I have just been at their first Christmas Party of the Year. Wow what an absolutely stunning venue. Lizzie was fantastic, the bar staff amazing. Every member of staff were so pleasant and professional. The food was superb, a huge buffet. Dont hesitate to go there. Perfect venue for an event or party.

Good Covid safe rules. Masks to be worn when not seated and tables spread out to keep good separation. All ordering is done via the Young's app. Only downside was that my friend and I ordered on our own phones. Even though we hit order at the same time, my food arrived 10 mins after my friends. So I would say to just order on one phone and sort out the money later. The food was delicious. Staff were friendly and professional.

Friendly staff, good food and drink, amazing views. Tables are sanitised before you're taken to your table, orders and payments are done via an app, your drinks and meals are brought to your table. Very safe and sanitary.

I wasn't sure what to expect about the food but it was delicious, best pub fish and chips I've had in a while. Really well seasoned and a good portion, everyone else in my group loved their food. Good value food and drink considering the excellent location and views. Service was very quick, efficient and friendly from the lovely staff. They even fulfilled my booking request of putting us outside and undercover which was very considerate. Would definitely go back.

Stunning local pub in Putney! Friendly and great service, amazing food and drinks, fantastic atmosphere both inside and out on the terrace. My favourite place to hang out with mates for drinks or to have a romantic dine out with my partner (or to say hi to fluffy Zeus!). Great vegan options available too!

Had the fish and chips. Hard to go wrong with a classic. Very generous peice of fish and plenty of chips. We had a gluten sensitive person with us and they had a gluten free rye bread available. I hear the gluten free rye bread burger is great for those with gluten allergies. The service was spot on. Several beers were out but the staff were apologetic and provided several recommendations as worthy replacements.

Absolutely lovely lovely place ! All the staff are so friendly and helpful and so accommodating to your needs, they always put the customer first. The food is extremely good quality and they give you generous portion sizes which is great too. The views are absolutely incredible, as you have a view of the river whilst eating dinner. Would 100% recommend this to anyone because it really is a dream place and now one of my favourite places to go.

Great location, very well frequented by a high-end clientele. The staff is also fantastic and strive to make the most of a good service. However, for those who are meat-loving the bif is not a good option, it is hard. I asked well past, was bleeding, looked very alive! Lol, i'm sorry. The wine seemed to have water inside, it really had no flavor.

Just had a lovely meal here but forgot to leave our tip despite bringing cash especially! so thought I'd leave my first Google review to assuage the guilt after realising. My roast beef was fantastic and a very generous portion. The potatoes in particular were excellent. My boyfriend had the sea bass which was also very tasty with very well cooked fish. Excellent service and fantastic view of the river, and we'll look forward to returning in the new year!

The main waitress was lovely the only minor issue was that a different waitress bought our main meal out and hadn't checked we had finished our starter and didn't apologise or smile or say anything but the names of the main dishes. Thankfully we had nearly finished. Such a shame on what was an otherwise lovely evening.

Just when you think this place can’t get any better you walk in and they’re giving away fantastic cupcakes to celebrate Young’s 189th birthday. This is a great pub. Brilliant team led by a brilliant boss. Great service. Great drinks. Very dog friendly. We love it.

Service was good and the view onto the river was satisfactory; however the food itself was just okay. A few tweaks and it would definitely be a 4*. Went for their Sunday roast and ordered the beef. The portion sizing wasn't the largest, and there was a lot of inconsistency in the slices that I was given (some were very well cooked, whilst other bits were very red). Personal preference, but potentially have the gravy on the side as it slightly drowned out the cheesy broccoli. Ordered ice cream too - vanilla was not very vanilla and just not nice at all, although chocolate flavour was tasty.

Visited Tuesday afternoon and what a great time we had! We were seated outdoors by a very polite member of staff and then were served by Simon which was super friendly and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Beautiful location with a terrace overlooking river Thames, which provides stunning views, especially at the sunset, friendly staff, nice food. Slightly overpriced for a pub though, with a pint of ale costing over £6, and a bit awkward that beibg served at the table you're still asked to pay straight away, but probably this is for a reason. Overall, very nice place.

Where do I start, I cannot thank Usha and her team (and Zeus) enough for everything they did for our reception which was held on the top floor. Our day was perfect thanks to you and all the effort you guys put in. Food was exceptional, service was unbelievable. All of our guests said the same thing, devoured the party boards and the canapés. The bar staff were friendly and attentive and credit to you. We have stayed and eaten each time we have visited on the run up to our big day and we are slowly working our way through the menu, fish and chips is delicious. We booked the mezzanine level of the boathouse for a party with our friends to celebrate our wedding (which had been an intimate family event and had occurred earlier in the week). The space is beautiful and the staff, in particular the bar manager, were absolutely fantastic. The space comes without cost, it just needs a minimum spend (which is very reasonable). We would highly recommend the boat house for private events.

Really beautiful view from the terrace and even the interior of this pub is beautiful (except toilets). The staff is very friendly, food was exceptionally good (you know, pub) and portions are quite big, but a bit overpriced. Drinks are classic pub's drinks so you will find something for you, but do not expect anything special.

Went there for Xmas party. The dinner was very overpriced for what it was (3 course meal for £60!!! - with a prosecco glass). The portions were very small, the salmon starter looked like it just got out of a Tesco pack. Quite disappointing food wise. However the space is fairly good, they cleared all tables after the meal to have dance party. And we didnt really took advantage of the riverfront view as it was December and freezing. Perhaps just a cool place to enjoy a drink over summer.

What a great place. Had the pleasure of having my wedding reception here and it really was everything we could have hoped for. Starting off with The team, Usha and everyone were incredibly helpful, hard working and great fun! The food was fantastic - even providing food for 100 the standards didn’t slip, great canopies, great platters and took all of our dietary requirements in their stride. The setting is lovely looking out onto Putney Bridge and the river. Me and the wife have been there half a dozen times now to talk to usha about the big day, she’s always been helpful and we have always stayed for food and drinks which are great. Would 100% recommend either for an event or for lunch or just a few pints if you’re in the area. Thanks boathouse team! X

We wanted to dine on the balcony on the top floor, but when we got there, a member of the staff told us they were going to close that area, which was a bit disappointing. We had to sit downstairs where the view wasn't that great. I had fish & chips, which was very well cooked, along with a refreshing pint of Guiness.

The decor is awesome, location is amazing and there is a wide range of selection of drinks. Unfortunately the staff came across as uninterested and rude. Using poor lines with the females in our party leaving them feeling uncomfortable and downright ignoring the guys who had been waiting at the bar for some time to be served while the bar staff seem to be occupied serving every girl that came up to the bar in some seedy attempt to curry favour with the opposite sex. Shame really as apart from the prices which were high but to be expected in London on the Thames, it could have been a 4/5 star review but the lads behind the bar really did lower the tone and leave a bitter taste in the mouth for all who had to deal with them. Edit - Sorry almost forgot the male toilets were flooded with about an inch and a half of water. Both cubicles were closed. Also a negative.

A well laid out pub with decent food. A touch on the expensive side, as there is a very nice Weatherspoons next door, which offers a similar environment but at a lighter cost. I have attended varied functions at this venue and I haven't left disappointed. They have a clean and well presented outside space looking out onto the Thames.

Ate here 3 years ago on two occasions and both times were excellent...in reference to the upstairs restaurant which is the same kitchen as the pub downstairs. Came back 6 months ago and it was one of the worst meals had in awhile. My partner had the scallops with what can only be described as a coffee-flavoured jelly. She could not eat it...and she loves both scallops and coffee! The combination is actually worse than it sounds. It just doesn’t go. The chef thinks he is Blumenthal. I had the pan-fried sole which was not cooked properly and was soaked in some sickly cream sauce. Again, I could not eat it. The combination just didn’t work. When we told the waiter he offered us something else but by then we had lost our appetite. We decided to share some type of waned cheese...an English “Camembert” with a type of “jam”. It was also disgusting but we ate some of it with copious quantities of bread to “wash” the taste out of our mouth. The waiter was polite and apologised and then explained that they had a new chef. They politely didn’t charge us for anything...which was fair. They then took our e-mail addresses to invite us to a new “tasting” menu evening as an opportunity to give feedback. Neither of us have ever received any contact. The pub/restaurant benefits from being adjacent to the Thames in a nice little square. The building and decor are actually quite nice and welcoming. The restaurant holds pride of place with its outdoor veranda and great views overlooking the square and the Thames...really nice in the summer. It’s a shame they are not putting much effort into the food otherwise this could be an amazing experience. They should still to the classics and do them really well instead of experimenting with ridiculous combinations poorly executed.

Sterling work by the only one bar staff working when visited last week. She did brilliantly to keep the customers calm and serve them in an orderly manner. With no beers on tap and only a couple lagers available on tap to choose from, she was the difference between staying or going to the pub opposite. Sorry I didn't remember her name. Hopefully, by the time of my next visit, all the beers will be available and more than one bar staff working.

The price point is pretty high for Putney pubs, especially when compared to other Young's pubs in the area, I think intentionally. The food is really very good for pub food. Highly recommended for the atmosphere and food.

Initially though that this location would provide a bit better of a view of the river but it was a distance back to see anything if you were sitting outside. Given that it was a nice day I would assume that the outside bench seating would have cushions, but they did not and you ended up sitting below the table.

Ordered muelled wine and they gave it full of sugar.. it was the last two cups so I guess it wasn't mixed properly and the sugar was at the bottom. However, I think it's not ok to serve this to customers. Three stars since environment is nice and they gave a refund for the wine (we returned it since it was way too sweet). For £7/cup you would expect smth better...

The beer was a bit on the pricey side, but the view (if the weather is good) is well and truly worth it. Located on the banks of The Thames, The Boathouse is an ideal local pub for after work drinks in Putney. With indoor and outdoor seating, cosy corners and bar stools placed around it lends itself to a variety of different sized groups of friends wanting to have a good time. Overall a pretty good place for a Friday night drink!

This is an iconic pub situated on Putney Wharf right beside the Thames river. They serve a select of fine ales, beers, wines and good food. They also have an upstairs area and balcony. The Boathouse is a really wonderful place to be (especially in summer).

Location, location, location. The Boathouse overlooks the Thames and there are few better places to be in Putney on those balmy summer nights. It's split over several floors and as you'd expect from a Young's in this neck of the woods the crowd is young(ish) and professional(ish), the beer is spot on and the food is a safe bet. A few years ago a barmaid did try to convince me that bitter should be completely flat with zero head. Luckily her superior knew better (or should that be 'knew bitter'?) but it obviously left a lasting impression. Memorable.
