Lovely beer garden! They have a big but well organised space outside for many people and it all run smoothly. You won’t be waiting long for your order. Great and very professional staff. The food is delicious ! Chips and padron peppers came in huge portions which was unexpected but welcomed :) They have TVs across the whole space. So if you are a football fan that is a great place to be! And don’t miss out on Pub quizzes every Monday😊

Brilliant beer garden! The bar staff were incredible! Honestly Callum needs a raise/promotion! Went here for my birthday and had so much fun, the service was stellar, the food was delicious, we were covered and near heaters for later, just can't recommend this pub enough. For those trying to watch the Euros there were loads of TVs around too. Will definitely be coming back!

Unsuspecting pub from the outside but once you go past the door it's like stepping into another world! Whilst the inside bit of the pub is modest, they have really expanded their outdoor space - lots of tables, sheltered booths and a really nice outdoor vibe. Allso excellent staff who were really willing to help us (we were having a bday party) - very thankful to these guys!

Really good food, bit expensive but most cases it's at least close to value for money. (but don't order the roast pork, literally more fat than meat/crackling, I expect a bit of fat, but this really was disgusting). Really good staff. If you're booking you get 2.5 hours or more if they don't need the table, but they do give plenty of warning that your table is up and sometimes you might be able to move to another table. Lots of options for shade in summer or shelter outside in winter with heat lamps.

Had to ask at pretty much every other round where beers were after waiting quite a long time - we were told wine came from the outside bar. Maybe when beer is picked up from the inside they pick up the remainder of the order on the way. Less trips and the customer knows that the whole order has been fulfilled. Staff were amazing and always very helpful, they really were working super hard! Although, our posessions and us got drenched at the end by the cover being put up immediately after being given a 10 minute warning. Absolute top night but could organise things slightly better.

For those among us still craving space from others after months of being locked in our homes, the Crooked Billet is perfect. The beer garden is humongous, sprawling, and well protected from the rain. Loads of screens on which to watch the footy. Indoors is a classic English pub, with fire places which are roaring when it's cold outside. Tiny downside is the ordering app, which only allows you to select from a limited menu when sat at the bottom of the beer garden. Unfortunately due to my seat's location I was only allowed to order pizza, compared to others sat just metres away who were able to select from the main menu, which looked delightful. Had to get a kebab from the Clapton Kebab House instead (10/10). On the whole, Crooked Billet is great and I definitely recommend it, though they should change that ordering system!

What a great pub! I’m so pleased this is my local - first visit in quite a few years and I was totally delighted! The roast beef dinner - cabbage, red cabbage, swede, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy - was absolutely delicious. The dessert and wine were equally good. The atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming; the service - efficient and friendly; the management right on the ball. This is certainly my pub of choice from now on!

Each dish knocked it out the park, every small plate tried would get demolished again. Delightful batter and juicy thigh in the fried chicken. Salty delicious halloumi sticks and a very healthy (or unhealthy..) portion sizes. Spiced cauliflower had all the flavours working. Pizzas top notch too. Even the chips were high end. Very friendly and engaging staff. Cracking selection of drinks. Just dont have a bad word to say. Get yourselves booked in.

Good local. Great to have such a big outdoor space in good weather. It's kid-friendly, which is really handy, and dog-friendly (which is handy for the kids). It's not a gourmet pub, but some of the dishes have been amazing regardless. If you want to play it safe, go for the mac and cheese side. Yumm.

Good pub, great outside space. A little pricey for its location. When we visited we ordered food but unfortunately their kitchen shut down. (Gas issues?) We were reimbursed our money and given a drink for each dish we ordered. They encouraged us to order from a nearby pizza place and bring it to the pub which was great - made us take our pizza boxes with us as we left though.

I lasted visited this place years ago when it was hands down the worse pub in the area. The beer garden was a run down car park and a fly tipping site for locals dumping there rubbish. How things have changed its modern clean classy great staff well managed and that trashy car park as turned into the best beer garden I have ever visited east to north london. There are small huts in the garden you can shelter from in rainy days or if you fancy a post lockdown romantic drink and meal this hands down is a must place to visit. Finding it hard to believe some people would rate the roasts so poorly - I find the beef roast the best in east London and have had it several times. During the winter season, this pub is as cosy as it gets, with mulled wine, ciders, fairy lights, and an awesome pub quiz. In the summer, the massive outdoor garden and giant TVs keep everyone happy. The real winners are the staff though, they all seem to be having so much fun behind the bar. It's a traditional, homely pub, constantly playing with the menu. I look forward to their roasts and hospitality on a monthly basis.

What a gem of a pub in North East London, the garden is huge and has lots of seating and TV screens showing the sport. The inside is lovely too and spacious but the garden makes it specially on a sunny day. The food was good. If your in the area and its nice and sunny do pop in the staff are very friendly too.

My favourite pub in the area. Huge beer garden with friendly staff and really great food! There are heaters in the garden so you can sit outside all year (if you're under one) in the summer there are deck chairs and it's super cosy inside for the winter. Win win!

The pub has recently been renovated and a large beer garden installed which is a nice addition for these hot summer days. There is always some sort of entertainment which is also great. My only criticism is that it is a typical hipster pub ... Meaning the food and drinks are overpriced and trying to be something they are not. The staff are friendly for the most part, but sometimes you get the feeling that they feel they are doing you a favour by being there and serving you.

Nice building and an old school pub that retains it's East London roots. Has been refurbished in recent years and the area looks nothing like it was 20 years ago (believe it or not - this road was referred to as "murder mile" in the past) Lord Sugar grew a stone throw from this place and there are many parks within minutes walking distance. Good stop off point if you feel like a bit of a cockney.

After being constantly disappointed by Islington and Shoreditch top gastropubs, visiting the Crooked Billet was a breath of fresh air. A great local pub with a good balance of traditional and retro - deco and clientele. I booked a table for two and was surprised at the level of service for a pub, the staff were jovial and we were so well looked after. The pot roasted whole pheasant for two, perfectly cooked, slightly pink, which came with three types of vegetables, roast potatoes and two pots of perfect wine reduced un-thickened gravy, was a delicious bargain for less than £30. It was great to see an innovative Sunday menu in a local boozer, instead of the three go to roasts that every establishment seems to offer. I must also mention the deep fried radicchio starter, sublime. We had no room for desert, but I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the hood. I highly recommend the Billet for a Sunday roast.

Avoid the Sunday nut roast, which featured papery roasties and was covered in a watery, bitter and burnt-tasting gravy which the barman said was as intended and was apparently made with (a lot of) Marmite. At 14 pounds one of the more expensive nut roasts going in the area, and I found it totally inedible. Might be OK for Marmite lovers, but at least warn people about what it's made from! Bar staff didn't make the process of changing to a mac and cheese side instead very easy. As others have said, a nice place for a pint, with a huge beer garden. Might've just been unlucky on the food, but not tempted to gamble again at that price.

A major revamp has turned this place into a great neighbourhood pub. Plenty of space indoors and out, with a huge garden stuffed full of deckchairs, ping pong tables, table football and fairy lights. Excellent halloumi burger, really good music (like the kind of playlist you'd make for a party, covering the best of soul, rock, indie) and Aperol spritzes for £4. Brilliant.

What a change this place has gone through! From spit-and-sawdust to compete Hackney Hipsterdom. It's usually pretty crowded - uncomfortably so, meaning that we found it difficult to attract staff attention. Having said that, though the food was excellent, justifying the high prices.
