This was the pub where I had my first beer in London. After sight seeing for the day this was next, it was happy hour, there were people standing outside of the bar with there drinks. First time I had ever seen any bar let you drink outside but it's common here and it was a good welcoming experience. Had about 4 beers mostly outside and got to chat with locals. The Crown.

Felt compelled to leave a review. The people working here were fantastic. I wanted to leave a review after they refused service to a group where someone had sworn at the bar staff and they left saying they were going to write complaints. Completely unfair and the guys deserve a good review for handling it well.

Great little bar in the heart of Piccadilly. Popular West End " Pub " surrounded by numerous London landmarks. Good friendly service from the bar and given the central London location very reasonably priced drinks on a very good selection of beers, lagers and assorted spirits. Worth a visit, only 5 minutes from any of the 5 exits from Piccadilly underground station.

Decent chain pub in the middle of Soho with an old time pub look and feel. Drink selection is pretty standard and prices are about what you wouod expect in central London. Food is cheap and decent quality, but much of the menu was sold out when we visited. Staff were lovely and helpful.

A proper London, and particularly Soho pub. Delightful, lovely attentive staff. An early visit so not crowded but a great atmosphere. The kind of place where fun happens. Great beer with plenty of Keg and Cask. Popular with American airmen during WWII it says, it would be great to know more and get personal about this. Any Americans been told to visit by ex or current airforce customers?

Great pub close to where I was staying. I don’t usually eat fried food, but wanted to have fish & chips while in London. It was good. One large piece and thick breading. Order and pay at bar and they bring the food to your table. Friendly service.

Good central pub with nice gin varieties. I can't give an opinion on the beers side but chaps seems to enjoy themselves. On sunny days you can have your drinks outside but there is not much space so it gets very crowded. Overall is a good meeting point if you are wanting to go somewhere else in the area.

Standard pub in London with normal selection of beers, ales, bottles etc. and London prices. Great and polite service though, table service at the time due to COVID. Only let down was the cleanliness of the toilets.

Great pub, attentive staff who explained all the COVID rules without assuming I knew what to do. They asked all the necessary questions, reminding me that the pub operates a full table service and that I should wear masks if I were to leave my table. Because of their friendly and reassuring attitude every customer knew which rules to follow and what to do. Comparing to many other places who assume "the customer must already be aware of the rules", this was a great experience. Although I knew the rules, I very much appreciated being reminded of them. The staff were cheerful in a difficult time and even though I couldn't see their faces, I could feel their smiles behind the masks. Thank you.

Other pubs in the area, although still great, suffer from cramped conditions. Decent selection of beers. Will definitely go back again when in the area.

Lovely place just off Piccadilly Circus. The staff was very friendly and you can see they were in a very good mood, also competent and helped us to pair food and drinks. We had 2 fish and chips, absolutely amazing! They place was also very clean, I could notice how quick tables were cleaned. Before leaving I went to the toilet where I found one of the manager doing a routine check. I felt very looked after and will be definitively back! Highly reccomended

Nice pub with nice waitresses. But it closes very early as the most pubs in London. This is a little bit frustrating. When you are in the middle of your birthday party and suddenly you have to go. You watch on your clock and it isn't already midnight.

Staff are nice enough, very dark atmosphere even if its super sunny outside it still has a very gloomy feel. The food there is ok. Its not great but its not bad, its just good enough (not for the price though). Few evident leaks and building damage but nothing serious and in a way it kind of adds to the look of the pub. Its fine for a quick drink/bite but not somewhere I suggest you spend too much time.

We ate here for a pre-theatre meal. The pub is a convenient stone's throw from the Piccadilly Theatre. It was relatively quiet at 6pm, particularly in the restaurant room. There is a good choice of food and ours was excellent. Staff were very pleasant. I would eat here again.

Nice traditional looking pub in fascinating Soho. We had the private dining area above,with its own bar. Needed more room for the numbers attending, and a larger selection of 🍺 than Corona or another well known brand, (could have been anything tbh). Come on guys, every bar in city of Bristol has a great selection of craft beers on tap and in three sizes,not just half pint or pint but two thirds as standard offerings. Also food was reminiscent of a 1970's house party (think Abigail's party era). White bread and rolls, packet ham and mustard, egg mayo,scotch eggs, chicken skewers. Barman had no sense of humour or a smile. If nothing else it does fulfil the historical London scene for tourists and older local workers, but for me it's in somewhat of a time warp. Maybe London does still need places like this. The jury's out! Update! Having read the pub owners reply, I have upped the rating to 4, since I believe him to have made fair comments and I will certainly try out the main ground floor bar area in the near future as it sounds promising. My only proviso is that the staff member could still do with 'a smile and sense of humour perhaps?' An event organiser sure has responsibility for certain aspects and are always restricted by a clients budget In my industry we get to sample a wide range of venues across London, but as a hosting venue I do believe that the product offered should reflect the overall standards a venue can achieve. Be it a 5 star deluxe hotel or a football stadium hospitality suite using agency staff. If the organisers budget per head fails to reach what a venue owner desires to achieve a positive reflection of his/her's establishment, should the potential business be politely declined? Or should the venue owner accept the business knowing that he/she may be portraying an incorrect vision of the usual quality product. Food for thought, in more ways than one! Four stars deserved nevertheless, and I look forward to my next visit, maybe for a 2/3 pint of guest ale! (bring my own glass) Cheers.

Very good slow cooked steak, amber ale and mushroom pie. Very surprised for that option and what a good option.. Very rude waitress, clearly doesn't like foreign people and the only time she actually look at us in the eyes and spoke with us was to rushing me out. Very very rude and poor person . 3 stars only for the food .

It's a decent pub and its advantage is that it's open earlier than most pubs and can provide that morning pint for drunken tourists like myself. However it feels quite desolate if you come before lunch - but I guess this can't be helped. Bear in mind it's a chain pub (and nicholson's at that, which isn't my personal favourite) so the touch isn't too personal. The space is also arranged in a less than ideal way, but overall acceptable. I should probably return when it's fuller.

I'll start with the food. Greasy burger tastes good after a few pints, chips were perfectly cooked 👍 Access to toilet is a negative point, when one has been drinking, exiting the toilet while drunk could be fatal, and the toilet is awkwardly small. 🤣

The Crown is decent boozer - not going to be anything that you want to rave to your friends about but in the same breath, does what is needed of a pub. Decent beer selection both on tap and by the bottle. Same with the wines though the staff and not overly informative about the selection they hold. Prices are standard of the Soho area. If your in need of place to pop in and quench your thirst give it a go.

If there's no seats downstairs then there's a dining area upstairs. Been for lunch a few times - pub lunch classics: Recommend the meat-tastic Mixed Grill. Points knocked off for disgusting toilets though.

The Crown is a confortable pub, located in a historocal building when Mozart played! We eat a delicious lamb pie and a traditional fish&chips served with tartar souce, peas, and ipa beers. Than we finished with a loving Christmas pudding and a apple crumble. The staff is really kind and efficient! We'll come back very soon!

Nice dining room; rugby on in the pub, so we went upstairs. Cute waiter, £45 for four people having lunch and a pint. I had the Glazed Shallot Tart Tatin w/ Braeburn apple salad.....I swear, it was the best thing I've eaten in a long while. Good house rosé. Absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop praising it whilst there. Will definitely be coming back.

Almost 150 years old pub, Mozart performed here when he was 9 years old. To be part of that history is amazing. Few metres from picadilly circus, must try the fish n chips, friendly staff and great interiors, takes you back in time.

Visited with a W.I. group for 🎥 lunch. We pre ordered food. Everyone (16people) enjoyed their lunch. Plenty variety. Can reccomend, fish finger sandwich and salad plus salted caramel profiterols and ice-cream. Marina, was our waiter and organised all the service, we ate upstairs in the restaurant very clean, tidy & organised tables. Bar to ourselves upstairs, with staff serving drinks and organising us. Superb time, service and food. Very clean. Highly reccomend.

Nicholson's pub on Brewer Street, presumably 19th Century. Quite an attractive (presumably original) tympanum bearing "The Crown Tavern" on the Lower James Street side of the exterior. Inside pretty much what you expect from a Nicholson's pub, and I think I've probably seen too many of these now to get really enthusiastic about these. Still, overall, not a bad place to stop for a pint if you're in the area.
