Dog friendly pub with great food and nice staff. The team was very considerate about our request of table in a corner because we’re bringing our dog. The food was really good and it felt homey. This is definitely a place I would revisit many times.

The blonde barmaid with the eyebrows sculpted by the gods is so helpful she can read my mind and knows exactly what Drink I want. Psychic. Anyways, they have a great vegan selection of food and their vegan chocolate orange desert is fantastic! Also the book is pretty great almost as great as the pub. Pretty Xmas lights and decorations too a great atmosphere overall.

The waiting staff was very nice and caring. The atmosphere and the decor were quite good. The cocktails were good but I put 3 stars because the food was a bit hit and miss. We couldn't eat our dessert but the waitress was kind enough not to charge them.

We held a family wake at the pub, from our first contact with JJ our experience was second to none! The staff, food and the pub itself were fantastic. I would highly recommend the venue it was great for the wake due to its close proximity to the crematorium but if you just fancied a drink and a bite to eat it would be equally brilliant.

Vibe’s great, but the food is not as great as expected. I ordered a medium sirloin steak but it turns out to be near well done and a bit chewy. Considering it’s 12 quid, the portion is a bit small. There is also some garbage in the tissue holder. This place might be great for drinks, but not so much for a meal.

I had a good experience in here. The exterior of this pub looks impressive and the staff are very welcoming and friendly, also the venue is spacious and comfortable. There are lots of places to sit and the chairs are comfortable. There are plenty of cosy corners to sit in and it’s clean. My drink was also served ice cold.

I went at the catcher in the rye for dinner last week, I had the lamb shank, the meat literally melted in my mouth, haven't had a lamb that good in ages!! Denise served me and made me feel at home from the first minute I stepped in and took care of me and my friends the whole night, all the staff is very careful to all your needs! I highly recommend this place for a night out.

Food was nice, I must go again. What made me laugh was being warned about the 'hot sauce' on the buffalo wings. Hot? It gave me a cold. They were tasty and I wish I ordered two portions! Staff have been friendly when I've been, and it's always had a nice vibe. Never been a weekend though!

My favorite local pub. Cozy and intimate seating areas while large enough to suit all parties. Friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. Clean restrooms. Nice food menu plus outdoor seating available. Occasionally hosts pub trivia or live music (pop/rock bands). Overall, an impressive place for serious and casual drinkers that has a youthful welcoming vibe.

Really enjoy any night in here, a local from my mates house. Good selection of beers and even better selection of gins. Have never eaten in there so can't comment on that. But staff very friendly and make you feel welcome no matter how many times you visit.

It's an ok pub. The interior is nice. I had been there in summer. My experience back then was more pleasant than tonight (late November). It smelled a bit funny tonight. I would rate a 4 star if I wanted to rate it according to the experience I had back in the summertime.

This has to be the best pub I’ve been too in years. The decor is lovely both inside and out and has a very lovely atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the drinks are good but are a little pricey but I’d say it’s worth it. The only thing that lets the place down slightly is it’s limited food menu, which is again quiet pricey. I’d definitely recommend this place for a quiet drink but wouldn’t recommend for eating out.

Cracking little pub this! Tried the Hop House 13 which I cannot fault. Friendly barman Mate served me and shortly after the Manageress popped over to see how I was doing, lovely little addition. Very clean and tidy place with nice decor. Someone is doing something right at this place! Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.

For me this is the best pub in the Finchley Central area. Clean, tidy and very nice layout. Very good selection of beers, ciders and wines. A little bit pricier than some nearby pubs, however there are frequent offers on different beers. Nice beer garden. Nice staff and good customer service. Good high street location. Unfortunately no free parking nearby. Ideal meet, socialise and drink pub. Would definitely recommend.

Pub was very clean and smart but you could tell was part of a chain as it lacked character. The bar staff that served us was pleasant but not switched on as basic order was wrong, no fruit for the drink so a delay, food delivered but no cutlery? Could of been an off day but overall pretty average.

I met friends there who said it was a good pub for a quiet chat, but unfortunately they decided to have a commedy evening. This would have been fine if it had been restricted to one of the several separate areas of the pub, but unfortunately was broadcast from speakers everywhere. There was no way if unplugging out nearest speaker and putting a jumper over it had no effect, so we drank up and went to the Prince of Prussia. The open mic commedy was truly aweful, but that wasn't the point.

My local pub. I proudly admit that I have spent a lot of time here with my friend Ethan. We occasionally watch the game or just hang out there and enjoy a quiet drink. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming and so are the staff. Prices are average, but the quality of the drinks and food is pretty good. Definitely recommend you try it out yourself!

The Catcher has a lot of old fashioned charm. Good selection of beers and lagers and a nice friendly crowd. Lots of events throughout the week. Good place to get away from the noisy horrid pubs up the road in Finchley Central. Unless of course you like loud music and ruffians in which case you won't like the Catcher.

I am a fan of Catcher in the rye, whether you feel like tucking into a good read or planning something dastardly, it's quiet in the day and can be quite raucous in the evenings. When I lived in finchley, my friends and I, would often start a night by meeting here. It is also a place we have always traditionally gone on Christmas Eve. Great food with big helping and fun and welcoming staff.

I've been here numerous times and is my favourite in the group of local pubs that I walk to. Be it drinks with the girls, post work drinks or with the boyff it works well. It's divided into several areas and I normally go for the comfy leather sofa where you can sit back and chat away over a pinot! The drinks are +average priced, but that also means you don't get the wetherspoon crowd in here. The food is good, and the nibbles menu when you don't want to actually eat is perfect for a selection of on the table. The toilets are always clean and well maintained and I've yet to be stranded with the "no loo roll dilemma". Bar staff are friendly and can take a joke, but don't invade your personal space. I like the fact that you don't have to shout and lose your voice to have a conversation. Yup, definitely my favourite in Finchley Central.

Went to the catcher a few days ago with my husband, we were very keen to try out some nice pub food . Well let me tell you , we were not disappointed! The food , especially for the price, was excellent, I particularly enjoyed the chicken schnitzel 😍 whilst my husband was very impressed by the quality of the steak and Ale pie 🥧 absolutely loved it ! The pub had a great atmosphere, had a cute and rustic feel to it , and the staff were great too , Cristian and Andra looked after us well 😀.
