Reviews of The Boot
V. R.
Looks a bit of a dive from the outside, we were unsure whether to bother but had seen good reviews on here so went in. Inside was totally different. Nice pub feel, and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Don't be put off.
D. S.
I've only been here once before and the lovely barmaid Kat remembered me and is super kind, friendly, kind and efficient. Come here. It's got loads of history and it's well worth it.

Great Sunday roast dinner - huge portion, so much veg/meat and the wines were lovely. Great atmosphere and staff. Looking forward to going again!
E. M.
There's a plethora of decent boozers around this area, but this is one of my favourite, regular haunts. If you like a homely Irish pub, that always has a good atmosphere, and is nice to be in even when full, then it's hard to beat. Great staff, good bar, proper pub vibe, what's not to like?
C. D. R.
Lovely place to stop for a drink and staff are warm and friendly,a very welcoming pub
S. S.
A proper old fashioned Irish pub, hidden away just a stone’s throw from King’s Cross Station in the heart of London. Friendly service, quality music and reasonable prices. Like all proper pubs they have both a pool table and a dart board.
This is exactly the kind of classic independent pub we are losing across zone 1 London and really needs our support, so drop by and grab a pint.
If you found my review or photos helpful, or even just if you want to support this pub, give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 Thanks!
T. R.
A real neighbourhood pub with a special atmosphere and a pink hometrainer in the ladies restroom-lobby. The Name refers to Charles Dickens ( See photos ) Go there. Its cool.
P. H.
Great Friendly bar Staff. REALLY good Sunday Dinner. 100% recommended.
T. P.
Really nice local pub and the landlady was extremely welcoming
J. S.
Nice pub, friendly staff, darts and pool table available, couple of TVs with sports on
A. H.
Nice traditional style pub off the tourist trail very welcoming.
A. N.
Tucked away but good customer service, seating area and prices are great! Looking forward to the next visit

My best friends recently moved in around the corner from here and one night we decided to go on a mini impromptu pub crawl around three or four pubs in the neighborhood. Naturally, we read google reviews first (there's a really cute one about a couple's first date, go read it!) and planned out route. My friend had a broken foot at the time and had to wear a boot for it and after having a good laugh about that coincidence, we decided to end our adventure at The Boot and I'm so glad we did. It was far and away the best pub in the area (for what we wanted that night, which was just a pint and a chat, they don't do food as far as I know). It was big enough that we had a table, it didn't have weird smells, and it was heavily populated but not over crowded even at 10:30 on a Friday. It feels like the perfect local, almost a secret gem. There's stuff all over the walls, it looks like they cleaned out granny's attic and tacked everything to the walls, in the most endearing way possible. There's a working juke box, a pool table, sofas, and local beers (in limited daily quantities). Every time I've been in, every single person has been so friendly, both staff and clientele (a rarity among the inebriated). By far, my favourite thing about The Boot is the restrooms. I know that sounds weird, but it's not just because they're clean and have a hilariously well equipped vending machine, but the ladies' room has a bright pink exercise bike. For no apparent reason (maybe so you have something to do while you queue?) We spent weeks wondering what could be in the Men's, it had to be something just as strange but completely unrelated. We hoped it was a photo booth or a telephone box. But alas, after sending several people in to check, we have been forced to accept that there is no interesting object in the men's room, and while this is heartbreaking, it only heightens the oddity of the pink exercise bike. All in all, great pub, if you need a pint, it's the place to go.
A. E.
Classic pub but super welcoming
H. T.
Really good old London pub staff very friendly, good pint of Guinness and a decent selection of beers good atmosphere. Near King Cross Station, well worth a visit.

❤️ This Kings Cross pub ticks all the boxes for me with its great atmosphere, great beer, great service and that local pub feel. The walls are covered in Gaelic football and Hurling shirts with Irish flag bunting behind the bar. There is plenty of the black stuff flowing in this Irish boozer and there is some hearty pub grub favourites available if your hungry. The clientele is mixed, from lads in high viz playing pool to office workers sitting around a table reflecting on a day at the office. The juke box is well used which adds to the feel of the place. Cracking pub this and a good shout to visit St Patrick’s day ☘️
📊 Information correct on visiting 29/09/17

Went on a Sunday and had a lovely roast dinner washed down with a few Abbot ales. Staff were excellent as well. We will be back. Best to book otherwise you may be unlucky.
g. b.
Brilliant pub with staff to match. A proper boozer! Not many left.
K. R.
Cozy pub hidden away from busy Kings Cross. Bonus is the pool table!
J. D.
Lovely staff, clean toilets and tidy. Decor and furniture is a bit dated but have a few tables outside which are perfect for an afternoon drink in the sun! They could do with some cushions/ more plants outside to give it that but extra! 👍🏻
S.
Cracking pub, great staff are very reasonable priced
L. B.
Friendly landlord, traditional pub, five star pint of Guinness
S. D.
Great pub , as a pub should be not all poncy. Good prices. Good food.
Would have given 5 stars but the music (as in most places) is a tad too LOUD , why do they have to try and deafen people ! by the time I left I was hoarse.
Non the less very enjoyable visit.
S.
Love this pub! It's got that rare (in London) ability to feel like a village pub, great community and really great staff. And they love dogs so they get 5 stars for that alone! Plus good range of beers and everything else, quriky, charming decor. Couldn't rate it higher--go here if you want an authentic London pub experience.
S. s.
Lovely place to sniff some coke I mean sip some coke ,the staff love a dabble also
B. P.
The Boot is how pubs used to be ,very welcoming very friendly a place you can walk into on your own and feel your one of the gang straight away staff are happy to include everyone.
In The Boot you really can make new friends and a great place to meet old ones. One of my top five pubs in London.
i. c.
nice traditional pub with great ambience
N. H.
My wife and I enjoyed our quiet drinks together. Was fairly quiet but we liked that. Landlady spoke to us just as we was about to leave and was warm and friendly towards us. Would definitely recommend for a drink. Cheapest place we tried all day. Would like to sample some food if we get the chance. Also music playing in the background not to loud so you can enjoy a conversation.
R. G.
Great pub Good service 👍 👌
A. F.
This is a great local pub; don't be fooled by the somewhat shabby entrance. It's an old fashioned looking place, but popular with students and has a friendly, vibrant feel. The food is quite good, with vegetarian options as specials, and the drinks are reasonably priced for London.
A. S.
Good atmosphere and broad selection of drinks. No food while we were there unfortunately. Also has a darts board (free) and a pool table (paid, maybe £1 or 50p) which is an added benefit
T. H.
This pub is a real gem slightly hidden away in Cromer Street, opposite Kings Cross Station. I found the best Sunday roast today that I have had in a pub for a long time and there was a vast choice of beers. The young lady called Michelle serving behind the bar was very efficient and polite. I will definitely be returning soon.
B. P.
When I first walked in, I straight away felt this pub was exactly the kind of classic and independent kind of pub we are constantly losing across London particularly in Zone one as the demand for eating place continue to rise and traditional pubs increasingly being converted into more of a restaurant than pubs. So I think we really needs to support support this one, so drop by and grab a pint.
J. C.
Found this lovely old pub tucked away from the main roads. A very substantial Sunday roast of Pork, beef, lamb and lamb shank were on offer. The beef and lamb shank were perfect and we all had clean plates.
A. D. S.
Pleasant little pub about a 5 minute walk from Euston station. It's sort of off the main road so don't fall for the trap of seeing the big old O'Neill's and thinking this must be it Irish pub wise. Keep walking to the boot and you'll find something a bit cozier but still with all the staples you'll need. Got a comfy sofa corner that almost looks like sometimes antique shop what with all the old picture frames. They were showing the FA cup final when I went for a quick drink so would assume it might be a good spot to catch the sport without being smothered somewhere else.
B. O.
A spit and sawdust pub away with lovely barmaids ready to serve you a top notch creamy pint of Guinness.
Pool table, two big screens showing Sky and BT Sport, Juke Box and big tables if you're coming as a group.
The pub benefits from being away from the main drag, so quick and easy to get served.
N. R.
Ideal spot if you want to avoid the airs and graces of the area. Friendly service, decent tunes and reasonable prices
D. G.
Mentioned in Dickens' book "Barnaby Rudge" - so, you know its been around a while. Not quite "spit and sawdust" but, old & not worried about appearances. I stress:- that doesn't mean dirty or unhygienic. Just a place that is more about the people, drink and food. Less about "aesthetics" and "appearance of quality".
Not for everyone i grant. But, prices are reasonable, staff are friendly and (what i call "granddad's chairs") wooden arm chairs are comfortable.
Only downside (for me) is the Friday "end of business" crowd seem to have found this watering hole and consequently between 5 and 7 it becomes noisy and the late 70's/ early 80's music volume increases.
I don't have a problem with music choice, simply a medical issue with loudness due to an accident in a recording studio back in the 70's.
N. D.
Love this old style pub that has a really interesting history all the way back to 1700s and is mentioned in Dickens Barnaby Rudge. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a good simple menu of the usual pub favorites and sunday roasts
J. M.
Great traditional old Irish pub, with sports, pool table and darts. Decent jukebox too. Pint costs about £4.50 which is good for the area.
B. M.
Hideaway pub with history seeping from the walls. Go see for yourself. Makes for a good pub crawl of a number of pubs within a click of Kings Cross. I was there in the evening. Has potential for a lunchtime conflab. Can be a bit hard to find but worth persevering. Makes it more of a hideaway meeting point.
C. D.
One of zone ones best pubs.an authentic Camden boozer.good staff, good beer clean and close to both euston and kings x/st pancras wont find a better pub for a mile in either direction👍
M. S.
It felt like stepping back into the 1970s in the best possible way :). Friendly service, but sadly their one on-tap ale was out, following a couple of recent parties. The IPA was nice enough, the atmosphere warm, and the seats down the side wall were comfy.
J. L.
Great pub with mixed clientele and proper old school boozer atmosphere. Would recommend for an after work pint.
A. W.
What a great pub. Good prices (£4.30 for a Stella), friendly barman, pool table, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
r. s.
I loved this place so much in my time in London in 2009 that i actually spend 20 minutes trying to find it on google maps because i could not remember the name for the life of me. This was one of the local pubs that really felt local when i was there and always had the best food for pretty decent prices. The staff was always very friendly and this will be my first stop if i can ever find my way back to London.
R. L.
Great Pub , loads of character and drinks are not expensive , I drank bottles of Real Ale and they were lovely - they also have 1 real ale pump on too , great atmosphere and the Best thing is the Food . I had a Roast Dinner - Pork, with amazing veg and gravy to die for ,another time I had the Boot Burger which was also great , the staff pay a lot of attention to the customer and its also close to Euston /Kings Cross if on a commute
S. K.
Love going here for a couple after uni. Kewl staff, great music, tasty beers and fun for pool. Regular nice wee pub without frills.
S.
Awesome food, cheap and great service. Had to come here a second time since it was so nice. Unfortunately they do not serve dinner Fridays and Saturdays so we could not go there a third time before we went home, but we are definitely going back here if we visit London again.
J. Y.
Just seen on a BBC documentary about the late hysterically funny Kenneth Williams..havent laughed so much for years..He lived opposite I think when a child...Piano was dragged across road for hilarious sing songs at this lovely family gathering pub..We will go to the pub on a trip to London just to imagine and feel the vibes that surely will always remain..Please raise awareness and add the past history which will be of so much interest to ..now..and in the future...such emotions ..Will visit soon James Young
J. S.
Hipster wannabes take note. THIS is how pubs should be run... It was a joy to watch the landlady serve a busy pub effortlessly on a Saturday night. Marge Proctor - eat you heart out.

R. J.
Friendly pub with decent beer selection, at decent prices, a stone's throw from Kings Cross but still with a strong truly local vibe and clientele. What's the not to like?
M. B.
Not a bad pub, had a pool table, a little set back from King's Cross so is a little quieter.
D. S.
Grumpy barmaid
R. B.
Good beer and atmosphere. If you're looking for an independent authentic pub near King's Cross you could do a lot worse than go here.

(Translated) A small, unpretentious bar, located in a very quiet street in the evening, particularly nice for playing a game of darts, a stone's throw from St Pancras station. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. You can also play billiards.
(Original)
Un petit bar sans prétention, situé dans une rue tres calme le soir, sympathique notamment pour faire une partie de fléchettes à 2 pas de la gare st pancras. Le service fut très amical et l'ambiance détendue. On peut également jouer au billard.

(Translated) Super great place! My first experience with beer in London, and it was really worth it. I tried Hop house on the recommendation of the lady who attends the bar and it was very good. The atmosphere is very comfortable, although you can not smoke inside, I give 10/10 without a doubt.

(Translated) Local pub between King's Cross and Bloomsbury. Cozy, good beer and music and, perhaps the best, No tourists!
(Original)
Local pub entre King's Cross y Bloomsbury. Acogedor, buena cerveza y música y, acaso lo mejor, ¡Sin turistas!
V. N. (.
(Translated) Good beer, good atmosphere. Very good music according to the parishioner who chooses it, also, hopefully the whole bar starts singing and being from Valencia (where that does not happen even by mistake) because it is cool. In addition, with all the Brexit and how badly the Spaniards are treated, being the only ones in the place, they treated us wonderfully every time we went. Of course, British food hours, so watch out for lunch or dinner.

Buena cerveza, buen ambiente.
