The Guinness was thin headed and watery. And strangely they were filling half pints straight up as if it was lager, rather than letting it settle and topping it up the way Guinness should be poured. That could be improved upon. On the plus side the food was tasty and the staff were friendly.

We had a lovely late lunch here on a Saturday before going to the cinema. Really delicious food. An event going on in their function room at the time so kitchen staff extremely busy but in spite of that our food came within usually anticipated time frame. Lovely relaxing place to catch up with friends. Nice ambience and decor. Would highly recommend.

A lovely large pub plus a Dutch beer bar upstairs, both of which boatst a great range of craft beers on tap and in cans. Additionally, Eric and his amazing team are serving up a nice range of wines, long drinks and the usual range of good pub food plus some Dutch specialties. You can also pick from a set of board games, and sit in on the comedy club or participate in the pub quiz on selected days.

Came yesterday with a friend and had the best meal. We aimed for a vegetarian burger and we were right, so delicious. It was literally one of the best burger i ‘ve ever had. Very Juicy very yummy and crispy. Nice selection of craft beers. The staff are very friendly. One thing the service was very very slow and it wasn’t even that busy on Wednesday night!! Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

We came for casual early drinks and dinner, not expecting any more than an ordinary London pub but the welcome and friendly service we received was lovely. Unusual and quite delicious draught beers, nice wines. Then we were invited to an outside table we had requested. We had home made pie which certainly tasted award winning and belly pork which was outstanding. Attentive friendly service for our two hour visit. What more can these folks do to entice us back? Very dog friendly too! Recommended.

I think this place is wonderful, staff are brilliant and helpful. Everyone seems to be enjoying their time here. Also its a Dutch pub in London! Brother lives in Phillipsville (Eindhoven). An almost endless choice of beer and other brews to choose from. Happy! A lovely cavernous pub with plenty on nooks and crannies to choose from. Upstairs is the "Proeflocal Rembrandt" a great space with plenty of tables and a bar. Here tribute is paid to the Dutch picnic party on the Medway, during the second Dutch-Anglo War 1667 when they thrashed the British Navy at Chatham. All great fun! Do pay a visit!

Went here on a Wednesday evening with my two teenage kids for a meal & drink. The fish & chips were truly excellent and my daughter’s sea bass was cooked to perfection. Lovely spacious bar downstairs with an impressive range of beers. Would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the condition of the gents toilets. An empty beer glass was sitting on the window cill, the wall mounted soap dispenser was broken, the replacement soap was watered down so as to be useless and the paint on the door was worn right through & looked very shabby & unhygienic. Will return when I next visit my son in the hope of the toilets having had a bit of a makeover. Update 11 months later...... We returned here for a meal as a group of six. The food was great & staff friendly. However - how can the toilets continue in their current state, despite the owner reviewing publicly almost a year ago that they were due for an upgrade. To make matters worse - my wife reported no soap in the ladies, to be met with the reply “yes - we know”. So - judge for yourselves from these photos I took My own view is that they should be so embarrassed they’d do something about it. Everything else was 5/5.

Great quiz, but poor service on the food. Person who ordered first and their meal came at the same time as their starter 10 minutes after those of us who'd ordered after them. Good was good when it did come.

In A Nutshell: -The Bolton was recommended to us by our Uber driver. -We asked him where we could get the best fish & chips. -This restaurant has been open since 1892. -You can sit inside or outside. -We sat inside, which is very spacious w/ warm, weathered tables. -They featured "West Coast IPAs", which I thought was awesome (as many of you already know). -If you have a small group of four, I recommend you order "The Whole Hog" which consists of warmed pulled pork pie, handmade scotch eggs, pork crackling sticks, sticky mustard & honey glazed Cherry -The Scotch Eggs really stood out! -The fish & chips were very good too, sooooo much better than fish & chips in New Zealand b/c they had more fish vs. batter. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe & food at The Bolton, it's no wonder why they've been open for so long.

Local pub, usually pretty lively. On the way to Stamford Bridge and quite busy on football days. Great selection of beers and they also have some ciders on draft. Snacks are good. Great beer selection downstairs in the regular pub. A more exotic mix of beers from north western Europe upstairs. Visited during the first wave of the lockdown rules being relaxed. Had NYE here and absolutely loved it. Great crowd and beer selection. I prefer craft to standard and the owner not only provides his knowledge to his guests but his staff are very well informed and happy to help too. Good music and large space. The upstairs Dutch bar has really unique craft finds as well that I would have never been introduced to anywhere else in London in my opinion.

Came here for my birthday in late January and was extremely impressed. The staff were attentive and friendly despite dealing with a large group of us. The decor and atmosphere is excellent in this place, plus there's a range of Trappist beers. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice pint with a rustic and romantic surroundings. Really good pub! I didn't expect to be this big on the inside. It's clearly a local pub for the Dutch community in the area. Tried the handmade salmon fishcakes. They were delicious together with a fresh draft of beer!

Great range of craft beers at reasonable prices (for london) at around £5.50-6.50. Lots of international craft beers from Netherlands (which I to be expected since its a Dutch bar) Germany and Belgium as well as British. Dropping a star only for the service of the doormen. 1st night we arrived around 23:15 to be told "were closed" I pointed out the website shows closing time is midnight, then was told I need the NHS covid app to sign if I wanted to come in. At 23:45 the doorman proceeded to come around shouting at the paying customers to drink up......not very customer friendly (bar staff however were excellent allowing you to try a taster of the beers before buying) 2nd night a different doorman....he didn't say it was closed, but wasn't welcoming, rudely saying were closing soon (at 23:00) Amazingly bad welcome, you would think after the last 18 months pubs would be bending over backwards to welcome customers, and maybe stay open longer if customer wanted to stay longer (although the at may not be possible to licencing restrictions) Again, bar staff were great, very welcoming and very helpful

This pub is dog friendly and has a selection of different types of seating so you can find a comfortable place to enjoy the wide range of beers. We visited the Dutch bar upstairs where we had a cherry beer, which was sharp and fruity and a rich strong porter. Delicious! I would be happy to work my way through their beer menu! Not too noisy, so you can carry on a conversation, but enough for a pleasant ambiance.

I ate fish and chips with my daughters of 14 and 11 at this pub. This is a family friendly place, the personnel gave us good advice over how many portions to order and the service was fast. The friendly and lively atmosphere makes up for a nice place to visit, even if you are not drinking.

Great pub! Came in with a group of friends and we found the perfect table for the 8 of us. Food was really good, I recommend the fish pie and the roasted chicken! A really good selection of drinks downstairs but the upstairs bar was a whole new level. 105 different special beers! Very glad that I didn't had to drive home that night.. Will be back for sure!

Went here with friends a few weeks ago. This is without doubt the pub you need to visit when you are in London and crave a craft beer at reasonable prices accompanied by proper pub food. They have almost 200 craft beers and ales on their drinks menu. Well, I may be exaggerating a bit, but at least 150. I did not count them! The food is also excellent. The Fish Pie, Roast Chicken and Fish and Chips are to die for.

Friendly bar staff, nice atmosphere and good beer but there is something odd about the Bolton... upstairs there is another seemingly unconnected Dutch bar, there is little indication that it's up there (I only found it when I went to the gents). Anyway a surprisingly nice spot for a drink and a bite to eat near earls court, worth stopping in if you are in the area.

No electronic payment available so the barkeep told me to go find an ATM. After googling and walking for 15 mins and finding no ATM where google said it should have been, i returned to find out that upstairs there was a wireless payment device. I am not easily annoyed but this did the trick flawlessly. Dissapointing🤔

Ordered food. My husbands pie was delicious. Well presented tasty and loads of gravy. My rare steak arrived medium to well. When I told the guy behind the bar about it got a cool response like I'd asked for one of his kidneys! Steak was replaced and cooked beautifully. Your food is great but please work on your customer service.

This place deserves more credit! It's lovely!! The owner is a great and passionate person, and it shows in the details in this pub. Everything is clean and tidy. Upstairs is the unique Dutch bar with a crazy selection of Dutch beers (including favourites from my hometown Haarlem: Uiltje 🦉 and Jopen beer) and best of all you get REAL Dutch snacks here: kaassoufflé and bitterballen (imported, the real deal) and more like ham and pea soup. If you've been for a stroll in the beautiful Brompton cemetery nearby, make a pitstop at this place.

My rating is a little ungenerous, because there's nothing wrong with the pub. I found the fish and chips very average and the beer selection meh. Hard to find a good old fashioned pint of bitter in London these days, too much focus on craft beers. Also, we went on trivia night which is noisy and irritating if you are not playing.

Hidden upstairs at The Bolton is a gem. A whole other pub with awesome Dutch and Belgian beers, and proper Dutch beer snacks, including bitterballen and cheese souffles. Great for a Saturday afternoon.

This pub is a traditional British pub, with better than average (read: excellent) pub food, attentive staff and a more than decent selection of (craft) beers, gins and whatever you want. A good mix of locals, their mates and tourists. A big bonus for people who crave craft beer and Dutch snacks (Bitterballen!) is the first floor where you will find "Proeflokaal Rembrandt", named after the famous Dutch painter. Every Monday there is a Pub Quiz and you can enjoy Stand-Up Comedy every other week on Friday (free entrance).

The pub downstairs is good but where you really should go is the Proeflokaal Rembrandt upstairs. You can get free samples of the beers served so you can choose your drink. Many excellent choices available. The service is really good. Three and a half stars for downstairs, five for upstairs.

A nice pub with a decent selection of ales and some good spirits. Prices are standard for the area, in that it's not cheap but nice atmosphere and crowd. As it's not too far from where I work will undoubtedly be visiting it again.

Upon entering the pub I was greeted by a very unusual sensation under my feet, I quickly realised the establishment had been transformed into a beach complete with inflatible toys and staff wearing brightly coloured shirts. I certainly don't envy the person that has to clean up all the sand. Anyway I wasn't here for the beach so I promptly made my way upstairs to the main attraction. Proeflokaal Rembrandt is an upstairs bar that's open three days a week and only sells dutch beer. A striking Night watch painting from Rembrandt adorns the back bar and the interior is unique , from the arrangement of Delft Blue tiles in one corner to another large painting of the Dutch Admiral De Ruyter on the Medway. Run by beer stalwart Eric Bestebreur, an enigmatic character who gleefully talked me through the history of a Chinese tulip vase that proudly sits on the window sill. I learnt more about Dutch history in the couple of hours I was there than I have in my entire lifetime. On to the beers of which they have many, I opted for an IPA from Haarlem based brewery Het Uiltje that had been brewed with a champagne yeast, light in colour and body with a dry and fruity finish. Very nice indeed. From the classic selection of Le Trappe beers right through to the De Molen barrel aged imperial Stouts the bar carries a diverse selection of Dutch craft beers that are more than worthy of your time. So there you have it, London's finest Dutch bar. Go and see Eric and finish on Le Trappe Quadruple, you'll thank me afterwards. Proost

Go here. A double-decker of joy. Downstairs a wonderful pub with a HUGE range of draught and bottled beer in a cozy dark wood setting. Upstairs, in the weekend a Dutch proeflokaal with another HUGE range of beers in an awesomely welcoming Amsterdam pub atmosphere. Their deep fried snacks (we had bitterballen and kaas souffles) rock and are less than £6! Why are you not here!?

I suspect this place has been redone recently. Google Maps still claims it's an O'Neills chain pub, but I didn't get that vibe at all. We came for a quiet drink on a weekday night and I was happy with their selection of beers. They were showing the football if that's your thing, but we were able to find a quiet corner away from it.

My crew was staying nearby, just up the block, and I stopped in every chance I could get - good beer, food and atmosphere. My only complaint is for some reason, pubs in London close at 11PM - in the USA they generally close at 2AM.
