Reviews of The Britannia - SMOK'D
P. S.
The Britannia has a nice atmosphere with a tropical-garden style outdoor seating area. It is a bit quieter than a place right on a busier road, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Prices per head is a London high, expect a pint to set you back 6.5 and the food options, though great tasting, to be a pricy for the portion size too.
Overall an enjoyable experience for an occasional visit

Lovely pub, slightly off the beaten path, with a good selection of innovative (and varied) lagers/beers as well as some hearty food as and when needed. Lovely whisky selection is a bonus as well! It's a great spot in the summer for afternoon sun and a real gem in the winter for a quiter pint away from the bustle of London Bridge/Bermondsey St. The staff are great and both friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Cute little Pub not far away from London Bridge, amazing food and buzzing atmosphere, the service was fantastic. A great selection for the whiskey lovers. Thank you so much Kenny for looking after us,you and your team are the best. We will be back in the new year.
K. L.
Oh my goodness!! What a roast or as they call it a ‘sm-oast’. Perfectly slow smoked pork with succulent veg and the most amazing Yorkies. I will be back!!
T. O.
We came by this little gem and so please we did!
Great whisky selection and knowledgable staff the food was great!
I had the beef rib and it was great!
My husband had the burger of the month with lobster and it’s the first time I’ve not heard him talk for a while! ( too busy scoffing it down!)
With a glass or two or three off whisky! 😏
What a great evening we had.
Thank you for a great service.
We will be back.

Can’t believe I never knew this was here 😍 so Cozy small and intimate welcoming and looked fun.
Really nice burger and the rose must have been good because I am hung over x
T. D.
Pub is nice enough, and has some good, if intimate spaces, but the menu is severely restricted from their online menu, and it didn't seem like this was unusual
T. C.
Visited as a tourist from Canada - I asked the bartender what kinda specialities I should try and she recommended the cask ale. I also got a half cider half ale as well (locals will know what I mean ;)). Really great atmosphere.

Best whisky bar south of the river!

Went to this lovely pub for the 1st time after a long appointment at guys hospital, very nice pint of Amstel lager & very friendly bar man, definitely will be going back on my next visit to guys!
N. G.
Good beer selection, nice staff, food disappointing - wouldn't order food there again.
A. H.
Great pub, amazing food when the kitchen is available
J. l.
Good food quirky service the Italian guy was funny and the staff seemed really cool
Will be back.

Nice Pub with a cosy little beer garden. Only 4 stars though as there were no classic Real Ales.
P. B.
Chermain knew what I wanted before I even got to the bar. Mark know what I wanted after left. His table chat was on point and banter was perfected. Best mates forever. Xxx
R. A.

Went in expecting the Sunday Roast. They do not serve it at the moment. But, was told would be starting soon.
Had the Pork belly and Chicken. Was cooked to a good point. The Ribs were done pretty good as well.
j. p.
Backstreet hidden away nice atmosphere and whiskeys friendly staff.
A. A.
Had the Jacob's Ladder rib with slaw.
Delicious, the meat was tender and filling.
One thing though, the waiter insisted that the meat was smoked, and I am sure it was supposed to be, but I smoke a lot of meats, and I could not taste any wood smoke whatsoever, almost like it was slow roasted.

My first time here and it was a lovely experience. The Britannia is an old pub so the building is full of character. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent choice of draught and bottled beers as well as a great choice of wines and spirits. The seating area outside is really nice, just wish I'd visited in the summer so I could enjoy it. If you're in the area give it a visit.
M. C.
Great little pub this with good food great service. One of the few things I have missed since moving away from London. Looking forward to going back soon
A. W.
Great place, really good service. You have to try their"dirty fries"
P. M.
Nice relaxed pub good selection of beers, food good 5 minutes from London Bridge and the Shard
J. R.
Great whisky selection, but the service is a bit slow.
T. W.
Lovely little gem of a pub off the beaten track.
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This pub has a good whisky list to choose from and some interesting gins too.
A reasonable selection of beers to choose from as well. It's nice to find a good old traditional pub. Pop in, you will not be disappointed. Cheers.
M. T.
Great pub. Craft beer, wide selection of whiskies, good food. Go for the ribs
n. j.
Quirky Nice Atmosphere Interesting clean will be back.
M. R.
Great staff, great food and nice little put door area at the side l. Totally recommend
S. H.
Attractive pub that has just been refurbished. New chef and new menu. Visited at lunch time and had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. Great whisky collection too! Would definitely recommend.
L. G.
Place is amazing, staff are quality, couldn’t recommend better, the manager knows his alcohol!

Before you leave a review or read any other review, understand that the Brit is a pub, it's a local pub where locals drink. If your looking for a gentrified bar where they serve quails eggs and proseco, this place is not for you. They have a chef and a menu and above average food(not caviar on toast) and a ton of whiskeys. If you want good atmosphere and a good drink (until late at weekends) this is the spot 👍
M. W.
Some colleagues and I spent a pleasant evening tasting whisky here. There are a number of “flights” to try - each 5 samples of various whisky. There is a good selection to try. We also received very attentive service from the proprietors and the food was excellent as well.
A. S.
Great whisky selection. Service could be improved though.

I frequently walked past The Britannia because there are so many boozers in the location. It was around Christmas 2012 when most places were closed that I took the plunge. This is a lovely pub (not a bar) with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The Britannia quickly become my local haunt..
It stocks a huge selection of whiskey and the food is excellent. It's quite surprising when you first enter - its certainly not what I expected. The staff have a good knowledge of the whiskeys, are friendly and know their regular customers.
The staff are friendly, always chat (unless its busy) and appear happy in their work. I now live in another part of London and miss having a similar pub close to me.
V. S. M.
Had the Rib Combo there today. Pretty chill place, great food, good beers! Will be going there again for sure!
N. W.
This pub is sufficiently tucked away that it misses the majority of the foot fall from the post work office drinkers, which makes it a good spot for a meet up. Cask and keg ales selection isn't great but they usually have something, the whisk(e)y is incredibly well stocked though.
F. J.
Best whisky selection around!
Plus the food is just out of this world
T. K.
Huge selection of whiskeys. Gets absolutely rammed after 5pm so quite difficult to get comfortable and the pub get really warm. It's much quieter on weekends If you're prepared to stand with a group of friends it can be a decent experience.
T. W.
Ideal for whisky lovers & great a great place to finish things off with a night cap. This pubs main selling point is the 140 single malt scotch whiskys it has to offer - all listed on a chalkboard talking up a wall inside the pub.
This place isn't posh or snooty by any means, when I've been there its had a friendly relax atmosphere. I really enjoyed taking my time here, pick out my tot of scotch.
L. M.
Great place to grab a drink before going to Gatsby's Drugstore.
R. D.
Excellent whiskey selection and great food!
L. M.

Very cosy pub with very friendly staff. There's a large selection of drinks and sports is regularly shown. You'll always feel welcome here, would highly recommend!!
A. B.
Great gem of a bar with great real ale IPA and pale ales. No food prevents 5 stars but great spicy nuts! Support local pubs like this in London!

Great place to grab a drink before going to Gatsby's Drugstore.
A. L.
Great place to eat and relax, Lovely food would recommend to everyone
J. C.
Great place and decent food. The staff are lovely. Awesome whisky collection!
J. M.
Good no frills after work pub. Service not particularly great but feel this is more due to understaffing rather than the performance of the people behind the bar. Food was ok but certainly nothing to write home about
M. W.
Great pub. There's so many bland and uniteresting pubs in London these days. So good to see places like this still thriving. Visit it this pub. You will not be disappointed.
A. S.
Occasional live entertainment, reasonable prices for London (£1.50 for a small Coke bottle), outside seating as well (good during the summer), toilets reasonably clean, music a bit loud for a conversation, but everyone can improve
S. B.
Had a lovely meal very tasty can't wait to go back there
R. D.
Excellent whiskey selection and great food!
N. R.
Great food, but service was a bit lacking.
F. L.
Friendly local pub good selection of beers and great choice of whisky's friendly staff proper backstreet boozer
S. W. (. h.
Decent pub. Nice staff and good beers. If you like whisky they have a lot!
R. P.
The pub has steadily gone backwards over the years. Once the go-to place in London is you were into single malt whiskey but now it's just a mediocre backstreet pub
S. F. L.
Proper pub amongst a sea of gentrifcation. Becks for £3 during happy hour between 4-8pm and no minimum on card! Happy days
j. 1.
Very cool and cosy pub in the heart ❤ of London. 😊😉👍🏼
M. M.
Nice variety of whisky.
T.
5 stars on whiskey selection alone. Its a basic run down pub with good food and a big screen for football.
A. M.
Nice atmosphere, good whiskeys - food is pub grub, not great, not bad either.
P. C.
Good local pub with a focus on whiskey, so I have a whiskey when I come here, but they have a good selection of beers as well.
P. Y.
Really friendly staff and customers. Big whisky selection. Non-chain pub.
M. B.
Traditional English pub with a huge selection of whiskeys. Italian chef that makes a lovely thin pizza.
M. W.
Great little place for a pint. Often overflows outside, with very limited seating available. Drinks are averagely priced.
J. B.
Great selection of whiskies, water tap on the bar, one of my favourite pubs to visit for a winter warmer.
R. L.
Nothing special. The whiskies over there were ordinary ones from Tesco or MnS. Would not recommend it as a whisky bar
S. M.
Outstanding selection of whiskies......Alison is the fountain of all knowledge. A hidden gem for whisky lovers in London.
D. C.
Friendly pub with a real whiskey selection, and nice food. great service with friendly staff. Hidden gem
P. M.
Good beer selection, huge whisky list. Food smells nice, will taste later.
L. G.
Super ! The people in this pub are the most kind of the world and the beer is wonderful !
M. G.
Amazing whiskey selection... quiet unassuming pub with good food!
T. K.
Whisky selection seems to have diminished and only one real ale on. No sign of the promised Owd Roger either...
B. W.
Small but we'll kept pub with a quite remarkable whiskey selection
P. S.
Good selection of beers ales and whiskey, tucked away in a back street.
R. J.
Have been here twice and I think it is okay place to have a pint or two, but nothing special. It is usually quite packed and loud..
S. O.
Stuff behaviour was good.
