Loved our little meal out. Cheap and cheerful, super lovely sraff serving us and board games to entertain whilst we waited. Helpful with choosing too and will definitely be going back. The staff were super and the food was lovely! £10 burger and drink deal was great (not all burgers but some!)

Absolutely love this place. They've just released a new food menu (the full version coming later this month) and personally I think there is so much more choice - and affordable. It's also a lovely place to work for the day if you work remotely. Lovely friendly staff too. My new favourite pub!
A. M.
This pub looks absolutely gorgeous, I love the big windows, the glass ceiling, the gin display on the bar! 😍😍😍 Staff is always smiley and welcoming, there's a big selection of drafts and spirits, nice food and great prices and offers! Will definitely come back!

The food is yummy nice background music and the board games are good ideas when there’s no football different type of environment if u want to meet up with friends you can have a good banter with the managers. I would definitely be coming bk here I’ll bring friends too

I came here one evening for drinks with my partner. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We decided to try the cocktails and we were not disappointed. Well presented and tasted amazing. Will definitely be returning

The ambiance of this place is felt from the moment you enter.
Nicely spread seating of various styles, good lighting (an essential for me). A really good selection of types o beers, lagers. Plus a range of bottled lagers and other various types.
Food wise, I'll have return and check it out later. But the thing is... I want to return and enjoy more.
A. C.
What a wonderful pub. Love the decor, nice cosy feel, and super friendly staff which is often a rarity in London. Decent selection of craft beer and nibbles. I will be back!
J. J. A.
What a great afternoon we had. Brilliant place to meet friends. The mulled wine and nibbles we ordered were delicious. The hospitality was warm and welcoming will definitely return and will spread the word!
S. B.
Great place to visit, went with my family and the staff were excellent. One of the group had a food allergy and the manager was fantastic dealing with it. Highly recommend!

Visited Friday we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome as usual love this place such a nice atmosphere and such a turn around from a few months ago a broad age group range and great to see younger people enjoying the 241 cocktails food is typical pub chain food but it was a nice change from having so many gastro style venues around us that are pretty pricey so if you want a great pint and reasonably priced food then you can’t go wrong this has definitely become a regular place to visit for me
T.
I really recommend this place, fantastic food and drinks. Especially the 2 for 1 cocktail deals.
L. R.
Nice pub with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly, service was great, and the 241 cocktails were fab! 🍹
M.
Gorgeous pub, the skylight is beautiful 😍
It has been a change in management and it shows, the cocktail menu is great, two for the price of one everyday ! bargain
Nice beers on tap too
C. O.

Lovely pub with such friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be visiting again soon and recommend to all of my friends.
Thank you for a great time!

What a fantastic venue. I would highly recommend The Cellars for a drink a meal or an occasion to celebrate. Steve, Stephen and the staff are friendly, helpful, accommodating and so much fun. They helped us to plan and arrange a celebration of the life of my husband’s godmother, Glad. And what a celebration. The decorations were perfect for an old lady who was young and blingy in nature. There's a vast range of drinks, especially loving the gin and beer range. The food was a great mixture of hot and cold buffet food but so much more than a buffet and delicious. The Friday night traffic was lighter than expected but it caused them no problem to welcome us and provide the wonderful fare a whole hour earlier than planned. It was a very happy and joyous affair. Glad would have loved it. Thanks to all at The Cellars for helping us say goodbye to Glad in ‘Her Style’

I have been here several times and always receive a great welcome and super service, a genuinely great local pub and dog friendly to boot. I've enjoyed several friend's birthday drinks here over the years, and its always been a super atmosphere... and if you're eating the Fish and Chips are highly recommended.
V.
This is my favourite local pub. The glass ceiling is gorgeous (if you visit you will know what I mean) and the venue is just lovely. The staff are friendly and Steve the owner is so good. He was made for running a pub. He knows how to run a pub and help customers relax.
C. A.
This pub really feels like home! The stuff is beyond nice and it's the perfect place for a cosy pint after work. Highly recommend!

Fav pub in the wider area! The owners are fantastic and staff are very attentive! So happy you have made it through the covid storm! Times are tough and I am so appreciative of a cold pint on the tables outside! See you soon for the chicken strips 😍

High ceilings, spacious, not too busy on a Sunday and love the Victorian vibes!
J. J.
Went in for a Sunday roast, they don’t serve it anymore, I chose Fish and Chips instead and it was delicious. Nice and friendly service too, will return!

Probably the best roast I've had in London. Divine. Friendly staff, warm ambience, exactly what a pub should be. Lovely!
J. J.

The roast is AMAZING and huge portions! Bit pricier than other pubs but proper worth it. The girl who makes cocktails is SO skilled and all the staff were really sweet tbh. Comfy and clean too, proper chill lounge vibe.
J. P.
241 cocktails are great and manager Sue is lovely
J. R.
Lovely drinks , atmosphere and food !
S.
A proper pub- but stylish. Food is great and the staff are fantastic
M. O.
By far my favourite pub in Stoke Newington, great service and staff... with a great menu. Love it!
S. F.
I simply can’t recomnend this pub enough! Very welcoming with decor that is beautiful and relaxing. Most importantly there’s a great wide range of drinks, catering for all tastes. The landlords and staff always provide excellent customer service and are friendly to all ... including families and dogs! For me, personally though, it the Sunday roasts... I’m still trying to find a better one in North London after numerous years of living in the area... delicious! Very highly recommended... a local gem!!!!
D.
Love this place. Great range of drinks, great food on the menu and super friendly staff. Its a big pub so always plenty of space which is rare for a pub in London
C. H.
Beautiful gastro pub. I went there when my parents visited, lots of spaces, easy booking, and more quiet that your typical pub. The food is good (but careful the quantity are BIG, especially the for the burgers). Recommend for a nice evening or any small event
Z. C.
Good atmosphere and great staff felt welcome and appreciated
D. N.
The Cellars is a place really worth visiting. Firstly, the owners are amazing and very attentive; they made us feel very welcome, were extremely accommodating and friendly. We were seated and the staff were very attentive in making sure we were happy with our drinks and comfortable.
The Cellars has a great style and atmosphere, complete with beautiful glass ceiling and open fire. We ordered our meals which were served promptly and the staff made sure we were happy with our meals and comfortable. They have a range of meals on the menu and a large selection of drinks, such as ales, wines, cocktails and spirits.
The food was great, very tasty and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyable evening and will definitely be returning soon! Great owners, great atmosphere, great food. One of the best pubs I've been too.
T. F.
We rocked up at short notice so we were lucky to find a table. Beer is usual London prices however there was a good selection of ales and lagers.we had the sunday roast which was delicious. The wife is a veggie and she enjoyed her meal a lot. So much so, I have to take her back :) Service was first class.
B. M.
Great pub with a quirky interior. Staff are very friendly. Outdoor tables as well.
S. R.
Brilliant Sunday roast. We’ve been coming here for 2-3 years and it’s always been excellent, but there’s a new chef in the last month and it’s even better. Delicious, fresh, high quality food. Also friendly staff, really well managed, extensive beer selection & good wines, serves Nanny State, and lovely interior.
N. B.
Very nice local pub with very good Sunday roast (especially a beef one). Good selection of beers and drinks. They have a quite big dinning area and some small outside area with a lot of sun (unfortunately close to the street).
J. C.
Very beautiful pub and nice little outdoor area.
Love the decor but may need some double glazing in the winter 😬
T. W.
Really nice local pub with decent crowd. Visited for the first time recently....nice ambience. Friendly bar staff (in the main). Took our dog with us too....she got a very warm welcome and doggie treats. You can generally judge the friendliness of a pub by their dogs welcome policy in my experience.
Drinks seemed a bit pricey but worth it for the comfortable venue.
Shabby chic meets art deco/retro!!
E. C.
Good beer selection, was happy they have vedett on draught. Friendly customer service, will definitely go back again.
B.
Lovely dog friendly pub just off Newington Green. We went for Sunday lunch and had a fantastic roast with really friendly service. The roast chicken fell off the bone, with delicious, sticky skin. They have biscuits for your dog, and pub games and newspapers to keep you entertained!
C. M.
Great pint of tribute, thanks Gem!
C. C.
I'm a local. Well run, spacious pub with both inside and outdoor space. Love to meet mates and eat there.
Bar always well run clean, well organised. Feel it's loved and ambiance of a good loved place. Back room restaurant is spacious, fireplace, good lighting.
Food is great, delicious, good portions and something for everyone.
O took my Brice and she had their office party there. Need I say more. 😍
j. y.
There’s a surprise waiting for you in the pub. Looks all cosy as you step in then you look around the corner and it opens up to a huge dinning/board games room full of chatter and laughter (The food looks delicious with great portions too). Normal selection of beers and if you’re lucky to get a seat near the fireplace on the huge sofa or big chairs then you’d cancel the rest of your plans and just settle in.
J. L.
Tried this for the Sunday roast after a nearby pub ran out and were pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Fantastic and hearty portion of food; friendly and outstanding service; relaxed, comfortable atmosphere; and drinks selection to keep you well lubricated all day. Contains both traditional pub seating and more formal dinning area in the back, with sidewalk benches for pints in the sun.
C. S.
Had my leaving do here, a large group and people coming in at lots of different times. The pub was super flexible and very friendly. In the end we were there almost 6 hours. Atmosphere and food were lovely, thank you so much!
J. W.
Nice local pub with a good selection of local and national ales. An decent ipa or similar craft beer on tap would be nice but if you're desperate they have a fairly good selection of bottled craft beer. The cocktails are surprisingly good and not too expensive if you're feeling fancy!
Food wise everything I've had here has been tasty, if a little over priced for what you get.
B. J.
Great bar ,fantastic bar staff great atmosphere 👍🏾. Now under new management and is due to be refurbished, so watch this space.....
N. M.
By far the best pub in London! Great cocktails, delicious food and super friendly service. The Sunday roasts are to die for. Absolute love this place and will keep coming back.
R. M.
The Cellars hosted our wedding reception in September and it was perfectly done. The owners Steve & Stephen were just brilliant. Food was the finest we've ever had at a wedding. The pub itself was the ideal venue, a fantastic old building with a light airy rear room which is great for relaxing. Will be coming back again & again to say hi!
T. C.
Really lovely pub, however 2 of my friends ordered roasts and waited an hour for the food to arrive!! The orders only arrived when my friend chased them at the bar, so they'd clearly forgotten. My friend said politely 'we've waited quite a while ' to the man who served them (I think he was the manager) for him to only respond 'ok'. He did come back and apologise for the wait later, however my friends weren't offered anything to compensate their long wait and also weren't informed there would be a wait when they ordered. It's such a lovely place but this has really put me off going back when there's so many other options in the area.
L. P.
It was nice. Good food, good beer, but let down by other patrons who don't understand that it is OK to close the door behind you. Especially in winter. Morons...
The roast was well above average. High praise, since most roasts are mediocre...
J. L.
First time visiting with family & friends. Lovely atmosphere, warm and welcoming. Great food and wine, relaxed and chilled with great service. Also dog friendly - winner!! Can't wait for my next visit when I'm back in London
g. e.
Lovely pub Great atmosphere
D. J.
I had the best vodka lime and soda made by the loveliest barmade! They also have good selection of local and Belgian beer! I'll check out the food next time!
m. s.
Large impressive and comfortable pub. Shabby chic with sofas, armchairs and food tables. Interesting and eclectic food menu with a lot of vegetarian choices. Usually good range of cask ales, often with local beers. reasonable prices
B. B.
Pricey: X1 pint of lager and X2 large rosé £28, with no menus. Unfort. i cant afford that, but hope you can
K. H.
I love The Cellars and am proud that it's my local. Dog-friendly (and child friendly, but you can't have everything). People travel across London to come here and especially in the summer you'll see why. Recommend.
J. E.
Amazing selection of beers, both on tap and in the bottle. Very friendly staff. Lovely decor. Love coming for a drink here.
Food looks good, but yet to try personally.
A. B.
Food is good but bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss. If a couple shares a dish is it difficult to bring or at least ask if an extra plate is needed? How long are we given to eat a starter before the main course arrives? Is it fair to say that 2mn30 is a bit short? Why did the cook start preparing the main course before being told by the staff we had finished the starter like in any other restaurant? Didn't the waiter realize that they had brought us the starter just 2mn30 before? Couldn't they have said to the cook the main course was coming too early? Lots of lack of common sense and/or training and/or organisation. Food is good though.
P. C.
As it was my first time staying in London, I was quite nervous going into any establishment, however the welcome was extremely friendly, felt totally at ease straight away.
The food was outstanding, and reasonably priced considering it is London.
If I'm in the area again I would definitely be calling in.
E. B.
Lovely building and decor. Food is plush and drinks selection is great. Service is resurant style where I never really get served and mostly get ignored , maybe I'll fit into this clique one day, I do hope so as I love the architecture and skylight.
J. W.
Cellars is local to me and nice to meet up with my friends for a few drinks. Lovely atmosphere. I used to drink in here 38yrs ago when it was the Edinburgh.i do like their cocktails in here. It's made very well.
J. H.
Very nice pub, me and the wife enjoyed a friendly game of scrabble. They are also still serving mulled wine for those cold winter nights. Highly recommended
C. E.
The Cellars is a great, cosy local pub with a great vibe. Definitely my favourite in the Islington / Canonbury area. Really nice service and great cocktails as well.
C. C.
We came here for a drink with two very small children before a lunch on a Sunday. Very friendly staff, good ambience and beer.
K. C.
This pub has so much character, beautifully served aperitifs and friendly service. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly!
D. P.
The lamb rump was wonderful, really perfectly done, and my girlfriend's Pimms Cup was beautifully garnished. Good ales, very pretty interior with lots of natural light, and friendly staff.
S. A.
Amazing pub, great vibe, loads of space, friendly staff, comfortable chairs, delicious food, and beautiful interior architecture too.
M. M.
A local gem, this is my definition of a great local pub. It has very good food (menu changes every few months), good selection of beers and ales, generally very helpful staff and great atmosphere
M. S.
Fantastic food, super friendly staff, cosy in winter, cool and outdoorsy in Summer, and always very clean and reasonably priced. Another great pub in Newington Green, the new food and drink capital of Hackney :)
T. M.
Wonderful service. Friendly helpful staff. Great atmosphere. Not quite 5* purely because a small venue. Nevertheless a really nice place to visit to get a feel of Newington Green Islington.
M. B.

Nice swift drink, bit pricey but same as all London.
S. M.
Great pub!! The landlord and George (the pub dog) are lovely. The staff are always very friendly.
Great gin menu and very dog friendly. 😊
S. D.
The Cellars has had a refurb, losing the 'Edinburgh', gaining some pretty blue wallpaper and keeping the late license that makes this such a hidden gem. We came here a few weeks back after the Scolt Head had closed at 11 and found great music, interesting drinks (real ale, pear cider, quality spirits) and comfy armchairs. I'll definitely be back.
N. J.
Great building, good beer, good food, friendly bar staff. Really good pub to have a beer, bite to eat and a chat with friends.
A. M.
