I went here for a work party. Surprisingly, the food was actually really good on a busy night! Only disappointing thing was there was no table service, we had to go to the bar to get our drinks. 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco for only £35, and a big slab of beef welly!

An excelent Sirloin, extremely juicy and tasty, accompanied by a chimmichuri sauce (didn't know what this was until now) = excellent combination! Need I say more about the beers? When it comes down to the beer taste and selection, I was never let down by England and neither by The Charlotte! Cheers, guys!

Awesome place. Relaxed with out door seating and great food. Not just the usual chain pub food. Burgers are tasty and home made, pizzas are delicious, ribs, chicken wings, squid all excellent quality and at a reasonable price. Will come here again.

A great new addition to Union Street and the new scene that is currently being created there. The Charlotte is well designed, cosy and industrial with some old school British pub charm. Their menu is really good for either bar snacks or sit down meal.

What a delightful find! Found this gem of a pub by accident when walking from Young Vic towards London Bridge to watch the England Six Nations game and it was brilliant! It had so many screens set up and was not overcrowded with people when we arrived 10 minutes before kick off. The food and service were also outstanding! The ribs were so delicious and fell off the bones and the stilton burger was so tasty that it outdid a burger & lobster burger we had the night before (by a mile) at a fraction of the cost. The service was also outstanding as despite hosting a popular game and the place filled up rapidly, our dirty plates were always taken away quickly and we felt well attended to. Will definitely go again!

One of usual spots for after-work drink and quick bite. Good location just 3min walk from Southwark tube station, quick and attentive service, the food is good (our fav are truffle chips, squid and baked camembert), separate bar and restaurant area, ouydoor space and a huge TV screen. 4 stars given and not 5 as the music often is too loud so difficult to have a conversation and it would be a good idea to serve some chutney/relish with camemebert.

Sometimes this pub is really nice on a quiet day, other times it can get really busy with football lads on a match day which isn’t really my crowd. But would definitely recommend for a drink if it’s not too busy, and the food is nice too.

It's a sports bar, it's a DJ bar, it's a cozy bar. I'm happy with all these, but blaring music at 5:55 pm is a bit much. Take a hint - build the volume up over the course of the night. Otherwise all good - staff are friendly, good selection of beers, small outside smoking and patio heater area .... But ultimately a confused space.

I “think” this was the place with the awesome chicken wings? Yes! While imbibing with colleagues I felt a tad peckish and therefor opted to devour a platter of wings which were served hot and prompt and delicious. Great place to watch sports. They have plenty of big screens and a good selection of beer. It's a really nice place to be outside in their "beer garden". The place is a bit pricey, but that seems pretty normal for the area. I will definitely go again if I have to watch sports after work.

Great bar near to Southwark station with an even better variety of beers on tap. There’s a ton of space in door and even outside in the outdoor area (which has heaters). Staff are very polite and always cheerful when I’ve been in. Food is also very good, especially the wings! So if you want to come for food and to watch the football, you’re in the right place. Only slight negative is that if there’s events going on upstairs (which is all open plan) it disrupts everyone below unfortunately.

Four of us came for lunch and dinner. The service was excellent. The food was from a limited range. At lunch two of us had a veggie option and two had fish and chips. Quality and quantity both good. At dinner one of us had the ribs, which was more than enough without the side order of chips and the other three had chicken and bacon. This was tasty and came with enough sides to keep us going, complemented by a decent bottle of Pinot Grigio.

I really liked the food here. I discovered it after going to borough market, and i highly recommend it. All the food was really good, i went on a monday when it was 1/2 off and was able to order a lot of diffrent items. The only con were the portion for the calamari and the virgin pina colada tasted like coconut water with lemon. The wings were outstanding and the burgers, we ordered the chicken and beef, were really good too. It's sure to be a must visit when i go back to london

Great Bar in near Southwark for after work drinks. The entrance is a narrow hallway which people tend to crowded around in but once you get past that it opens up into a really nice two story space. There's plenty of seating around and even a small outdoor patio area for when the weathers looking good. Great selection of beers on tap as well

I booked a team night out for 25 of us and they exceeded expectations. Everyone loved their food and the service was amazing. The menu doesn't have any vegan options, but they made me a vegan pizza and it was great, hopefully it will be added to the menu. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff. Great bar food (avoid the prawns though). No Bacardi or Crabbies but the place was an excellent choice for a long afternoon of very pleasant drinking and snacking - those wings were 10 out of 10 and the pizza has a cracking reputation too!

A little hidden (have walked past for almost a year without realising this place was located down a small side alley) but very happy to know it exists now. Ordered the chicken burger with regular fries; absolutely delicious! I could have eaten it twice. Not because the portions are small, but because I happened to be rather hungry and it was really good food. I also had a pint of the Charlotte Stout and it was pretty good. Will be coming back!

Visited on Monday night, seems a nice place. Burger was lovely, although bacon was rock hard, sweet potato fries were very nice. Wanted a pizza but was told no pizzas were available, which was bit odd as it's only a Monday. If there are no pizzas on offer why are they still advertised on the menus at the tables? Also, Sunday lunches were promoted on the menus, but it was a Monday? If the menus can 'accurately reflect' what food is actually available that would help greatly. Would I come back? Yes burger was great so would be willing to try something else, maybe pizza, if it was available.....lol

Relatively recent addition to the Southwark pub list. Nicely laid out with nice restaurant area upstairs and useful outside seating and screen for sports viewing in secluded courtyard off Union Street. Let down a bit by 50% of the gents urinals being out of order during my visit and rather high prices for the area. Pleasant, helpful staff and good menu - well worth a visit.

If I ever need to take visitors to a place that is lively but without an old-school pub vibe, I go for the Charlotte. It's modern and in a cool location underneath one of the overground arches, and it's only a couple minutes from the Southwark tube stop. It's also pretty good for watching football as it doesn't get TOO crowded and they have a decent amount of TVs scattered around the different rooms and also outside. If you get there early enough you can also grab a spot upstairs at one of the tables overlooking the big projector. Service takes a little longer if you go during peak times but usually nothing too egregious

I've been meaning to write this review since last week but better late than never. This new venue in Southwark is fantastic! Great food at reasonable prices, beers on draft and delicious cocktails.Downstairs has a fabulous vibe for casual drinks and dining. Upstairs feels cosy with a more upscale setting and a more intimate experience. The staff are friendly and very helpful during this busy period. But we would especially like to thank Kiki who I think was one of the managers on the evening for going well out of her way to find us a table on such a busy night. She made sure we were looked after and told us more about the new venue for future events. We will definitely be back again! Cheers

Had a work function here and Kiki (manager) was organised, friendly and on-point both during the planning stages and on the night itself. She definitely made sure things ran smoothly and was friendly and approachable throughout. Felt in safe hands. Staff are friendly and know what they are doing and the drinks selection is good. Venue is a great place for work parties and Friday drinks. We'll be back!

A neat little place to watch the Rugby, just passed Southwark tube station. Very cosy and good food selection. The service was average, felt like the management were a bit too harsh here to the service staff, our waitress was very upset about us helping ourselves to some extra cutlery which seemed very bizarre! But food wise the roasts literally were incredible and seemed like some good vegan alternatives.

Went for Ribs and Rhythms night which is regular Tuesday offer at this American themed sports bar style venue that's opened up under the railway arches near Southwark station. First visit to the venue, and found all of the staff very friendly and welcoming, especially Kiki the manager. Big portion of ribs with a great sauce - not too sticky and sweet, but very tasty. Love the decor and vibe of the venue, and already made multiple bookings to go back including their Burns Night event and Superbowl viewing event. Considering they've only been open a short while, very impressed with the service and thought that's gone into the whole experience - food choices, decor, offers etc. Wasn't aware of the Secret DJ app, but will certainly use it in future. I can see this becoming a firm favourite with local residents and workers alike, and great location very close to Southwark/Waterloo East stations and short walk to Waterloo. Looking forward to warmer weather since they have an outdoor area too. All in all, just the sort of lively place where you feel welcomed by the staff, that the area has been lacking for some time considering so many bars/pubs are filled with tourists or people coming for theatre etc. Highly recommend you check it out. The upstairs is a more formal/classy restaurant area with some nice booth seating, whereas downstairs is the lively bar with table seating as well as high-tops, and lots of sports screens showing various events.

Well I don't usually hand out 5 stars but this place has everything that made me want to come back, good selection of draught, great decor, good music, screens at various parts of the bar, friendly staff and finally full rack of ribs for £10 on Tuesdays and 'wings Wednesdays'. The bar was also particularly clean with waitress wiping even the small drips of beer that someone had dropped taking a pint back to their table. Well done ... I will be back
