it’s a full on experience – and a very tasty one at that. You’ll soon catch yourself pointing into space and nodding knowingly as you decide it’s definitely a note of Madeira cake you’ve just detected.
A stone's throw away from the bar, Pink Floyd’s old recording studios plays home to the Drinks Factory laboratory. Complete with centrifuge, water baths, Rotavapors and dehydrators, the lab is used to produce unique bespoke ingredients and to develop new recipes and methods using contemporary techniques. The space is also used to run a training school. Safe to say that if Heston Blumenthal fancied a tipple, he’d beeline here, but it’s not full of fireworks and explosions like his restaurants, things here are much more subtle than that. Head on down for a taste sensation you won’t forget, and good chat while you’re at it.

Fab little bar, delicious cocktails and lovely staff. I often take friends and visitors here and we always have a good night. Small and perfectly formed!!
M.
Great cocktails in a tiny location. Thursday there's live piano, but I can't emphasise strongly enough the need to make a reservation first
F. K. (.
Very friendly, excellent attentive yet unobtrusive service. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Great music!
N. K.
Fave local, great cocktails, lovely staff!
P. R.
Amazing hidden gem! We absolutely LOVED this bar! Their drinks are carefully crafted and perfectly assembled. Must Stop on London Trip!
V. L.
Incredible bar with amazing, well-balanced cocktails made by an expert and efficient team! Bar is on the small side so not ideal for larger groups
T. B.
Best cocktails I've ever had, and friendly staff. Awesome atmosphere too with live piano music.
J. S.
Probably the best cocktail bar in London. The cocktails are excellent and the bar workers delighted to explain and tell you about the cocktails.
B. B. M. P.
Cool little cocktail bar with crazy stuff by Tony Conigliaro. Ask for a Woodland Martini, not on the menu. A delicious mix of gin and amontillado sherry with house bitters.
M. P.
Looking for great cocktails and hospitality in Angel?...
Bar 69 Colebrooke Row is the right place for you.
Best for Dry Martinis!
E. W.
One of the best places to go to if you love a beautiful cocktail in a no frills cocktail bar. A place for the connoisseur not the masses. It's like taking a step back in time to Casa Blaca
M. M.
My companion asked for a martini, recieved a sour in a martini glass. I asked for something creative with Woodford or Makers, they had neither spirit, and I was presented with a by the book old fashioned. This bar's glory days are behind it, in 2015 they can't get the basics right.
J. M.
Staff were cool and exchanged my drink when I smelt it and it was disgusting. It's really expensive though. 2 cocktails and 2 bottles of beer came to £34
S. C.
I'll keep this simple: great cocktails made by amazing staff. From the classics to fantastic unique cocktails, they're all perfectly made
B. D.
Fantastic drinks and atmosphere.
c. B.
Tiny cocktail bar, near Angel. Great selection, but also very competent off the menu. Great music on SUnday nights. Well worth a visit.
K. C.
Not overly impressed by the cocktails taste wise but tried only two anyway. The place is simple but very convincing. I'll come back!
N. Y.
Reservations are required. Very small space. Drinks are good but very expensive. No music so it gets a little awkward when no one is speaking. Not as good as I thought.
C. A.
Amazing cocktail bar. It's a small space so make a booking. But absolutely worth it.
J. D.
Yes very nice, big recommend.. yes yes... sat here now... drunk drunk.
Ring ahead to get a table as it's only small
Staff are great
Blah blah
Why are you still reading
Just go there already...
D. T.
The service was great, but I didn't dig the cocktails.
F. M.
Really nice but small place with original tasty cocktails. You should definitely give it a try because it's somewhat unique.
M. M.
The Cocktails were great, however the seating and tables were so cramped that it was uncomfortable and also difficult to have a conversation. Not a good place for a date.
A. M.
Sipped my way through their martini menu, these boys know how to make a drink. I'll be back for more
S. P. N.
The cocktails are nice, the staff is super nice. But the bar was not as speakeasy as I hoped it would be!
A. D.
Fabulous cocktail bar. The mixologists (proper word?) know their stuff. Usually essential to book a table.
T. R.
Cosy little cocktail place often with live music serving up some delicious cocktails - both classics and their own inventions.
J. W.
Has been one of my favorite late night places for years. Ending a night there on an evening when the pianist is in the house is one of my favorite ways to while away the midnight hours.
J. H.
If you squint you'd think you were in your living room. It's that small. Amazing drinks though, but not a casual event. Go with a healthy bank balance and book if possible.
M. K.
Fine selection of cocktails. Jazzy ambience and easy to go off-piste on the list. They make a fine Manhattan.
J. J. S.
Cosy bar, almos like being in a friend's living room at a crowded party. Very nice staff, poor selection of non-alcoholic cocktails (3 citrusy drinks and that's it).
N. J.
Always awesome cocktails, great service with knowledgeable and helpful waiters. Lovely vibe/atmosphere.
N. H.
Walked in of the street and got a table no problem. Overpriced drinks £44 for 3 cocktails and a beer. One of the cocktails was the size of a shot! Never again!
L.
Great cocktails and brilliant staff!
S. B.
This is such an amazing bar. I've been coming here for years and it's never let me down. It never feels old, always changing but always classic.
A. P.
Hands down one of the best cocktail bars in London an unassuming & low key location, a cozy & intimate setting, wonderful cocktails and great staff
M. S.
It's good. Cocktails are indeed nice. Service is great. But there's something missing. Maybe it's not really comfortable.
H. S.
Cool little cocktail bar that feels a little like a speakeasy. From the outside you wouldn't tell it's a bar and you might need a reservation.
M. F.
Great place, amazing cocktails... piano nights on Thursday.
My favourite bar in London!
B. d. d.

Go when it's quiet and the staff have time, it gets a bit overrun. Excellent cocktails though.
D. W.
The cocktails here are fantastic, and the servers know and can recommend drinks like they've studied for a test.
J.
Lovely cocktails mixed up by lab-coated gents. Tiny place, but they ensure everyone inside has a seat.

Overpriced cocktails, I expected higher quality for the price and fame of this place; service is attentive but the place is often overcrowded.
G. D. M.
Delicious cocktails and super cosy atmosphere. Perfect for a catch up with an old friend.

S. T.
I do love their sophisticated cocktails and classy staff, but wish the seating was less cramped and uncomfortable. The nibbles are a bit expensive for what they are...
M.
Great service but cocktails should be more creative comparing to the price
A. J.
Great live music, good drinks and bustling atmosphere. Slightly slow service.
E. S.
Cocktails are exceptional as should be expected from one of Tony Conigliaro’s bars.

Small, a little loud, but the atmosphere is amazing and the drinks are out of this world.

Book a table before you go! But you might be lucky and they seat you on their stairs. Really cosy place off the High Street
