Reviews of The Brookmill

A seriously superb pub that should be a destination for you. Firstly how to get there.. St.John's Railway Station is two minutes walk away, St.John's is on the line between Lewisham & London Bridge. The pub itself has a live trains machine on the bar to help you. Food, full menu, fabulous service, great staff, great tables, what's not to like? Equally, children friendly, dog friendly, Thursday Live Jazz was advertised. Youngsters have a homework club too and the place is big enough to accommodate all. Not too loud so you can have good conversations hence a destination pub. When you come out of St.John's there is only one way out.. turn right and two minutes walk on the left is The Brookmill & you will not be disappointed.

Had burgers on 2 for 1 night with my daughter and was superb. Pints good and nice decor. Will be back in summer as has a great outdoor area.

First time to visit this public house in 15 years. ... Completely refurbished with an upscale decor.
Staff are friendly & attentive.
Good quality & variety on the menu, the local ales are excellent.
Definitely recommend 👌

TLDR; A good spot for a drink after work. It’s a little ways from the hustle and bustle of Deptford Bridge which makes the beer garden perfect for a casual catch up with friends
The outdoor area is covered and orders can be done through an app. It’s a bit tedious but the covid safe environment is very much appreciated.
The drinks were very well priced at ~ 5 quid for a pint. The food however was nothing to shout about. Good after a few pints but wouldn’t come here just for the food.
The service was superb and the waiting staff were attentive.

A really lovely, friendly local pub. Never crowded Thursday lunchtime and tables are not too close together and so you feel relatively safe. Very friendly service. Makes you feel a valued customer.
Tried a vegan burger with vegan cheese and it was delicious. Rest of family had patron peppers, halloumi and the squid Also enjoyable.
Worth a try.

Came back again after our first wonderful experience. Service is top notch (best I've had in London area) So far my family and I have had the fish and chips (huge portion of fish) , the ale and beef pie (my favorite meal in 3 weeks I've been in the UK), the chicken burger, the beef burger (both basic but good) along with onion rings and hummus appetizer.

Chicken sandwich was amazing.

Edit: have changed to 5 stars as the manager invited us back for a free roast after a bit of a rubbish dinner before, this time was fantastic, absolutely gorgeous. The pork with crackling was amazing and the chicken cooked perfectly. Vegetables were super tasty and the service was great even though you could tell they were really busy. Will 💯 go back.
Old review: The atmosphere was lush and staff were great and music also great. Unfortunately the roast wasn't really up to scratch, not well seasoned and my potatoes were tough! Kinda a bit bland. Someone I was with had the vegan Asian duck salad and said it was lush. Also there were no gender neutral toilets from what I could see. I would still come back cause it was a nice experience but I wouldn't get the roast again.

Expecting more from the food as heard good things. Roast was pretty standard though. Kids burger and chips pretty agricultural- a burger ripped in half with no dressing. Pub is a nice space though and good for drinks.
